Most the time yeah, weekends we can manage maybe 25 on a good night. It’s the main reason Piken never really rose any higher in the rankings. The 1st time we faced Elona we had 6 players hold our keep for 4 hours agaisnt 60-70 of them. We’ve picked up a few more since also lost some too. Remember Piken is a server that rose from the bottom of the rankings to T2(old) without mass recruiting, we relied on the guilds we had and had a few more join but never got a night guild or major increase in the night population.
It’s not just the nights we should worry about. Our morning and daytime coverage is bad too. Especially against servers like SFR who have whole borders (70+) on teamspeak, while we have 0 commanders and 0 ppl on ts. We shine 4-5 hours a day, during primetime, that’s it.
Yes they blob, but that’s mostly our own problem, not theirs.

Sure, except we are still waiting. You say they are “busy working” on something, but they have nothing to show. So… I think after almost a year, we can all just list the things they have changed for each area of the game and safely come to the conclusion that WvW is their least priority.
Just because they don’t post doesn’t mean they don’t care. It’s the fact that they don’t post AND don’t do anything wvw-related that shows they don’t care. Or atleast a lot less.

This is the ultimate reason for it. If we could do it in a way that wouldn’t adversely impact the gameplay of others, we would, but it’s not possible at the current time. Hopefully we can find a way to do it in the future, but for now you can’t use them in WvW for that very reason.
I don’t quite get it… They are the exact same fireworks as the original ones. Why allow one and not the other? The only reason I can imagine is that the dragon bash ones are “easier” to obtain.
And to be honest, anything can be used to grief. Might as well ban siege weapons, or transformation tonics. Or what about the most obvious, the emotes? I’m pretty sure people would grief with emotes a lot more than with fireworks.
We did some internal testing with these and you can definitely detect lowered framerates the more of these you see in an area. If you follow the pretty obvious logical train there, people will use them to adversely affect the experience of other players, intentionally. I’d love to allow all this stuff to work in WvW, but sometimes we have to take a heavy hand to stop people from being jerks to each other.

I noticed if you put quality on low and limit on medium it works fine. If there are like 300 players you won’t see the far away ones, but you will still see their names, which is sufficient. The names of the players closer to you would’ve blocked the character models of the far away ones anyways. No need for them to load.
But if there aren’t many players around, you can see everyone just fine, model+name

WvW players don’t have any laurels at all.
By making it require laurels, you are requiring the WvW player to do extensive PvE just to get any ascended equipment.
Please reconsider.
The patchnotes also mention that the dailies will include more wvw related activities and will show up in the daily more frequently. i’ve already noticed this

It says they’re updating it with help from the API ArenaNet made, so Anet can do a live ranking, but they just dont want to. Probably because this site is already so widely used, it would literally be a waste of time+money to create their own. They’re better off helping the site that’s already here and keeping their own ranking nobody uses ^^

It’s mainly how I got so many contacts on all the different servers. i’ve only had 2 or 3 bad experiences with party invites to and from enemies. So yeah I always accept. If it’s some jerk I report and leave. It’s simple. You don’t have to stay in the pt and engage in their troll/flames.

I also find it funny to invite people, then ask why they invited me.

Unluckily i didn’t take screenshot since i don’t need to be prooving everything I say. I don’t care if there is lag once or twice, but not every kittening fight during 2 hours, since we’ve run with higher numbers without lag. But i have good one from the last matchup very funny.
Tonight: “On the present or approaching evening or night” Those screens were taken in the evening, so it was on the same night as you first posted (eventhough it was 1am for you, it was still “tonight” at that time). But no problem.
About the screenshot:
1) That’s a keep, you guys blob for a camp.
2) Here’s me quoting myself from the previous matchup thread.
Our guilds run seperately, each group containing between 10 to 30 ppl or so. We have our own goals and try to tell the other raids what we’re gonna do. They will then do whatever they think is necessary in return and communicate it back to the others in the zone. Sometimes raids meet at an objective because either they haven’t communicated with eachother who will go there (and they both wanted to take/defend it) or because one asked for backup (which honestly happens less often).
And even when 2 raids meet, for our opponents it SHOULD be really obvious to see the 2 different raids doing their own thing, even when they’re at the same objective. You will see 1 raid go for the north gate when the other tries something different. And then often if 1 succeeds at it they will join to get the reward :P after the cap you will always see us go our seperate ways again.
3) Also, your screenshot isn’t really credible when it comes to showing how “big” the piken zerg is, since it shows Piken fighting Augury Rock. So half of the red you see there is probably AR, leaving just NoE and XT from Piken, which together are probably about the same size or even smaller than your average blob. But like you read from the quote, eventhough we sometimes meet, after a cap or even after helping to build siege, 99% chance that we split up again.
And do you honestly find it strange that we come together more often now than we did before? Every matchup we have to fight servers that zerg, wiping the guild raids everytime. So excuse us for coming together sometimes to help eachother out. It’s not like you have the sole right to blob. Be happy we don’t do it more often.

