DH Traps need balancing

the thing is.. you don’t even have to run into his traps.. he can pull you into them from a 1200 range no matte what you do… even invisibility doesn’t help because his pull still targets the thief for example…

on top of that dh has tons of shields as well to prevent bursting.

dh was already strong and still dh got another buff while others who needed a buff got a “ghostnerf” again…

ofc those dhs don’t want to get nerfed… a profession that doesn’t need any kind of playerskill to get wins … i mean come on those ppl couln’t play anymore since that would require them to get some sort of playerskill x’D

Thats funny lol 9k back stabs plus 2 auto to down someone require skill? ALso save one stability utility for the spear of justice when u see it and if its gonna last just a few sec get away or break line of sight.

EVERYONE learn how to play please. Dhs r far from broken. Even 2 dodges o traps triggers them and gets u out of them without damage.

Honestly gonna argue that dh is harder to play than thief ? This just made my day,lol……

Also don’t be scared to pop berserk util Just to fight his black powder ( blind ) after his spike on you,if that happens when you have full adren up start bursting with gs inside of it right away.Dont bother to land axe burst most thieves will easily dodge that.

it also helps to just roll a thief and equip him with dp/bow and see how long they can stealth,to see their mobility,the way init regains and how often they can dodge etc.That can really help to fight em aswell.

Guardians are a heavy armour class with the least mobility in the game.

They have few teleports, no evasion utility or weapon skills and little to no access to Vigor.

They are built around area control and holding ground through all of their weapons, traits and utilities. That is the class concept.

What exactly do you expect in a fight with them you complete oaf?

Guardians are designed to be immobile and control an area, they are not a light footed evasion class like a Thief.

You want brainless? How about a 1200 range teleport that automatically puts you behind your target in stealth to perform what would be a skill based attack in any other RPG.

You should honestly re-read my comment where i’m talking about That particular Dh.Where ive seen dh’s that do play different,that do dodge…You complete oaf,i expect people not be able to win a fight by just standing still and dropping the bombs and the blocks in the same kittening spot without the need to even move,cus oh my god such skillfull gameplay !

20k+ ? Yeah thats not happening unless you run naked and the warri has every possible shared boon ingame with 25+ might ontop of it and all the damage modifiers possible,then still it won’t happen.Theres no way you will get randomly hit for a 20k+ gunflame,those days are gone.So either screenshot…Or stop exaggerating.

We also do not have invisi….

Now it’s crash with overheating. I hit 70 Celsius and it’s BOOM! Screen freeze, system shutdown, every 30-40 minutes, or wherever population is high. If this is your way of telling me to buy a new computer, I am sending you the bill. This baby has another 4 years in her, so help me Grenth.

If your pc is overheating please don’t be so dense to blame anet for that.

Dust out your pc or get some better airflow or turn down your oc if you have oc’d your cpu.

I think they added this to incentive people to fight over T3 objectives instead of paper ones… Most of the time you see zergs only going for paper stuff to K-train while avoiding upgraded defended objectives because of how much time/effort consuming they are.

Blasting water fields on regroups is clutch. But it’s outdated since revs basically replaced warriors in zerg fights.

Have fun blasting waterfields when theres other fields overlapping it and taking priority.

Warrior is broken because that class has one of the best allrounder setups across all classes.
And ye the dmg is kittening high and you have also good def. Was really a joke when i swapped to my warrior and stomped like an idiot. When i tried thief man that are worlds between them. Stealth is annoying to fight but as warrior u can really in some situations smash ya face on the keyboard and win. And when u get low Hp now u can run faster than usain bolt and that with heavy armor.

That means the class is balanced to Anet standards, its a noob game for noob people most classes need to carrie the player so they stay playing. :P

What some of us want is u cant have builds with mobility defense and damage, bzerkers are really anoying at this, some classes dont have surviability and no way to escape, like a mace shield guardian….oh and mace does no damage and isnt very good besides the block thing, so is a loose/loose or very situational build.. due how game is all about offensive power creep.

