GW is an amazing game. GW2 is also an amazing game. Would I have liked GW with better graphics? Yes. Am I sorry with what we got in GW2? No not at all. There is plenty to like the games. You just don’t want to see it op. Also your opinions are just that. Not fact.
There is one ascalonian ghost who is gaining her free will back, but she was described as a powerful Necromancer, giving her an advantage. Still, I think if anything were to happen to the Ascalonian ghosts it would be freeing them and allowing them to move on, not making them a “race”. The Risen as a minor race makes some sense just because of the fact that it’s proven that dragon minions can be freed and coexist with the other races through he Sylvari. Though likely they would be like the dwarves and possibly the exalted, they would be a dying race with no means of reproduction.
But the Sylvari are alive. Risen are not. Hard to free a corpse.
I don’t see why it has to be lazy necessarily. Just make it a mastery that unlocks after X world map completions and then you play toward earning that. Maybe a “cartographer” mastery or something.
The only problem I see with this is the lack of mastery points, also, this would mean ANet need to find a way to track how many world completion a player has done. Then how many would be fair? 2, 3, 4 times?

Yes, it absolutely opens the path to other things. They’ve said that they don’t have any intention of selling the lvl 80 boost in the store, but whose to say that won’t change? I’m very concerned about that possibility.

Another “I’m too lazy to play the game” thread. It takes no time at all to grab waypoints. I grabbed every non HoT HC in around 6 hours with my rev. It would take a lot less to grab the important waypoints in game. If you want it, go get it. Stop being lazy and asking people to do the work for you. Next thing you’ll be asking for is a a button you press that will instantly kill any mob you encounter, because you’ve killed over 15,000 why should you kill it again?
Playable undead just sounds like forsaken in WoW. They are dead. They have no mind of there own. Spirits like the ones that inhabit Eyes of Zhitan where still under the control of Zhitan. Spirits do not remain with there body’s often in Guild Wars lore. Also I can’t see a reason to make a playable undead race. Other than just forcing one for the sake of it.i also don’t see the point in going back to Orr. I don’t see any reason to. It’s been cleansed. Life will return, but I don’t need to go there to see that. I’m not seeing the relevance in going to Orr at any point.
Go with what ever one you have more fun playing. It’s all well and good.saying what class would be best, but if you don’t enjoy playing the class then you are going to regret it.
I took a bit of a break from gw2 a couple of months back. I’ve decided to come back and play, but now my fps is significantly lower than it used to be.
I used to be able to play at around 45-60fps on high-ultra settings. Now i’m lucky if it hits 20fps. Has anything changed with the client in the past 6 months that could have caused this? Or is this something that has maybe happened on my pc?

