Seriously, only BP,CD, and FA still have a pulse in Silver; and only FA can make you sweat at all.
Do give special attention to NSP though. I’d really like their VIP to tell us in detail about how the competitive the matchup is and how it was such a good idea.

We’ll still be here and strong after the Season. If you look around and don’t like how your server is afterwards, take a look at us.

Aurust might be right to be so jaded, 2v1’s are very hard to organize and the PvE influx will make it harder.

However, he forgets one very important factor in regards to SoS. We don’t have anything better to do for 7 weeks. If he expects us to go off and farm candy corn, then he’s in denial.

SoS, Maguuma, even TC; will have plenty of boredom on their hands and rather than just grab our ankles, we might just decide to put a crown on someone’s head.

Take heart Rooster, that map won’t be ready by tonight. The suffering of those who spend 8 hours in queue will keep us warm through this ordeal.

EU has some balance across the ranks, while NA has huge disparities at every level. #3 is massive compared to #4, #4 dwarfs #5, #5 has coverage that #6 can’t compete with, and so on down the ranks.

The few competitive matchups have been destroyed by server transfers to the servers at the top of Silver and Gold Leagues.

ELEVEN of the 24 servers in NA have been gutted since the introduction of RNG matches; TEN since the start of leagues.

The only two servers that didn’t experience any massive influx or outflux were Maguuma, SoS, and BP (though all three gained 2-3 guilds of moderate size).
Of those, only BP will reap any benefits, more due to the complete destack of the NA Silver League and only one viable competitor for 3rd.

Again, to sound like a broken record; the plan to limit WvW to a handful of servers so it can be removed from the game is proceeding smoothly.

Please….don’t make me turn to utter drivel like BF4 for multiplayer PvP

Tier 2 Servers dont have the power to play kingmakers……. except maaaaaaaybe in JQ vs SOR vs X tier 2 matchup, but even then i believe that it will be a race to see who can claim more from the poor third server’s territory.

Oh, but if ranking is a factor in deciding the victor, JQ has EVERYTHING to gain by making sure we take your stuff, while they maintain their lead. I’m sure we can convince every other server in this league of the same.

Every hour that you tick the same, or even lower than us; exponentially lowers your chances of claiming victory.

It’s for laughs, but it will also be a lesson in server diplomacy and that using lower tiered servers for your little games is not a good idea.

Most are predicting that things will follow EU’s lead and there will be a classic 1-2-3, 4-5-6 matchup for a warmup before they go straight to providing the most predictable and boring matches in WvW history.

I said yesterday that Maguuma would need to have it’s best night ever, and from all appearances you managed that and then some.

Whatever happens in the Season, you guys have something to be proud of.

I hope you are ready for tonight, TC is counting on a good 2v1 from us to get their PvE population to give up on WvW for the Season. Let’s not disappoint.

Fort Aspenwood, please stomp on SBI; they need a little bit of humility if they are going to grow any further.

Why would anyone go to TC for WvW?

TC is in excellent position to move up into Tier 1 if any of the big 3 fall apart; they also have been the only guild to work their way up that far without relying on a massive windfall of transfers from collapsed servers. (FA, SoS, and SBI cannot claim this, just so that everyone understands I’m not singling out any single server)

Everytime I feel guilty about stirring the drama pot, the cornucopia of explanations, denials, and straight up bizarre answers make me feel it might have been worth it.

Either way, good luck to everyone in leagues. SBI, we look forward to seeing you in 7 weeks when you all have QWERTY faces from falling asleep on your keyboards.

SoR, for all the vitriol; the overwhelming majority of you have been good sports and I still like a lot of you.

About the only thing the last 3 pages have accomplished is getting you spawn camped for next 7 weeks.

Time and again, I cant believe how easily some peoples feelings get hurt.

The excuse everyone uses when they push trolling a touch too far.

No one is hurt, but I think that there should be a reaction to this because it can only get worse.

I’m sure, right now; that people are moving between T1 servers with the sole intent of listening in on the other’s TS and griefing siege placement. It happens in T1 all the time.

Yet I worry about T1 doing it to T2 or T3 servers (or anyone doing it to anyone). I worry that griefing will become the next meta and I think the more people that put their foot down might at least create some “do not cross” lines.

Besides, no real anger. The only way T2 folks are going to have fun is to play kingmaker, we might have been discussing this anyhow. Just it would have been more likely that SoR would have gotten a lot more support in this line of thinking before this.

If you’re talking about the match fixing, it’s your server’s leadership that’s doing it (aka FEAR and possibly TW). They’ve forbidden the rest of SoR’s guilds from capping SBI’s garrison. They currently have a karma train running around in circles in SBI BL capping everything except that waypointed keep they could very easily take.

Actually, there is so much siege in a fully fortified garrison, that SoR can’t get close enough.

Props to the people who have kept is refreshed all day!

Sounds like the gauntlet has been thrown. SoR, call the shot and say when you are going to do it, I’d like to watch (from a distance)

All aside, thanks to everyone on SoR and SBI who played this match straight; we had some fun times and it was not a bad way to end the pre-season.

