Prob a mix of Pulmonary spam aswell.Pay attention to your boon bar when youre getting cc’d.Pulmonary is an effect you get after you get cc interrupted by a thief that basically explodes after a while of being applied.This can be stacked aswell,and this can be spammed aswell.Dont know the exact damage but i think 3 – 4k is easily doable,add 1k dmg ontop of it with Drain sigil .If you see thief spamming his p4 from range to you,do not attack yet so you wont get interrupted and pulm doesnt apply,let him waste some init while he does so.

Spellbreaker will dominate WvW Meta (u just wait and see) the Boon denial is gonna mess up alot of plays that are currently used.

I hope it,but i doubt it .I think most people will keep on rolling other classses regardless.But i do see huge potentional with the elite being properly used.

That isnt really the issue Choppy.The issue is Everyone and his mother running condi spec thus it being a struggle uphill to fight vs “Proper” condi players without cleanse and not the random baddie here and there.

Kinda agree,theres way too much condi being thrown around to be anywhere near viable in this current meta without condi cleanse.Ive tried ditching it at times in wvw to grab last stand but usually quickly switching back.Its not the fact that you fight One condi here and there its the fact that about Everyone and his mother is running condi specs atm.speaking about wvw.I dont see any build being viable without condi cleanse currently no matter how good u are.

I’ve been running Last Stand as a wvw roamer for about the last couple of years and to very good effect. We have plenty of tools to deal with condi besides Cleansing Ire.

You’ll note as well that when pressed for builds that don’t use FH, he could only make vague reference to a gimmick build that was rarely used and is easily shut down. Meanwhile, Rousing Resilience has actually been used by some Berserker builds to take advantage of all the stun breaks it provides. Last Stand is also viable in pvp, even if Cleansing Ire is normally a better choice.

Fast Hands is clearly the most (near) mandatory trait for warriors, and it has been since launch, at least in competitive play.

I dont know what tier youre fighting in.But i roam with 2 – 3 people mostly only fighting outmanned where about everyone is condi and otherwise being chased by a condi blob.Where doing these fights without condi cleanse it being a massive pain in the ass if resists are on cd.Even with cleansin ire,theres just so kitten much condi in wvw currently its hardly any fun either imo.Im hoping the xpack will switch things up,but i doubt.

Funny because it used to work that if you missed with a Burst skill it wouldn’t consume adrenaline and the skill would only go on a 5(?)s Cooldown. So back when they designed everything this analysis actually holds up and warrior was only limited to resource and time.

Remember when we used to carry over adren from the previous fight,not depleting..Always having your foe at his toes because he was not sure if you were about to burst straight away or if youre empty on adren.

Anyway,maybe deplete half adren on a miss instead of all of it ?

I think you all are missing the point Xaylin made. Fast hands being overpowered and mandatory for any viable warrior build doesnt mean it should be baseline as it doesnt cripple your core mechanics in any way as other situations exposed (mesmer). If fast hands was made baseline, you might aswell make cleansing ire baseline as you “will notice a heavy difference playing at gold tier or higher with or without it”.
I hate trait lines being mandatory, and I would like to be able to drop def/disc too, but imo theres no reasonable reason behind making FH base besides Anet being lazy and balancing warrior the cheap way.

Except Cleansing Ire isn’t mandatory, lots of competitive builds don’t use it, and its effects are easily replicated using other useful traits and skills.

My response to Xaylin’s point, as you’ve laid it out, is so what? Fast Hands isn’t only important for the core mechanic, and being shut out of a core mechanic isn’t the litmus test for whether something should be made baseline.

Whether Fast Hands should be made baseline isn’t about mesmers, but since we’re talking about IP as though that’s the standard, did you know that there were several common and competitive builds that didn’t use it before it was baselined? Not so with Fast Hands, which seems to me a more compelling case.

Did you also know that IP wasn’t the only trait made baseline for mesmers at that time? Is the claim now that all of those traits were necessary for mesmers to access their core mechanic, and that that’s more compelling than the case for Fast Hands? I hope not.

It’s either make Fast Hands baseline, delete it while bringing in a host of additional balance changes, or unnecessarily keep warrior in a narrow range of build diversity by sticking with the status quo for…. reasons.

