This should of been posted in the bug forums as it is a bug and needs to be fixed. The OP is trying to use this for his personal agenda which is shameful. If you know it is a bug report it, don’t try to create an ele hate thread while doing it.

I agree and support this thread.
I can understand the points of taking utility switch away, but cmon anet…? weapon/amulet swap also?
your slowly making your game require no brain at all to play. nothing much to say on the matter as you guys do whatever you feel is best anyway (personally i see/saw nobody complaining about this but you ninja nerf it anyway)

Utilities NEED to be able to be swapped, that’s why they are called Utilities!! Skills used to adapt to a situation…

If you play a TPVP team that you haven’t played before and you find out they are all running conditions so what now you are just screwed no way to defend yourself? This would be ok if we had more than 3 utilities slots… So we could plan accordingly

Ahh I can’t believe they did this… No more swapping to horn for swiftness or focus for swiftness for mesmers? Everyone just got slowed down dramatically that doesn’t have a 25% signet now. Utilities NEED to be able to be swapped out of combat… That’s why they are called Utilities!!! Hopefully I read skills wrong and it means something else beside utilities. I completely agree this is terrible what separates the bad players from good is the ability to adapt to different scenarios in one swoop they just removed this from tourneys where most players compete at the highest level (using Adaptation to its fullest).

Great job on the patch, but this is a big big shot to the TPVP heart.

I understand not class swapping or trait swapping mid game, but weapons for swiftness, amulets, and utilities need to be able to be adjusted in game.

This change just took those that now have access to 25% movement speed and just skyrocketed them past those classes that don’t.

Apparently no one knows how good this build really is.

I have rheumatoid arthritis and it’s not easy to play “well” when you have hands that don’t do what you are telling them to do…

I appreciate the time it took to put together a posting and the game-play research that in all actuality helped one person who has been a VERY long time MMO player (back to text dungeons and paper dungeons… yeah, that long).

Hey devs, look at this and build AROUND it for WvW and tournament play – I did die, but nowhere NEAR as much as I have in the past – what – five months?

In all actually, I finally contributed to an SPVP game – I may not be able to do it all the time, but at least I know there is a build that can help a disabled person’s self esteem when they want and love to play Ranger.

I’d love to have every single rune and detail, I didn’t see that in the build – intothemists.com is far better than was posted as far as telling details.

PS. I do still get owned by thieves… but in groups at least I can “survive” a bit longer.

My very first toon when the game went live was a Mesmer. I had played it for awhile but had not really gotten into SPVP until I had a toon at 80, by this time I was working on playing all the other professions in the game to learn their abilities. Started getting into TPVP as a bunker ele, and finally came back to the Mesmer recently. Wow I completely forgot how much fun it was to just confuse the hell out of people. Dodging, clones going invisible having warriors swinging in mid air while I’m stealthier laughing at them Ahaha

This will always draw me to this class and for those of you playing Mesmer for awhile just don’t forgot why you chose the class.

Bug with Immobilize

I have been but on and off since the release of GW2 with a bug from immobilize, but the last few days it has gotten pretty bad. After I am immobilized when the effect wears off my character is unable to move, again the immobilize condition is gone but my toon is bugged out and won’t move, I either have to WP away, or use some sort of movement skill. It’s even more of a problem in SPVP since you cannot waypoint out.

Another bug with immobilized I have noticed is with the warriors Kill Shot ability, a few times I have been immobilized, and used kill shot at the same time, my toon gets stuck in kill shot stance, and the ability won’t fire, keeping me locked crouching waiting for an ability that doesn’t fire. By the time I realize I am bugged again its usually too late.

I first encountered the immobilize bug (not being able to move after it is over) while leveling, when I said something in map chat a few people responded that you had to tele out (so I know others have at least encountered the bug).

I understand man you already talked about temporizing, as i said it comes with two issues, the more you delay, the closer he comes to refresh his rotation, and second, your own rotation doesn’t refresh near as fast as theirs.

And that is pressure, of course you don’t hit for 8k crit, that’s not the problem.

This is either due to too strong defensive abilities OR too fast cooldowns.

This is field experience, i’m sorry i don’t bring paper numbers along with my words but you have to trust me a bit, i’ve done my share of spvp (2077 games / 1372 wins / 1736 top stat – r42).

And as i said first good d/d eles are a minority to actually really use their build to full potential, many of them arent an issue at all since they are clueless, soon as their RTL misses they switch to water.