In exchange of lesse bzerker surviability or mobility for damage, Anet should rework the vanilla banners to something decent, and interesting.

Just remove the entire banner concept and rework vanilla banners into pulsing boons like rev.

You have no issue,do NOT use gw2 as a benchmark,use singleplayer games for that like the witcher 3.

Turn character model quality/limit to Low,turn reflections to terrain only,turn shadows to either medium or high,This game is Not optimized to run it all full out no matter what system you have.

I have about 40fps in lions archs with an oc’d 970gtx- and fx 8120 to 4.6 ghz.WIth the above setting modified.

The only real broken thing in wvw roaming is thieves. Condi, perma evade, paired with stealth, condi cleanse, etc.
It’s not fun to fight them at all. They either run and reset 10 times or they condi bomb you while being impossible to hit.

Which is why I think I can sum up this thread in a nutshell, as it’s also applicable to warrior/berserker, and this applies to pretty much everything:

Dealing enough damage to end a fight while at the same time negating enough damage to not be ended/pressured is just bad design.

That pretty much counts for all classes with any invuln/block uptime.Thief/necro not counted.

Ok, I think there needs some clarifications about the first post.

I was trying to outline the warrior has so may strengths that they have no weaknesses.

Outrage,Stun breaks, Stability, Invulnerability, Last Stand,Berserker,Eternal Champion, and Healing Signet are fine, and I don’t think they should be changed.

The problem is that they have these, and have a large amount of mobility too.

Mobility is what needs the nerf on warriors, more specifically their ability to escape.

Warriors should be an “honorable” type class where you bring heavy damage, and heavy defense into a fight but know you will either win or die.

Just preventing the leaps being used to escape would fix the problem.

Mobility needs nerfing so they can be outkited all day ? Do you even think before you type ?

So that’s gonna be 45ppl zerging while you have 2 ppl afk 2 roamers and the village idiot running around.

50 limit is too small,it wont remove zerging and there will be even less to do for roamers.

I disagree completely. They were quite effective as an anti-zerg dumb blob defense. If the blob was dumb, they could get pushed back by much smaller numbers that also used canons. If they got smart and sieged out the canons, or sent in a few thieves to disrupt the canons and then push, the blob zerg would win. It was just another tool to help deal with heavily skewed fights.

It did help in some cases but they made defending way too easy. The range, damage, and knock-back made it nearly impossible for a blob to even take a structure held by 3 people on cannons. That’s just silly and horribly out of balance.

Thanks to cannons alone ? I call bs,theres dozens of ways to cap a tower with a full blob,if you’re unable to cap a tower defended by 3 youre doing something horribly wrong.

You can place rams far enough from the gate so cannons won’t even hit them,so you only have to deal with possible ac’s which can be completely made useless with 2 shield gens.

Later on, I’ll post a video of me 1v1-ing Zerkers that demonstrates what I’m talking about re: having no counterplay, having to run away for the entire fight, invuln/resist uptime, etc. Hopefully that’ll be more helpful than “zomg war OP”.

Invuln and resist is part of core warrior aswell,that’s a non argument.

People can write whole walls of text here,but the best advice i can give.If you already know a “veteran” warrior ask him to duel you and let him explain how to properly use your rotations and show it.If you don’t know one jump in some hotjoins spectate some warri’s and find one that does well,ask him.You will learn your warri best from dueling people,start with a warri and move on to duel the rest of the classes when you manage to get hold of basic rotations and how to stay alive first.

Pre-HoT, dueling a Warrior with my Engi used to be a really fun fight. It was like playing Street Fighter. You both go at each other with attacks. Whoever landed their big hits while dodging their opponent’s would win.

I miss that.