I’d rather Anet take the “cheap way” as you’ve described it than nothing at all. Hell, I might even prefer it as the least disruptive and most achievable fix.

Except Ive seen more competitive (talking about pvp btw) builds without fast hands than cleansing ire. No decent warrior build has ever played without cleansing ire for as far as I can remember. Also, my point was, FH shouldnt be made baseline cause it doesnt hinder thw actual class mechanics, opposed to other cases. It has nothing to do with a trait being mandatory or not. Making FH base would be the unreasonable and lazy solution. If its the only solution, well, thats sad, but I would rather have anet fix warrior and make FH an optional trait that changes the way you play warr, like it does Fresh Air to say something.

It does feel smoother after the changes they made a while back.Also dont forget you can change target mid rush.Its not a 100% hit for me aswell but when i look back to how it was its a hell of a lot better and connecting way more now.Could use some small tweaks maybe like..Add a small leap at the end of the rush like fiery gs from ele.Now if i compare the 2 which are basically the exact same animations i feel that fiery gs feels smoother to use and connects more often,possibly due to the small leap at the end.I’d like to see our animation change to that aswell.

I was comparing to a berserker/damage war, not a condi war. not everyone likes condi war, Myself included.

The longbow is the ranged condi weapon for warrior. It’s not designed to be used as a power weapon. The rifle is the ranged power weapon, which was recently reworked but had some of its damage nerfed because of gimmicky burst damage in PvP.

Ham/Bow – Power used to be meta for a long time in pvp way before hot.

If you need to have a passive permanently slotted to make a class bearable then that’s a serious design flaw going over the heads of anet devs not realizing how crippling it is ( not even talking about fast hands only but also warri sprint ) not to take either of them in any build you make.

You wont get banned,im no mod obviously.but ive been using SweetFx – Reshade since 2012.

They only bann you if you use programs,hacks,cheats that give you an advantage over other players.Sweetfx is merely visual,anet knows this and they know its being widely used in tons of other games and know exactly that it wont give you an advantage over anyone whatsoever.

It’s unbeatable in duels and effective in team fights. It can sustain outnumbered for quite some time. What more do you want?

prety much this… i barely ever see a Warrior go down in a 1v1

most of the time we need to gang up on one and even then they can tank the kitten hell out of us while running around and even kill someone if we don’t have a support with us….

the only time Warriors seem to have issues are with Bomber Mesmers/Thiefs
seriously it feels like warrior are farting heals while fighting one….and still can hit pretty kitten hard…

So youre all baddies ? That explains alot.

Must be hard for you to accept some others are just better than you,so you start looking at ways to explain why this or that happend so you dont hurt your own little ego that likes to make you believe you’re the best !

Just wanted to put in my two cents. Playing warrior seems like playing on easy mode of pvp. They get an active endure pain that I think is fine. But then they get a passive endure pain that automatically activates when they get hit too hard. Then to top it off, they get another trait that passively negates a killing blow and heals them instead. Those passives gotta go. It’s easy mode and it’s lame AF.

Those are 2 invulns anyone with a working brain can work around.Besides that other trait you talk about is only available in berserk traitline,but im sure you knew that.

@Zoltreez Maybe you should stop attacking/play defensive/take distance when you see an invuln up that counters your build untill it wears off ? Just saying something random,no idea if that can help out though -.. ..- — -… .- … …

Tbh wish people wouldnt play like such kitten in wvw,running away from 1on1,porting from 1on1,logging off when downed 1on1..running inside a tower 1on1.but if they see 5 others with em they chase u over the map.Besides everyone and his mother running condi specs is getting tiresome.Its a no skill aoe spamm/gank fest.Pof isnt changing much to this besides adding more powercreep.

Massive Warrior NERF!!!!

That Berserker nerf was a hit in the gut, but what i think is even worse, is that almost all of the primal burst skills will not be used anymore.

For Raids and Fractals there is sword and bow and maybe greatsword, but apart from some open world players we won’t see the others anymore, because Berserker sucks now in pvp and wvw (even more than before).

It’s a shame really, that we are stuck with the old (even tier 1) bursts again with SB. They are slow and clunky. The primal burst for gun didn’t feel like garbage. Just compare the standart version to the new thief elite. It’s just so sad.

