Can you ask her to email forums@arena.net with her username so I can review?
Greetings all!
Yes, this is a proper contest. To answer the OP about why it is US based only, it is because it is a partnership contest run with US TV Networks.
Here’s a thread in the Bugs section of the forums which should help: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Personal-Story-Down-The-Hatch-Bugged
If you continue to have issues, please reply to that thread.
This topic is for flood control. If you wish to discuss your infraction itself, you can submit an appeal to forums@arena.net
If you wish to discuss flood control, yes.
Wait, why did I just get infracted for discussing flood control related forum policies?
No, you were infracted for discussing your infraction. If you wished to discuss flood control only, that’s fair as that is on-topic to the thread. Contesting your infraction is not appropriate.
Closing this thread as it is a derail from the original poster’s issue. Since you already have a ticket on this issue, please do not create a new thread. Your ticket received an update on Saturday, so please be patient.
This post was unlocked to continue the discussion of the WvW title, “Ultimate Dominator”.
In the future, please email forums@arena.net if a thread is locked in error.
You can send an email to community@arena.net and our team will review. Thanks!
Greetings all. While we do not mind respectful criticism, personal attacks and derogatory comments directed at our staff will not be tolerated. Please stay on-topic and respectful. Here is a good guide to giving feedback: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/How-to-Give-Good-Feedback
As the others have said, your previous username did violate our Forum Code of Conduct.
Could you possibly set the ‘Support’ forums to neither be limited by nor trigger flood control? Its excruciatingly annoying to have flood control block you from trying to get help with a support issue. Or to have dealing with a support issue cripple your ability to interact in the more general topics areas.
Alas, our forum software does not allow for that. And the best place for Support assistance is the Support System.
As your active infraction points expire, you will start to regain more forum privileges. As example, if you currently have 900 second flood control, as your points start expiring, the flood control numbers will go down.
It’s the same with other forum privileges.
Let me know if you see a dev playing guardian.
They always seem so bored in their videos when they talk about the guardian.
Me 5 minutes ago. Shout out to the folks hanging out with me!
Closing thread as this is not about forum or website issues.
For some reason nearly all Anet players I see are Rangers.
I’ve been tooling around on my Ele & Necro today.
Yea, I would go back to playing my necro too if I had the ability to use a dev menu for getting around.
No Dev Menu on the live servers. We get around the same way as everyone else.

Greetings!
The Community Team is launching new initiative, in partnership with the rest of the Guild Wars 2 team! We’ve heard your requests for more interaction and answers to so many questions. We want to give you the chance to ask questions and receive answers directly from the developers, artists, musicians, technicians…everyone!
Starting in January, we’ll be creating new posts every other week on a variety of topics. We’ll leave the threads open for a few days, so we can gather questions from the community and pass them over to the teams. Once we get the answers, we’ll bring them to you! Our plan is to localize all this into German, French, and Spanish, so everyone can participate equally across each of our forum communities.
You may wonder, how does this work in combination with our current collaborative development initiative currently on-going on our forums? We want to use the CDI forum threads as a place to discuss design theory, concepts, and general high-level discussion with our community. They are discussions, and are not intended to be a place we talk about what we’re working on, what we might work on in the future, etc. The Dolyak Express initiative is intended to give a place where you can ask questions relating to development that simply require answers, rather than discussion, and to provide them in a way where all of the community, in all languages can get access to the answers to those questions
To give you an idea how this will all work: the Community Team will be gathering numerous questions from the forums, which includes the German, French, and Spanish forums, whittling down the questions to a manageable amount, and presenting it to the Developers. We plan on answering all types of questions, so you can get a feel for what it is like working in a game studio. We hope that giving you a glimpse into the development process will be a win for everyone.
A few tips on asking questions which are more likely to get answered:
Ask open-ended or broad questions
Questions that are less specific allow the developers to give better answers. Very specific questions lead to short answers that may not be as well explained as they could be.
Yes/No questions provide no room to expound beyond “yes we will do that” or “no we will not”.
*Bad Example: Why won’t you fix x?
*Good Example: I feel that x is not as fun as I would like it to be. How do you feel about this mechanic, and are there any plans to address x to improve playability based on my perception that it’s not fun?
