I wouldn’t really like this idea. Almost every other mmorpg-game has that enchanting system and in the end everybody has a weapon that glows. No variety what so ever.
In the end everyone in Gw2 has a weapon that glows…. The problem is that it always has the same skin.

There has been more than 1 occasion in recent days I have seen discussions among commanders, in /m and /t chat, about FSP players (not about specific ppl, just our players in general) that have taken a derogatory tone.
I’d like to point out that while a zerg with no commander is nothing, a commander with no zerg amounts to even less. 100g buys you a nice shiny blue triangle but it does not buy you respect or a god-given right to have people worshipping at your feet.
You would do well to remember we’re all just playing a game and no-one here is better or worse than anyone else regardless of whether or not they possess the ‘blue shiny’.
So pull your heads out of your kittens and just get on with playing the game please.
I dont agree with you here on this, i’ve been playing a lot of WvW the last 2 weeks (8-10 hours a day) and we got some very talented Commanders on FSP and they really know what they are doing.The problem is that people wont listen because why does a Commander have to say every 2 minutes stay on me, dont charge 1 or 2 mobs, leave the sentry alone, pick up supplies etc. etc..
I personally think we should appreciate the Commanders a bit more because they spend boatloads of Gold on siege weapons on daily bases. If i was a Commander and would have to repeat the same things over and over again i also would get short fused at times. All i can say is good job FSP Commanders and keep up the good work!!!!
This,exactly…Lots of ppl still pretend they do not know to build a ram when it gets placed , and the need remains to say…Build the ram !..AOE the wall…Grab supps….and ppl suddenly splitting from your party,taking 10minutes to regroup,complain youre to fast while it is they that are to slow etc etc…XIao..Please,get that tag so you can feel the frustration yourself.
I have been hearing a lot about how warriors want to dual wield great swords. WTF is this! How would they even roll and how would a tine asura carry a big kitten sword, let alone 2! There are problems like the minion AI for every pet class and you are worried about dual wielding one of you most powerful weapons! How would the character even swing one his/her swords…. they would drop it on the enemy, and don’t tell me that warriors are a bunch of Chuck Norris’ minions or they work out a lot. This is madly overpowered. Would a person wield a great sword in real life. If so I would like to see a human pick up 2 iron Two-Handed Swords in each hands and swing them both at a target without looking like an idiot. It even has 2 handed in the name 2 handed sword, which is what a Great sword really is in case you didn’t know.P.S. Dont take this too harshly.

Also,remove the ability to being able to Res dead members Through a gate,mostly..mesmers.Currently what people do when defending a tower and they see they gonna lose it is..Get to the gate,and let people kill you.They stick around laying there till the enemy moves out,then the current dead player cals people over,they res him through gate,portal…Tadaaa Tower back.

You mean how with maxed out settings in TERA i cant see mobs which are more then 20m from me or the ground made from plain texture with no fauna…..imo some things making TERA look like beta version…Iam not saying GW2 is perfect but characters, armor and weapons looks waaaaay better in GW2 in tera the character creation is horrible everbody from same race looks like clones. But i really like trees and some other things in TERA so its hard to tell which one looks better. Also i never seen areas so big and detail like Lions Arch for example in Tera, if there are some areas like that i would like to see how they look…
he’s comparing an engine from 2004 from wich dozens and dozens of games have been created to the gw2 engine…that alone,should be enough to shut him.And no,Tera does Not Look better then gw2,the atmosphere in tera is seriously lacking,its all to bland and empty.You go from high res textures to low res textures in the same area,things like that put me off.The only thing i liked is,its the u3 engine,you can tweak it like a madmen.

I have problems distinguishing detail with the default gamma setting. I was pretty happy when I found in Graphic Options that you can edit the gamma level (not the prettiest solution, but it works for me).
The problem is that my custom gamma setting does not stick. Whenever I transit a gate/waypoint/cut-scene/what-have-you, as soon as the game recycles and opens whatever new environment, the default setting resumes, and I have to open Options to adjust it again. Is there a way of making sure the custom gamma setting always sticks?
I concur with previous posters – it would be great if Egon could check a setting that allowed more highlights to be turned on or something like that for viewing loot/paths/doorways.
Try playing in Windowd fullscreen,this way the adjustments made to gamma etc stick.
ALso,you could try to use SweetFx to enhance Colours,gamma,contrast..basically everything and more you cannot do with your standard windows/nvcpl settings.
btw +1,i think Every game needs to support this for color/vision impared people.

Why does it look like nightly golem rushes is you people’s only “tactic”,and after youve done so,there is zero defending done by your side.Like last night,golem rush in EB, Sm,and grab everything else from FS ? We had our side back in under 30 m with 6 ppl vs 30 of yours,you couldnt even get in langor our last t3 tower..Then AM joined in aswell and grabbed ql while Gh was busy at our garri..Then am crashed your party and even stole our garri from you..Hold you both off and got it all back sooner then you grabbed it.Golem rushes is nice and all,but your wasting alot of money for nothing if you cannot hold anything you capture with your nightcrew when we only have 4 ppl around,it sure makes you feel all warm inside,but thats all i guess.Anyway Fs did a gj on turning it around last night with so few people vs 2 zergs.