And SB doesn’t even seem to be that good in pvp. Try to kill a Deadeye with SB, he will kite you to death and Deadeye is not even a good pvp specialisation….

Deadeye was tbh the least of my worries,tether and the elite works fine vs them + dagger 5 reflecting will mess them up aswell.My biggest issue however was fighting condi spammers in wvw,its impossible to cleanse yourself properly and the added resist isnt helping much if it ticks beyond it.If we would be able to burst 3 bars on this before the nerf the spec would be so much better overall.

The more I play spellbreaker, the more I find myself adjusting my build away from it to improve performance. Now it’s down just Full Counter. I’ll next evaluate whether that is better than berserk mode.

Heh same here..gave some utils a try but i went back to berserk stance/balanced stance/ep.Still giving dd a try because i do feel its fun to play but the dmg is severely lacking on aa and bursting especially.Our elite can also use a shafe off the cd,its far too long imo and should be brought down to 60cd.Other than that im not that impressed with the new spec,if nothing much changes in this month im gonna just stick with forever dodging core warr.

Some thoughts from PVP perspective:

Stability counters this spec hard. It would be ideal to see dagger get a single boon strip without needed to disable to allow for some counter play.

It would be nice to see dagger get either a ranged attack or a pull similar to DH, it is just too easy to kite right now.

Discipline trait line seems mandatory for the 25% move speed if you want to take natural healing due to not being able to upkeep swiftness. The issue is that there is no pure power-based 25% MS rune.

Turning the dagger burst into a range would be amazing,especially with tether it would make more sense imo.

Lets ignore that some classes are still brokenly OP, why the hell would someone think it is a good idea to allow even more broken specs play in pvp games and ruin every single game?
From new warrior 2-hitting everyone to death, to EVEN MORE BROKEN NEW POWER MESMER 0.kittenting everyone to death.

I get that devs need testing and figure out how to change these elites to make them balanced, but why everyone else have to suffer for it?

I understand your frustration, but putting the new elites within the context of the current meta is the best way to detect balance issues. It would be harder to do so in an isolated environment. I would pretty much rather play against the new broken specs for 2 days and instead hope to see a slightly better balance at release, than to just play in this broken environment for months after release.

This exactly,it might be broken as hell now but atleast they got a month to try and fix or balance certain things out which is only better in the end.Serves for an hopefully smoother launch with less issues aswell.

the pic is clearly an exaggeration not to be taken seriously, as it clearly shows multiple buff stacking and a Zerker setup.

That said, I did get crit for 15/19k in a fair duel by this ability… seems kinda high to me, maybe we need to learn to counter/dodge it and it’s not really op?

I am not sure about how easy/hard is it to pull up these numbers, but if I am fighting on a point and some sniper come behind my back from Range and instantly 19k my ass from stealth, well that doesn’t seem very good…

Let’s not talk about WvW, good lord I can only imagine the Sniper cheese roaming builds.

All the buffs boons and banners in the world should not be able to give a class this damage in one press of a button.We had people crying about 12k gunflames but some people actually defend this.. Im at a loss for words.

Players are stupid and run in one blob whole time. If you would split your blob like 5 groups it would be much more effective. You go build couple catas with 4 guildmates and germans bring 50 dudes to kill you every time even when they have like 10 defenders in tower.

This is something i see often and dont get either.Sieging a tower with 3 people with 5 people inside making siege and 30 seconds later the zoneblob shows up.I dont know why some people even play this game.

I only roam with 2 – 3 guys.But WvW IS all about numbers.I remember a time where people still had balls and dared to run in small groups of 2 – 3 ( Just a few left that stil do so,not talking about thieves… ) as i do but now these groups have turned into 5 – 10 running with mercy runes and 80%hp in downed state food.So they can go nuts a bit vs half their numbers,go down and get ressed anyways.When it comes to blobbing,no matter what anet comes up with to make people run in smaller groups,people will still keep on blobbing.

One of the few servers ive seen splitting up their zoneblob is JS so far.And the most dumbest thing by far has to be capping and recapping sm over and over while noticing it lags the server out,then these 3 zone blobs keep going back to that same wooden sm to spamm 11111 again while those same people complain about the lag.Or a comm wanting 60 people on his ass and asking roamers to leave the map cus he has no need for them.Then 3 days later home bl is in kitten and that same comm asks for roamers to cap this and that…

This is why i play for myself,and myself only.

