Hey Kneldoran, quick question: what armor stats are you using to get all that toughness with all the power/precision/crit dmg? Cool build.
Edit: can’t select armor on that site from cell phone, apparent bug
You could always transfer to another server if queues are bad.
With zerk, you get steady high dps. If you want 4000 attack rating for burst, you need remorseless “23k maul ranger” type builds.
Ranger has the highest learning curve of all of the classes in GW2.
LOL. In an odd way, I think that’s got a grain of truth. That’s why so many players of the class are “bearly a ranger”. When all you have to do to solo champions in open world is watch your pet, it really doesn’t provide much incentive to learn anything at all.
Here’s a neat troll for those of you running with a zerg. Next time you see a ranger KB’ing things away from the melee, do “/say please don’t KB things” and then count the number of “why?”‘s you get (I got 4 different why’s? one time, all rangers).
I can feel veins popping in my head every time a ranger knockbacks a mob I’m meleeing.
Really? Because I see guardians doing this WAY more with their hammers. It’s not even close.
Hey guys, I just moved from Jade Quarry to Desolation. My time slot is NA prime. I had fun doing outnumbered wvw last night. Lol SFR, your dedication is hysterical. If you want to keep that red all week during NA, you better put on your running shoes to keep up with my ranger.

All player controlled minions. excluding Mesmer phantasm and clones because they were already increased in a previous patch, now have 71.43% more hit points in a PvE map.

I only use sword/axe in dungeons, I don’t know about that particular golem. Sounds like a bug.
I think the biggest issue is players that struggle cannot effectively deal with spiders. Lots of people can do it, it’s just more challenging in that it’s not just run up and dps. That’s just my thoughts on the matter. For people that show instuctional videos on how to do it, thanks. Maybe even link one to the wiki? Nice work on the fast kills.
Lol burnfall it has too, you’ll bounce back buddy
Lol cmon burnfall cheer up, remember where we were? Its come a long way
I don’t think “too dumb” was the wording. Haha sheesh, harsh critique
Well, last I heard they do upscale to do slightly more damage. The reasoning ANET uses, as far as I understand, is because they don’t have grandmaster traits. If someone has a clear explanation of this, please post.
Logically that means you reflected. Again, reflection OP, guardian OP, mesmer OP. Am I right? Nothing trivializes content like a good reflect! “Oh I’m so good, guardian and mesmer is so hard to play, gee, this is just so hard! I place this wall here and verything is taken care of for me”
“Guardian is well balanced”
Ya right, you all say that because you all roll guardian. I should roll guardian and just have my cat run on the keyboard on win for me. “First cat dungeon completion brought to you by Chopps”
Why do you choose to get so upset over a not-serious post? Childhood trauma related to Guardians?
They stole my pet cat and I’ve held a grudge ever since. I was only 8 years old when it happened. I love you Mr. Meowgi T_T
Guardians trivialize that fractal with aegis and reflects and the stability (aoe) you mention but at least we get a reflect that’s almost as nice, even better in some situations.
Necro so GG easy to play spamfest, not impressed
Bring out your ranger for dueling with me, i’ll beat your kitten with any class
The chest thumping is strong with this one. Face me with your thief after a few months, how about that? Bawhahahaha
That sword cripple is effective without the leap is a fallacy. You will never catch someone running away ever to cripple them in the first place if you get your way, atherakhia.