I don’t want good players to be punished.
But i find that it becomes too powerful within their hands, not like every class becomes great within good hands, of course. Every once in a while i get pm’d or /map hated for nerf although i’m rolling freaking dual pistols.
In this particular case we go a bit too much over the top.

And that’s the main reason why people go for d/d set, it’s the weapon set which has allowed people to get close to the mage archetype somehow.
The class has always been advertised as a versatile and strong profession, but this cannot be seen in scepter/staff/focus, where you get “punished” for leaving one attunement, with less dmg, less defense and more.

Why should we be forced to wait 50s+ to do anything worth notice while still having lowest HP and armour in game?

What you’re suggesting is that the ele should have the lowest armour, lowest health, lowest survivability and with the longest CD skills in the game

Pls list me the “defensive” abilities of a d/d ele:
1) Frost Aura? 40s CD – 7s duration
2) Shocking Aura? 25s CD – 4s duration
3) Updraft? 40s CD
4) Earthquake? 45s CD

I don’t see any short CD defensive skills, the rest come from mobility and therefore is related to the skill level of the user and what’s wrong that?
Anet has already stated that they will never nerf a profession which become effective through the use of active dodging and timing, Anet nerf things which allow the user to stand there and spamm the same button over and over….and that’s not the d/d ele case.

I believe that mobility is a necessity for a light armour profession using close range skills, but above all why don’t you explain us what ele players should use if not d/d?
Scepter?
1) Dragons’tooth= 3s activation+ red circle + enemy who stand still
2) Phoenix= 3-4s to land hit + red circle + require mele range to hit at all
3) Arc lightning = 125 pts max base dmg at 1500 Power
4) Lightning Strike = 700 dmg at 1500 power

Staff?
1) Lava font= 2s activation + red circle + enemy who stand still for 5s
2) Flamestrike = 5s burning….10s CD+ poor dmg
3) Ice spike= 3s activation + red circle+enemy who stand still
4) Lightning surge = 2s activation + LoS
5) Eruption = 3s activation+ rec circle + enemy who stand still

This classes survivability comes from mobility. UNLIKE thieves who have Stealth, and mobility. We have 10k health and light armor. If you take away our mobility we are a free kill. Trolls are coming to the forums with no real facts and screaming nerf. You can either A) Bunker and do kitten damage, or Go GC and get wrecked as a melee toon that’s squishier than thieves. It’s one or the the other not both.

I have played the elementalist since release much like these other ele players, I know the class inside and out, and I know for 100% that while bunkering, I am going to be using all my strongest spells like fire grab (45 second cool down) which hits anywhere from 800 (yes 800 damage 45 sec cd) to 2k Damage max, I have 4% Crit chance as a bunker. My churning earth usually hits for 1.5k- 2k damage with the bleeds that get cleansed immediately. No one is going to tell me different that a bunker can put out dps, considering I have 4 months experience as a bunker. My auto attack in fire hits for 350-400 damage (lol).

So please instead of wasting your time calling for nerfs to a classes one survivability method with no facts or information, to waste your efforts somewhere else. You play a thief lets talk about needing stealth, wait that’s your form of survivability??

Bad latency and disconnects

So recently I have been getting extremely bad latency followed by disconnects, I checked with my ISP and I’m pinging 15 Ms to my ISP with no problems connecting to anywhere else. Now I’m not helpless when it comes to computers but I’m definitely not über tech savvy, is there server information for gw2 that I can try pinging to see if the issue is packet loss anywhere a long the way? Would that even be the way to go for solving this issue?

Warrior is going to put out some great damage, they do not have the survivability tools like a guardian, but endure pain and shield block can usually get me through my tough times.

I see where you’re coming from. That’s just not the case at all.

And I will always fear an elementalist more than a warrior. Churning Earth can come out of nowhere.
100b needs to be initiated with something beforehand, or I can literally out-WALK it before it does any reasonable damage. It needs bolas or bulls-charge or something alike to be even considered a threat.
I’m keeping Quickness out of here, because I believe that’s the heart of the problem. Yes, that makes sense.

And it would seem we’re playing the same game, but your perspective is blinded by the amount of threads telling you sob-stories of how that one time, “a wurior chrgd meh n i deded, muz b OP”
And that’s all good and fair.

All you need to realize, is that far too many of these threads are written by people who raged because they played bad, and this needs to be justified by writing a rant on the forum.

