Indo stopped playing because he has to write speeches for Obama.
I thought he moved to Nepal and became the new Dalai Lama?
OP just thinks blob has a stronger negative connotation and wants to argue semantics cuz he thinks hes better.
zergs dont have strategy. blobs dont have strategy.
What do you call a guild group of 30+ who have proper group comps/builds/gear and are in comms together? By that definition it would be neither, correct?
In T1, blob pretty much is used for a group of 60+ players that just bowl over anything due to sheer numbers alone. I’m not sure we use zerg much anymore.
The first response answered the OP’s question.
The fights have been large scale, and epic. Now, go back to your drawing board and come up with a sound argument that works.
Argument still works and is more than valid: By your own admission SoR can’t hang with the PVdoor/ppt of JQ/BG, instead of “looking for fights” in T1 (IE: your blob can’t blob their blob), you chose to blob up and Float team blob. Still not satisfied with the PPT outlook, you blobbed up once again and went to EoTM and found blobby epic scale blob fights.
Also, related: When people make comments about SoR in EoTM, it is because we recognize the zerg/guild tags friend….It is not just random shots at a particular server…
Now go back to the delusional drawing board friend.
I have a feeling that your definition of “blob” is different than everyone else in T1. 30-40 is NOT a blob to any of SoR’s guilds, which is likely where your rage is coming from. 30-40 is actually a pretty small group in T1.
I’ve been in fights where all sides have had pretty large groups. Attributing all the “blobs” to a few SoR guilds is rather shortsighted on your part.
30-40 might not be a map zerg…But I think most people would consider 30-40 a blob son.
I’d stay out of T1 or T2 then if you truly think that son. Organized guild groups get to that size on a nightly basis.
People blob up on every tier son, does not make it any less ridiculous, your point was essentially what constitutes a “blob”…Like I said most people would consider 30-40 a blob, does not matter if it is made up of a single guild, pugs, princesses, my little ponies, or skritt….I have seen fully queued maps ALL on one single tag, and that was in T8….Stop thinking T1 is the center of the universe lol…
its ok kid, we all know Mag has 40man blobs you just can’t see them since most of your WvW players are thieves.
Blobs are blobs kid, doesn’t matter what server they are on….Try again.
That’s not a blob.
Well if 80 is map cap (or so some have suggested) I guess half of the entire map population would not be considered a blob.
Glad we are in agreement.

I’d love to know who all the “SOR Comanders” are. I have yet to read one name. Lets get some public shaming going on in here.

The point of my original post was about the two of you arguing over blobs when your definitions of “blob” are incredibly different. Neither of you are right and neither of you are wrong, its all semantics. I personally don’t consider a guild group of 30 a blob as they have good organization and communication. You do. There is no right answer. Just as T1 isn’t the center of the universe, neither is T3.

FEAR moved off to FA, but they’re near dead with only 10-15 players that joined. RET left, and they had some good players, but they were small as well. They also moved to FA.
SoX left to JQ because the guild leader got paid I believe. Most of their members stayed here, so they really don’t matter. XPK also moved to JQ, and they were decent.
Overall, 4 guilds moved off, but none of them really contributed that much. The people that did move off were small, maybe 50 overall. Most people stayed loyal.I ensure you that this guy is clueless on the inner workings of FEAR. We moved to FA and we field 20-25 daily raids and 30ish on reset. We gvg 3-4 times a week and raid 5-6 times a week. We are far from dead. We moved out 65 of our 70 man roster. Also as far as us not contributing much to SOR, ask anyone that isn’t kitten on the subject. FEAR did alot for SOR and left because of Teir 1 not SOR itself. We still consider ourselves rallians, and if SOR comes to Teir 2 or Teir 1 gets better we will be back. If you want more information about my guild please check out my website.
We miss Dgin. Who’s Ace?
If you karma train in there you will be farmed….. as you progress further from your spawn the run back becomes obnoxious… so your train will thin out and then a guild group will farm you.
I am hoping people come there for karma trains.
In a true karma train, you cap and your opponent, in an unspoken agreement, decaps behind you (or vice versa). Both of you win.