Is the mob density comparable to other MMOs? I’ve never played another one so I don’t know. But they do seem pretty thick on the ground.
Lol you have no idea. You should have cleared orr alone last year around launch like I did. There literally wasn’t time to go to map and waypoint before you were in combat. It was insane. They thinned them out after that.
Why not just run upscaled? I will tell you. The reason people struggle with upscale would be because they aren’t practiced with that profession and/or they don’t have access to GM traits. In reality, with good play and a solid understanding of game mechanics, it’s perfectly fine.
The drop chance is very low. I’d say don’t worry about it now until you can save up the gold to craft one. You don’t really need it. It’s end game stuff and therefore takes ages. Most people won’t get full ascended for a long, long time—if they ever get there.
I’m sure BG’s mighty GvG guilds must have owned both EP and TW.
Nah, but we definitely know who has owned EP and TW……^^
I KNOW I KNOW
What is… not you?
THIS! No THAT! No, no, no! THIS THIS AND THAT!
If my ranger ever gets a staff, i want a skill set to wield it like a pure melee quarterstaff, Robin Hood style! I may even start camping bridges…
Relevant quote from Men in Tights
Robin Hood: Kindly let me pass.
Little John: Uh, no. Sorry, but a toll is a toll, and a roll is a roll, and if we don’t get no tolls, then we don’t eat no rolls.
[Proudly]
Little John: I made that up.
Robin Hood: It’s very fascinating. But I’m afraid I’m going to have to hurt you.
Oh my gosh, I know right? It’s awesome.
Programming stuff is probably the easy part. Deciding what you want to do, why, and figuring out how it impacts players and the game as a whole is the hard part.
Not to say some programming problems aren’t difficult or that there’s clever and poor ways of writing algorithms.
Summary of every wvw thread since launch:
“This! No, that! NO THIS THIS AND THIS. I don’t blame that, I blame this. WHAT IS THIS?”
Mesmer has lost to ranger on simultaneous downed state since the beginning of the game. You new here?
Edit: you lost the 1v1! Lol you didn’t win. Downing someone is not winning, that’s stomp or kill.
Stomp or kill in SPVP is not always a win. If you down him outside the point, it’s a win. But because he has the stun when you try to stomp him, you need stability, which Mesmer’s dont have, or Decoy, which he still stuns through, or to shatter, which is the longest CD and you NEED a clone up for it.
Excellent distinction to make, thank you. But I still think mesmer has the toolkit to deal with this.
I enjoy gw2 and think anet does a good job.

“Natures Wrath” is the name of my black bear
Nice ideas, btw, I saw this in your history:
i normally don´t write on the forums, but now i just have too. Two Thiefs ganked about 20 ppl in the EB JP. Nobody could kill them. Perma stealth and insane damage. Both were s/p.
Can we pls see a fix for that? I really don´t mind if i get ganked once in a while, but this is going on for 2 hours now. They just won´t stop.
I managed to survive about 3 min alone against them but in the end i just couldn´t handle the damage.
You pumped about sick em?
Dungeon master and high level FOTM player here. I only use sword in pve. Please stop asking to change it. Thank you.
Even with auto attack off its #1 is still a pain to use, much more so that any other weapon.
It also, unlike all other melee weapons, demands a target, otherwise you just leap right on through the entire battle which is also highly annoying.
I am not really in favour of them changing the sword skills, I just dont see why they cant allow dodging to override #1.
It’s not a pain to use, I don’t think. Serpent’s strike—evaded 1000s of boss attacks with that skill. Auto: buffed my pet thousands of times with that ability. Hornet’s sting: evaded many attacks with that. I feel so vulnerable without sword/axe, I really do in PvE…
My worst fear is they turn the sword into something I don’t like over an issue of practice for a profession that is claimed to be “too passive”. Yeah, let’s make it even more passive!!! Woooo lol
Just used sword / axe on harpies on cliffside. Did not fall off once. Not spamming autoattack, that’s why. I’m controlling it. Reflected harpy bolts, RaO stability. Successful run :p :p :p
This!
You sir are a beacon of hope for all sword wielding rangers.
You have like, what, 8s to get off a stomp before “lick wounds” becomes active. Ressurection/stomp; downed is only half the battle. When you down a ranger, blind that player. Poison the ranger on the ground. Knock the healing pet back. Work with your friends to stealth stomp. Chill the ranger. Use stability. There’s any number of things you could do to win the fight.
If you’re alone and down the ranger at the same exact time you go down…good luck, but, hey, that’s one tiny perk that the pet actually gives back and works and helps.
— snip —
If that’s how you truly feel, then you should join the conversation here where some “pro” thieves are causing quite a fuss over “Sic ’Em”.
Here’s a quote from that thread lol
“Ranger Dots already are a hard counter for thief.. lets give them EVEN MORE tools against. At this point I’m pretty much done with this game, between YET ANOTHER nerf and this idiotic gem grubbing League system it is clear you do not care/listen to your community”
Better call the wahbulance
Yeah pretty much. Do you see an instance of spotter in the photo, sherlock guang? Hence my point.

