Why does a pvper need ascended items?
all sales do not go to arenanet, they go to NCSoft.

You’re better off just ranging the knights, no dodging/no wasted utility means more uptime on AA damage
But, again, I’d like to iterate that ranging on a guardian is basically just pressing 1 and 2.

Yeah dumping low AP characters in dungeons/fractals is pretty common, I see it all the time.
But thats what happens when people want a smooth run w/o hassle in less amount of time than re-training another heavy carry for an unnecessarily long amount of time.
Newer players to gw2 are in essence all but lost in this game, especially with the current broken economy.
Yeah, definitely a sad truth about rewards in this game thus far. Its one of the huge turnoffs for most content, if its not making me x amount in a certain timeframe its a waste of time.
Southsun – a new map since abandon except for daily karka queen
Tequatl – Abandon unless you’re in TSS/TXS/ATT
World Bosses Update – Abandon unless you’re there at daily reset, or enjoy tedious content
New TA Path – Abandon due to over-size trash mobs, long-runs, lack of rewards
Invasions – Abandon after scaling events for champs no longer mattered
FOTM – Abandon for mediocre rewards; Dredge still awaiting re-balance
Wurm – Abandon, a lot of work for no rewards
EoTM – Unnecessarily large map with over-scaled mobs
ESO is really bad atm, anet should be so lucky.
There’s been talk of an xpac release for 2015.
but by then will it have already been to late?

As a CD native, I’ve since abandon my home server and forced to do this on BG. I don’t understand where they’re getting the metrics that says this is a viable design for this game.
Just stop making world events, if you want to make a challenging encounter, make it instance and increase party sizes to allow something like 10-25man. Don’t make content for 150 players, it doesn’t work, you don’t have the player base for that.

Do you have any idea how hard some of us have it trying to organise 5 ma parties????Instanced isn’t the way to go. Proper scaling on the other hand, is.
If organizing 5 people is hard for you, how exactly is the 150man encounters a better solution.
Season 2 won’t start for a LONG time though, season 1 did ALOT of damage to server populations.
I know this will make your head explode thinking about why on earth they would do this but… season 2 was announced and starts March 28th and runs until May 30th.

People become too choosy. They forgot, that other MMO projects have their updates once per six months\year and community of these projects prays that was implemented at least part of what they want.
I want to sincerely thank ANet for the excellent work they are doing for us.
As an ex-WoW raider it was a good system though, I played 8-12 4x a week and thats all I needed. The updates were good for 4months out of the 6, so near the end its just free farming until the next patch

The purpose was to give crafting a way to make money but since everyone has it, it doesn’t necessarily do so anymore. It costs more in mats than to simply buy it outright.

all balances changes etc come after the end of the scarlet story line, so it may be next week.
Why is the clockwork knight the only one so far, these are really fun cosmetic use items
Seeing the LA buffs, you could also add giant/mini battle tonics
also any framework makeups that share races like kodan and skeleton

I would of liked the holo fight be a 5-man instance, world events are inherently flawed in gw2

I think people should look at it from the guards perspective though. Scepter dps is high but it comes with only 2 skills, AA&Smite, while others have a better variety.
I can throw down my stability concentrate, but the couple of times I’ve done so its not long enough to justify the dmg loss trying to go-in, go-out and all the dodges, when I can just sit at the side, and just basically afk AA
If I can get longbow, so I can use Aether, than great or a way to negate dmg from melee other than focus 5.
While I have very little sympathy for anyone too lazy or stubborn to guest to a server that has enough people, I agree that the downscaling is terrible. Especially when they have an exact counter of how many players are capable of damaging each knight at any time – ie. the number of players with each calibration buff.
Guesting was never intended for this purpose, it was so you can play with others with different servers. If we have to rely on guesting in order to do world events outside of our own server, does that not make the encounter inherently flawed?
Its the main reason why world events are bad designs, they expect you to have full maps, but not every server is capable of that, only like 1-2 can and then some overflows, other than that its just futile.
Scale events to 25 MAX, more people should make it easier not harder. By making the knights only give 50 people buffs, and 60 people there, than 10 people are doing no damage but are still scaling the event further than it should of.
I want to go back to instanced encounters because you know who’s in there with you, not some random afking in thje corner but because of the unsuccessful attempt with the new TA path, I doubt that will be the case.
The chain knockdown on the knights were not a cool mechanic
you know what this makes my gameplay like on a guard? 1&2 afk AA sceptor, not exactly compelling tactics

I did the first phase on my guard and stopped dpsing when the buff had 10s left
I did the 2nd phase but only did one colour until it split
then just hide and turn off AA
I’m not sure if the final laser from the sky affects it but I block it with my focus everytime

also you’re losing the laser one b/c you’re spawning ontop of a laser since the fight has already started, rush in as soon as the 3rd dies

Autumn’s post makes it pretty clear that the “intended” solution was for the map to split up into 3 groups and tackle the Knights simultaneously. I have noticed that, for whatever reason, the 3rd Knight seems to take a lot longer to die than the first two, so there may be something to the rumors that each slain Knight makes the subsequent two stronger.
The Knights definitely do scale up, so it seems to me that the best method is indeed to split 40-40-40 (or thereabouts) players and all engage the Knights at once. If one Knight seems to be in danger of dying faster than the others, some people can head to another Knight that needs more help.

whats funny is that the loot isnt even the same as the invasion zerging or the pav zerging we did earlier in the year that essentially wrecked the economy and inflated gem prices.
zerging isnt really better for business
you have players acting similar in the way as a frog sits in water that slowly boils. Overtime your players start to sour slowly but surely about the game design. They aren’t maintaining their current players and they aren’t exactly drawing new players in this way.
