I can’t see why they wouldn’t restore your core game though and only remove the gems and HoT.
Why wasn’t this merged a long time ago?
I suspect the moderators working over the holidays don’t have permission to move threads, only to delete them and issue infractions.

But the rest of the “moderation” has been totally unacceptable.
Yep they often ignore what they shouldn’t (like not merging this ) or over react to something and throw the infraction/ban hammer. I often jest that the same company that that calls you at dinner to get your ducts cleaned does the moderation (outsourced) and has difficulty understanding the nuances of the english language.
Actually anet has acknowledged it and have stated fixes in upcoming patches.
Link us up to anets’ statement or, you know, the bull bell will ring.
Imo, it’s a starter zone boss and I’d rather have them devote time to work on other things.
This, but I would like to see them make attacking the portals, mandatory to get the chest or those that attack portals get better drops base or how many portals one attacks increase loot drop. Leechers would always get white.
Sure you CAN, but it is against the TOS and if you follow some of the banned threads, it’s exactly why they get banned. So you will get your friend banned. simple as that. And since your friend gave you his access and PW, he should be.
Yep—-way over priced for an expansion. ( CDN too) And from the various threads and other sites not worth it even if you could get it for $40. Sticking with the core until it is a reasonable price.

This is not a conversation only about mounts. It’s also about saving this game.
I for one know for sure that if ANET makes more money, the better the game will become. Skilled engineers working on a game that’s already good is a recipe for success.
Again, this is about saving the game and mounts is a MUST for that. I’ve already agreed to many posts suggesting other improvements. Mounts is an easy addition that will change gw2 for the better forever.
Then don’t call it Mounts will save this game. You are trying to hide behind an old topic that has been dismissed time and time again. It’s why Anet has kept all discussions about mounts merged. Start a topic about what you do to ‘save’ the game and exclude mounts. It is nothing more than an attempt to resurrect a dead topic.

Many games make their money in a short time frame by selling tens of millions of copies that will be played for anywhere fro 20-100 hours. One of the GTA series sold $1bn in three days. If you assume $60 a pop, that’s 16 2/3 million copies sold in three days. Guild Wars 2 has not sold that many copies in 3+ years. If that’s the kind of game someone wants, there are plenty out there, but none of them are MMO’s.
apples and oranges——Sure GTA 5 sold lots, but $45 billion + were sold for consoles before the PC version was even released. PC sales were much less. Most games are driven by the console boxes.
and now some have taken to sending in game e-mails with spoilers.
Just ban all the the people who are spam spoiling until wintersday activities are over with an additional 2 weeks on top.
I decided to get there ten minutes early today and, after waiting for 8 minutes or so, she spawned near the one waypoint I didn’t have on the character I was on. So I went to the closest one I did have, and by the time I got there (literally 30 seconds later), she was dead.
This is probably the 5th or 6th time in a row I’ve gone to fight KQ and missed the event altogether. Anyone else extremely frustrated by this? I can’t think of another boss event where the boss dies this quickly.
Ways Anet could improve it to give more players a chance to participate:
1: open up all the wps for your character. Take some time to explore the maps with all your toons so that all wps are available.
2: Use one of the many many many apps and web sites that have timers for the game. You will never miss a boss (unless of course you can’t be bothered to explore and open up the wps).
3: I never ever thought I would say this, but in this case LTP.
When HoT is priced realistically I will get it (20 bucks or less).
GW2 is better than ever IMO. People only come to the forums to complain (this place is terrible) I only came here because of wondering about wintersday.
And jeez to the guy above, its nothing like SWTORs gross model.
You buy HoT and you have everything unlocked. If you had bought GW2 base before it went f2p you have everything unlocked except HoT. If you haven’t paid for anything you basically have an unlimited free trial with restrictions. It’s how practically all MMOs have worked through out time. Same as WoW except no sub fee for GW2.
I was going to write more about how bad SWTOR is but…cmon if you can’t see how obvious they’re attempt to take advantage and milk cash out of their players is..I can’t help you.
You completely ignore the fact the base game was changed and things that we once part of it where removed and/or changed and put behind a pay wall (called HoT). Never mind the what they did to WvW.

