Hope all those PvEers are Happy.
What I’m saying is that five players definitely should not be able to take keeps.
If it makes you feel any better. I took Stonemist with a group of 7 before.
Dude make gw2 unmuted when in the background. A little sound is played whenever the defend event pops up. So you can facebook all you want while scouting.
Is there an option for that? The only time I hear a sound from GW2 being in the background is when the PvP Queue has found enough players and it’ll sound it’s warhorn.
Forgive my ignorance (see my signature), but what is AP?
Achievement Points – every 500 AP you get, you get a chest worth of goodies and such.
Then tell the Chinese players to come over here, and tell Anet to just have the client fully support the Chinese Language.
Why anyone would actively pursue the pve dailies is beyond me.
When I am in a rush, I check the PvE dailies to see what is quick (like viewing a vista). I go grab that if there are any, and then head into WvW and snipe an enemy yak, take a tower, etc. If (and only if) I still haven’t hit 3 dailies by 5 minutes in, I do a round of PvP and call it good.
Just a quick note, selecting server only matters for World vs World (vs World) anymore due to Mega Servers combining all the servers for PvE.
That ‘leave guild’ button absolutely should not be beside the other button to stop repping. Leaving a personal guild that has no other members that can bring you back in can be devastating to your finances.
I agree with this. They should put the “Leave Guild” at the top or something, or at the VERY LEAST, make it so the 2 buttons are further apart.
Personally, I would recommend joining Tarnished Coast (TC) in the North American region. We are usually short-staffed in the EU/AUS region and could use some more of you folks to help us in the fight against crushing Blackgate (BG) and Jade Quarry (JQ).
Plus, our server has cookies!
Hnnnnnnnnnggggggg.
Grabby Hands
I love Skyhammer, and the new map looks so cool! Hurry up and release this!
Hnnnnnngh, want the new borderlands already.
TC is as guilty of double teaming as anyone else, please dont act like a victim.
We don’t work with another server by hitting the opposite side of Garri, Hills, or Bay. If we come in between JQ and BG fighting each other, it’s because we just wanna cause anarchy and mass chaos (and get lots of free bags), not work with another server.
I will also add this in regards to TC roamers. I am on BG, and I have friends on JQ and TC as well, TC roamers have a very bad reputation with players on BG and JQ because they tend to be trolling gankers, hence when we know a tc group is attacking something many players here leap at the oppurtunity to go after them because there is so much disgust towards the TC players. Its also not just the ganking, building open field siege in camps, dancing on dead players, sending hate filled private messages ( I get those a lot) I dont mind personally I get a good laugh from them, running cheese builds, and just other trolly behavior. So if your constantly running into a lot of enemy resistance when roaming, some of your server mates are to blame as well.
Bullkitten. I’m on TC and BG is TERRIBLE with their roamers. Especially your ganker “QQ” group. Your server gives constant rude private messages and dances on our dead bodies. I’ve found TC players to be nothing but cordial. Sure, we’ll interrupt a duel, but only because we believe that Duels are meant for OS, not BL or EB.
I won’t even mention the constant double-teamming from both of you servers. That kitten gets old fast.

The problem is that with the limited stamina system of the glider we’d probably not see very long aerial combat. But I do think there’s potential to include it into pvp and wvw.
Yeah, because screw seige, I’ll just glide into the Lord’s room of SMC. :P
I want to see the new Borderlands, I don’t care about the Specializations atm.
I think those should be applied to WvW. It’d help out scouting a LOT.
Give us a sneak peek of the new World vs. World Borderlands!
microsoft skips trash too.
No they don’t. They’re skipping the good version.
Vista and 8 were trash, XP and 7 were good ones.
1. TC doesn’t have hundreds of zergs running around 24/7. That’s JQ their whipped puppy server, BG. You’re getting mauled by JQ and BG, not TC.
2. You can always just delete all your characters and you’ll be able to change servers that way?
PPT will be getting the love and people interested in gearing up and GvGing will be shafted for future expansions to come. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/GvG-community-ignored-again-why/first#post4780149.