This being an exploit, I’d say it should be fixed pretty quickly if enough people report and explain how it’s done to them.

And yuh, I had no idea how it was done until apharma explained it a bit better. But like I said, it’s best to report this in a ticket or something, might get to the Devs faster? I know they’ve removed some rocks and other things from EB because it could and would have been used for something like this. Reckon this was just an undersight by them.

If you people actually read the threads you could have noticed this has already been reported and a dev already replied thats it gonna be fixed.

+1 to undoing this change, it essentially negates all the positive changes to staff that might have possibly made Staff see a tiny bit more play. No one complained about staff auto-attacks being OP and this nerf just makes no sense.

Far too often, Necros and other dps crew like Warriors get tossed in the back of the zerg where there is no stab or protection available, particularly if there aren’t enough Guards to put one in every squad…

Guess what, now there will be even fewer guards, even less stab and even fewer proper parties for classes that need that stab.

Guards are the lifeblood of WvW, you may hate it and you may enjoy watching them get nerfed, but in the end you will suffer as well. In a sense, proper guards are like bees. You may not notice them much, but without them our ecosystem would be so much poorer.

All of this because a range nerf to 300 ? jeez,might have to roll your face over your keyboard twice now instead of once…I’d love to see a guardless blob btw.

this would also make it more forgiving for pugs to run inside private wvw raids. If no one is outnumbered, pugs won’t die and rally your downs.

(the idea behind the push for private wvw raids is because pugs would die and rally your downs, not fun. They ruin your fights)

Speaking for roaming it’s a hassle,sometimes i want to engage something larger when im mostly running with a group of 2 – 4 but knowing downed state can and alot of times will mess up what could have been a great fight i mostly skip it nowadays.Not enough cleave,people doing more reshealing than you can do dmg on a target,finishing being slower than getting rezzed,people running with mercy runes and resfood.Alot of times it just seems people are actually relying it,knowing they can go nuts a bit then go down and get ressed anyway cus they have more people.

I like your proposal but i dont think anet will ever completely remove downed state for one side,theres too many finishers in the gemstore for that.But a nerf is needed imo.

Less reshealing done to a downed person
Only rally once and the next time you’re full dead

I think I used to have that problem. To fix it I pried off my windows keep and my cap locks key. If you accidently grazed the windows key it will take you to your browser screen. Also check your keybinds and push every button twice hard when the computer is off in case a key is stuck a bit. Also clean out your keyboard with a air spray can. If none of that works try a different keyboard.

Heres a better official way to do that,used to had the same issue,this works like a charm.

As several people mentioned, and Mo mentioned in the AMA, we release on our own cadence and will continue to release updates for WvW outside of the expansion release.

Do something for roamers in wvw,and start looking at downstate already its carrying way too hard.

A buddy of mine that runs thief mainly also complains about more spots having invalid target on his ports.Ive noticed myself theres an entire area next to the nec tower on desert bl going from se to ne of the tower where the entire area gives you invalid path,its pretty much flat ground allover.

siege is a crutch for the worse team sure, but it should only help not be the complete counter

i never said the blob has skill, im saying the 5 people spamming AC shots wouldnt need any skill to counter 30 people

It should help to the extent that we should be able to counter this siege,at this point theres is absolutely nothing to counter when theres a blob with 2 shieldgens,they can chain the bubble and you cant even disable it,hence you cannot ac it,bali or or use any other siege to either kill it off completely or delay it untill a zoneblob can be called for help if it’s t3.All you can do is stand around,keep suiciding yourslef on the gens or keep trying to disable mostly killing yourself in the process or failing it.

Youre only as dead as you make it believe yourself.Can you still play warri ? Yes ? Then play it. Ive seen this happen more often also way before hot.Main comms thinking,and theyre right to some extent,that other classes do stuff better than warris.That doesnt mean youre useless..Youre still a high dps class that can be extremely viable in zergfights,you can still deal with alot of focus,you can still rush on your commanders ass through aoe while dishing out dmg,run rifle act as a backline,or go melee,or go condi..Theres enough viable stuff in zerging imo.