Avoid questions that have been recently answered
If you’ve seen a question answered within the last few months, chances are the answer isn’t any different than before. If you’ve seen us state previously that we cannot share details about a topic on other threads or in interviews, please do not ask it again.
We’ll have an archive of all the topics with the Q&A, so you can go back and see the topics we’ve previously discussed. This should help keep down the duplication of questions.
Don’t ask “when”
Asking when is much the same as asking a yes/no question. Typically, we either can’t say when yet or have already announced the date. Asking when limits the type of answer a developer can give.
If you don’t have a question, but would just like to give feedback, please read this stickied post, “How to Give Good Feedback” and create new threads in the proper sub-forums. This will help keep the discussions focused, and be more likely to encourage Development/Community interaction.
Don’t make assumptions
Example: mechanic X is clearly broken. This is an objective fact, so why aren’t you fixing it?
This question is making an assumption that the development team agrees with you that X is “broken,” when that might not be the case. Your question might rather be “What are your thoughts about X as many feel it is important to Y?”
Be respectful
The developers are taking time out of their workday to answer your questions—time that could be spent working on the game. Please respect their time and ask questions in an appropriate way. We absolutely will take questions which reflect negative criticisms. However, you should do this while avoiding insults and rude comments.
*Good example: “I do not enjoy X, what prompted this design?”
*Bad example: “Why does this suck so much?”
The Community Team is launching a new forum initiative, to create and support a more inclusive and safe space for our players. We have upgraded our backend systems to add in different infractions, plus implemented new guides on how to interact on the Guild Wars 2 forums. We’ve written a helpful guide about giving constructive feedback, called How to Give Good Feedback, so the Developers can read and consider your thoughts & ideas. We’ve outlined the updated Forum & Moderation changes/punishments with Guild Wars 2 Forum Moderation Updates, giving suggestions on how to help keep the forums a more positive & helpful place.
With this in mind, we’re making some drastic changes to the WvW Match-ups Sub-forum. As of the New Year, we’ll be shutting down the Match-Ups Sub-forum. This sub-forum was originally created for the WvW community, to help with communication and discussion about the world match-ups. We created this at the community’s request, and it has helped keep WvW Discussion on-topic to the game play, versus discussion about the matches. That being said, the sub-forum has become a very toxic place, full of continued violations of our Forum Code of Conduct, despite regular and repeated warnings to the players involved.
When we created this sub-forum, we did so under the agreement and understanding that your posts would abide by the Forum Code of Conduct. Whilst we have always allowed for more teasing & “smack talk” in this sub-forum, the toxic and abusive behavior in this sub-forum has gotten entirely out of hand. Our Moderation & Community Teams spend an inordinate amount of time dealing with numerous threads & posts that are full of:
- Insulting players, guilds, and servers
- Name-calling
- Accusations of hacking, exploiting, & griefing
- Off-topic discussions
- Image spamming
- Hate Speech
It is disappointing, to say the least.
With that in mind, the Community Team will be removing this sub-forum in the New Year, to go hand-in-hand with the other changes we’re making. We encourage leaders in the WvW community to take the initiative in creating your own communities to host these discussions. Some options you could consider:
- Current WvW communities hosted by players
- WvW subreddits
- Community hosted forums
- Community hosted fansites
From now through the beginning of the New Year, we’re implementing a new change. As soon as a thread starts breaking the Forum Code of Conduct, we will close the thread. If new threads are created and go off the rails, we will close them, too. We wish for you to be able to wrap up your discussions and focus on bringing your postings in the WvW forum to a more constructive place. Any match-up threads created outside of the Match-ups Sub-forum will be removed and the original creator infracted.
Please take the time to review our Forum Code of Conduct if you have not lately. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/rules
Please remember the following text from our Code of Conduct:
Forum moderators have full discretion to address any behavior that they feel is inappropriate. Your membership and participation in these forums is a privilege and not a right. ArenaNet reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to these forums and/or to the game itself at any time for reasons that include, but are not necessarily limited to, your failure to abide by this Code of Conduct

Greetings all,
In October, we had some discussions and updates regarding our Moderation & Moderation Enforcement policies. We had a good discussion on this thread and Martin gave an update on how we decided to process attacks on our staff. At the time, there were a few different threads asking questions about the Community Forums and Moderation. We promised to pull together your feedback and get back to the community with an update. With this in mind, we’d like to share the following updates and offer up some better guidelines and expectations.
