Horrible video. You need some lessons on how to play.
Left some loot bags on the ground, needs to work on that.
I’m terrible at that. I’m sure I’ve left at least a half dozen precursor’s on the ground.
Our thread is alive again!
I rezed it. It helped with my daily.
They were delayed until March.
Which still doesn’t change the fact that we have no clue what’s going to be in that update.
Considering ANet’s history with updates, they will not release any info (likely) until the very end of February or the early parts of March.
They were delayed until March.
No one really has a queue in all 4 maps at prime time right? I mean from like 7EST to 2 AM EST
SoR definitely didn’t last night on all of the maps. But the match is pretty much decided at this point so you lose a few people due to that.
See…this is why we can’t have nice things people!!!
Let me cut off all the drama before it starts this time.
1) Date is right.
2) Everyone PvDoors.
3) BG stay in your own thread.
4) My server A is better than your server B.
Keep it civil folks.
Score update anyone? Preferably with a map?
Guys, please. This back and forth is pointless and as we learned weeks ago goes nowhere. What’s in the past is in the past. Leave it there please, for the sake of all of us.
If you BG guys need drama so much, I’m sure Kaineng and TC are more than willing to oblige. You don’t need to come here for your fix.
BG, head back to your own thread and stop waving your kitten in front of everyone’s face. If anything, you are doing more to prove Covenn’s point than anything else.
Anyways…this all started with a few certain mesmer from a certain guild glitching into a certain keep over and over and their leadership denying it (even after video proof was presented showing it). The whole matchup and every subsequent went downhill from there civility wise.
(Sorry….I just had to stoke the fire a little bit.) Excuse me….I have to step out for a while now….
Okay. I think it’s time to say something.
bacon.
Cookies may have been the better choice of word.
And they say the hate between SoR and BG has died down…
Don’t make me laugh.
Hello,
please stay on topic. If a thread should be closed or not and how reports are handled is our decision. Such posts are disrespectful towards other users participating in this discussion. Now look what you did, you got the mod’s involved. This is why we can’t have nice things.
This is why the WvW patch was delayed a month. They are forced to babysit us instead. As punishment for our transgressions, all T1 servers will be subjected to increased culling levels and longer queues.
Nice try though, but you should probably not be disrespectful to people on your team that are actually giving it a good shot just because you aren’t.
well said, we can leave that task to you I am sure
Please don’t get passive aggressive with me.
I just wanted to add a smiley to this so I don’t feel left out.
1. We don’t fight in blobs. That is not how you counter the hammer/confusion trains your server likes to use. So this is quite inaccurate.
We didn’t even have a queue most of the night, much less a 70 man zerg.
Wow, i feel really bad for you JQ guys that had to be in JQ BL last night ( NA primetime)…. seriously…. that was pretty brutal.
Brutal in what way? Why would you feel bad for us? Soft hearted?
Unless of course, thats not what you meant all….
When I was on you had TW, Hel, CDS and a bunch of other folks running around JQ BL having fun. My guess was around 70 of you in a couple of blobs. PRX had locked down the JP and the rest of us who were around were having fun fighting you. Some of the fights around Sunny were amusing. I took off in a small man to flip some camps and stuff for my last hour. Once we switched off the pin in our small man magically we stopped meeting a welcoming commitee.
Good fights, thats why we play right?
I knew it. SF was just running interference to keep us out of the of JP.
What we need is a WvW Battle Royal. Shut down the BL’s and put every server in the same EB and let everyone just duke it out for a week.
Now that would be interesting… A giant map with 21 different PKs with a giant open field in the middle.
Score update. I guess the EU teams are going to bed eh?
Or most of us are alt training and taking advantage cause the match is pretty much wrapped up lol.
You should transfer over to SoR so you have people to fight.
Word’s can’t even describe how funny this is to me. I haven’t even seriously had to WvW this week except the weekend where we secured a lead to help our SEA/Oceanic’s out and make sure they could enjoy the CNY. Which if anyone was paying attention did affect their activity.
You should quit GW2 and switch to My Little Pony Online since you have clearly beaten the game.
I have to make a long post about how I beat the game first before I can switch to MLPO right?
Perhaps you can take the old HoD “I won the world” post and modify that for your cause?
Score update. I guess the EU teams are going to bed eh?

Hey….there’s a thought!
I would ask that EMP members not get baited into the low-class forum attacks from SOR. We need to have empathy for SOR, they are fighting a war they are not going to win. There is a good bit of anger and frustration about that.
blah blah blah stuff
SoR doesnt need empathy because we are used to fighting against superior coverage as we have been doing it for months. No real anger or frustration by anyone that has been on SoR for a while either. It is pointless getting upset about that which you cannot control.
