International Bird Song Day is nearly upon us

What is Bird Song Day?
Thats easy:

1. Bird Song day is the largest unofficial event on the Northern Shiverpeaks
2. It takes place on Birds Birthday! May the celebrations begin!
3. Its aim is to Queue out the current selected map with players and then give each player a golem
4. The rules are simple, NOBODY WALKS. Everyone MUST be inside a golem.
5. The maximum map limit for players is 100. We expect to have 80 Golems per map
6. For official map selection and times please contact Bird Song or Smitry, on forums or Ingame.

I hope for you to join us on this day of insanity!

You should bring your whole guild. Not only could we use the help when we fight higher tiered servers, but you would have a blast rolling with the morning crew. Stuck at work myself wishing I could be there. I have much to learn as a commander and those 2 are great guys to learn from. Not to mention we have sooooo much fun?

Blueprint stockpile will eventually dissolve. Probably sooner than later. One problem I see with this is by selling on the TP your potentially benefiting your enemy’s server by selling them siege at very cheap rates. Thank you!!! :-)

Ioj you need to figure out that your server is fighting American servers. Because it seems like 80% of you guys are sleeping when NSP or HOD is active in wvw, of course all your stuff is gonna be taken. Thats why they made EU servers to fix this issues, don’t know why you guys didnt go there…Prob wouldnt be dominated by every server you face. And yes you are active when nsp and hod are usually asleep.
Also seen some people say nsp doesn’t have people, Because NSP is full of people who are at work or college, I’m sorry hod is full of kids off for the summer that can play all day to protect SM.

I guess when a server fields more then NSP they are all kids who are off for the summer. It’s a terrible idea to switch servers because you’re losing a little bit, Every server has their prime times. Maybe we should all move to a higher tier server where coverage is amazing at all times?

To hell with that, I’m not paying for a transfer, nor do I want to leave my friends. Not going to happen.

IOJ’s BL is on the JQ server this week I believe. I’ts unlikely it will get fixed as badly as their server is overpopulated. Yet another reason to never consider getting on a T1 server.

After spending most of our days in T1 on Jade Quarry we are looking to get out of the full que Zerg mentality which plagues each server here.

What We Offer:

-We do Weekly GvG’s and are currently ranked in top 10 on gw2gvg.com even after a long break of not increasing rating due to us looking for new server.
-Able to field 20 People regularly on our WvW nights and normally field 25.
-We have a roster of 53 active players who log on every day. 100% WvW based and always have a 20-25 people present during NA time together in our guild group.
-We focus on Zerg Breaking and open field Tactics. While we do spend 1 day out of the week to GvG for a few hours.
-We work and communicate with the commanders on the server and individual Borderlands to help achieve common goals and to provide pressure where it is needed.

What we are looking for:

-A Tier which offers a fairly balanced weekly score. So it is not a train wreck each week for the same server.
-A Tier which does not field Full Que Zergs on Multiple Borderlands through out the week.
-We would prefer an underdog Server on a Balanced tier to help make it more Fair and Balanced. Not looking for the weekly winner.

If you have any Questions or wish to get a hold of me here would be the best place to post.

Your needs just described NSP perfectly. We really need help with borderland coverage, and can only queue 1 borderland on reset. Outside of that we don’t queue any of our borderlands. We normally have a very close matchups, but when were fighting servers that outnumber us, we still tend to do pretty well. We may not be the weekly winner but with the new ranking system we were able to from rank 21 to rank 16 in a very short amount of time because we fight hard and defy the odds.

Send me a whisper or a PM here and I would be happy to set up a meeting with you and a few of our commanders that would be able to give you more info and give you a idea of what NSP is about.

In the another skill lag thread you pitched a fit when someone said transfer down a tier and while I agree with the sentiment that asking us to fix the problem is not a logical long term solution, it is something we as players have control over right now. The problem is no one wants to do it because there is no reward for doing so and guilds having to start over and pay for it is actually a disincentive instead.

I am a huge proponent of realm pride and building strong WvW communities which takes time but GW2 has been screwing it up since before launch starting by not giving us the proper tools to gather our communities together to the broken guesting system which made free world transfer last much longer than they should have and the creation of the world boom and bust cycle that plagued the first 5 months of the game. So now here we are, culling is fixed but culling might have been the one the thing that was keeping skill lag in check and the bigger our zergs get the worse skill lag is. Every reset seems worse since early May. Sometimes we the players just have to take things into our own hands. I want to play the game not wear out my #1 key.

We get a ton of these threads every single reset but they are usually gone and buried by the time Monday rolls around. Do your part if skill lag is effecting your enjoyment of the game to make sure we have massive bunch of these skill lag posts front page come the beginning of the work week if we want ANET to start taking us seriously and stress the point if you would rather see lower world and WvW map population caps (and hence sadly, longer queues) than suffer another reset weekend of intense skill lag.

I agree Server / team /guild pride is the only reason to stay on the server you are on. I applaud you for that. However I am constantly seeing upper tier servers posting threads to try and get people to transfer, or when a guild is looking to transfer they are jumping on them to sway a decision. When you get these guilds doesn’t it just add to the problem?