And let’s face it. The “easiest” abilities to blame are abilities like Hundred Blades, Kill Shot, Evisc, Heartseeker, Backstab, Grenade Volley, so on. Cuz they feel cheap.
But that’s just because you lack the experience to see it coming.
You know it’s coming. Suck it up.
That’s what seperates 100b from Churning Earth.

Mate I appreciate us having a level headed conversation now, no name calling available, but without you ever even knowing me how would you say I lack the experience to see it coming? I play TPVP as an ele (no surprise there) and I also play a downer as a high dps warrior so in fact I understand he warrior very well, I have a LOT of games logged in on a warrior, and if you know how to set up 100B on a good bunker target in the middle of a chaotic mid battle (say graveyard) you can easily land the whole combo. Now all this doesn’t matter because read my posts mate I’m not complaining about warriors damage or 100B or frenzy or the combination of those at all! I’m just disputing the fact about churning earth being more frightening, then a bull rush frenzy 100B warrior that knows what he is doing, (can wait for a target to be engaged with someone else, deliberately draw out stun breaks, or dodges, or chooses a target that the team needs out of play that is at half life, by the time they react hey will be dead.) a full blown GC 100b can kill you. From 100-75% to 0 depending in hp (trust me I have done it) A churning earth is not going to kill you unless you are already about dead anyways. Now a churning earth can Definitely help wear a target down no question there if they don’t pay attention to the bleed stack yes, but kill you with 4-6k damage? No definitely not.

Anyways mate good luck out there mate maybe I will see you in some TPVP or SPVP some time.

Lol no other classes auto attacks don’t hit for 4k each of even near that which the warriors seem to think is no big deal, but to other classes that’s insane.

Either you need to play more classes or you’ve never tried going glass cannon yourself. I made a ranger just to mess around in spvp and with the default set up, I or my pet was hitting for 2k regularly on glass cannon thieves, ele’s, mesmers, warriors, etc.

Even on my thief earlier today I went D/D glass and ran into a guardian whose spirit weapon actually dropped me from 14k to downedstate in about 4 seconds. Not his attacks or anything. His “pet” that floats around swinging randomly at things.

Point is, autoattacking someone who is glass and seeing 2-4k damage each is not as amazing as you seem to think it is. If it was on a balanced character, thats different but its not the case here.

Which brings us to the real issue, imo. Frenzy.

If frenzy was the issue, QZ would be too. Frenzy+HB does nothing without bulls. Bulls+HB does pretty good damage without frenzy. If there was even an ‘issue’ here, it would be CC. All these quickness complaints are misdirected, unless you’re talking about time warp.

You honestly don’t think a 100% effective DPS increase isn’t an issue? This isn’t solely about 100 blades, either.

No mate if you read my post I didn’t say anything about 2k auto attacks being a warrior only thing, in fact my post didn’t even have the number 2 in it! Strange huh? I was saying 4k auto attacks I have never seen these by any of my GC toons.

Besides, it can already tear a glass cannon apart, like a warrior’s 100b.
Churning Earth is fairly wide aoe wise, and you can blink with it while it’s charging.
I’m infinitely more afraid of being immobilized next to a Churning-Earth casting ele, than I am being immobilized next to a kitten warrior.

Hahaha this made me Laugh out Loud. Good one, churning earth hits on an average for my non bunker specced ele for 4k damage with an 8 stack of bleed. Ooh terrifying… Immobilized next to a warrior is guaranteed death all things being equal, and no one else is around, trust me my warrior eats immobilized players. Pick your poison, he’s immobilized (in this hypothetical situation he’s not breaking the immob as you clearly pointed out by getting hit by long cast churning earth while immobilized) should I 8-15k hundred blade him? Should I 6-10k eviscerate him? Or should I destroy him with kill shot, which easily hits 8k…easily All of these warrior abilities wreck waaay harder than a churning earth Lmao. I don’t care about the HB argument on whether its op or not just stepping in to fight blatantly false information, if your more scared of being immobilized next to a churning earth ele, over being immobilized next to a GS/Axe/rifle warrior then you must never have played a match in your life against an average level warrior.

I have. The difference is, Churning Earth ends up doing 800 dps for x seconds afterwards. Oh, and did I mention he doesn’t even need to use an immobilize, he can just teleport right in, with the whole thing charged up. And then he can proceed with his usual elementalist business. Warriors have no business other than HB and Eviscerate. That’s the difference.

And nobody does to a single hundred blades, unless they’re asking for it by not using any sort of defensive abilities, walk around without an amulet, and shouting “SLAP MY BUTT WITH YOUR GREATSWORD.”