Ya, theyre fighting with superior coverage alright. PvDing their map back after we took it and held it when we had equal numbers. Check out my outmanned buff.
Props to our Brazilian guilds out there. You guys are awesome!
Not sure what point you are trying to make here wish, but you are starting to come off a little whiny. Sure you aren’t hungry? Try a Snickers…
…. No real anger or frustration by anyone that has been on SoR for a while either. It is pointless getting upset about that which you cannot control.
Oh well that’s good, at least we have an understanding now. I couldn’t tell that from any of the 30 posts you’ve put into this thread so far.
You should work on your perception skills then
. It is quite obvious I am not mad about anything. Quite the opposite in fact.
edit: maybe i need more smileys to make my point
Well, maybe you aren’t mad about anything, maybe you are mad about everything, or maybe you are just mad…
The latter perhaps, but definitely none of the former. I take pride in the latter.
I sympathise, my own lucid moments appear to be alot less frequent lately.
You chaps have certainly been a blast to fight, just keep on banging away at JQ BL as long as you want to.
It would be more fun if SoS would make an appearance on the map once in a while and actually stay there for more than 20 minutes. 1v1 isn’t as much fun and takes a lot of the unpredictability out of it all.
I would ask that EMP members not get baited into the low-class forum attacks from SOR. We need to have empathy for SOR, they are fighting a war they are not going to win. There is a good bit of anger and frustration about that. They only have small victories to try and relish at this point. We also do not need lump the whole of SOR with this small group of SOR members.
I would also ask that the decent guilds and communities of SOR help to keep some of this in check also. (I think the bulk of SOR is made up of decent classy community members.)
Before anyone yells about “coverage”, “stacking” etc. Remember that Arenanet stated a long time ago the direction and the rules that would be in place. Near the end of free transfers, JQ (and SOS) both realized as a community that they would need to try to fill the gaps in the coverage. Both worked hard on forums to recruit and politic for their communities. We did not ask for Arenanet to change the rules for us. We worked with the rules of the game that were already in place. And just like any sports team, we “drafted” to meet our needs. Why other servers did not do this also is beyond me? The difference here is “Community.” JQ and SOS both had an organized community.
Well, PvDoor entertains them, so be it. Not going to change now that people have to pay to change their team.
They’ll get bored eventually. Especially once the new WvW progression kicks in and they have little to no ability to advance it because no one is there…
the amount of kitten in this thread is astronomical
I’m sure we can fit more…
VotF is also an excellent guild. Are they going to stay on SoS?
Come to SoR. We enjoy long walks on the beach, baking, watching movies and killing random JQ.
Has JQ won yet?
since friday why do you ask?
No kidding…surprised anyone had to ask? It was decided abut 15 minutes after reset…
Most of us on SoR play for the fights and to have a good time. We could care less about coming in first. If it happens, it happens….but it isn’t our goal each time we go out there and brawl.
I mean yeah, everyone plays games to have fun but I would expect most people on your server to consider winning a big part of that. It may not be very realistic, but the goal must be to win right?
Just not sure I am buying the whole if it happens it happens thing. People that play in T1 on one of the top servers in the game investing tons of time, effort and in game currency on something that has no reward other than winning makes the statement hard to believe. If it were true it is disappointing. I would hope that anyone in the top tier is there for the primary reason to take top spot.
Regardless…good fights!
I’m from SoR. We have won our matchup 3 times in the last 3 months or so. If the players on SoR cared so much about only winning, we would have stopped playing a long time ago. We are here to have some fun with friends and to enjoy the competition. “Winning” our matchup is clearly secondary.
haha so much rage from SoR posters, just give em a couple weeks till they settle in T1, well if they are able to resist, I just want SoS to wake up they are our real challenge
You need to try again, you missed a whole lot.
Missed what? everything started after someone from SoR posted aggresive comments, after that is just defensive and sarcastic posts, don’t play the fool buddy, seems like you don’t understand what is action and reaction, everyone is guilty of something :P but w/e, now I wonder who is getting mad heh
Yeah…some SoR poster who has hopped to a dozen different servers (and was on yours just last week) in the past two months. I would venture to guess he isn’t indicative of the server as a whole.
He’s not complaining about a 2v1, read the post before commenting. He’s saying that JQ doesn’t give up regardless of 2v1, outmanned, less skill, whatever you want to call it over the last 3 months.
What he really means is “Never fear, our night crew will soon be here.”