It all boils down to hardware, It has never been able to keep up with software. By reducing the amount of stress on the hardware the lag goes away. In order to do this you have to reduce the amount of players on a single map to reduce the lag. Until the hardware companies can better the hardware used, or untill people purchase enough gems for Anet to increase their servers. This just isn’t going to change.

Switch to HoD, NSP is the same as AR was. We fought AR and DH last week, probably the best matchup we have faced in 4-5 months as far as relativley fair fights. Groups running 10 or less or even 15 or less. This matchup just blows straight up. And we’re still getting a a ton of kills, just the mindset of your two servers NSP and Ioj or whatever your name is is brutal. You should all xfer to tier 1 and play Zerg wars / seige wars 2 there and leave people who like to use character abilities a bit more than 4 keys total a fight down here.

NOOB typically runs between 3-10 when we are out. I often find pugs following me though when I am around. Only time we have more than 10 NOOB is on reset and even then, not always. Not our fault other guilds will have members that follow a commander or well known person on the server around.

You may run 3-10, as soon as you decide to wear a commander blue Dorito, all bets are off. Mine as well change your tag to [PvP] from sf or [ALS]. My point is our guild doesn’t want to rely on anyone else to win fights.. Occasionally KoM comes flyin in to save our butts but rarely do we AJ each others fights. The mentality of not caring how much Teal is around you is why this game is zergwars2. We don’t come from that background.

Most often I don’t wear my Commander tag in WvW unless: A: We are doing a guild event, or B: Another commander asks me to take over for a while. The latter is rare. Normally when people follow me its because they know me and just want to follow. Last night we were in HoD BL and had 10 people, Eventually we would get “zerged” by 30ish PHZE and friends. Still had some fun and happily payed my repair bills. Yet I have to ask myself, is 30 really a zerg? I rarely saw less than 50 from our matchup last week.

Granted I am horrible at PvP, Rarely do I win a 1v1. I don’t get my estiffy from how many people I can claim I beat in a fight. I don’t cry when I loose. I may get upset from time to time when my teammates don’t listen, but I get over it. If I didn’t enjoy it I would leave. Yes leave… its simple, if your not haveing a good time. Go do something else somewhere else.

You come for your reasons, I come for mine. I try to support my server over myself. Maybe that’s not your reason to play, I won’t criticize you for that. Yet I feel like you want to criticize me for playing the game the way I enjoy it….

Siege being tradable will certainty change the game.

But it does cause me to wonder if it will just shift more of the burden to commanders. If people get siege from JP/drops/world ranks, they could just sell them on the AH.

I know I’ll be torn when a golem print drops…

I’m sure there will be those that try to make some money off it, which may mean they can at least buy them somewhat cheaper than from the npcs (if they buy them with coin anyways).
I’m going to be just mailing it to the commanders I try to normally give the stuff to.

Can’t wait to see some of the commanders opinions when they get flooded with mail with just siege I think I’ve only see it once where a commander asked to be send gold for siege, or buy it and drop it so that commander could pick it up.

We have a few commanders who buy siege at 1/2 the vendor prices prior to this patch.

I expected this reply, this is the view from the ac position, you can maybe* hit the side of the wall but you cant see the floor at all at all through that hole

This is the MAX zoom out the game will allow from the position of the arrowcart in the video, anymore deviation up or down will either show you more of the upper part of the wall or obscure the gap above the door completely.

EDIT: The screenshots youve shown dont really prove much of anything, the aoe rings are further away then where youve marked in Spets screenshot.

if you look at spets screen shots the AOE ring starts at the side near the top of the wall, with increased radius it makes it easy to reach where the AOE rings were

In your SS where youve marked, that isnt even on the edge of the AOE rings in Spets screenshot.

I marked the wrong spot, either way as shown the top of the jut is still visible from that angle which is where you are supposed to aim. Either that or the side of the jut I can’t remember.

I was going to say, the center of the AOE ring’s from smitry’s post and position of the AC, vs the pictures you provided didn’t even come close to matching up. I am not calling the user of that AC a hacker, just saying the explanation and backup pictures didn’t match up to the pictures Smitry provided. If you can provide one I would love to see it. In fact if you can line up Smitry’s photo with one of your own showing AOE rings from the AC that would be fabulous. Must use exact siege placement position and the aoe target ring from being on an AC in that same position. Purpose of this is that once you get on a siege weapon your FOV does change somewhat.

I don’t know whats going on but literally everyone on IoJ borderlands is getting timed out. Like every 5 mins 10-15 players get dc’ed. It’s only on IoJ borderlands too, literally our whole server is dc’ing in our own borderlands…just our BL… this is BS and anet needs to fix this.

We were getting hit with this as well. Sad part is it wasn’t during big battles, We were PVDoor and loosing people left and right.