No. It doesn’t happen.

And that’s why I fear Churning Earth more. It can come out of the blue, out of nowhere and eat your face – and that’s only the beginning, we all know what happens afterwards – the elementalist poses a threat! Unlike our heavy geared friends, who don’t pose a threat anymore, after they’ve burned their HB.
Also, define an “average warrior.” He’s pressing one button. The elementalist is pressing one button. You can’t press one button wrong. Especially not when your enemy is incapable of escaping.

But hey, I can tell you haven’t played Guild Wars 2 yet. I can highly recommend it, compared to whatever korean MMO you’re playing where warriors oneshot people, and elementalists are no threat.

The hyperbole in your post is outstanding mate. The bleed after churning earth gets cleansed 95% of the time, I have actually very rarely observed the bleed tick for full.

Clearly you just like to play Mr. pity me saying that warriors do not pose a threat,look around you how many threads are made crying about 100B and killshot and complaining about warriors?? That’s right a lot of them, in fact I hazard to say you are the one not playing guild wars 2, considering how far far away from reality you seem to be. How many threads are there about you “dangerous” OP eles wrecking everyone with their godly teleporting insta-cast churning earth that has no cool down? None except for the troll thread that just showed up by the thief OP making up false facts.

But instead of attacking me personally let’s keep the topic of this very large thread about warriors and thieves, NOT eles insta gibbing people (clearly they are not dangerous with all of the forum tears and rage of warriors and thieves, clearly).

Like I have said 100B times (lol) I do t have a problem personally with warrior damage at all, I do not think it is good for the casual player base as I personally have seen a lot of rabbit finishers quit mid match because I accidentally (I don’t like slaughtering rabbits) slaughtered them on my warrior a few times.

WvW 8 players vs 1 stealth thief

I do this on my Ele all the time as a tank staff build. 10 in earth, 30 water, 30 arcane. Three cantrips, etc. I have like 20sec Protection buffs, and heal a “kitten” ton.

Granted, all it takes is a Mesmer to Mind Wrack crash me, or a couple Thieves to drop a brick on their 2 key, and I start having trouble… But yeah.

This is quite funny because all of your posts are in the thieves forums and none in the ele forums, also even funnier is how are you doing this with a staff as a staff has 0 mobility minus a little swiftness? Not only this but 20 second protection buffs do not exist on an ele I don’t care how you trait.

It’s extremely sad that you have to lie about a class you don’t even play to try and get it nerfed. Pretty pathetic.

Necro can give itself 10 stacks of might with blood is power. And I still don’t hit that high, invalid point.

I guess you didn’t read all of the post? 10 stacks of might is great and all but the point is that isn’t all warriors bring unlike the necro build you seem to be using. Warriors can build over 15. +12% damage from berserker rage, then add the vulnerability inflicted by the greatsword, and you are looking at around 400-500 extra power coming from might and about 15% extra total damage from traits and your debuff(not counting greatsword specialization trait).

And warriors only SEEM to hit super high since it occurs very quickly. They aren’t chunking 20k from people with a single weapon strike. What does your autoattack hit glasscannon fighters for? 2-4k each? So does the warrior, except he can do it faster through 100b. Which brings us to the real issue, imo. Frenzy.

Whoever did the Toymaster Tixx Concept art that is the main image on the Wintersday, I just want to let them know they did outstanding. That is probably one of the coolest pieces of concept art I have ever seen. The detail and colors look great.

I am seriously embarrassed/blown away by this thread. That thread that you posted OP is a Troll thread that was made by a non-elementalist player pretending to be an ele and spouting off false facts, and random numbers that do not add up to try and get the ele nerfed for his personal agenda.

Bunkers are strong across the board (only reason is because of the conquest game type that we are forced to play) and so Is burst. I never have a problem with eles in any of my toons in fact I run over eles.

My damage is PATHETIC when I bunker, 350 damage fire auto attacks, and 800 damage fire grabs.

All of our serious damaging spells and knockback and knockdown are on 40 second cool downs. We are the squishiest class in the game, mobility is our survival that’s all we have with our heals. Take our mobility away and you have a free 10k base health light armor kill with no way to get away from a fight. Lol I’m all bunker on this toon in tourneys, completely healing power, toughness with some vitality I am all defensive you know to…bunker. I have a 4% Crit chance lol. So no I’m not doing anything wrong 1500 damage in fire grab to a burning target or something like that, without burning its like 856.