It looks like Maguuma has risen to the challenge and will go Gold. For the folks who said that would be a bad thing, I think the server that wanted it the most should be here and SBI is welcome to overtake both of us after the end of the Season.

7 weeks will seem like a long time, but in the scheme of things it will be over quickly and people will start wondering if destroying their old communities was worth the measly reward finisher and chest full of blues and greens.

No, we play the game straight and so has all of the servers we have faced in the last few months, even SoR until this week.

2v1 against a strong opponent, I understand. 2v1 against a lower ranked server…if that’s what your “grand council” thinks is a good fight, then I sincerely worry for your chances of winning the Season…or doing better for 3rd at that rate.

I just find it sad that they found 3 folks new to WvW wandering around, then ran to the forums to brag with screenshots.

Looked over the history of this thread, the first server to bring up roamers and carry on about it was actually SoR.

Yup. SBI being in the gold league will kill the server and SoR is banking on the fact that no one EVER transfers down. They really, really want Kiwi, TE and Abys.
SBI vs FA in the silver league would be a lot more exciting.

I think Kiwi and Abys are definitely not involved with this, and would probably stay. So far only TE has been named as a direct participant in this, but I’ve seen some guilds over there who are playing suspiciously (as in I would wager they are in on it as well)

Sorry but just because one guild on SBI decided to work with SoR in their decision to not attack our borderlands does not mean SBI is working hand in hand with the enemy.

One guild does not equal an entire server decision, especially when the majority of our player base is working during the day.

SoR decided to roll with this behavior. If you look at the SBI forum post screen shots provided you can see that the majority of people don’t really encourage it.

We figured that only a handful of guilds at most were involved and that the majority did not support this move. Any remarks sent at SBI should be construed to mean “those on SBI who supported this move”

Too bad we didn’t have a good chance to size each other up. I haven’t seen so much zerker-gear on a server since DB in tier 3.

Let me talk for a moment about how Borlis Pass went from the very bottom of Tier 6 to our current position as a contender for the top of this Silver League. And this is really to servers at the butt end of the league looking foreword to several weeks on beatings.

A change of mentality. Learning to enjoy WvW for the game, and not the trophy. Let me ask everyone here. How does being in first place change how you play WvW? Is it really any different then when you are in last place? For months, Borlis Pass was the punching bag of tier 5. We lost our fair weathers. Towards the end, several guilds even left because we “sucked” (And ended up becoming punching bags on Maguuma lol).

For those of us who stuck with it though, we built a whole new server from the ground. New tactics, new tools, and more importantly, new guilds. Grown Organically. Rather then pray for transfers or cry tears over past glory we built our server back up from the ground up and used our repeated beatings as learning experiences rather then punishment.

This is why you won’t see BP fair weather or tank a match. Also why we punch above our weight. We have the same population density as IoJ, Darkhaven and NSP and are presently the highest ranked server with a “High” density during its prime time. And it all goes back to rethinking what we like about WvW, and its not winning. Its wrecking face when we can wreck it.

I’m glad to see BP on the rise. You guys have good field discipline and don’t give up.
I can’t wait for the end of the season so we can meet up again.

I’m hoping for no season 2, or at least a very long break between the seasons.

Not a skilled group at all, but they do have some mad numbers

(I’m fairly certain it was ebay but i could be mistaken)

They are horrid in open-field combat but they are one of the best defensive guilds I’ve ever seen. They traited into cannon and AC mastery by a lot, making it very hard to make progress PPT wise against them.

As I previously said, Maguuma will have to play for PPT and have their best night ever to make Gold.

Consider it a challenge.

I should have screenshot the map about 3 hours ago. SBI in EBG was untouched, all SoS stuff was capped. All of SoSBL capped, SBI had all but SoR’s corner (tower,camp, Keep) on their BL.

They’ve been preferring to go after us since the first night, but we were taking it as a compliment and things were going well.

Then last night we saw SBI guilds with nothing on SoR BL rushing to defend their Hills and suddenly SBI was not being attacked.

We’ve also heard about this directly from sources on both servers (confidentiality, so we can’t name any) that this is an intentional effort.

It’s all good though, it’s towards the end of the match and this kind of bad karma comes back around.

I sure hope that when it’s SoR-SoS and another T1 server, that this behavior doesn’t have any negative repercussions….

they were not all invaders, and aurust had no reason to think they were new.

I know, I was just setting the record straight that he had nothing to brag about there. I’m actually shocked if any were higher than invaders, but they are good people. Like I said, I have family with them and they are good folks.

I think SoR can do w/e they want, it’s not like there is an official WvWvW rule stating that you must not focus on one server only.

Actually, match manipulation is technically against the rules and conduct for the game.

Since we have no names, screenshots, etc; there is no action to be taken other than to laugh at the silly extremes that T1 servers go to bolster their numbers.

I went into this with a lot of respect for SoR for not buying guilds, but I think I have more respect for BG’s bake sale recruitment tactics over this one.

The Leagues aren’t locked once the season is over. I imagine there will be a lot of moving and shaking the minute they end.

BP is looking like a lock for 3rd. Too bad we can’t have some sort of in-game gambling on matches not in our own League.