I agree that there needs to be a more significant change. I feel like Anet doesn’t want me to enjoy the same fruits of labor in WvW as I would get in PVE in 1/10th of the time invested. Knowing that I have lost loot that despawned before I could revive and return to get it infuriates me. If the WvW team, and or, Anet as a whole doesn’t want me to play WvW and have = reward as doing PVE I wish they would just come out and state it. I could then move on instead of hoping for equal treatment as the rest of the games playerbase.

I would like to down vote this idea. Useless upgrading = Money sink. This is actually important to the economy of the game. I understand that the OP feels like they are wasting money, but that is intended to a large degree. Not to mention, why should I be separated from my friend in Ireland when we want to be on the same server and play together when we get the opportunity?

Anyone else realize that we are missing a major component of this matchup??? Someone put out a ABP for Bird, he hasn’t even dropped a single meem in this thread. Something horrible must have happened!!!!!

Not trying being disrespectful or anything in any way and i’m not going to bother replying to people who take it in that way. All tho i am quite proud of some of the things NSP have done this week, you really have had it way easier than you would if BP and SBI didn’t have this little rivalry going on. And i agree that that’s purely because you’s are obviously from a much lower tier than us and that we have larger numbers and better coverage but just thought i’d add that in. Keep up the great work tho.

I agree with a great deal of this, without a doubt. But I look at NSP 4 months ago and see how much the guilds have improved. We are not the same NSP that BP faced back with AR. BP isn’t the same BP it was 4 months ago either.

By all means give it to us for badges, im more than sick of my 8k badges making a mess of my bank.
And we until not that long ago had only one set look which was crud (its not an opinion, noone kittening wore those sets, noone even does now).
And even now after the “boost” we dont have any really special WvW sets, while the PvE crowd has more than enough dungeon sets you cannot earn in WvW.

But im not advertizing WvW specific sets (cause you know, i give a kitten how other players i share this game with feel) but these new sets are in no way PvE specific.
So theres no ground to shaft us for again.

You could donate those badges in the form of Siege to your commanders. Just a thought. I know it requires generosity but it can be done.

Looking at this in a broakitten erspective, this should be implemented to combat against internet bullying and stalking as well. Just makes good sense.

I think there are a number of very delusional people (on all three servers, but more on BP per this thread).

Lets just clear something up.

All three of our servers suck at WvW, we have a horrible rank. Having an ego in 13th or 14th place is hilarious.

So take a step back, realize whichever server even wins this match is still a poor WvW server and put your ego away. I’m trying not to be super specific and point fingers at anyone so nobody has to get super defensive but seriously, come on guys.

Lets have a good fight and maybe show a little more respect all around. I know it’s possible, there was a ton of that when SBI was at the top with HoD and JQ and I’d argue servers in 1, 2 and 3 have a far more difficult time maintaining tact and not letting ego’s get out of hand than people in 12, 13, 14.

I for one am having a blast with the new matchup system. NSP has been fighting outmanned since before it started. The week it started I believe we were rank 22. Since then we have lost 3 more guilds. Yet somehow we have managed to keep fighting and climbing in the ranks. Going up against servers that are now much larger than our own many of the guilds have decided they need to get more organized. Pugs are also deciding that if they want to be able to compete they need to join the more organized guilds. Here we are, 6 weeks later?? and NSP is predicted to be rank 16 this coming reset. We haven’t gained any new guilds to my knowledge, we have simply done what we can to upset the predictions. Eventually a day will come when we are just far too outnumbered to be able to compete at all. Thats when we will all catch up on some PVE and farming. Until then you can bet were going to keep fighting our hearts out.

Frost meant “Os Guild” not “is guild”. And they are VERY competitive and solid guild. I give them mad respect. Not to mention if you find yourself not fitting in perfectly they will set you up with an allied guild that better fits YOUR play style and needs. Very tight knit community on NSP for sure!

Thanks for the fun last night in BP borderlands. Got some good training in with the newbies that have joined us. Also got to “look the beast” on the briar bridge when most of my little squad got wiped and was able to to not only survive but clean up the group that had come to get us off the doors. I will admit, the 2 pugs and the Necro that was with me were a huge help. Had a few other good fights in some of the camps as well. Eventually NOOB will be a guild that people will actually recognize and not just a tag thrown in the PUG mix.

SBI is facing NSP this week and I also have to recommend NSP for anyone looking to join. From what I have seen, they have some very smart tactics, some awesome havok groups and are holding their own, very well, against two servers who have larger populations than theirs. Good job, NSP! You guys seem like an awesome server.

Facepalm….. A thief that stops to revive while under shadow refuge is not “op”.

1: thief drops SR to stomp, That thief is stuck in positon for a few seconds, usually very very close to the downed player. AOE’s, blast, and spin attacks will usually hit the thief.

2: thief drops SR to stomp, Again thief is stuck in position for a few seconds and it is usually very predictable on where the player is at. Swing, AOE, Blast in the general area and you usually get several hits on them.

rule of thumb, Don’t stop swinging for a few seconds after. Alot of times those thieves are glass cannons and got downed while you were swinging wildly.