The “30v6” was not a wipe and the numbers were a lot different that you say.. you need to get your eyes checked Surprisingly enough many of us stayed up to cap all the Blue for the lolz and then logged off after all.. this was a weekday night/morning Wasted no money at all tbh… well a lot less than all those upgrades that were torn down

So that will work out like this..Big guild with their leader having a comm tag,Everyone votes him,asks friends to vote aswell etc etc,while he may not even be that good…Unknown commander 1,not many fiends but great view of mind and tactical viewpoint,get 1 vote but is alot better then the comm from the Huge guild.This wont work out for the best,like Every voting system doesn’t.
Tried it with my own profiles,but you lack the speed you need,mostly for pvp.Even for pve it just feels to slow..you need to make to much combos with buttons,mess up easily,cam turning also Way to slow with a controller for this game.All those people that want Official controller support…are pve’rs only though.Theres isnt a pvper that would choose controller over m&k.
i think the answer is “only if amd and intel come out with massively better cpu’d then they have now before the expansion”
alot of is have this feeling that anet arent even working on the perf at this point, some of the devs may be working on it on the side but, I really doubt anybody at anet is taking the issues seriously, they are still making money after all.
my whole game group has effectivly side lined gw2, we all have beastly gaming rigs, even tera at 2560×1440 runs at 40fps worst case…..and thats with the game maxed AND driver based AA and SMAA…..
the problem really seems to be that anet seems to have developed gw2 with dreams of an xbox360 port, what leads many of us to this conclusion is that the game has 3 heavy threads, and the 360 has 3 cores, and the 360 is dx9 level gfx hardware wise….years ago the dev’s where all excited the game was gonna be dx10 then even dx11 but that was fully abandoned in favor of dx9….this also ment they could sell the game to people running xp whos systems cant run the game worth a kitten…..
yeah anets kinda kittened me off…..but, I dont blame the dev’s, they just gotta do what management tells them to do……
so yeah, most likely what will fix the game is the xbox720 coming out and them porting the game to it, since the 720 will be dx11 and will have more cores, they will have to rewrite the engine to use more cores since the cores used wont be as powerfull as todays top cpu’s that only get you 30fps in LA……

Well in your vid i saw i was red,and im currenty black and white,its due to your settings that makes all enemies look red etc.Take a look in your option menus at the enemy change colour or something, So people will all have there “Own” look.

“some random child” seems like a statement of jealousy,ive seen some Very good commanders.Also alot of new commanders who don’t know what to do at times,i always do my best to help them wherever i can,..commanding can be quite difficult and they could use all the support needed when they are trying something. And btw,thats the purpose of the tag,so that people will have something to follow around.If you do not agree with the current commanders decision,how about you give him a pm and let him know what other plan you got ? Most will listen,if they dont..then like i said,make your own partys,from your guild or randoms,and do your own things.
Why must we have a caste system in WvW? Commanders are being treated like gods in WvW simply because of their tag.
One of the many goals of WvW should be to allow a few average players to work together to accomplish something; whether it be defending, attacking, upgrading, or whatever. However, the trend seems to be that most new players and many of the old players are reluctant to commit to anything without a commander telling them what to do. This is a bad idea for many reasons, but primarily because it diminishes the enjoyment of the average player.
We all come from different backgrounds and we all choose to play this game in our own way. Admittedly, some people like to lead and some people like to follow, but that choice should never be forced on anyone. Commanders are currently a status symbol in the game that allows them to spam team/map chat and give orders without opposition. These actions often drown out the average player. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard someone tell an average player to stop using team chat so the commander can speak, it’s insulting and disrespectful. We both paid our 60 dollars for this game and we both have a right to play.
The bottom line is that commanders should not be in the game in their current form. The original goal of ArenaNet may have been for commanders to be a mobile rally point and a squad creator but what has been implemented is nothing close to that. Only a few commanders actually take the time to form squads and instead spam team chat, and the function of the rally point has simply been reduced to the barbaric rhetoric “EVERYONE ON MY TAG NOW!!”.
We are tired of being reduced to a pawn in a child’s toy army. ArenaNet, I beg you to address this and give us a system that treats everyone as equals.
Who is this We you’re talking about ? And what are you on about being Forced to do this or that …? You go on as if youre not allowed to play whenever a commander shows up and that you are treated like a, slave ? I dont know where you get all this or what server youre on.But has it ever crossed your mind that if you Do want to achieve something ,just form some partys and go…even if there’s a commander,who would only appreciate it ?
A second GTX 680 would be overkill for GW2, it will be cool for crysis 3 or farcry 3 but for GW it will make no difference in low frame rate situations, sure looking to the sky u will see 400 FPS instead 250 using SLI, but in lions arch u will still see FPS as low as 30, SLI will make no difference in WvW, cities or heavy PVE events.
A single gtx 680 will give u very good frames in general at that res, even running triple monitors or 3D surround it will give u respectable performance. I would avoid SLI in general for games since it causes a lot of truobles, suttering, some games don’t scale properlly, it is more of a marketing thing, u know they made it possible in order to sell more videocards, but it really causes a lot of truoble sometimes. If u want really high end performance wait for the new tesla videocard, tho it is rumored to cost arround 1600$ so u probably want to save money :P
This statement is not true…if i disable SLI i have noticable lower FPS allround,and yes,LA included.SLI enabled it pops right back…Yes again..LA included.SLI has a MAJOR impact on performance if you have the cpu to back it up.