Is the problem only with GW2? Have you tried adjusting your settings to the point where the game becomes playable? Have you had a look at CPU/GPU temps, is something getting hot? Have you checked the connections on everything? Have you updated drivers? Are you running any new programs at the same time?(remember GW2 is CPU intensive)
The OP hasn’t provided any evidence of inflation and even if there was, dailies & dungeons wouldn’t be the cause.
Gold:Gem ratio fluctuates more due to sales in the gem shop and US/Euro Christmas presents than anything going on in-game. It’s an okay measure of community wealth, when comparing year-to-year; it’s a terrible measure for month-to-month.
The amount of gold provided to individuals via dailies is trivial relative to the economy as a whole — 60g/month isn’t going to get anyone deciding to buy a coveted precursor, never mind a legendary.
The total coin available from dungeons after the patch is similarly slightly more than it was before; it’s not enough to get people buying big ticket items.
As others have said, there are lots and lots of other factors that affect ecto|mat|etc prices that also changed in the same patch.
tl;dr no, dailies and dungeons aren’t causing inflation.
The OP’s post seems more of a complaint that he can not get the stuff he wants of the gem store because the gold to gem price has gone up and wants to blame something for that.
I’ve notice that since they’ve revised dungeon rewards to increase the gold received and added a 2g reward to the dailies that the price of almost everything on the TP has gone through the roof. Legendaries are way up from what they were before as are regular crafting materials.
I’ve also noticed gem prices at a steadily increasing high over the past week, it’s now at 25g + for 100 gems.
Any form of a gold sink coming out anytime soon or can we expect prices to go into the stratosphere?
They have added a few things to the gem store as of late, plus all the mini pets, gem prices where always going to go up. Dungeons and the gold from daily achievements are not to blame. With the announcement of no more new legendary the old ones are the only ones, for a lot of them. So there prices where going to go up as the people who where holding on to gold now spend it.
I do not run zurker gear on all my characters. If I’m playing a condition class, you want gear that ups your condition damage. For example, I use carrion armor on my Berserker warrior, as he’s set up for condition damage, and he melts things. Now I’ve tryed the same set up on a warrior with zurker gear, and the carrion kills faster. I’m thinking about getting some sinister gear and seeing how that works.
The next big change of gemstore stuff should be somewhere around September (there are two big sets of style goods, that change back and forth every half a year). If i remember it right, Phalanx is part of those seasonal sales.
That’s not quite true, they change it every 3 months or so. If you look at the gem store you’ll notice the Rampagers heavy armor is no longer there, though the other armor sets that came out the same time are.
I too am waiting. I really want the Phalanx armor to finish my guardians look. Who at ANet do I have to beg?
It from GW1, in Eye of the North is the first time you go to what is now Sparkfly. All jungle in GW is know as maguma. Though technically maelstrom should be classed as the shiver peaks. As droknars forge and sledge where in the shiver peaks in GW1. Its nuat one of those things I guess.
While the 750ti is a good solid card, you might be able to get a GTX 960 for around that. When I built my new PC about a year ago, there was a £30 price difference between a 960 and 750ti. So I’d shop around.
I really like the idea of a heavy armor, rifle wearing character. A sort of big game hunter if you will. Is the rifle a viable weapon for any class at this point? I would mostly be pve with the occasional dungeons.
The flame gun build for warriors is the only rifle build I know of for a heavy, as only warriors and Engineers can use rifles. Also I use rifle while.on HoT maps, especially DS. So many red circles of death.
When you can play the game with everything on may with an i5 4690K 8gb HyperX Savage DDR3 and an MSI GTX 960 gaming 2GB. You don’t need anything more, for GW2 at least.

It is about both running very offensive builds and him doing 4x times more damage in less hits than me, both using highest damage skills available for each class.
It is about he can kill me with 3 hits and I need to land 12-15 hits to do the same.
It is about the burst disparity between professions is at 300-400%
So you need 2250 orbs, crest, etc. to craft 250 gemstones needed for a HoT legendary. Now this is not exactly a bad idea, in fact I like its a great idea but the issue is that there is NO reliable way of getting these said orbs, crests, etc. Anet NEEDS to increase the drop rate of these. One way they can do this is buy giving a guarenteed any 1-3 orb or crest from completing a dungeon path.
Promote mats, problem solved. ANet are well aware of of what needs to be added. They have an economist for this sort of thing. Currently most gems are worthless. By adding this it was given a use for all gems T5 and T6 more than others granted, but that’s why mat promotion is in the game.
There are at least two problems with that.
1) the forge’s interface is very bad for any sort of bulk operation
2) promoting through more than 1 tier is probably going to cost more/sell for less than just selling the parts
If the supply is getting that.bad, then problem 2 will not be a problem. But then maybe there’s not a problem to start with.

FOR EXAMPLE:

Unless you have 64 full character slots, you can just roll a new character. I really don’t see the point in this. This just seems like a “i want to level, but i don’t want to pay for a slot.”
I haven’t seen any Nevermores or HOPEs yet. They seem kinda rare.
Do the daily zone events on NA when I’m doing them and you’ll see a pair of HOPES No, pistol/pistol isn’t the best idea for a daredevil but I love my pew pews of light.
I’ve seen .. two? … Nevermores in the wild, and at least one HOPE that isn’t mine. What I don’t think I ever see are the misty blue weapons, like the longbow a guildie who no longer plays made back in the first year or so of the game. Sorry I don’t recall the name offhand.
On EU servers I see nevermore alot, not seen the axe or pistol yet.
Hall of Monuments weapons seem surprisingly rare. The Gnarled Walking Stick and Fiery Dragon Sword aren’t super rare, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a Wayward Wand in-person.
You basically need a combination of a person who played GW1 pretty heavily (and, therefore, probably played GW2 from the start,) and hasn’t replaced it with another skin they like more since then.
My Charr warrior, uses the Fellblade, long bow and warhorn. my necro uses the wayward wand, and my main warrior uses the torch when I’m running Berserker, and I used to use the hammer skin when playing PvP till the hammer/GS build became useless for the most part. Thinking on it I’ve used the HoM skins alot. My Engi has the rifle, thief has the daggers. Ele has the staff.
But yeah I use them because I don’t see them, ever.