I find PPT boring as dishwater even if they sensationally ‘shake it up’ with siege disabler and golem mastery (or with rumored HoT new scoring system), i have more fun watching paint dry. GvG is just more interesting because coordinated voice-communication is a must. It is unheard of having 50% of people not coordinate on voicecoms in a GvG. In a blob fighting for PPT however, it is a rare occasion to even have 10 people call their cooldowns, call being downed or even be present on voicecom. As for the battleground layout in general, it’s all been played out already, it’s not dynamic in any way, when i first heard about WvW i was fooled into thinking capturing objectives had a bigger impact than +X points per tick for the next few minutes. If you like being a hive-mind and ‘making a change’ be my guest, just don’t get in an argument with a guild shouting at them to move from spawn because spawn tower is being taken for the umpteenth time, they don’t care for your two extra chests at the end of the week.
They tried to make capturing objectives a bigger impact, it turned into a Karma Train in EotM because of it. They need to make Defensive stands and scouting more rewarding so people just don’t go and flip stuff back and forth all the time.
Please don’t add those wings Anet…
…and put it into a separate, never intersecting “Hipster Queue” along with Spirit Watch, Courtyard and Skyhammer.
But but… Skyhammer is my favorite map! Courtyard can go burn in hell though.
but both me and my guild feel the PVE is neglected to the point it’s alienating.
The WvW players would like to have a word with you…
I kinda of agree. I spent 66 gold to trade for gems & get BL keys so i could fetch me 2 tickets & grab me a skin worth 90 gold at the Market. I got zip out of all my chest. So basically no tickets, no skin & out of 66 gold with lots of junk. kinda sad. :/
Good good, help push that gold to gem ratio down, haha.
Actually by buying gems with gold he raised the rate, not push it down.
…that makes zero sense at all. Why would the rate rise when gold is leaving the game?
So, we all know that Season 1 isn’t like Season 2, and it’s a lot harder to have players who missed out on Season 1 to go back and re-do it… but something had me wondering…
Do the Asura mess with time-travel at all? I mean, we get ported in the Fractals to an ancient Ascalonian war, why can’t it happen with the Asurans?
Basically, my idea is that they can leave Season 1 as it is, but have it broken into bits of availability.
The Asurans create a device to allow you to travel back in time to relive Season 1. This device can only be ran using gold, karma, and/or WvW badges (if people really want to find a use for those outside WvW). When it’s powered up enough, the Asura NPC will activate the device and for 10 minutes, allow players to go through the portal and back to a Living Episode of Season 1.
I never got to experience Season 1, so forgive me when I suggest something like this as I don’t know how the battles went or were fought. Were the full map-sized battles? Because my suggestion is trying to funnel players through the device and back to a special map of Lion’s Arch of when Scarlet Attacked, etc.
Thoughts?

A more concerning factor is the massive unbalancing going on between BG, JQ and TC. WvW’ers are leaving TC to join JQ or BG looking for fights which makes that at the present state of today, TC oceanic time zone is barely 30 to 40 guys against BG and JQ able to fight each other and crush TC at the same time. It becomes nearly pointless to even bother upgrading or even defending anything anymore. The double teaming doesn’t even need to be planned when the configuration is like this.
Lol, BG is the one that’s in danger of falling to T2. TC is fine, we deal with the constant double-teaming of JQ and JQ wannabes (BG) everyday and get through the week just fine.
I keep asking myself: “Why do upgrades even cost silver/gold?”
Gold Sinks.
Colors are based upon (if I recall correctly) ranking. As in, where did the server finish for that week.
As for the opponent match up, they take the top 3 servers based on the server rating shown here
I would if I didn’t have to pay a sub fee to play FFXIV…
And that’d be a bit iffy because how would you send a guild message to one message without sending it to the others?
/g1 /g2 /g3 /g4 /g5?
And some guilds have so many people, it’d be somewhat annoying to know who said what from what guild. Not bashing your idea, just trying to get more info from your thoughts and wondering how it’d work.