Some guilds thrive on breaking these up because they like making the opponent rage. I have a feeling there will be many of these.
low tiers dont run more glass
lol
take a vacation somedayIn lower tiers I saw far more people running their PvE stuff in WvW. In general they also don’t know how to deal with a burst as well as players in higher tiers. There are of course exceptions. There are some high tier zerglings that don’t have a clue what to do other than PvD, and low tiered players that do.
How are you distinguishing high tier from low tier? My guild is primarily wvw and we were just spending time exploring the map and testing the new stuff out, which is probably what a lot of people were doing. I wouldn’t judge performances just yet.
Higher tier players, generally speaking, know what a large organized group can do and are specced and geared accordingly. Lower tier players can get away with a lot more glass as they don’t have to deal with the numbers that a higher tier server is going to be dealing with. That will not work in EOTM as these fights have the propensity to be against larger, organized groups.
Hello Smokee,
I’ve been PMed that you are an honorable man and that you seek to do the right thing for the Blackgate community and the state of T1. I salute you. However I also have information that says BG is doing otherwise. On retrospect, I think these 2 facts are not impossible to coexist. I sincerely wish you the best and I will leave the thread. My sincere apologies to the OP, I did not mean to derail the thread, this will be my last post.
FW
PS: At no point did the original post state that you were ‘pvd’, T3 keeps were not mentioned also. I’ll be honest, I find it odd that the post was inferred as such.
Hello Smokee,
Thank you for sharing your point of view. I stand on the information given to me.
Do check my post history. I never troll on the forums. Ever. The ex-IRON folks in your guild can attest to that.
FW
Please name your source or I call BS like with the rest of your post. Im not sure if you are trying very badly to troll, or you are just another brainwashed SoR player.
Please answer my questions.
Q1) When if ever did BG reset a T3 keep in EU prime during the last 4 weeks. According to you we do nothing but pvd T3 keeps during this timezone, so it should be easy for you to answer.
Q2) Who are the EU guilds transfering to BG? Name them, name your source or withdraw your BS.
With all due respect Fanwong, since you are the one making the claim that BG is acquiring more EU guilds (which is denied by Smokee, who should have more information about EU than you do), I think it is only reasonable that you provide the names of those guilds that are supposedly transferring to BG as you claim.
With all due respect Reslinal, we really can’t take anything BG says about recruiting seriously.
Sincerely,
every NA server
The leagues might be a once a year event or nothing at all. Most folks did not really want a season 2 as per the community poll.
I would not take much notice of that…
Majority of players on this forum have a negative attitude and will vote no to anything.
Devon said its was a success and players in WvW reached levels not seen since game launch for the entire 7 week period.
So hopefully there will be a league season 2, just need a few tweaks, better rewards, a handicapping system so its competitive and the achievements need tweaking a little.
While there may have been more players in WvW (PvE achievement hunter players) during the season, there are much fewer players now than there were before we had the first WvW season. If ANet considers losing population a success, then I guess they got it right.
T2 is looking more and more like T1 every day.
……I WAS on SoR…..
Sure you were…
BG is so worried about their standing in the world, they have their pugs making up posts.
DB needs the NA to compete with Maguuma’s skill groups and SBI’s map queue blob.
SEA guilds should consider FA and SoR. SoR needs to be more competitive; since they have the rational approach of not trying to buy their way to victory (BG posters mock them for it…#T1logic).
I like to think of it this way. SoR is more fiscally responsible.
You don’t want any of BGs NA guilds. They are bag donations.
I think the no vote isnt quite accurate because alot of ppl said no due to the ridiculous queues which will be sorted by next week, in which case could change the results significantly. As for me i wish they continued season 2 str8 after season 1 and so on, I cant w8 for season 2 if there will be one. And before anyone says it no i wasnt on a winner server or in tier 1 for that matter.
Very few servers, even T1 servers, have queues any longer. SoR usually has 3 maps open during NA prime. Frankly, EOTM is about 6 months too late.
I’m pretty sure 90% of the people who seriously play for PPT are relatively new to WvW. I used to be a dedicated PPT player during the first 3-4 months of the game, but eventually it just grinds you down. Once you’ve played a dozen matchups against servers both much stronger and much weaker than your own, you come to realize that it’s almost entirely about coverage and that smart play and strategy can be completely trumped by a 5am karma train.
Playing “for bags” is mis-leading too, because playing WvW for rewards is a waste of time. You’ll get 10x more gold for your time in PvE. Generally when people say bags, they mean fights.