Now, it’s more like “Aw kitten they’ve got stab and invuln and alltheboons, better run away and break combat … phew. made it, okay their stances are done. Time to turn around and fight .. aaaand they’re running away. sigh.. Oh no! Their stances are up again? better run away and break combat”

Sadly that counts for the entire hot spec across all classes.Less skill,more spammable skils ( burst when it coms to warri ),invulns,lotta regen…lotta ways to mess up and still be allright.The skill floor dropped massively when hot released IMO.

I’m inclined to agree with the OP in that the combination of stuff like Outrage, Headbutt, Savage Instinct, Last Stand, and Eternal Champion is pretty cheesy. It’s basically near-complete immunity to hard cc without any effort unless the opponent happens to have a bunch of boonstrips handy. If some of these traits and skills were toned down, there would at least be more of a window to cc the warrior before it got away. As for the leaps, they’ve been around since long before the expansion. The only reason they’re viable now is because of powercreep in other areas to make up for the loss in offensive potential.

So running with stabi is considered cheesy now.Dont mind the ton of aoe cc in this game though.

Besides OP “I have seen the warrior win 3:1”…Means the warri knows how to play and those 3 others got outplayed.Got chased by a zerg and he ran into a tower where the zoneblob was pressing 11111 and the warri was actually making good use of his skills to escape ? So they had no thief in their zoneblob able to shadowstep and port towards him ? Thief mobility > warri mobility.

Bring some mobility yourself if you get tired of it.I mean i can kitten about it being dark,but i can also turn on a light.

Warr was not simplistic back then,we had to slowly gain adren before we could start bursting.Now its headbut,burst burst swap burst burst..It’s way more simplistic to my feeling.We also rely way too much on our regens and invulns,ep stacking to 8 sec is also..simplistic.

To add on to what I was saying earlier, if a Thief uses the combo I mentioned, you can just back away and he/she won’t be able to hurt you. You might get hit by one blinding bolt, that’s it. So many people will try to CC or double CC me and it’s just sad to watch while I do 6k crit damage to them.

I’m not saying i have issues with thieves using it.My point was actually,that axe 5 need to be buffed similar to the thief steal.

MU’s on Gandara have been incredibly boring. We’re just getting matched up with servers that have either lost all their active players ( Deso , SFR) or we fight PPT servers that run away as soon as there’s a fight ( Vizu when not primetime , RS , Drakkar , Elona).

I’m fighting JS atm,trust me you dont want to switch ! No roamers,running in towers,sitting on siege,and abusing cannons like mad.

Not sure if this is a legit comparison or a complaint. Steal is a profession mechanic, it should be OP compared to a normal weapon skill.

It’s not a complaint though,just stating it as it is.Was actually always wondering why it is that their steal is better than our actual axe 5.

Downstate in general is a pretty bad mechanic outside of PVE so I support this.

Agree,i can see the point of it for pve and slightly for pvp.But not in wvw where the number of people in certain situations vary way too much to make downed state an reliable and fair mechanic.I can name dozens of situations i encountered myself where downed mode made me lose a fight i should have won, but i think most roamers especially ( the last few left.. ) already experienced this themselves dozens of times.And with the amount of ress bots in wvw it can be a frustrating experience having to lose an outmanned fight that should have been won because of downed state and ressing.

Might even see more people starting to roam around without downed state aswell since most soloers especially when seeing 2 – 4 people he would have fight,usually don’t do so because they know downed mode will prob mess it up in the end.Saving stabi,or quick stomping,cleaving isn’t always an option either.

@Straegen,also agree…Atleast make it so people just ress 2 times..instead of the 4 times they can get up before fully dying atm.

Im on a fx 8320 at 4.4 with a gtx 970..The game is running perfectly fine even when i still had my older gtx 560ti’s in sli a year back.Running mostly maxed out where my absolute lowest dip is 25fps in wvw in heavy 3 way fights.Where my average fps is well over 60 maxing to 100+ at times.

When you said this “Even completely turning everything to lowest my game seems to just constantly stutter and dip below 40 in the open world. The stuttering is too much it’s unplayable honestly.”

That makes me think there is something wrong with your system,bios settings or drivers.Make sure your gpu or cpu are not throttling aswell.

