As others have stated. The solution is to make it so you can only bring someone back when you are out of combat.

If they were to add any unfortunate restrictions like that, it should be no worse than only rezzing defeated players out of combat with no restrictions reviving downed players.

We push, we kill 20 to 30 of them, we back off to heal up and rebuff, we don’t lose anybody, not even downed. We go for a second push, but everyone we downed is back on their feet throwing skills at us again. <—-repeat that and its every fight for us due to this mechanic.

I just get the feeling that many of the people in here poo-pooing this are part of the 20-30 that you just downed. It’s in their best interest to keep this as is.

I agree, and I think Arenanet would be foolish to bend over for the whiners here.

No one is saying that smaller groups should be able to wipe larger groups of the same skill level. But if my smaller group of 20 has more skill than your group of 60, I should have a chance to wipe you. As of right now, this isn’t the case.

If you want to break the zerg up and stop the current meta, you need to give the organized smaller groups the ability to wipe the massive blob. That does NOT exist currently. Everyone complains about the zerg, but they offer no solutions to break it up. Maps won’t be getting bigger and the AoE cap won’t be removed, what else is there to do besides giving the organized smaller groups the tools and ability to wipe the unorganized mass.

Maybe a compromise solution is to only allow two people to try and rez someone. It is kind of crazy that you can rez a guy in a down state before a ballista can finish them off. This has nothing to do with how big or small the zerg is as long as they can max out the allowed healers. Arrow carts can’t finish anyone off either while the enemy piles on and max healer rezzes someone while the others absorb all the AoE due to the cap. Seriously having to use a catapult to knock people off b/c of the AoE cap at 5 people exposes how powerful rezzing currently is in this game. The greater than group of 5 can rez anyone before siege can kill them. To me the number of healers allowed is the issue more than trying to make it where 20 can beat 60. It is possible for 20 to beat 60 but very unlikely unless there are a lot of arrow carts with leg lock and extreme organization which IMO is correct. However, the number of healers that can rez someone is too high for the current damage cap and siege DPS.

Or just force the healing amount to be reduced even further. Rather than healing for 600 per tick, decrease it to 200 per tick. As it is now, 6 people stack on the guy and he is rezed in 2-3 seconds or picked up from the downed state almost immediately.

Another possibility is a debuff when rezing a player. Damage to you is increased 100% or something along those lines.

3v8 fights is not where the glaring problems are with the downed state. It’s with the 20v60 fights where the problem becomes clearly visible.

If you’re fighting 20v60, you’re going to get rolled no matter what.

You can remove all of the mechanics that you want. The only thing that will save you at that point is the port home, assuming you haven’t removed that as well.

There is clearly a skill gap then between tier 1 and tier 2 if that is your thought process because that is NOT what happens when a coordinated guild group goes up against the zerg in tier 1.

Downed state is fine. If the small man team is truly better than the larger group downed shouldn’t be a problem. Voice com teamwork and you should be able to win. 3 v 8. You down 1 person that means another goes to Rez not doing damage. It then becomes 3v5. With 2 people basically not doing significant damage and sitting ducks.

If your small man is organized the the only people attempting to stomp are those that can stomp the best with the lowest risk of dying, thieves, Mesmers, warriors with stability, engi etc.

Our group of 15-20 takes on larger groups of 40-50 all the time. We usually can hold those groups up for a good 10 minutes if not more easily before we are finally widdled down or are forced to retreat. On the opening engagement we can down about 10-15 of them while not losing a single person ourselves. The problem is that of those 10-15 we are able to only down a couple of them while the rest are power rezzed up by their back lines. The current downed state plays to the massive zerg right now. Smaller groups can’t keep up with the ability of the zerg to rez players.

I think allowing only out of combat players to res/heal downed players is a good start. Keep the rally mechanic though.

SoR or BG – probably more so SoR. Honestly my answer is “Not JQ”

It fluctuates.

For right now, it is SoR. Four or five weeks from now when the new transfers to BG realize nothing has really changed and they are still getting dominated by JQ and they start meandering away from the game, we will likely be back to SoR and BG needing the players again.

This is BGs…..5th or 6th server (I seriously have lost track) that they have absorbed and it always ends the same in the end.

Um, little bit of advice to you guys. In t1 we tend to not use a lot of berzerker gear. Most characters like to use soldiers gear, or PVT armour. You can get it though karma vendors in orr, a couple of dungeons, and you can also get them with badges.

Usually Sunday morning just to hang out with them and have some fun. I know of no extra effort put forth during the week though.

This has happened to us on SoR as well. There is some sort of bug with the cap numbers. There are instances where we are forced to man mode a gate because we can’t place anything down at all including rams and golems. It’s annoying.

Not saying you are lying but do you have screen shots from other angles? At least one with the arrows from the arrow cart?

Your screen shot doesn’t prove that the circle on the left came from the arrow cart and not someone who is off screen. Arrow carts are generally built where that one is to kill enemy arrow carts that are behind the gate by seeing through the hole in the top.

Does my SS prove anything? I mean you can even see the arrows coming down in it.. But fir rilz, where do you stick an arrow cart outside that door that can drop the center of the red circle behind the guy on the arrow cart for JQ in front of the green door?

Looks like a lot of the same old tactics to me. Blob up, veil and then pure chaos with just spamming abilities individually. There didn’t seem to be any coordination at all in that blob.

Veil rarely works any more, at least in tier 1 NA. You essentially scream to your opponent “This is where we are definitely going”. It makes it so easy to avoid the initial bull rush and then CC your back line and you just lost half your force in the opening engagement.