People like to polarize these things, to make it “us” against “them”, “ppt” against “fights”. But, tbh, most people will do both if they can. I’ve spent the last year with guilds who prioritise open-field fights, which means we don’t disengage from a fun fight if swords appear on a friendly structure. But that doesn’t mean we don’t defend stuff, and it doesn’t mean we don’t take objectives either. Often the only way to get a decent fight is to bang on a reinforced door.
“Fights” guilds take a lot of flak from pugs for “not helping the server”, when the reality is they’re better at getting ppt than anyone else on the map. So many times we’ve had crap thrown at us for staying at a fun spawn-tower fight rather than coming to defend a wooden keep, but the people complaining conveniently forget that an hour ago that keep was fully-upgraded in enemy hands, and the only reason you now have it at all is because a guild group took it for you.
They also conveniently forget all those times they would undoubtedly have lost a T3 keep if it hadn’t been for a fighting-guild coming to the rescue.I would actually quite like to take part in a challenging “ppt war”, my favourite games are all RTS, but the fact is that WvW is not a strategy game. It’s a coverage game.
Very good post. So many “fight guilds” are incredibly burned out over sieging objectives is what I’m finding. A typical night used to be like this:
1) Logging in to see opponents T3 keep staring you in the face.
2) Hit said objective only to see a 50 man blob port in and promptly build 8 ACs at every door.
3) Finally break outer door down after an hour and a half only to get to inner gate which has another 8 ACs.
4) Finally break inner door down after another hour and a half.
5) Try to break lord room fight which has been sieged up to high heavens all the while opposing forces get to port in every 3 minutes. (seriously, stupidest mechanic ever)
6) Finally cap the objective after 4 hours.
7) Log out an hour later only to have the opponent cap the objective back 20 minutes after logging out.
8) Go back to step 1…
You can sit there and say “well you are getting fights”. That isn’t at all what happens. The whole 4 hour ordeal turns into a chess match with siege with placement and counter placement while the two sides sit there and stare at each other.
The point I’ve been making the whole time, is that BG has to keep recruiting guilds and can never admit that they have enough. Not until there are queues on every map at every hour can they slow down recruitment. Complacency and boredom are probably driving people on BG to PvE in droves. It’s not by chance that they killed Tequatl first; it was probably all WvW burnouts.
Keep these accusations coming some of them are just funny. Are you still bitter about BG replacing SoS in tier 1 a year later. The attachment below is not to to the mesmer, but a specific buff
it could even support it.
Please enlighten me
Please read what he wrote (and you bolded btw) and apply that to the screenshot you posted and explain to me how it could not be used to explain what he wrote.
You BG post contradictory comments all over this place. First, you said that everyone is evenly stacked, then you make a post about how people/guilds are leaving servers in droves. You can’t have it both ways.

Oh look, Chris is back to trash BG. He seems to be one of the few here who care about PPT.
On another note, please consider SoR and JQ too. Winning doesn’t mean as much these days because of BG’s clear dominance. This week could be our …………… 14th straight win?
I said BG had skilled guilds and Siggy here says I’m trashing them. Your world is an odd, sad little place.
Saying our guilds are skilled wasn’t the point you were making. Your main point was, we have no right to say we aren’t stacked. But we don’t claim to be ‘not stacked’. Please quote someone here from BG saying that?
Try reading page 1. Page 2/3 are most likely the same.
BG is a joke.
The people who think forum posters represent a server are a joke. Could you please quote someone from BG saying we are not stacked? I can’t be bothered to read all that rubbish.
So Seigfried….I will ask you the question. Is BG a stacked server? If the answer to your question is ‘yes’, then why do you continue to recruit guilds and pay them such as the three EU guilds that have transferred over in the last week?
I’m sure they told the EU guilds that there is soooooo many jq/sor EU guilds to fight!
Sor to ZD – Sorry we don’t need anymore EU guilds there won’t be much competition.
BG to ZD – Yes please come, there is TONS of guilds/ppl to fight!
^ season 1 gold league. And we all know how that turned out. (yay blowouts)Not really a good example, considering the first week of leagues had all 3 servers clogged up with 24/7 queues, making the impact another guild has really really small.