Forum Structure Changes
We will be making updated forum structure changes. We’ll be opening a new Profession Balance sub-forum, but merging/archiving some of the less used sub-forums. We will be completely removing the WvW Match Up sub-forum. You can read more details about this change here, Upcoming Forum Changes to WvW Match-ups Sub-Forum. We believe that by streamlining the forums, it will make it easier for you to leave feedback and our Development Team to find said feedback. We will also be updating each sub-forum’s stickied threads, which should help players find help much easier.
Regarding Moderation
Many passionate players gave their feedback in the various posts; many more offered up their opinions via our forums@arena.net account. There are many players who lurk on the forums, or feel that the forums have become more toxic over time. We always strive for inclusive and welcoming spaces for our community. Many players wished to know more about how moderation works and better descriptions for when the Moderation Team is handling posts and threads.
We’ve been working together to update the messaging and change some of the processes. We started closing some threads when we’ve heavily moderated them, but left the good parts intact, instead of removing the whole thread. Of course, we still remove many which are full of violations regarding accusations of hacking, exploiting, griefing, and the like. These threads never go well, so we remove them entirely. Sometimes we make simple edits to posts. These happen when someone makes a good post, but maybe takes a pot shot at another player or a developer. We’re continuing to refine and rework our processes and responses, so we appreciate your patience while we implement the new changes.
Regarding infractions & punishments, please review the stickied post, “A Message About the Infraction System”. This is a good overview of how the Infraction System works. The Community Team has updated some features on the Guild Wars 2 Forums which give us a tiered system of forum privileges & access based on number of infraction points. We decided to offer this tiered approach so players lose various privileges versus receiving harsher suspensions and permanent bans.
The tiered approach covers implementing flood control (how often you can create threads/reply to posts), and disabling attachments, signatures, private messages. In some cases, we disable your ability to create threads entirely, but only allow you to reply at a very slow rate. As one stacks up infraction points, the tiered approach to forum privileges kicks in.
In the past, we haven’t always handed out infraction points, hoping that many players would change their posting habits. With the aforementioned issues with toxicity, we have started implementing points in the system, which will now lead up to permanent forum bans after the tiered system kicks in. We’ve also started doing monthly account reviews, for those of you with an excessive amount of infractions, regardless of your points. We have been notifying those folks to let them know their account is in danger, to give them an opportunity to review our Code of Conduct and get back on track.
We would like our players to consider their posting habits and encourage following the Code of Conduct. We are confident that this approach is more conducive to guiding a more positive experience for our community. With a more positive approach, we’re also going to be pushing out a new Community Team driven initiative. Yes, a wee tease to let you know we’re working on some upcoming changes to the forums and a new way for you to all have a chance to get your many questions answered. For now, you can review our new guide, How to Give Good Feedback
As this question was answered, we are closing this thread.
How long have you had your forum account?
Yah, we’d like to update more fixes on the back end, but really, once the numbers are sorted, it’s all good.
Thank you Danicia, it’s appreciated.
Oh, and for anyone that may be wondering, I will only post the haiku one more time here, in spoiler tags, and with Danicia’s expressed permission to do so if it’s determined to be relevant to the overall discussion in this thread.
I would recommend folks PM you with the request rather than posting it. Also, your account should be accurate now.
Volkon, let me check your points to verify they’re correct. You should have already had a reduction in points after our discussion.
Making things clear would be highly appreciated.
If I am allowed to make side notes too then as a side note I would say that making things clear is all I am asking for in my email appeal, with no still answer from your part, but I would be perfectly fine with you clarifying things on the forums instead of replying to my ticket.
Apologies for not responding; it’s been pretty busy with the new updates and all. What I can say, which might help others caught in this scenario:
It is never appropriate to incite the community to spam any of our communities. Whilst we understand it was a joking comment, it unfortunately led to many people coming to one of our official Community Channels to cause disruption. We understand it was not your intent to do so, but we had to call in extra staff to help moderate the Livestream chat.