So far as my previous understanding was, siege sites lasted for 10 minutes without supply, and they wouldn’t despawn until 30 min (once fully built). I don’t have the muster to find the posts that referenced this, so I apologize if I’m wrong. I’ve been operating under the assumption that 30 minutes was the standard for a while. Please correct me if I’m the only one that subscribed to this.
You’re correct. Unless we’re all delusional, but I’m 100% sure I remember Anet saying that it was 10 min to build and 30 min to despawn. When I saw the post last night I thought the same thing.

Likely this:
PvE is designed so they actually have both builds up at the same time, involving a large amount of overlapping (including overflow servers), which is why downtime for PvE is so low. They’re not as concerned about splitting up the playerbase while everyone is patching and can patch up the PvE servers without affecting the playerbase.
WvW doesn’t have that luxury, there’s likely no overlap allowed because they can’t split up the playerbase to keep the scores accurate and reliable. They have to drop everyone before they patch it and restart it.
It’s very likely the PvE servers take just as long, if not longer because there’s more of them, as WvW to restart…we just don’t see it because it’s already done before the build is released to the players.

Just because they are Dev’s it doesn’t mean they can magically bend anything to their will, if it takes time, it takes time! They can’t magically make something update/reset quicker, it’s all about technology not their abilities, i don’t expect my computer to turn on faster just because i want it to.
You kinda missed my point. I will explain it again. I just want to understand WHY this is the case. You’re right, just because they’re devs, doesn’t mean they can make everything magically happen, but they SHOULD know how their own program works. And I was just asking how it works, so I can understand why it takes so long.
If I understand how my computer works, I don’t have to freak out everytime something goes wrong. If I understand how the game is built, I don’t have to get annoyed every update because of it. That’s me, and I can’t help it. When I see something I don’t understand, I want to figure it out

Lol by the time you see a camp is under attack you have literally like 2 seconds to get there and stop them
Same with a tower. By the time you know it’s under attack the gate is at 50%, so instead of rushing there to defend it, you might as well make a detour to a supplycamp to grab some supply to recap it cause you’re not gonna be able to defend.
Ofcourse just speculation. We’ll see how it turns out in reality, but I wonder why they even considered doing this. I didn’t see anyone complain about how that system currently is setup…. (?) It seemed to be perfectly fine as it was.
Maybe they want to “prevent” zerging by reducing the zergs size by-5 ppl that are now needed to scout. Only “logical” reason I can think of…. But yeah, when there’s already only 10-20 ppl on the map, they can’t afford to all go scout. So it’s kinda contradicting…

While we’re at it. Can someone explain to me why we get kicked out of wvw for the update, and then still have to wait for over an hour in Lions Arch before the update is even available? Why can’t we just play until the update is actually available? Is this a technical reason or are they just kicking us out prematurely while they do final preperations for the update? Because, after the update we ALSO have to wait…

Winning a 1v1 on an upleaveled player against a full lvl 80 is one of the best things in WvW.

True. It’s a lot more challenging and if you win it gives you a good feeling, but in wvw 1v1’s aren’t that common, atleast not for me. But maybe that’s because I rarely attack an enemy unless they attacked me first or if they are trying to kill a dolyak or something.
It’s harder to pick out the leader in a blob of 20-25 especially if they’re not an organised group. Turn it around and you’ll find even being the leader I’m usually the last one to go down. I usully lead on my guardian which is a huge charr with as many spikes and shiney colours as possible, to make it easier to follow. I also have a fractal backpack and those SAB skins just to make it a lot more obvious :P
Our commander is usually also one of the last ones to go down and I think most organized raids experience this. I guess it’s because there’s always ppl around him that will protect him if he goes down or even before he goes down. It’s hard to get to the enemy commander, especially if you’re the only one aiming for him while the rest of your group is “playing normal”. So I rarely even try (only if I see an opening). I just target him so we know where he is and continue play :P

The only downside I see from removing it from enemies is that there will likely be people boasting about their defeating the underlevels without the definitive proof that that is what they did so they’ll claim anything.
Yes but I’m sure ArenaNet didn’t think that them not being able to boast is more important than keeping (especially) new players in the game. Ok sure, they already paid for the game, but each new player is a new potential gemstore buyer.
And tbh, what my level is is none of my enemy’s concern.
Transmute whites on your exotics and use the most generic colors possible…
Maybe even use the exact look from the tutorial

I’d really like to know the reason for implementing this in the WvW environment:
In WvW, if you’re not lvl 80, why is there a green arrow next to your level? It’s a big fat target for the opponent saying “hey! I’m low level, I’m right here, come get me!”
I can imagine this is a big turn-off for newer players who jump into wvw and get slaughtered everytime, even when they run in a group, because the enemy always, always focusses them first. And I can’t blame the enemy, because I would do it too if I were them.
But I always feel bad seeing those lvl 10 players being chased every time an enemy spots them, especially when they have the choice to follow an enemy that’s really lvl 80 or that lvl 10 guy. They always go for the low lvl, every single time.
The green arrow should be removed or atleast not be visible for your opponents. Just like the [looking for group] icon, which can be seen through gates and walls btw (not sure if they fixed it yet? nobody uses the LFP anymore because of this). It shows exactly where the enemy is, without having to see them. Basically legit wallhacks.
Since you said that next month will be a month of bug fixes, I decided to post this now. Hopefully it’ll be taken into consideration.