Now, SoR treated their pugs really badly and lost most of their population (and still are feeling the effects today). That is their problem and their’s alone.
JQ had 24/7 queues until they matched up against BG. Again, that is their problem and not BG’s.
We spammed map chat to high heaven our teamspeak details, while spamming recruitment messages for WvW guilds. Our WvW guilds grew and our WvW player base grew (the effects of which you can see in post-leagues results and Blackgate’s dominance). Same couldn’t be said of the other two servers at that time.
JQ still remains competitive because they are a server welcoming of new players and guilds. SoR continues to languish at the bottom of Tier 1 as their server is trying to reestablish themselves and redefine their server culture, even as their guilds are leaving the server due to various reasons.
SoR still isn’t accepting of players outside their server as evidenced by mass bans on their teamspeak during wurm fights. That kind of culture and attitude will get them nowhere.
People want to transfer to JQ and BG because we have a more pug friendly culture.
Please continue to make posts about things you know nothing about. Still waiting for my question to get answered.
Your red herring question has no bearing on the topic at hand. My post was addressing the thread topic question.
TLDR – I plead the 5th.

I noticed that BG is abusing the queue system and stacking players in a battleground when they get rolled by equal numbers.
Anet, you need to fix that bug that allows servers to bring in more players than they are allowed. The last week or so BG has been abusing this to no end.
The normal cap is 90, and the most Ive seen us stack in a borderland is around 140. But we were getting double teamed, so it was like you had 180, so I really dont see the big deal?
Come on now….BG didn’t have 90….they had a motley group of 17 players all from different guilds, uplevels, not using teamspeak , all solo roaming.
But they are all rangers. Completely OP and unfair.
Lol, Stellioz and Omen gaming are in no way a PUG group, They are a great guild and have my vote any day of the week. Silly rabbit Tricks are for Kids!
jojojoon is being sarcastic. Every post in this thread by him is poking fun at the BG koolaid drinkers who have this genuine thought that that they are indeed outnumbered in every time zone and they only win due to sheer will and amazing play.
Zerging/Blobbing works because the maps are too small. If the maps were 3-4 times the size, we wouldn’t see it nearly as much as we do. ANet has stated the game engine can not and will not ever support a larger map. Therefore, zergs/blobs will always be apart of this game. Get used to it.
If zerging\blobbing worked, SOR would be ranked #1. But it doesn’t work, that’s kind of the point of this thread. Blobs are great for steam rolling over smaller numbers, and causing server lag but it’s a terrible strategy for controlling a map as SOR seems unable to comprehend. JQ and BG’s smaller sized groups run circles around the SOR blob and while SOR can only take or defend one objective at a time, JQ and BG are taking the 2 or 3 other objectives left unguarded all at once. Keep it up SOR, you are just making this easy for JQ and BG.
JQ and BG are taking objectives unguarded because we don’t have anyone on to guard them. Coverage wins T1. BG doesn’t beat SoR because they blob less. They beat SoR because they have a larger population that covers a wider variety of time zones.
Zikory gets it.
It’s a major pain in T1. The lord should have a ICD on the banner. 4-5 mins maybe?
SoR = One huge mega blob (50-60) floating between maps during NA timezone. This forces BGs guild on the map they are on to band together and pincering SoRs megablob. After SoRs megablob wipes, it floats to a different BL.
You couldn’t be more wrong. We don’t have a 60 man float group that hops BLs at a whim. I’d love to know what guilds you think participate in this “60 man float group” that you claim we have.
Don’t be so defensive, you know everyone in T1 can’t count…Also these large float teams happen on all servers through out different time zones. SoR has ran some huge float teams but so has JQ and BG…
That’s just it though. The only guild that I see consistently tag up is Icoa.
All other guilds on BG run tagless and are guild raids. Even LP in SEA runs tagless a lot.
And all honesty, the SoR mega blob that floats isn’t one guild at all. It is literally the map zerg with a bunch of random guild tags.
It usually forms up around EU timezone slot on weekends and as it hits NA it floats way way less.
I am not QQ. I am on BG so really there isn’t anything for me to QQ about. I am just telling it from my perspective and what I have experienced playing WvW 12 hours a day Saturday and Sunday every other weekend.
During the week it is a bit different, minus floating.
