Always decide what class you want to play by looking at the armor, imo. Except PvP. In PvP it’s usually better to have an Asura so you can hide your attack animations easier. Anyways, I personally hate Charr because the only halfway-decent sets are T3 and maybe Vigil. Everything else (CoF included; that’s pretty much THE armor set for the 13 y/os of the world) is disproportionate and ugly. My vote goes to Human every single time.

Here’s why you’re wrong. You’d need to spam SY, Retreat, and Staff 3 on CD with a boon-duration set in order to perma-maintain swiftness. That’s two utilities and a ghetto solo-roaming weapon that you NEED to bring if you want to get anywhere in a reasonable amount of time in WvW. I agree 100% that our in-combat mobility is very good. However, our movespeed needs to be worked on.

My favourite solution would be taking Signet of Wrath, dropping the condition damage (because who honestly uses, or has ever used, condi) and turn it into a 25% movement speed increase.

That happens with all items exhibiting some sort of particle animation. You notice it when turned into a ghost by using Omnomberry Ghosts, too. Been like that since release

K, so gonna give a bit of advice when dying human T3. The armor itself is extremely simple in design, so you have to highlight the detailing. Namely, the detailing on the cloth parts. The dye you chose washes out any and all detailing on the cloth. That’s a no-no. There are plenty of darker reds that don’t wash out the detailing (e.g. Oxblood, Midnight Rose, Midnight Red, Rose Shade, Remembrance, Dusky), as well as more vibrant reds (e.g. Lava, Chestnut, Spitfire). Heck, the vast majority of the pale reds would work, too. Just not the over-saturated mess that a lot of people make the mistake of wearing.

Also, different dye colours on the actual armor of your gear can work, but only if you transition from darker shades to lighter shades of the same colour as you get closer to your head. I’m talking very slight changes in shades, not something drastic like Burgundy → Rose Ice.

First of all, the screenshots were taken at SW tower in one of the WvW borderlands, not PvE. No Hylek in WvW. Those were most likely venomshare thieves that he encountered.

You’re using a greatsword in WvW zerg play with a hundy hero bar setup. That alone tells me you don’t WvW much. Hammer is a far, far superior choice to the hundy heroes that get eaten up in the confrontations. The fact that you’re complaining about having to bring condition removal (pretty much the one thing you bring into PvP in any game ever) into a PvP game mode tells me that you don’t PvP much, if at all. If you don’t want to run Runes of Melandru + Lemongrass Poultry with the Condi Hate traits in WvW, then you need to bring condition removal. Lastly, it’s hardly your entire bar if you choose not to spec as such. Bring Shake It Off and then your two other favourite utility skills (hint, not bull’s rush nor throw bolas if you’re in a zerg).

It actually stuns me that I need to explain this to someone.

Standard is most certainly not PvE-only. Rushing to save a camp/tower/keep/castle in WvW and the camp/tower/keep/castle commander NPC is dead? Drop standard and they’re alive, the circle stops ticking, and the enemy zerg has to kill the NPC again while you’re pushing in to wipe them. In a ZvZ fight and a group of players gets downed for whatever reason? Drop standard and they’re alive again. Then the enemy is out of cooldowns and ripe for wiping. Why anyone would say it’s a PvE-only skill is beyond me.

The amount of tears today has been magnificent. By the end, we had hit DR on every single soul trying to get past us in the EB JP. YB finally got through by sending 20 people against our 5, and then we wiped them when we fought back through. Best night ever :-)

I remember things a bit differently from yesterday, and who wants to boast about getting wiped by inferior numbers repeatedly…had a good time fighting the Maguuma Zerg in the EB lowlands as part of a (numerically inferior) YB Zerg…daily Mist Defender in 3 mins and daily kills in like 15, and wiping the Maguuma Zerg three times when they attacked us, that was fun.

I always wonder how many of the “we wiped maguuma” posts refer to our karma train. I’d wager that it’s the majority of them.

Keep in mind that once the week rolled around, mag enjoyed a minimum of a 30k point lead on both YB and KN. Mag doesn’t have weekend warriors; we should pull ahead during the weekdays.

I’m of the opinion that spamming the horn should fall under the “Spamming” category of the report function. I report people for spamming, anyways, in the vain hope that they get hit with a ban.