It’s about clogging the “server” with access requests, you could in theory do it with a home PC.
They’re not necessary, and they’re not seriously hurting anyone.
They’re a problem for some people because they’re visual clutter they would rather not see. They’re useful because they encourage people by letting them show off, and by raising awareness of the PvP league.

Personal opinion. I see nothing wrong with them. It’s not like they are in your face. Next thing you know you’ll want mastery points hidden or titles. Really if you don’t like them disable name plates, if you must have them on, live with it. I wish I could turn of the stupidity that people say in map chat, but sadly I need to know when events are up and if people are needed in different lains ect.
That fight is quite easy, I’ve done it quite a few times solo, and with pug groups. I agree the penalty box is a pain, and should not be there for normal mode.
If you’re getting DDOS’ed, you need to speak to your ISP. Anet doesn’t come in and handle those.
My bet it’s not an DDOS and it’s a node between you and Anet having issues.
Not really my whole computer is affected by this i know it’s comming from GW2 players and my network drops from 85mpbs to 10 mbps and it takes like 5 minutes to oppen google. I know i’m being hacked by some players and thats why i’m asking the developpers to take this issue seriously
If it’s your whole computer, are you 100% sure it’s not a virus or other unwanted software dragging your system down. What other programs to you have running? Are you running any p2p programs or torrent programs that could be eating your bandwidth? Also are you always playing the same people? Funny that it only happens when you are doing well. Is the rest of your team effected also?
Since PvE should always mirror aspects of PvP, but not perfectly though.
Mainly a complaint of lack of boons used by common mobs in open world PvE, while playing with classes that can remove boons or convert them into conditions.
What I’ve found so far, Boons are pretty much restricted to PvP and Raids. Open world PvE mobs rarely use boons, apply 1 boon on themselves that does nothing (either ½ second Might or Swiftness on super fast mob moving on already max speed) or apply “boon-like imitation” that can’t be removed or is removed by other game mechanic.
Really hoping an upgrade to existing mobs, but most likely gonna happen in next expansion…
There are mobs in Orr that have boons, most in HoT had boons. But people complain when the content is too tough. Remember when mordem wolfs had retaliation? People complained they where too hard to kill. They no longer have retaliation.
So, you.miss a map, go hang out there, then complain that the time you spent was not rewarding? I’ve made 400g from.low.level maps this month alone from selling mats e.g. Wood, ore, cloth and leather. If that’s not rewarding I don’t know what is.
I have a 960 and I can play the game with everything on full and not miss a beat. I’ve never noticed any frame drops where the game would start to stutter. it’s all about how much money you have to spend, and what games you’ll be playing
So now that this game has effectively 18 classes (counting the elite specs as separate since they do add enough of an aspect to play a different role than the base class) I think its time we had a hard division between play-style roles of damage/tank and healer.
With the addition of certain specs like Druid as the IMO worst offender of non traditional stance of holy trinity mainly because of their ability to build a full berserker build and heal more than cleric guardians. This shouldn’t be possible at all.
In order to make balance happen in PvP and WvW besides having all the skills split between PvE and PvP like in GW1 there needs to be a change in how characters are built, and thats with roles and the way stats affect the character, mainly Healing Power.
Healing power has never been looked on in GW2 as a main way to play because the original “selling” point I guess you’d say is that every class can heal and take care of themselves and do damage to win fights. But as we can see today with certain specs they can really exploit what the class has given them and be extremely tanky (take minimal damage) while dealing heavy damage, or be an extremely heavy healer while also dealing epic damage.
So what I’m proposing is none of the personal healing skills of classes be changed except in how they affect allies. So you’re healing turret will still heal you the same but if you have no healing power an ally near you will get negligible healing (like around 20% of what you get out of the heal). BUT if you spec for healing power with Cleric’s gear for example then your outgoing healing will be about what is it now if you were do do the same. This way players dedicated to playing support can do a phenomenal role in supporting while pesky berserker classes can’t be healing their allies for the same as your Cleric Guard/Rev/Engi/Etc are healing you for.