This also meant that those who showed in good faith, with good questions, were buried under the mess created. It is frustrating for the viewers and for our staff.
We treat any post which asks people to abuse our communities equally. We simply do not tolerate it and reserve the right to shut down said abuse in whatever means we need to do so.
While this all sounds harsh, the effects of such a small joke impacts our staff’s time and work, and on the other player’s experiences.
Does that help to clarify?
This is not a “Game Bug”, therefore this thread will be locked. Please refrain from off-topic posting. If there is topic you would like to discuss, feel free to create a new thread in the appropriate sub-forum.
As a side note, we are preparing an updated post regarding this and numerous other changes. It should make things more clear for everyone.
If you wish to discuss flood control, yes.
Howdy again,
We don’t give out the numbers, because too many people will game the system.
It wasn’t that you wrote a haiku, it was the content which was problematic. Flood control will drop off over time. That time is based on how many active infraction points you have at one time.
As this thread has more trolling, name-calling, and rude comments than an actual debate, we’re closing it. Please be sure to familiarize yourself with the Forum Code of Conduct. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/rules
Since this thread has devolved into too many insults and rude comments, we’ll be closing it. If you wish to start a new clean thread, that stays on-topic and clean, you’re welcome to do so.
Krait, art is something that many cultures use to express themselves and explore ideas. It can be practical like making clay plates to hold food or it can be just for it’s own sake.
Here, this is a piece of art I made for you to express how awesome you are!
The Community Team is squeee’ing with love over here looking at this.
I hope Krait comes back. Krait is most entertaining.
We’re closing this thread; please continue posting on the thread listed above.
Since this is a duplicate, we’ll just let the link redirect stay and close this thread.

Most likely your posts were merged into other threads, as we have numerous threads about the same topic. You would have received a PM noting why/where your thread was moved. If it was a thread which was deleted, you would also receive a PM telling you why it was removed. If you have further questions, you can email forums@arena.net
Hello all. We do not mind the feedback, positive & negative. Please do not insult or personally attack other members of the community. If they were being rude to you, or insulting you, please report the post instead of replying in kind.
Greetings! Pardon this off-topic post, but I am assisting in getting this thread working again. Carry on!
If you witness any of these acts while playing, please report them using the in-game ticketing system so our Customer Support team can properly investigate the issue. You can also report someone in-game.
Hello all,
The Developers are reading these posts and we are gathering feedback. This is a reminder, as I’ve already had to edit one post. Please do not discuss exploits, discuss how players may have used exploits, and keep these topics clean. We do not want to have to shut down more threads because they dissolve into name-calling, rude comments, and other violations of the Forum Code of Conduct.
Greetings all,
We are closing down this thread, as it has gone way out of scope of the original post. If you wish to give feedback about the Fractal changes, you should visit the Fractals sub-forum located here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/fractured
When you give feedback, please be sure to keep all personal attacks, name-calling, and accusations of exploiting, hacking out of your posts. If you have any questions about this, you can review the Forum Code of Conduct here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/rules
Please send an email to forums@arena.net to discuss. Thank you.
also…why is this thread in general discussion and not under the new fractal update where it belongs?
Don’t want to accuse anet of hiding/deflecting our concerns….but if it looks like a fish and it smells like a fish…
Because this is where the OP made it and we’ve been using it to gather feedback from those who are unaware or do not post in the Living World sub-forums.
Howdy all!
Just talked to Evan about this and yes, it’s legit. Invitations have been sent out and you should have received more than one email about the topic. It’s imperative that you read all these emails so you know more about the process (and how it’s not phishing/spam/et al).
Please be sure to leave your feedback on the currently existing thread here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Fractal-levels-above-30-to-be-reset
We have a feedback thread already existing, Please post your feedback about the changes in that thread here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Fractal-levels-above-30-to-be-reset
There is a feedback thread which exists, for the Devs to monitor. Please be sure to leave your feedback on that thread. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Fractal-levels-above-30-to-be-reset
If you remember not to remove topics just because they give negative Feedback.
Kthanks.
As long as it is respectful and doesn’t include violations of the Forum Code of Conduct, it won’t be removed.