Glad to see SF is coming to SoR BL. It seemed like BG pulled every BL into SoR last night while ignoring the other two???

Is that supposed to bother me? I play GW2 to have fun, I’ll stay on JQ as long as they put as much effort into WvW as I do. If they just stop trying I will leave. When I log on I get in TS, I run siege, I will stay in a tower for ages just to keep a look out, I’ll stay in a tower building siege for hours while others are out collecting bags and having fun.

But I dont have some misguided allegiance to a server because of internets honor. Who gives a kitten ? I will give my all to JQ and EMP because they are worth giving my time to. If EMP turned into a PvE guild I would leave. I wouldn’t think twice. Just as I would expect to be kicked from the guild If I didnt make any effort.

So yeah sure I jumped on the bandwagon and im having a blast.

Talk as much kitten as you like, The score tells a different story. JQ and EMP are here for the marathon not the sprint. Same story unfolds every day, you guys go ahead and watch every map burn just to ‘try’ and get +1 on a single Tower or Garrison. Beacause the only way you can ever achive anything is to throw all your numbers at it. Its not a secret, you know it your opponents know it and everyone who looks at the score knows it.

/laugh emote only makes you win in your head. Look at which server is #1 NA and learn form them. Spend some time to study their tactics, find out why JQ is winning almost every week and try to counter those tactics. Maybe get someone to make a rousing speech and add some dramatic background music to disguise the trembling in their voice. Above all though just try to have fun.

There is no point venting your frustrations on the forums. Talk is cheap, prove everyone wrong and win Tier 1. Show everyone who’s boss!

JQ has real quality leadership, community and players they can talk the talk but can also walk the walk.

We have been forced, as gamers, to take these situations up ourselves. We try to clean our own communities with our own initiative. No member from any server would want to be associated with said activities. Everyone strives for legit gaming and to at least have a positive lime light around them.

Until you guys supply us with a better means to report people, we will be forced to report these matters to each others’ communities in order to keep things the cleanest as possible on our own ends. We only do this because we do not possess an in game mechanic that can properly do this in certain instances. You will have to forgive the 3 communities you have here for making things known as public and making individuals walk the walk of shame to the best of our ability to show that we as gamers will not tolerate such activities within our gaming experience. FOO is really the only skilled guild on JQ. Not saying there aren’t other “good guilds” out there full of average to better than average players but FOO is more on the level of “elite” and really the only real competition out there from JQ server for some of the heavier WvW guilds on SoR.

When FEAR and TW setup the GvG against FOO on Sunday, Indo and Irmo pretty much acknowledged that FOO is the best and only thing that JQ has to offer as far as competition goes. And even then overall, they went 9 and 3 against them. Once Indo logged on, they actually went straight 8 and 0. Waha is a pretty cool guy apparently, even while fighting them, people were talking to him in tells and talking about him in map chat. I think it’s fair to say everyone respects Waha a lot on SoR.

There are 4 extremely skilled guilds besides FoO on JQ that I know of, and probably a few more I don’t know or have forgotten. If you don’t know who they are then you don’t play enough WvW.

I seriously never understood the whole “I’m going to say JQ sucks except FoO” comment anyways. Are folks that insecure that they have to say things like that? And it’s usually people from crap guilds or who aren’t even relevant in T1 anyways.

You don’t see many JQ folks on here knocking entire servers like that. And we never have. Some of you need to start acting like you know how to play and learn what ‘skilled play’ actually is. I’m embarrassed for some of you folks.

I would say SF (when they aren’t out there running 500 necros) can put up a decent fight most nights. I’d like to know who you think is extremely skilled.

No. I am not going to post on behalf of other guilds and open the up to trolling. You can’t even give SF props without a backhanded compliment. Why bother? If you honestly don’t know, then maybe you and they play at different times. I have a very specific 4 in mind, and SF is one of them. They’ve gotten my respect since their days on SBI when I sought them out to find good fights back then.

I think you took my post WAY out of context. SF has their fun nights where they screw around and have fun doing wacky stuff. When they aren’t trying to melee a door down or running around with 500 necros and are playing their balls to the walls full on they are a pretty good force. That was my point. Take a chill man.

Considering that SoR only know’s how to run in 1 gigantic zergball of 80+, I can see how an SF team of 30 (or what you would consider 500 necros) could be tough for your server.

Put a mini pet in the store that sells for 2k gems. This mini pet picks up all your bags automagically. You would have a gold mine with this.

You clearly played rappelz. And you know that game made tons of mistakes (bugs, wrong decisions), Anet do not copy anything rappelz did, they are the masters of failure (understatement). Loot pets cause more lag, bugs, not picked up loots, more name tag overhead on screen etc.

Have you played tera recently?? Their pets work extremely well

I haven’t played rappelz or Tera, so I have no clue what either of you are talking about. I’m just tired of having to retrace my steps through a massive battlefield to attempt to find my bags all while our group is about to roll out again so I end up leaving 10 bags behind. Imagine all the precursors left on the ground in the form of bags/chests. I have a dream that one day going forward, not a single bag or chest will despawn!!!! All vendor trash will be accepted and sold or salvaged properly.

You will find no sympathy from most of the people here. Most people here want the JPs removed completely from WvW.

It may have started as a casual thing to do in your spare time to get away from the PvE and sPvP, but they are starting to finally realize that this play style has a very hardcore following. They are finally starting to give it some attention now and I fully anticipate getting more attention in the future.

I think they underestimated the popularity WvW would have. Imagine if they put in all that effort up front in WvW, rather than 7-8 months down the road.