I love the new matchmaking system, definitely the best matchups Mag has ever had. I love WvW so much right now it hurts :-)

Asura have probably my favourite T3 heavy set and one of my top 2 T3 light sets. However, it’s nigh on impossible to find good-looking armor sets for an Asura. The detailing gets lost in translation and any rare weapon skins are a waste of money because they’re not large enough to be visible. If you combat this by making your Asura larger, you end up looking lumpy and deformed.

Charr have two armor sets that are made for their race. The first is their T3 set, which are all decent, but nothing to write home about. The second is CoF, which is probably the tackiest armor set in the game. Well, maybe Winged is tackier. Jury’s out on that one.

Norn are gorgeous, but far too tall and disproportionate. Every move they make is lumbering.

Sylvari have absolutely stunning cultural armor, and TA looks equally stunning on them. The problem being that anything outside of plant-ish armor looks out-of-place. That said, it hasn’t stopped me from making my Sylvari Necro my second main. She’s absolutely gorgeous in her T3.-

What’s left is the Human race. Every single set of armor looks proportionate on them and can be mixed and matched to perfection. My only gripe thus far is that there does not exist a single decent pair of pants for a female light profession, nor does there exist many good pairs of pants for a female heavy profession. Part of the reason why my Guardian got a sex change back to a male. It also helps that all three of the T3 sets look very polished and all three also dye well. Definitely the most polished race, in my opinion.

tl;dr: Every race but the Human race has some sort of downfall in terms of armor choice. Since GW2 is very focused on aesthetics, why wouldn’t you roll a Human?

I doubt anyone knows who he is, given he’s from some obscure guild I’ve never heard of, but I figure this is the best place to try. Yak’s are a rare species of WvWer that have real jobs and come out after taking care of their grown up responsibilities to roll dollies and sentries.
They do not reside in their parent’s basement but originate from “the Real World”, a place where video games take second place to real life pursuits such as career, family, friends and the upkeep of their homes and other worldly possessions.

Idk where these 50+ plus where O_O because they were not with us at WK. Dii has maybe 5 WvW members, CNB at that moment we had maybe 10 of us. RE was not present, if there were it was random RE ppl most certainly not their zerg or even commander. Then there were other random guilds and what not. Kaineng never has ques for BL’s. Randomly we will, when literally are WHOLE population has to be on KBL just to handle the other servers numbers. Even on reset night NO QUES. You guys certainly had more than 20. More like 30ish to our 30-40, I have a video of the battle ^^ When we took it, it seemed like majority of you got bored and moved on. From the start it was most certainly not a 50 v 15-20. When we took it, it was probably a 30 v 20.

Not to mention the amount of AC’s, but we are not QQing. Don’t misjudge. We made a bad mistake with trying to push through a choke point. Clearly a bad move on our point and I am sure your badges can oblige. Honestly we were hitting a wall with that keep due to not being able to get though you and your siege. Finally we chose to open more walls making it more of an open field battle which worked. But as I said it seemed like quite a few of you had left by that point. You guys held those keeps very well and got A LOT of farming out of us through them, this we know. lol Yet you were just running into the group of Kainengs who don’t like to give up. We had 3 ACs at first, iirc, and then two fell to the trebs and broken wall. I don’t remember being that many of us – we turtled inside the keep because our numbers weren’t large enough to wipe the full KN zerg and because we wanted to farm badges. That would be why you rolled over a few of us on the plateau those two times. We honestly didn’t have more than 20 people for any of the meaningful engagements, though.

Tbh, I only ever see CHIPS running the Dii tag, but his badges are more delicious than most.

To be honest, Zero managed to annoy and/or offend a good portion of the WvW regulars on Mag during his time on our server. So despite whatever reason he decided to leave his guild and transfer to Kaineng, there’s still a fair share of Mag players who would love to plant a stick in his digital corpse.

There’s also many more who are still friends with me, who liked me as a commander and would welcome me back anytime. I got a lot more positive feedback when I left than negative so please don’t make things up..

I also got a message for Yak’s. How do you guys feel about a general server merge? You guys have a great NA presence, but lacks Oceanic. We have a great Oceanic presence, but lacks NA.