I like to think those numbers are composed of tears, shedding off the player because they cannot be cleared fast enough.
I think the train v train box should have a collapsing wall, shrinking the dimensions of the court over time. No one has time for a boring 20 min 20 v 20 circle shark patterns. Lets have some traps and triggers! Crazy stuff! Lol, make it interesting. Or have a flat plane with no terrain if thats what you chumps want to play.
Max range longbow does too. It’s highest dps below sword. It beats greatsword if I remember right. For a casual player? Why not in this instance? Maybe this guy sucks at jumping. Obviously this isnt a speed clear so I don’t get the circle-kitten over how much this ranger sucks combined with the kittenhurt of me pointing out that really this is one place in dungeons, a single solitary place, where longbow shines. The average ranger PUG doesnt even use spirits or spotter probably so maybe we can start there and THEN teach melee range? Seriously, there’s a gap of knowledge bw experienced and inexperienced dungeoneers that could cause friction in a given group.
This is true of any profession and is the larger issue at hand. Teaching the buff/debuff strategies, etc. i was just complaining about novice engis, eles, and guardians in another thread lol. Every profession has those players.
(edited by Chopps.5047)
Tl;dr
- there are more egregious examples of longbow/bear rangers to use lol
Well this ranger is in bad position. If he or she was near stairs pet would have an easier time running down. Lava doesn’t kill the pet, it will keep bouncing off the shield if you target the boss, at least until the shield goes down. It’s quite elementary, my dear brazil. You are questioning people taking a safe route in a pug. That is like questioning why people take guardians in dungeons. :p
I’d say don’t longbow a boss ever except maybe this instance, imbued shaman, and enemies in TA. It’s acceptable and puggable, maybe not optimal. Of course, never longbow every boss.
(edited by Chopps.5047)
Lol or a meteor shower isnt violent at all !!!, but seriously, there’s some bad things with bleeding trails I think you can imagine. I dunno about it. Doesnt fit
Ok since the joke was over your head let me explain it. rT was recently picked on for cleverly using fiery greatsword. They are known for extremely fast boss kills. My comment was saying, with satire, that unless you’re going for a speed clear, there’s not a thing wrong with a 1500 range longbow vs that particular lava boss. I have several sets of CoE gear and farmed that dungeon extensively. I even like longbow to knock alpha into corners to kick off fights but fighting alpha with sword is generally a good time, but lets get back the topic.
First off, I have both melee’d and ledge/longbowed that lava boss. Both are fine. Longbow is a little safer but actually does incredible damage with zerk gear. It’s really comparable to swors when at max range and it’s much stronger than people realize right now.
Or make fun of me for supposedly covering up some embarassing comment. Read sig: “tin foil hat hearer”

Ok if you say so expansive. I always thought the so called gvgers took flak for camping queue in wvw and not actually playing for tick during that timeslot they have to play, instead doing an egotistical, self serving, never ending league that only certain people have the privelge to particpate in. And the fact that it has no objectives, it’s just…you don’t even stop to stomp, you burst a player to 0 life. So you know my bias. But I’m not against a game mode that people want to play. I bet the snowflakes get their precious sandbox where we can lock them up in “train v train” land. Hehe
Ressurection / stomp prevention are key abilities in small fights.
There’s a red bleeding cloud underwater for your morbid curiosity, gun skill 3 I believe.
I don’t think anyone is against options, are they? So long as they’re reasonable and fulfill goals.
Lol “what if” clearly that’s the only real direction to go. It just makes sense when you think it through. 20 v 20, I’m sure, will have a place as there is popular demand. But that’s not G v G per se, it’s more like Train v Train. I think train v train guilds would be great, for example, at capping points in wvw until those special snowflakes get their own sandbox to play in.
Still, conquest is just, it’s best most balanced gameplay you’re going to get. It isn’t just esports, its a good game. More people should play it because it’s fun.