That’s the zerg that forms up pre NA and post EU with the sole intent of attempting to paper everything it can to make NA less about sieging T3 keeps and bringing us more fights. Certain NA guilds on BG refuse to leave keeps if they are T3, especially after wiping to a force half their size earlier in the night. I can’t say much for JQ lately as we haven’t been fighting them all that much. They usually stay on their side of the map.

I am wondering what draws people to 5 hour Q’s, monster skillag and 80 man groups making you personally insignificant.
For points?
The rewardchest?
Being #1 out of hunderends?
A feeling of accomplishment? ^^
5 hour queues?!?! T1 is a lot different after leagues. SoR maybe queues a single map during NA prime. I’m pretty sure JQ is the same way. Lag, outisde of EB, is almost gone off the maps now with no queues.
I know people hate to admit it, but this WvW game mode is on its deathbed.
Hi Dabrixmgp,
The closest you will find to that right now is Tier 1 NA so JQ/SoR/BG. We have the most coverage for most time zones, then it gos down the tiers, T2 has less coverage then T1 but more then T3 and so on. Right now is a weird time to judge a servers population, with seasons just ending a bit ago, the holidays, new years, a lot of WvWs population is on hiatus playing other games and what not. I would suggest staying on SBI for another week or 2 to see how things work out, if they are still not what you are looking for I would suggest SoR or JQ. Both very good servers, great guilds, strong community’s, and you will always have some BG to fight.
BG zergs tend to explode on inc….at least lately. So going to JQ or SoR would ensure you a lot of loot.
Let me answer this as a player:
Consider PvP: Being able to zoom out farther than your opponent seems a definite advantage. If a PvP player can see the entire map, he/she certainly knows more, and can react differently, than those playing the game as intended (who cannot view the entire map through normal processes).
The advantage-giving provision of the program is a concern to me, as a player, as it seems clearly prohibited by the policy. " Our general policy is that anything that gives advantage is forbidden; anything that imbalances the game in favor of one player over another is strictly disallowed."
Dug this from another thread answered about 7 months ago.
Except that windowed mode and changing your aspect ratio are both features built into this game. Press Options.
Did you not read Anets response? Anything other than default zoom is an unfair exploit. End of story.
Stretching the screen is not altering the amount you zoom though. You are zoomed the same as the next guy.
ultimate domunator only achivable with 24/7 zerging with a staff guardian on vizu and maybe sfr. other titles? lol. try the yakslaper.
thos whos play from the first day and play every night with guardian or warrior have ~100k kills
i dont say 250k is too much but make lover tier titels as in pvp or in gw1.Well clearly your wrong seeing as Indo is on none of those servers – just saying.
….not to mention he doesn’t play a staff guardian either.
This pretty much says it all about their ‘policy’
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Ultimate-Dominator-List/first#post3422722A topic to discuss who has an achievement or not and it gets closed. They’re pushing us away.
They would just be smarter to come right out and tell us they are closing the WvW game mode rather than forcibly pushing us out the door while saying nothing. At least you can save face somewhat if you were honest with your customers.
Am I the only one who thought the threads were getting pretty tame as of late? After leagues, I thought the threads had died down quite a bit and have been much more focused on the fights rather than trolling. 8-10 months ago I could see making this change, but not now.
I don’t like when people report people just because they don’t like or agree with them. Seen/been victim to that too much.
I’ve gotten reported for just being in the guild TW. I’ve had individuals brag to me that they reported my posts and put “In the guild TW” in the reason and I was infracted for it.
That’s when I realized I was in the right guild. Just being in the guild insults some people.
The game is slowly dying anyway…
dude, this game is no where near close to death. I played guild wars 1 when it was REALLY dying, and Ill let ya know when it looks even remotely close to that.
While the PvE game mode may not be dying, the WvW game mode is clearly on its way out the door. Most of us are here only because we have no other options right now. As soon as something better comes out, I can see SoR dropping to a near tier 4-5 server overnight. That’s how serious many of the guilds are to leaving. If I had another game to go to, I wouldn’t be here. The utter lack of respect by ANet for this game mode and the disrespect they have shown to the community over and over (GvGs, lack of patches/fixes, etc) proves that ANet really does not care about this game mode. If they put as much effort into WvW from the start as they did into their sPvP system, this game would be in a much better place.