I’ve spent the weekend beta testing Blade & Soul and it was like a breath of fresh air compared to GW2. Lots and lots to do, the traits tree really does make a difference to your character skills. Fights are fast and fluid. Whether it still feels good in six months remains to be seen but the game is free and not p2w.
I logged onto GW2 for the dailies and guild events and it just felt boring and slow. ANet have removed so much from the game since launch and GW1 that it just seems like an empty shell, the GW1 skill system still outclasses GW2 with its skills locked to weapons nonsense imo. They’ve done this slowly so we hardly noticed a little bit here and there. Then they made us pay the price of a full game for what amounted to very little content and maps.
I’m beta testing Black Desert Online from Wednesday this week as my search for a GW2 replacement continues but one thing is certain, I’m here only until that replacement is found. I pre ordered Black Desert as it’s b2p and was happy to do so as the world looks huge with masses of things to do. Again, I may feel differently in six months but who knows?
Have a look around at what’s on offer in the b2p and f2p market then tell me we paid a fair price for HoT.
Blade and Soul—Anet, pre-order, = No thanks.
Will check out Black Desert after it goes live and reviews come in.
And I agree about the HoT cost.
TIf anet doesn’t make money we won’t have a game anymore and you won’t have to cry about farming anymore.
At this point it might be the best option. Anet would only have themselves to blame.
Might surprise you to know that a vast portion of the gaming community do not go on or follow forums. I do because I don’t work and so I have time to play and read what the devs say and they do say a lot.
That is an opinion only and there is no way to back it up. I could just as easily say ‘It might surprise you to know that the vast portion of the original community do not go on or follow the forums because they have quit’. No way to prove your assertion or mine, so both are irrelevant. One could be described as a typical white knight post, the other as a hater post.
And yes the devs do have a lot to say, just not here.

Great overall summary, pretty fair I agree with most except forum is no where near ghost town.
It’s a dev ghost town. Lot of others, on both sides of the spectrum, post. And yes the moderating is not only “tight” but inconsistent as well.
The future huh? Well lets see what we can expect. Some outfits, some BL ticket weapons, maybe some minis, a few gliders, probably a few overpriced bundles, overpriced dye kits with poor drop rates, and gem inflation. Oh you meant in the game? Some rehashed holiday events that will probably be full of bugs and not allow us to play as a party to “stabilize pvp”.

I just close GW2 when the updates are slow and restart. Took 4times in a row tonight to connect to a speedy download. Usually it only one or two times.

Well, even the Devs know just how bad and outdated the forum software is. Anet has refused to fund a change to make it more functional. Makes sense.

This is probably my first time using the forums since the Beta Weekends, and I’m absolutely appalled at what I’m seeing.
Everyone is complaining about how Heart of Thorns is making Guildwars 2 “Pay to Win”, and how they wish they could buy the expansion with in-game gold, and all this stuff..
I’m shocked by this, and personally outraged. The ArenaNet Team did an amazing job on this expansion. Not only can you continue to play and enjoy the content for FREE, you have the option of purchasing the new expansion and enjoying the new content as well.
I feel like the community has been spoiled by what we’ve been given. It’s not like they released an expansion, and you’re automatically shoe-horned into either buying it, or being left behind. If you want the new content, buy the new expansion.
I am sincerely glad you like and enjoy it!!!!! But you have to understand that everyone who owns the game is entitled to there opinion and have every right to speak about it. Not only are many discussing it but they have brought up many legitimate concerns. Yes there are some that may be ranting, but as you have just demonstrated, the rants are coming from people on both sides!
BTW nerfing and changing many aspects of the core game is something you seem to ignore.

True, except they nerfed or completely changed/removed/destroyed/ignored many aspects of the core game that were fun prior to the introduction of the expac.
Sorry guys, allow me to disagree with you. I never thought the expansion would make GW2 this good. I was already enjoying the changes while they posted them, but the final game is much better than I anticipated.
I still believe that theory is correct. The reason you haters find each other in the forums is because players who enjoy the game spend most of their time playing it, instead of posting about it.
There is a lot of legitimate and constructive criticism in this thread. Too bad your contribution didn’t add anything to it. You like the changes, good for you, glad you enjoy them. But to lump everyone who criticizes the game as “you haters” etc only negates any opinion you have.

That price doesn’t exist anywhere over here, post a link where you can get it for that price. (maybe support will catch up with the purchase LOL).
Here there is one choice 74.99 US deluxe version which means 100.11 CDN plus CC and conversion charges. That is, frankly, obscene. The basic would work out to 66. 74 plus additional CC and exchange charges. Buying the basic game would also cause me to have to purchase an additional slot or delete a lvl 80 equipped—just not worth it. FULL games are going for less than that that, even new ones.

Stopped buying Gems with real money years ago and didn’t purchase the overpriced so-called expansion pact. Best gaming gaming decision I have made in a long time. Too bad my core game has been nerfed and changed for the worse as well.
So yes I agree with the OP—Very Sad.
Main is a ranger that has been around for a long time. The only reason I have not made the legendary bow is because of its’ My Little Pony’ flowers and rainbow kiddies cartoon theme. My various ascended are just as powerful and actually look much better. At least give us a choice of more varieties. If they can make three GS available, why not bows?

i think the problem is you opened 10 chests. that is not a large enough sample size to have any conclusive results.
This only goes to add more to all the complaints and conversations about the over the past few years that spending money on keys is one biggest wastes there is in this game.
Did you download and install the the 32 bit first, then add the 64 to the the folder? you just can’t download the 64 bit BETA and expect it to run without having the full game installed first.