Seriously, I wonder how we’re #1 sometimes. Friday was an example. EB was a farm fest and JQ was running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I used to think the night capping would solve itself but seeing how bad some JQ groups run while remaining #1 means other servers are even worse or night crews are causing a lot more of the leads/advantages than people are willing to let on.
“night crews are causing a lot more of the leads/advantages than people are willing to let on.”
That’s what happens when you tick for 500+ for several hours during the day….
Yes, yes, yes, that’s been regurgitated many times. Heck, even I’ve used it. But look at the data for Friday night.
The data I have available to me is from spending the entire evening bouncing back and forth between fighting JQ and SoS. Every time we started gaining ground against one, the other would start messing with us forcing us to shift focus.
Based on my evidence and direct observations, I could rightfully claim JQ and SoS was double teaming us. Fortunately, I understand the nature of this game to realize that this most likely isn’t reality.
Our glorious 80 or so ppt Friday night would tend to agree with that assessment.
Is someone from JQ seriously complaining about a double team? Really?!?!
If you are not double teaming us I would suggest you start and never stop double teaming us… unless you do not want first place.
It is not rocket science and I do not think anyone on JQ minds the double team…it makes for the best nights possible for everyone!
Your goal should be to push us down as far as possible so that our coverage only brings us up to equal.
Just saying…thanks for lots of fun fights this weekend.
Most of us on SoR play for the fights and to have a good time. We could care less about coming in first. If it happens, it happens….but it isn’t our goal each time we go out there and brawl.
Bunch of whiners in here….the lot of ye.
Can’t even tell when you are getting trolled…
Did he just compare himself to Einstein and tesla lol.
I get the distinct feeling we are talking to Sheldon Cooper. Explains a lot really…
Bunch of “stuff”.
There is so much wrong with your “testing” or whatever you want to call it and you make so many assumptions that I’m not even going to go into it with you. We will all just have to agree to disagree on this one with you.
I’ve been a software developer for 30 years in many different capacities and I don’t agree with the OP’s theory at all.
I’ll quote myself here: Care to elaborate as to why you disagree? Dissenting opinions with nothing to back them may well not be posted.
If you truely have 30 years of experience developing software you surely know the value and importance of documentation and clear statement of reasons and evidence when disagreeing with a problem assessment.
I was responding to this: “I used this information, some educated observation (I’m a Software Engineer), and some plain old common sense to formulate my OP”
My educated observation is there was little complaints about odd queues and strange populations, then a patch, and now lots of complaints. Years of experience has taught me that however unlikely it seems, there was probably a bug introduced.
Yes, there was a patch. The patch introduced the new culling system. On the same day they also cut off the free transfers which caused all the procrastinators and those on the fence to transfer en masse. The theory presented in this thread is not that the issue started on January 28th, 2013, which is obvious, but that the issue is not a bug with the queues or an unannounced decrease in Wv3 population cap. This theory is that the issues reported are a symptom of a couple of, seemingly, unrelated changes causing not only an increase in population, resulting in longer queues, but a lower number of allied players being visible in favor of displaying enemy players, thus causing the illusion of a decrease in Wv3 population.
Assuming that all changes that are viewed by the affected population as negative are bugs is a very ignorant stance to take. Especially when the individuals who have access to the source code and are responsible for its maintenance have stated that everything appears to be working as intended.
I know the three servers in our match up are experiencing this problem (tier 3) and none of us have reported any unusual numbers of transfers in. You don’t have any evidence that such last minute transfers happened.
And in any case, ArenaNet could easily query their databases and see. All they’ve said is they will look into it.
The simplest answer is that they introduced a bug.
As a software developer you should know by now that the simple answer is rarely the correct one when it comes to systems like this.
As to the server transfer issue: You are aware that they raised the population caps on the servers in general a couple of days before the transfers were cut off specifically because of all the complaints that people couldn’t transfer to servers like Tarnished Coast and Kaineng ( in your tier currently) due to their full status, and that Tarnished Coast received a subsequent volume of transfers so high as to put them back into full status during NA prime time right? You are aware that the only reason Kaineng is even in tier 3 is due to mass transfers to begin with right? You are aware that one of the main reasons they even reset the Wv3 raitings was due to mass transfers greatly changing the Wv3 populations of many servers right?
You are aware that most of those transfers were done a week or more in advance? You are aware that most of those individuals were playing already during the match prior? You are aware that they experienced NO issues at all until the patch went live? You are aware that your answer as to why we are all experiencing issues is that Anet addressed some culling issues (actually more they addressed rendering and not culling, they are really separate items), servers got mass transfers, too many people in the JP, too many people farming Skritt, Centaurs, Krait, etc., and that the player base is far to inept as to not recognize that there are 60-70 invisible players on the map causing them to believe there is a population imbalance?