ANet really wants me to stop playing this game. With every patch and announcement they just keep pushing me towards the door more and more. As soon as something even remotely good comes out as a substitute to GW2 (no, ESO is not it), these servers are going to be ghost towns.
The ability for me to report posts just because of the person and ignoring the content in effect getting them banned is more trollish than me saying another server sucks. The indiscriminate “reporting” feature is the problem here, not the players.

Seriously. I don’t know what kind of “zergs” people running staff run with but zerkers is a terrible idea. Number one rule in wvw, if you are dead you are useless. And that goes especially for staff ele who is a vital part of everyone staying alive.
The whole point of staff ele is water fields and meteorshower plus attunement cycle spike. But the most important part of that is water fields. The problem is we don’t get the benefit of a reset water field because you are putting them on melee. So you need a build that will keep you alive. I used to run zerkers before the party priority on boons but it is just suicide now.
We are also apart of T1 servers where an ill timed rally can essentially rally 20 downed. I think a zerker build has more viability on the lower tier servers as the zergs there at much smaller and the DPS can be more appreciated. The better you are at placement and escapability should determine the level of zerk you run as a staff ele. I find myself going more zerk as time goes.
Deathpanel might not be able to win 1v1 with staff in wvw but i can. Haven’t tried it out after patch yet but before patch in full celestial and bunker I can win 1v1 roaming wvw solo, and no i am not talking about just taking out that are low rank.
Lol and then you woke up. Staff elementalists in wvw alone are free loot bags. Those in full celestial are even more helpless since in addition to having a bad 1v1 weapon you hit like a sponge. That fact that you try to deny this shows you are either outright lying, or just don’t know what you are talking about.
My 4k average lava font, 6k lightning surges, 5k ice spikes, 2k fireballs, 2-3k chain lightnings, 5k eruptions, and 8-12k meteors disagree. But thanks for coming to the forums.
Do you also have 5k armor and 30k hp and a magic pony? You can’t get damage numbers like that without zerk centric gear, and if you are in zerk centric gear as a staff elementalist I’d love to run into you roaming for the free loot bags. Disagree all you want, but the facts are on my side. Staff elementalists have a role to play in zergs, but 1 v 1 you’re most likely a free loot bag.
I have to agree with DeathPanel here. Unless you are playing against an absolute dolt, you aren’t going to win a 1v1. The relatively few 1v1s I win are when the guy stands in my AOE oblivious to what the red circle around his feet means.
After taking BG’s WP @ SoR BL, we started a 70vs70vs70 fight. Sounds like both BG and SoR enjoyed it. We are thinking about making it into a daily event.
To the ANet dev who follows BG around, we hope you enjoy WvW and come hangout with JQ sometime. I think gem prices is still quite cheap :-p
SoR had 70 in that fight?!?! News to us. We didn’t even have a queue the whole night on SoR BL. The TW group had 30-35 including the pugs.
They had 70 people as usual, and they cant be saying it was their 70 vs 35 so it becomes 70 v 70… duh burl, geez…
This is what we saw. I don’t see many pugs and I take your word for it. It must be the famous SoR long-name phenomenon. You guys did quite well with 35 people holding up your side of the map + Bay. We were happy to defend BG’s spawn tower and give them unlimited supply. Everyone wins?
This was earlier in the night when HIRE was still out in force. So we did have more than 35 on the BL at this point. The fights the last week have been a lot of fun. Probably the most fun I’ve had in quite some time.
Tuesday weather forecast on SoR: Slight drizzle across the ruins but 80 TW can be found having fun with their rain boots on splashing little puddles as they take their entire TW map zerg to chase down one uplevel ranger.
Rangers….the arch nemesis of all of TW (outside of gravity). Not a single one shall be left alive. Indo and Zorh went 2v1 on a upleveled JQ ranger and lost a little while back. Ever since that day, we have been told to run down any and all rangers as revenge for their embarrassment.

Just seen the rewards for winning gold league LOL enjoy your 250 finishers BG, you truly earned them,
On another note, it will be interesting to see what happens now, because the rewards are beyond shocking, and im sure every server will lose a good amount of people in WvW seeing as you could have gotten all the season rewards in PvE in far less time than the 7 weeks we had to wait.
All that gold spent on transfers for a 250 use dolyak finisher. Ouch…