This is just complete bullocks,i wont even go in details since im to lazy to bother,been using sli since around 2004 -2005..Never had a problem,and Always boosting my fps massively.Ignorant statement.
SLI does causes trouble and microsuttering, they tend to fix this kind of stuff over time but not allways end up scalling properlly and u most likelly have to wait for drivers fixes for specific games, stuff like that, SLI is problematic u need a decent knowleadge over hardware to deal with dual card cofiguration, it is not for everybody. U can check out Nvidia forums and see thousands of ppl complaining about this kind of stuff… oh wait no, they are all ignorant! A single card is ALLWAYS better than dual cards, i have run 3 SLI configs in the past and said it based on experience.

Simple answer to a simple question, assuming the player can solve problems: Don’t use a cape skin if it clips with your armor. Backpacks, Books, Quivers, and the Capacitor exist for these cases. There is also the option to hide it.

I suggest offering a telescope in WvW so one person like one of the scouts for the team can zoom in farther for better viewing. Perhaps you could make this a build-able siege print. In addition you could make it a time limited build.
How would a telescope work with the current view distance,wich is pretty limited… ?
There is also no real way to report a “hacker”,bot or exploit is not a “hacker” imo. I saw this guy flying a while guy,i reported him as Exploiter,but now hes on some Long kitten exploit list and god knows how long it’l take for them to even realize hes a hacker and not just an exploiter…anyways,yeah more options needed to report people Properly.

1. Players reporting me are putting “botting”. You guys are the first to complain when bots are not getting banned fast enough, yet everytime someone is doing something that you don’t like you report him for “botting” and you wonder why the Support Team is so busy and slow? They have to check everytime to see if this is truly about botting or not, and most of the time it is not. So yes, I call those players “stupid”. If they’re not happy, they should fill up a support ticket about me.
2. I guess thousands of people have already a legendary weapon, but how many have this title? The amount of supply needed for this title is INSANE, I mean, ONE MILLION!
1k per day takes 3 years.
5k per day is very hard and takes 200 days.
10k per day is insane and yet it still takes 100 days.
So can you imagine that this title is meant to be acquired “over time”, by simpling playing the game? A normal player, using like 300 supply everyday would take 9 years getting this!
3. Again, I’m not disturbing my server. Sure it’s disturbing the eyes of my team, when they see 5 flames rams in a camp, but in no way it’s disturbing their victory! Supply refills fast, siege weapons limit is separated from flame ram limit, and when I hear that a commander wants to refill his supply there, sure I leave the supply for them!

A second GTX 680 would be overkill for GW2, it will be cool for crysis 3 or farcry 3 but for GW it will make no difference in low frame rate situations, sure looking to the sky u will see 400 FPS instead 250 using SLI, but in lions arch u will still see FPS as low as 30, SLI will make no difference in WvW, cities or heavy PVE events.
A single gtx 680 will give u very good frames in general at that res, even running triple monitors or 3D surround it will give u respectable performance. I would avoid SLI in general for games since it causes a lot of truobles, suttering, some games don’t scale properlly, it is more of a marketing thing, u know they made it possible in order to sell more videocards, but it really causes a lot of truoble sometimes. If u want really high end performance wait for the new tesla videocard, tho it is rumored to cost arround 1600$ so u probably want to save money :P
This statement is not true…if i disable SLI i have noticable lower FPS allround,and yes,LA included.SLI enabled it pops right back…Yes again..LA included.SLI has a MAJOR impact on performance if you have the cpu to back it up.

The statement they made was not :

If I understand them correctly, their statement is:
“Since 680 is a high-end graphics card, there isn’t a CPU on the (consumer) market that will back it up. Therefore, adding an additional 680 in a SLI configuration will not benefit low-FPS scenarios like heavy WvW, big cities, etc. This doesn’t mean that a SLI configuration for lower-end graphics cards will not be beneficial to GW2”

This is just complete bullocks,i wont even go in details since im to lazy to bother,been using sli since around 2004 -2005..Never had a problem,and Always boosting my fps massively.Ignorant statement.
Whenever there are other warriors in my team it seems like they ALWAYS run FGJ. This is fun to chain in a team, each one shouts after another. Whenever there is other warriors I always run this just so I fit in. I never want to be that one warrior without it. Is there some unwritten rule? I notice in banks too, warriors will randomly chain FGJ who dont even know each other. It does sound nice but whats with this
Be gratefull,because they give you a constant 20% crit,constant 105 power,constant 105 condi dmg.You know most warrs could switch to self buffs easily,but FGJ is more effecient since it BUFFS allies…Complain more if they keep using it in battles,by all means,ask them to stop Buffing you…..