As a player who has used thief since the start out of Beta. I haven’t used FOTM builds or such with thief, I stuck with it, despite all the changes, like pistol whip, backstab nerf twice, etc. Invisibility has to be one of the most important aspects of thief survivability. Without it, glass cannon thieves are utterly useless. In a fight against a ranger glass cannon who uses a raven, it’s all a matter of them interrupting your heal and they win. Likewise, it’s all about you landing that basilisk to get them down. At the very end, if both a thief were downed, and a ranger. The ranger will ALWAYS win because of their pet. That is why invisibility is absolutely necessary.

However, to ask for a nerf on invisibility while stomping, think about how useless a glass cannon thief would be in team fights. They could down 50 people, but unless they make that kill, it does absolutely nothing for the team. I personally haven’t had any problems with mist form on ele’s. Yes, it does suck from time to time, but in a 1v1, if you get them down first, you’re in the clear unless they get out of your line of sight.

Though honestly, the haste stomp is a bit over-powered if you have a slow reaction time. Think faster! lol, all I can say for now.

They would be like all the other class cannons in the game that can’t stealth? No other glass cannon can go invis to stomp, removing stealth stomping (which I don’t favor either way, it doesn’t bother me) would bring the thief in line with all of the other glass cannons. You can’t say it would make the class worthless because no other GC can do that and they do fine without it.

Like I said, stealth stomping doesn’t bother me either way, just pointing out that no one else can do this and they are not worthless.

I think we can all agree that the entire point of being “downed” is to be able to fight back and have a SLIM chance at surviving.

But thieves and elementalists negate this basis. What I’m getting at is how thieves can finish in stealth and elementalists can pop vapor form to become untouchable. This is an unfair advantage that makes it almost impossible to fight back.

What I plead for, silently (except now) and personally is that activation of any form of stealth or invulnerability should block or interrupt finishers. We should all have a chance to fight back to our last breath, regardless of what class we are.

My 2 cents.

Since you are/play an engineer you have to be willing to add elixir s into the list as well. Elixir S can perform invulnerability stomps as well. Don’t just make a list including all of the “unfair” invulnerability stomp options out there and leave your classes invul stomp out of it.

The new rank levels and skins to go with it are cool, but at every 10 levels being the barrier to the new skin type and new rank, once you get higher levels, ranks 1-9 of thise levels get extremely Grindy, with very long waits in between. At 45k glory per rank and only milestones every 10th rank, it becomes more of a chore to rank up, I love pvping in the mean time, but the grind for ranks gets ridiculous. People will say you love the pvp so the ranks will come without you noticing or blah blah, but when you hit rank 30/40 and look ahead to the next rank it’s more like kitten I have to do double the amount for the next rank, it becomes more daunting than fun.

This would be cool, I have some couple hundred hours logged into certain toons in the mists spvping with them day in and day out, now my guild wants to start a WVW branch that I would like to mess around in… Except all my toons are level 20 and kitten from just pvping… It just doesn’t seem right I know these classes inside and out and log tons of time into them but in WvW the other type of pvp I can’t even participate. …

I just checked this morning while bunkering… My fire grab (one of the els hardest hitting spells) is hitting consistently for 800 damage lol so no I am doing 75% of thieves burst while bunkering. This is a fake post in an attempt to get elementalists beat by a troll, completely obvious by the fact that the OP hasn’t responded to a single post calling him out, he abandoned ship because he was caught in a lie. I’m remembering OPs name and taking what he says with a grain of salt now.

Ele is earthquake>lightningflash>fire attune> ring of fire> arcanewave>Cleansing fire>firegrab>maybe roll back and burning speed. So that’s actually 7-8 skills (fire attune is in there because its a damage skill from traits), so that’s fairly fair from one shot. And once again, one shot means a single hit. Hence the numerical value one (1). And yes, all the bursts are a 2-3 sec time frame.

That’s all 3 utility spots used up for one combo for damage. Lol thieves doe that with steal/mug, cloak and dagger, and backstab heart seemed spam. How many utilities is that? I guess maybe their elite if they want but it’s not necessary.

As for the burst damage? Every class can burst, even necros and rangers.

But only Warriors, Elementalists and Thieves can one shot people.