I should do more Silverwastes when I have time to play, haha…
I remember trying to invite you to a map Krest, when we were struggling to succeed. It was the first time doing it in over a month, but I figured it was just due to people have gotten all that they needed from the map and are tired of doing it, so it’s causing problems.
Actually, in PvE, even though players from all servers are together, the characters are still tagged for their proper server. It’d be pretty easy to have it apply to PvE as well, even though 98% of the time, it’d be used by WvW people.
Basically, if you were a Tarnished Coast player, you would only receive chatter from the TC Server chat, regardless where you were at (whether it’s guesting in another server, etc). But you would not receive any other server (like Yak’s Bend, Jade Quarry, Black Gate, etc.)
I have an idea for server chats:
Team Chat
This chat would be the main World vs. World (vs. World) Team Chat. It would function for the specified server among all 4 maps. So if a player from Eternal Battlegrounds needs help from a Borderland, the players from the borderland would be able to see it. At the moment, the top servers seem to remedy this by having external chat programs, but not everybody is able to/can use it.
Server Chat
This chat can be used by all players from their specified server regardless of where they may be. Whether its in the Heart of the Mists, Rata Sum, Eternal Battlegrounds, or in a Dungeon. Judging on previous game experiences and such features, this chat would need a high cooldown to prevent players who often spam Map Chats with their Guild Recruitment messages. My suggestion would be to have a 600 second spam-prevention timer (a player would only be allowed to send one server message per 10 minutes). This way, the chat would still be used sparingly, but (hopefully) properly. It would be used for mostly recruitment, but hopefully with moderation.
Just my 2 copper for suggestion.
Or how about you put your money where your mouth is and applied when Anet was actually accepting them rather than blowing hot air now after the fact?
People should be applauding Marmatt for putting his hand up to deal with this nest of vipers
When was there a chance to apply to become one? Forgive me for asking, I’m curious because I never saw anything on the forums about it. Unless it was several months ago or something?
From what I heard over the last couple years, Anet considered siege trolls/spies as part and parcel of the WvWvW combat system. In real world war/battles you’ll have spies, and sometimes those spies will use any means necessary in order to cause havoc behind enemy lines.
Like how YOUR server is always listening in on TC’s chats? I mean, at least tell your spies to speak up in our chat just so we don’t have to waste our time running to take your next objective.
Before making up new ideas for WvW, remember that they should NOT favor the server with more population! This is another idea that would just make the higher population servers stronger and smaller population servers weaker!
So, until ANet fixes population unbalances i say
HELL NO!How would it make smaller population servers weaker? Evidence supporting your thesis would greatly help your argument.
Use common sense. One of the only ways for a weaker server to fight a stronger one is to cut their supply lines. This often happens by sniping the dolyak, since the higher population server has (duh…) more people defending the dolyak. Killing the dolyak with even 4 players defending it is quite hard, imagine if the four players could hard ress the dolyak?
Outnumbered fights suck already because of the way hard ressing works. If a group of 5 could survive and defeat people from say a group of 20, 5 of the bigger group will just hard ress the defeated ones even if the small group could stomp them. Naturally applying the hard ress system to dolyaks would hurt smaller servers and make bigger servers stronger.
Then make the overall timer 15 seconds per route. Rezzing would take 5 seconds, but that’s if you can get to the Dolyak when enemy players are attacking. They’d be able to rez the dolyak once or twice at most before it stays dead.
Then exactly how does one do a GvG? There has to be a cap to how many can participate, because I doubt a map would do well in 500 vs. 500.
A guild of 5 people would never be able to go up against the larger guilds of 50, or 100+.
But the way I am understanding is, they don’t want a cap. They want to bring their ENTIRE guild, which just isn’t feasible. Most players would suffer from graphical and hardware lag.
What do you want? 10 vs. 10? 20 vs. 20? How would it even work? 20 rounds of 1 vs. 1? Gzerg vs. Gzerg?
The next thing is, how would players even want it? Similar to WvW (keeping towers and keeps) or just a massive Colosseum (similar to Obsidian Sanctum), that would allow spectators to watch from the stands?
Lastly, how would this affect World vs. World? How many players would it pull away from WvW?