Or the alternative answer is…..they introduced a bug causing some issues with population caps and queues during the last patch.
Sorry…I’m gonna lean towards the bug on this one…
The simplest answer is that they introduced a bug.

Buddy….we aren’t missing 60-70 invisible players on a map, alright? Stop with the nonsense. They don’t appear on the screen, they don’t appear on the map as green dots. Why?? Because they aren’t there. So when I run around solo and the place is a ghost town, I’m just not seeing them, is that what you are telling me?
When our group of 15 gets run over by 40, I have to wonder why those 60-70 invisible players aren’t pulling their weight.
I’ve been a software developer for 30 years in many different capacities and I don’t agree with the OP’s theory at all.

It’s likely related to the new “feature” introduced that allows players that crash to rejoin in the dungeon they were apart of. The system is probably giving them “X” amount of time to get back in before it counts them as logged off completely and unable to get back in the dungeon. Well that system clearly isn’t compatible with WvW now is it? If you get off/crash/DC/AFK, you are off, let the next guy in.
This wasn’t happening before the patch. Now it is here after the patch. Common sense says it was the patch that caused it. HINT HINT ANET!!!!!!!! You being an ostrich on this whole issue isn’t helping you any. A simple acknowledgement that you screwed up and will fix it or you are looking into the issue will shut most of us up. The fact you say nothing only makes it worse. At least pretend you read the forums…
Fuzzion about sums it up. But id go a bit further and say they got until the beta test of ESO, if they fail by that point, people gonna be playing the beta test and not caring at all about GW2.
These last couple weeks have turned quite a few people off of the game and I know quite a few others are on the breaking point of walking away. This news isn’t going to help at all.
Guess the quaggan backpack really was the expansion worth of content.
Maybe we were supposed to open the backpack to get the expansion content out of it?
New word from A-Net on the future of Wv3: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/Upcoming-WvW-Updates/first
Issues 1 and 4 are worded in such a way as to support my theory:
- Issue 1 implies that culling is indeed a problem, and that they are steadily working towards a fix, or fixes.
- Issue 4 implies that the long queues are inherit to large player population and demand through interest in Wv3. Furthermore they are expecting them to get worse with the coming Wv3 enhancements. This also implies that they are looking at ways to make them more efficient and maybe provide some sort of time or position feedback to the player.
No they don’t….they just sidestepped the issue at hand by passing it off/ignore it. Culling isn’t even associated with the queue bug.
Thanks for looking forward to the update.
As for the queue issues… If you are on a tier 1 or tier 2 server, queues should be expected. Coverage is the reason your server is in those tiers. If you’d like to organize guild events, go to a mid tier server.
It isn’t necessarily the queues that are causing the problems. It’s the fact your server A has 30 people in the match, server B has 45, and Server C has 60 and all servers have a queue. If the cap is 60 (or whatever it is), why are server A and B not allowed more people in? Why do they have queues when they are clearly under the cap? It’s kittened up! All we get on the whole issue is silence from ANet. Likely because they have no clue what they kittened up last patch when this all started happening.
Score update 120k JQ 115 SoR 112 SoS Sos is currently making a push 325 sor 225 jq 145 sor
The end of that doesn’t make much sense, or maybe it’s just me =(
SoR is so good we have two teams with a combined tick of +470.
Don’t act like it was only JQ was experiencing that. Most guilds on SoR were partially manned and many of our leaders couldn’t get in. Everyone was having severe issues.
Also, there is no confirmation from ANET that the cap was reduced to 70. As of now that is a rumor someone started.
I heard JQ got a 50k point lead to start the match, all the queues were reduced to 15.4 players and queues are now filtering out accounts that had infractions on the forums.
True Story….At least it explains why Indo has to wait in the queue so long.
I hope it stays like that to be honest. If 70 people per map increases performance, then good. If it also reduces the number of mindless Zergs roaming around, then that is also good.
I agree with Liquid (the above poster) that Anet is doing this on purpose to get people to move realms based on the frustration caused by long queues. They have stated that one way to fix the long queue problem is to move to a lower population server. Lets say that merely saying it wasn’t enough, so they moved on to more drastic action by decreasing population sizes to cause even longer queues. I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, if I had a two hour queue, I’d move.
If this is indeed what they are doing, it should have been done weeks ago when transfers were free. Now it would just look like a complete money grab.
I think some servers are lucky if they can even get that many on at once. Many servers are stuck with numbers much lower than that.