I wouldn’t really even put eles in this category, as its not really feasible for an ele to build that way, in order for an ele to obtain that damage the have to go complete 10-13k health light armor glass and use all of their utilities to obtain that single burst. No condition removal and no defenses or utilities. Not too mention an ele has to pop all his utilities plus swap through a bunch of attunements plus the target has to be burning… A lot of pre reqs for ele burst and firegrab the skill that hits that hard is on 45 second cool down not counting utilities…

Okay to start off with a Elementalist Bunker build is a very very hard spec to play properly, in my opinion it takes timing and knowledge of the proper skills at the proper time. I love this build I currently play this build, with that said I am not calling for a nerf by any means. I would how ever like Arena Net to possibly look into this build.

Here is the build ( keep into consideration I have not optimized the Runes even though I could)

So there is the load out on the Build I run with and many others run with. Like I said this build takes a lot of paying attention and skill to play correctly and effectively. My only issue with this as I play the build myself is it is a Bunker build that does I would say 75% of the damage a Spiker Build can do. I have held down a point against 4 others (4v1) and killed off 3 before one of my teammates came in to help. This process took me roughly about 35 seconds to kill them off.

I am not even really sure how you would manage this ( as far as damage dealing ) as it would I would assume affect other elementalist not using this build, and I don’t want that I just don’t think a Bunker build should have that much raw damage output. If your build is designed to hold a point and live through an onslaught of attackers and live ( and I could be wrong here ) but shouldn’t your ability to kill them with any sort of speed not be there? I mean People have been crying about C&D/ Backstab Thieves and HB warriors being OP, when in reality they are Spiker builds and die very very easy. Just disrupt their chain and you usually win, in Bunker builds case you can’t really kill them ( I mean you can ) but they really can’t do enough raw damage output to kill you either. The Elementalist Bunker build can do the damage and is very very hard to kill and does a good job at holding points and clearing them cause of this.

I am not even sure how one would even this out with out hurting spiker ele builds. So I bring it to the forums where I know I am sure I Will get called names and told bad things to. Although I am only here saying that this in an un balance for PvP, and me playing that build and seeing what it can do I say this. Not standing there on the receiving end of this build but rather being the delivering part of this build.

Anyhow thoughts, suggestions, insight anyone maybe perhaps a Dev comment on this, not that I think it will get one lol but it is open to you guys too

Lol dude you are HIGH or something. I run that exact same build in tourneys, and I bunker mid. MY DAMAGE IS LAUGHABLE. Seriously my fire grabs hit for 1.5k on a good hit, my fire auto attack hits for 350 a piece. This spec is not killing anyone fast at all. It’s embarrassingly bad damage wise, but it is amazing at what it does, Holding a point against all the odds. If you are saying you are killing 4 players 4v1 with that build then they are bad. Im blown away right now, are you Seriously saying this bunker build puts out 75% damage of a spike build?? Stop trolling to get the ele nerfed, it’s embarrassing. I can’t even tell you the last time I hit over 2.5k damage on a churning earth or fire grab while bunkering, Let alone popped a 12k ability like 100b, or a 12k cloak and dagger, mug, backstab, heart seeker combo.

Terrible attempt at getting eles nerfed further.

So why are you so afraid of all classes having the same abilities? You don’t much care what happens to you because you know you are the alpha male in the fight against anyone who isn’t a warrior or a thief and you know you are going to just plain own them.

Most of this takes place in team fights and people have to use their stun breakers and other things to get out of other things. Either it needs a longer cooldown, a damage nerf, completely removed, or they need to buff all classes to have a similar move.

2 of the devs play warriors and they just want to gib and they know it, not everyone wants to play a warrior. I am sticking with necromancer always, it is what I want to play.

My slot 2 has the same attack speed as you, yet deals a max of 7k, while you can easily to 19k-25k. I am specced with 60% crit damage, 2200 power, I should be able to hit you witha 19k-25k, yet you have probably very close to the same stats and hit so much higher.

It’s not right, it’s not balanced for team play at all, and there should never be a combo in any game where someone can press 2 buttons and get a kill, especially with such a low cooldown. “Press slot 2 to win the fight” is what warriors are, and it really limits their play style to 1 or 2 viable builds.

Lol I’m not afraid of every other class having these abilities… In fact I main and necro and ele (I bunker ele in tourneys) and I only dream of having that burst (while non bunker specced of course). I jump on my warrior alt because after bunkering most of the time I play, sometimes I just want to not think, have fun, and kill kitten. The burst has its place in high level competitive play, but for hot join I think the burst is terrible for the game overall. Classes need to be able to burst but I don’t think new players or just anyone playing hot join just to have fun enjoys getting insta-gibbed because their stun break(s) were on cool down, and they can do nothing but watch the frenzied HB wreck them, in fact it’s just the opposite it’s not fun to be insta-gibbed. So I don’t know where you thought I was defending this burst or saying that only warriors should have this capability.