Same goes for being a Tank. If you are a full berserker class there shouldn’t be a reason why another heavy hitting damage dealer is barely doing any damage unless you’re ACTIVELY using a skill to negate it (like blocks/dodge/evades). None of this 50% damage reduction or traits that take less damage nonsense that makes this entire niche of role useless because why play tank when you can do just as well with a berserker with PASSIVE nonsense like those skills and traits.
Also now with the changes to conditions that were meant for PvE and plaguing PvP/WvW make Toughness reduce damage from conditions just like it does power, and boost its effectiveness to before power creep, because playing a tank now is almost silly. Example before power creep I had an Engi with about 3.2k armor, I was a full on tank pretty much and was mainly the CC guy of the group so others could do damage, The highest hitting single target attack at the time being Thieves Backstab maybe hit me for 5k but never more than that ever, which was okay because I would never be able to kill the thief unless he just stood there. But now running the same build I’ve been hit by 16k Gunflames or Thieves Backstabs for 11k and so on and its ridiculous considering how that specific builds damage output has gone up minimally but the tankiness has gone down signifigantly.
So to end this is just my opinion because I’ve been playing this game since beta 3+ years ago and watched it evolve, and now with the elite specs and (soon and hopefully) more of them coming for every class with expansions I don’t see how this game is going to have competitive PvP while maintaining the “no holy trinity” aspect of balancing the classes.
TL;DR: Nerf base healing to allies HARD (but don’t touch player self heal skills)/Remove nonsensical passive damage reduction buffs because it makes being a tank useless if a zerk can do it better/Make healing power scale better/Make Toughness stat as strong as it used to be before power creep and make it reduce condition damage as well.
No, just no. I like GW2 because I don’t have to spend ages waiting for a Tank/healer. if you want all this that badly, GW2 is not the game you are looking for. There are many games out there that do this. If this is truly what you crave, go play them and stop asking GW2 to be something it was never meant to be.
I see a lot of folks nowadays praise taimi, and her story, but I have not once felt she was appropriate to the world of guild wars 2. Before you start brandashing pitchforks and torches let me explain.
As long as taimi lives, and is following the commander, there can be no tension to the story anymore, none. This is for all intents and purposes, a disabled child, that granted has a golem following them, but is able to survive the harshest jungle environments basically on her own. If you were to argue that she is able to survive as easily as she does, no other asura would feasibly die within tyria, as frankly a weak powerless little creature can get to the heart of the most dangerous areas without a scratch. Even with the golem argument, every single asura is able to build golems, several more technically advanced then hers ( snaff and sandy anyone? ), so it makes no sense that any asura would die.
The second most important part of this is that taimi is a child. A child for kitten’s sake! How can anyone feel threatened in a world where children wander off perfectly fine in unexplored areas. And yet we have adult characters, battle hardened for years being felled by what are to us, fairly weak minions.
I can’t say whether it was felt taimi was a good choice to include for expositions sake, just to have an asura be important in destinys edge 2.0, or to appeal to a certain market, but as long as she continues to live as arrogantly and easily as she does, there will be no tension in any of the story. No characters deaths will be realistic. There wont be any fear to anything anymore because hey, the small disabled child is fine so whats the danger.
I dunno, I’d like to see other peoples thoughts, whether im alone in this and people are fine with her antics, or if there is an agreeing crowd but to sum up, if she doesnt either a) die, or b) dissappear into a non combat role forever I wont be able to take any part of the upcoming story seriously.
To be fair, she’s almost died. It’s not like she knows she’s bullet proof. But then asura in general think the creature in Tyria are too dumb for the most part to be a threat. There faith in there tech makes them arrogant, or seem like they are care free. No.more than a Norn who thinks he can kill anything because nothing has had the best of him yet.
They are not going to make one when there is the shared inventory slots. Just saying.
People used to say they wouldn’t give us a wallet to store currencies in because they sell bank tabs and bag slots, but they did.
Of course Anet want to make a profit from the game, but I don’t think that’s the sole driving force behind every decision. Especially since in the long run keeping players happy and therefore more inclined to keep playing is more profitable.
I actually don’t mind inventory management, but when I start feeling like I spend more time going to the bank to swap items around than actually playing it gets annoying and other games start to seem more appealing because I can have more fun there.