Conditions doing too much damage?

My own warrior has 11 seconds resistance on a 16 second cooldown off the signet and another 26 some seconds of the Berserker stance on a 60 second cooldown. he does not need healing off signet if fighting a condition build because the condition build can apply little damage which is outhealed by Adrenal. He then gets plenty of cleanses with his zerker traits.

He can then cleanse conditions using leadership runes just by using headbutt.

Conditions should not be an issue to any warrior and if they are it was a decision made by that player to be weak to them.

Team chat is its own separate channel. Team and map chat were the same, they were redundant.

Map was used for regular chat,Team chat was used for actual reports.

Nah. Not much you can do, it’s pretty normal for a game to drop a few frames temporarily when it has to work harder to render new stuff that appears in the players view. Mostly dependant on hardware.

But even with the most beastly hardware available to you, you’re never really going to receive constant stellar framerates… This thread goes into detail why:

Transfer needs to be 2k gems,it shouldn;t be something you can do every week.

Do you really believe players want to constantly move servers? Do you really think people find that fun? They do it primarily because server instability causes a lackluster playing environment, so they leave to a more active server. Since linking can cause so much instability, this effect will continue happening.

Yes i do,I don’t do it myself.But i know about a dozen people that keep on doing it to try and get a #2 or #3 server to the #1 spot.

Not true at all, lol.

As I said above, bugs aren’t something that a magic wand gets waved at to make go away. They are triaged, and within that triage exists a budget and a limited amount of employees. For all any of us know it would take massive amounts of time to fix… none of us really know without an understanding of the millions (billions? trillions?) of interweaving GW2-specific code. Also, bugs that threaten the game (not gameplay) get fixed quickly… bugs that don’t threaten the game, but affect gameplay usually see fixes in regular patches.

If they are aware of a bug, then repeating the complaint about a bug in a forum not dedicated to bugs remains a waste of time; they are aware of it and have already assigned importance to it. If they’re not aware of the bug, the specific people who need to be made aware aren’t necessarily reading the non-bug sub-forum for bug reports.

Good, then the devs know about it already. Bugs get triaged, and there’s very few that can have a magic wand waved at them to be fixed. Reposting such a complaint/report here in the wrong sub-forum does absolutely nothing but waste time.

if they knew about it a fix would have happend already,the more attention to this bug the better,the section of the forum doesnt matter apparantly since theres alrdy reports on it on the official bug warri post now…since 3 months.

Wanted to add,it also happens on sword leap alot where trying to leap out of bind root you stay stuck in place.

shield bash needs help with its bind bug

is anyone els getting anoyyed that shield bash is staying in place of the bind that people throw on you? i get rid of the condi fully but i still stay in the same spot can you fix this anet and if you need an example i would be more then happy to show you or you can re create it by just putting bind a warrior and have him use shield bash it will stay in place 100% of the time. thank you

They beat the other servers and went top.

You mean they got paired with two other servers and had population way larger than anyone else?

Funny how you mention that but forget to mention that the rise to the top was happening Before we got linked with 2 servers.

It costs only 500 gems to transfer regardless if you got linked with one or two servers. Or do you realy think the natives on those servers do play a role in how the parent server is doing?

I didnt make a comment about transfering..Please re-read my comment and the comment i was replying on.

If you check the position history of FSP you will see the server rising in ranks since about 4 months ago. Thats when linking started. However the original (native) population on those servers is so low they don’t play much of a role.
Instead a caravan of bandwagoners using the 500 gem “exploit” simply joining the current FotM.
Guess how many known players from deso and sfr are on my server now since we got linked….

Again.. i was commenting on Weli that mentioned us being linked with 2 server thus having a higher population was the reason we went to the top.Where i said we were Already rising to the top without being linked to 2 servers.

Please..read and understand now without replying with more nonsense not related to what i said.I also don’t care about bandwagoners that hop to the server that’s been wrecking them.