My bullrush frenzy 100B isn’t used to kill you (it very easily can) I use this combo to put out as much damage on an opponent which is just a bonus, the real reason I use this is to panic you, get you to blow your stun break, and then I clean up what’s left with shield bash (you have no stun break now) and eviscerate. This combo became 100 times more deadlier for me when I stopped using it planning on it killing people. Now it will insta-gib you if you don’t blow some cool down, but I can usually put out 8-10k damage before you can react, then I wait for you to heal and that’s when shield bash eviscerate comes out. I feel bad wrecking noobs with bullrush frenzy 100B when I’m kittening around in hot-join, because I have seen so many players with rabbit finishers leave mid match because I hit then with the combo twice (I don’t use this combo on rabbit finishers anymore) like a lot of players leave because of this combo. Now I know this combo has its place in tourneys, and like I’ve said there is no one I’d rather have roaming on my tourney team than a glass cannon warrior that knows how to set up 100B, because it can swing a group battle very quickly, but I just feel its not good for the overall population of the game. But hey that’s just my opinion.

Lol good thing you were wrecking that thief with your 87 damage channeling auto attack ability. Eles are so OP. nobody else can even come close to that damage on their auto attack, you had a good chance against that thief 12k damage in a sec, versus your 87 damage auto attack and 400 damage dust devil. hit eles Damage is clearly breaking this game.

Moving on, I don’t have a problem with thieves until they run loltrops and stealth build, where they are only visible when stealth wears off, then they immediately re-stealth just spamming dodging loltrops while stealth and using pistol one, then they stealth immediately again. If you find a really good thief that knows how to use stealth, you will won’t see him the whole fight, which is frustrating the 3 seconds they aren’t stealthed they just toss a dodge to cover themselves, with feline grace they can dodge almost every time they become visible to cover the 3 seconds of non stealth.

Well I found the reason I had been rezzing randomly, a few players in hot join (where it was happening with me) were running Rez signets just messing around. I got hit by a Rex signet twice without even seeing the player who used it lol.

I actually prefer warhorn right now in spvp and a little in tpvp. The on hand daze is good for interrupting bunker heals and the swiftness/cripple is good for slowing roamers. , two things that I love about the offhand dagger, the condition transfer on number 4 is phenomenal, especially when immobilized, and the on demand blind for number 4 for stomping. Only problem is its really only useful if your not stomping and sitting on the side assisting in a stomp otherwise it gets blown on a downed regular attack.

Focus I haven’t messed with too much, regen IMO isn’t all that great right now without some healing power (unless you are a bunker), compared to the burst that is getting tossed around by roamers. The chill is good though as is the removal of Boones which is great. Other than that I don’t use the focus that often.

So I recently started using spectral grasp in SPVP for the life force and pulling targets back into my wells. I started noticing some weird interactions with this ability and players, I’m not programmer/Dev savvy so I don’t know if its a collision issue or what. A few time I have pulled players, Ex. I was on raid of the cap, on the Beach Node, there was a thief by the shore/water area shooting me with his short-bow. I proceeded to use spectral grasp, which dragged him to me, and about a few feet away from my toon it launched the thief into the air. Like I’m talking hang time on an NFL football punt hang time. He went high enough where I lost track of him for a second, then came crashing down. Neither of us could figure out what happened, but he went way higher than the rock wall next to the node that teams come over in the beginning.

I have had this happen a few other time when pulling players, anyone else experience this?

Guardian bunker is weak to conditions, as it stands right now necros are very strong at anti bunkering, poison is deadly as hell to bunkers (destroys their healing). On my ele bunker I hate seeing a necro on a roof of Clocktower. Any bunker is weak to poisons and conditions to a certain extent, my ele bunker is more susceptible to burst than conditions, but the burst works best if I’m being distracted by other players and forced to use my cool downs before hand. If you come at me 1v1 with burst I’m going to pop shocking aura and laugh at you and then cc you and have my way with you. I honestly don’t know too much about engie bunkers, but guardians are weaker to conditions, eles are susceptible to burst when tied up. I have actually really never had any problems with engie bunkers minus all their knockbacks and control.