Eventually a tier 5 match will generate enough to vault one into tier 4 thus forcing one of the the three down. That tier 5 match will be an absolute blowout and the new tier 4 matchup will blow that third server up causing them to tank in rating forcing those two up to tier three with the third server going back to tier 4 preparing for another blowout. Somehow this is “good for the game”.
I’m tired of fighting JQ at this point not going to lie. While we fight our hearts out against guilds we once fought on other servers and have good fights, we go to sleep and wake up to +400 PPT and fully upgraded keeps from Euro Prime time. I know a lot of us try so hard to prevent this from happening but there is nothing we can do. VoTF and our other Euros fight a very hard battle and I have much respect for them. I hope SOS doesn’t get burnt out and that’s why I wish to get away from JQ even if it is just for one week. Even though I always play to win or by PPT, if we continuously get matched with JQs 24/7 coverage and all matches end the same way with a false sense of competitiveness on the weekends and a complete face kitten during our coverage hole, I’m just going to start playing to kill people and hope I don’t get burnt out.
on a Side not, Good fights out there. I see a lot of improvements on all sides of the table. a lot of three way battles on SOS BL. This match-up has been awesome so far.
You make it sound like SoS has been suffering at the hands of JQ for months. Before what, like two weeks ago, didn’t you guys have like a nine week win streak? After all that winning, two weeks is all it takes for you to get sick of us?
There were weeks on end where I felt the same way with SoS, before we had our recruitment. Entire borderlands taken when I get on. But I just kept on fighting, like the rest of JQ.
I mean I’m pretty sure before the mega transfers to servers when SOS was winning the matches were very close. The only match that seemed to be a blow out was like the very first tier 1 match up SOS entered. You sorta missed my point as well. I said if this continues and I didn’t say I would stop fighting…. I will never stop fighting till I get burnt out of the game. You’ll see me and my guild + my alliance out there leading everyday. And as you said you felt the same way with SOS… SO expect us to feel that way when its worst off that’s all.
Well looking at millenium scores you are stuck with us in t5 with the same match up, unless you pick up your slack and stop QQing on forums and instead kick some more of our butts on the battlefield.
No slack to pick up bro, I’m at work and I’ll QQ where ever I want and you’ll post behind it QQing about my QQ and in the end I will be happy about it. SF guy.
Stop QQing about his QQ about your QQ. Did I just QQ about your QQ about his QQ about your QQ?

And yeah that bug has been around forever, which is why I think the map populations themselves were actually lowered. Not the bug itself was made worse, it’s just more apparent now.
So how do you rationalize this with the people reporting queues for zones where they have the outmanned buff?
The bug has been doing this forever, outmanned buff, as far as we know, is percentage related. Lower the cap and the percentage is also a much lower number (compared to before), but it’s also probably much less spread apart. Combine this with queue bug and it doesn’t take a lot of queue bugged people to cause it. There are of coarse much easier to create reasons somebody would queue into outmanned, like a guild on the map suddenly logs. Not everything is black and white.
You might be right that the population cap was lowered and that might be a independent issue contributing to the problem. The rest is pure speculation and has occurred enough different times that you really cant rationalize it as being anything but a bug with how population is determined.
There should never be an instance of there being 20 people in a zone for an hour while people outside of the zone are spending that hour in a queue. It doesn’t add up.
Are people or are persons. Thats my point, not everyone is being stuck in que. Some get in others dont. The developers have stated the system does not prioritize first come first serve. So someone gets stuck in the que comes on the forum and complains that everyone is getting stuck when the person next to him just got in. Its random. And ya possibly they lowered the max per map which exacerbates it, but then you have even numbers so where my borderline troll post plays in. If everyone is having random ques and for the most part scores and numbers are atleast even in this matchup. Regardless its coming down to best over all coverage, and team work.
It’s not just the fact that there are queues on the maps. It’s that there are queues when only 30 people are on the map when the other server has 60 and the other server has 45. Queues are just part of the game and are fine to deal with (to an extent), but the population on the three servers never being equal when all sides have a queue is just ridiculous. It sucks being that server with 30 or 45 and having people sitting in a queue when the other server is fielding a MUCH larger force than you.
I’m just curious has anyone seen anything about the ratings, or whatnot, how they are changing the math, if the millenium site is somewhat accurate or.. uh.. anything?
I woudlnt be surprised if they didnt really change anything but the ratings, but thats just me.. anyone see any news? -hopes-
They have said nothing at all for nearly a week now. Great PR group they got.
Yeah, wrong on all counts bud.