Probably 3 weeks, and then have March be a WvW tournament (Basketball March Madness Season anyone?)
24 Servers duke it out for a week (in forms of 3), then the top 9 will for the 2nd week, and then the Final 3 :P
But yeah, since the Chinese New Year/Spring Festival lasts about 2 weeks, I’d say we’ll have this for 3 weeks.
You shouldn’t have to leave the game and investigate the rules and structure in order to participate in a limited time event.
This is the first time I participated in this event. (I wasn’t around for it the last time they had this)
I was able to pick up on what all the skills do within 2-3 rounds. I was having a blast as I played about 30 matches yesterday. I only won about 10 of my matches, but many of them were pretty close. (That feeling when you’re down 400 to 480 and you come back to win)
Also, I was awarded 2 Laurels for completing the DB daily, was it only supposed to be 1?
1 minute should be plenty if there is anyone there defending the dolly train.
Agreed. The Bulls out in the Silverwastes have a 1 minute revival timer TOTAL per route. So, if the Bull dies again, it picks up where the timer left off. Which I think would be best.

HELL NO!
Then how do you go about fixing the population imbalance?
And what exactly has the WvW community been asking? I would like to know because it sounds like you (the OP) want a Guild vs. Guild type of thing, and last I checked, a server/world is made up of MANY guilds, some of which are spread across several worlds. You can’t do a proper Guild vs. Guild in World vs. World, it’s just not feasible.
Only thing I noticed is significantly more lag since the patch. Who gives a kitten about siege skins…
Just because you don’t doesn’t mean nobody does. I find them quite enjoyable. It’s nice to see a slight change once in a while. I may have to get some Guild Fireworks later.
gw2 china is not doing as well as expected and I’m assuming this xpac is coming now for a much needed cash boost because the living story is not doing the job to keep the ship afloat.
Why would NCSoft/Nexon care if GW2 CN is doing well or not? They’re not the publishers for them, and last I heard, the publishers for GW2 CN made a lot of changes that caused it’s inevitable grave.
If only Nexon would be Gw2 publisher.
Then it would at least be f2p and populated.
I’ve played both Mabinogi (for almost 5 years) and Vindictus (3 years). I did play some Dragon Nest, MapleStory, Atlantica Online, and Combat Arms from time to time, but I will say this with absolute certainty. You do not want Nexon to be Guild Wars 2’s publisher
My best experiences of Nexon come through Mabinogi and Vindictus, and I can say that those two games are the best support Nexon provides. The MapleStory Ship has long sank, Atlantica Online has died from it’s former glory of before it was shipped off to Nexon, and Dragon Nest’s playerbase is so venomous, it makes League of Legend’s playerbase seem angelic.
Vindictus has TERRIBLE RNG, over 3 years of playing, I have only received two rares to show for it, and was often found being kicked off boats (parties) because I refused to pay for power (they sell power in the Supply Depot).
Mabinogi is rampant with power-creeping. Players can practically one-shot everything in the game or just spam pets with AoE abilities and not even touch an enemy that you once were required to use specific skills or items for. They sell direct power in the cash shop (in the form called “reforges”), tons of protection potions (for repair, upgrading, etc.), and basically all life skills (crafting) is nulled by more powerful weapons sold in Gachapons. My Rank 1 Blacksmithing in that game is worthless because I can’t create a weapon powerful enough to be on par with items sold for real money.
Lastly, ALL of their games’ population is dying. If you think the population of this game is bad (I fail to see how, considering I CONSTANTLY see players everywhere), if Nexon were to have publishing rights to GW2, then players would simply not touch the game and it would even be more of a barren wasteland.
Will this picture change anybody’s minds?
(It’s Stronghold)
Regardless, I’m buying it because I enjoy other elements outside of WvW.
World Festivals are always fun. I wouldn’t mind celebrating a few non-western traditions sometime in-game!
Only if I get a notification of “Headshot” when I fire.
They should come join us on TC. :P
There’s actually rumors going around saying that BG may fall to T2 within the next few weeks or so.
When you say wild life, are u referring to the hairy Charr ?
Shots fired.