A D/D backstab thief, is just single target damage, where as warrior can bring high burst, that’s also AOE, as well a a good amount of CC. Cc is a huge game changed.

Lol rifle butt is op and Aoe. So useful low cool down. Stop rezzes, remove thiefs from refuge (if played well) stop backstabs. All this and the rifle is even more devastating with rifle butt and fear me, into shield bash is a lot of cc time. Either way. Rifle 3 the rifle butt when they come close start kill shot, then fear me. Game over.

God give me a warrior roamed over anyone other class and I’m happy, bull rush frenzy 100B doesn’t have to insta gib a target/bunker just get them to panic, and 95% of the time if your team knows what it’s doing with calling targets and cc’ing it will

Seriously I love bunkering mid on my ele knowing I have a warrior roamed to get my back when kitten gets too deep. The dps we can output (I play warrior a lot) is amazingly useful.

I could never see why the issue of new players getting rocked being such a big deal. That is in effect balance, the person with more skill wins. If you don’t want to get rocked, you get better at the game and beat people with your superior ability. If you don’t have that kind of motivation you shouldn’t be playing in a competitive format. For an example of a game balanced around the unskilled: Candy Land, it doesn’t matter how often you’ve played, it is random if you win.

Ideally to ease players into competitive formats and prevent complete stomps that leave some feeling demoralized you have bracketing to keep players in pools of those with a similar level of experience. Using the current system to join matches based on rank works fairly well until you get somewhat deep into ranks at this point in time. At that point your rank is so high is becomes all but impossible for you to find a match with that function, because the pool of high ranked players is so much smaller than those with lower ranks. The option then is to play in tournaments because they are more competitive.

The issue of new players “getting rocked” is bigger than you think.

Mmos need new players to sustain them, people leave games for various reasons balance and amount of fun are 2 reasons off the top of my head and either take breaks or don’t return. With the population continually dwindling over an MMO’s lifespan a big portion of the success is whether the MMO can draw new players into the game to fill gaps and sustain the population of the ones leaving. If new players are getting insta-gibbed by combos before they can even react the first time they play the game over and over, there’s a kitten good chance they are going to get frustrated and leave and not come back.

I don’t have problems with any Insta-gib combos this is not a complaint about them, and I’m not taking a stance either way, this is just a response to not understanding why new players getting rocked is a problem.

Very sure. I’ve tried the other abilities. This is the only one that doesn’t work at all. If it was lag, the others would be affected, but they are not. They all work like a charm. In fact, this is the only ability on any character that has this problem. I’ve seen others had this as well. But it appears not to be very wide spread as I hoped, because then there would be a fix. I might have to elevate this to a ticket of some sort if no one else has this problem.

I had this problem with one of my Abilities, if this isn’t in SPVP here’s the issue. You actually didn’t “unlock” the skill. It’s at 99.9% unlocked, kill a mob in water attunements and you should be set.

For me my icon was completely colored in, and when I hovered over it it said the skill name and description but it wouldn’t activate when I tried using it. I was smashing my Hotkey, nothing, clicking the ability and nothing it wasnt working. There’s a bug with the last abilities that will unlock to like 99% and you won’t see the last 1%.

Actually I noticed this too in a SPVP match, not a tourney but I was messing around on my ele trying some new builds, I got downed, went into vapor form came out of it standing up… I was so shocked I almost died right away again from not moving, I have had legitimate rallies in mist form, but this was just weird. Honestly I don’t know what happened on the other side of the map… Someone could of died that I tagged I don’t really know, I know that neither of the 3 people I was fighting died lol.

Ill tell you right now I enjoy bunkering. I love it, is it good for the game? Idk but I know a lot of people don’t like it. Personally I enjoy holding a node against 3+ people till help can come. I also really enjoy the roaming aspect.

The thing with eles are, they can pop mistform at any time. Even if you lock them, they still can run. The down skill they have allow them to run again, means fighting any decent ele takes a while even if you can effectively keep up with them and kill them.

If classes are build to be fast, and able to evade other players, they should have considerably less dps or much more risk for them to strike. They should lose 100% of 1v1 fights if they can move faster.

Immobilize DESTROYS eles. I’m running mid bunker in tourneys one my ele, and for kitten sake I hate immobilize. My heals come from dodging, my mitigation is dodging, without this there goes half of my tankiness, cantrips are on LONG cooldowns, immobilizes are way shorter. Most helpless feeling for me is fighting multiple mid battles having all cantrips in cool down and being immobilized.
