Maguuma is just being themselves, why anyone is shocked or complaining is beyond me. It’s pretty much a given that the more they fall behind in score, the more people their PvF are killing against amazing numbers. (I think Katniss will claim she got Ultimate Dominator in the first hours of Gold League play).
SBI needs to have a few deep breaths. You are beating FA (having lost guilds and is admittedly tanking [they said vacation, but we know what they mean]) and Maguuma (which doesn’t even start playing until Monday).
Congratulations, you are no longer Bush League; but stop congratulating yourselves and start sending letters with sufficient bribery to hope you do not roll upwards on Friday. You had 5 straight weeks of negative rolls and one week where you rolled flat.
Unless Izzy plans on livestreaming how fun Silver League can be, you are past due for a little face-time with the top 4.
Really hope you don’t get TC, as your off hours coverage will strap a rocket to your butts and launch you into Gold League.

We ported over from SoSBL later in the evening and we had a facepalm moment when we saw that you had Durios with walls, gate, and even cannons. We still flipped it, but it’s just another reminder that we got to work with our PuG commanders a lot more.

This page is very interesting. Selan has admitted that FA is tanking, though it’s called “vacation” (wink wink).
Also, I think everyone expected SBI to bleed off some people as they moved up and there may very well be a complete riot over there (look for a massive tanking effort) as the folks who moved there early on from DR and DH signed up to be at the top of the original Silver League and didn’t sign up for possible Gold League with only the top 6.
If SBI rolls snake eyes and gets TC or higher, there will be a last minute panicked exodus.
Likewise there will be a last minute flood to the server that looks like a lock for the top of Silver.
I think the WORST possible outcome would be FA and SoS in Gold League. SBI will superstack, snore through leagues, and will have ungodly momentum at the end of the first season; right as the T2 servers will still be shaky on their feet (FA is looking very unstable and TC is even looking a bit wobbly) we might even see TC or FA lose people at the end of the season (a lot of folks on TC have gotten soft on 4 out of 5 matches being against lower ranked servers; though they have a pretty loyal core).

What do you expect, the T2 matchup is a snorefest.
It’s the week after DB imploded, so that’s old news and not a real story. TC has massive numbers but are still more fun than any T1. The only news of any interest is that TC is now weaker in OCX and especially SEA.
The only thing left before the 7 weeks of Gold League misery is the hope TC and SoS have of getting a piece of SBI before things lock down.
SBI seems to be “mini-TC” in that they seem to have at least light coverage at all hours. I think they’ll match very well with SoS. For those on Mag who might scoff, we’ve expanded our NA a lot since our last matchup so I hope this happens next week if one of us gets sucked into Gold.
I wouldn’t mind Silver League if SBI were in it with us; but I’m pretty much convinced at this point that one of us is going to move up.
The only way I can see it working is if FA + Mag get T1 and SBI + SoS get TC.
Those in the Tier 2 matchup would like to take this chance to express our envy of how nice that matchup looks.
2v1 with FA that’s good. FA plays the piano with only one hand because it looks too much like a 2v1.
The surprise in all this is how well SBI has done against FA at night and Maguuma during the day. Both those servers have remained ranked high due to having strong presences during those times.
They are definitely a Tier 2 server though I’m sure that TC could still stomp on them pretty hard.
This must be agony for people waiting for the last minute to jump the Silver league contenders, as it’s now a 4-way and up in the air with less than 45 points splitting the difference between all four.
I think SBI will definitely be going into Gold. Their coverage is so high that they’ll gain points even if they roll downwards.
Of the remaining three I put the smart money on FA. They are a shadow of their former strength but without SBI in the matchup I think their morale would rally and they could match SoS or Mag if the 3rd server is a non-factor (Ehmry, YB, CD).
It will be a full toss-up if it’s SoS, Mag, and FA for the final week and SBI get’s TC+DB.
Don’t forget at one point your were a green name dead on the ground. They will grow too, I’ve been monitoring some of the forums (lurking so to speak) of heavy pop pve guilds that are really starting to show up, guilds with a few hundred members + that all have flashy legendaries and such. Are now getting the hook into the WvW.
It will take time, took me time to ‘get it’ why my zerker gear was not good enough on my war.
I actually find it funny, learning curve for me was … Zerker gear to PVT gear then to Happy Medium of both statistically for my hammer build.
My Necro on the other hand, well … nuts to the rest of you, its rabid all the way.
I’m glad to say that I never was a zerkergear rallybot; though the number of things I didn’t figure out for the longest time is embarrassing.

We only lost WvW when it comes to “night time”. ZN was a dedicated NA timezone guild.
Knowing the original ZN crew I’m sure their contributions are missed, but it really hasn’t made any dent in how this match is playing out.
TC is at the point where they will not feel any deficiency in NA unless facing T1. In all honesty I think their NA vs JQ is only lacking in their PuG to hardcore ratio.

Once the “bandwagon taint” has washed off and you hit bottom, you can rebuild from there. You still have good SEA and your NA won’t be so outnumbered once you roll down a little.
As long as NNK and the rest of your SEA are willing to stick it out, you’ll have something good to build upon.

The only thing that makes matches with TC bearable is that they have inexperienced PuGs as well.

Folks on DB, rebuild and avoid the bandwagons. It’s a very long process (look at SoS) but it leads to more stability in the long run.
You still have a fairly strong server and once the feeling of “free fall” ends, you will regroup, your morale will return, and I think you’ll be a solid T3 server for a while; then you can try again at moving up.

I respect the way TC has grown, but you had a small bandwagon over the spring and summer and it’s silly to pretend it didn’t happen. If anything you’ve probably lost a big chunk of that over the last few weeks; so this is becoming a silly conversation anymore.

For all the ribbing, EhmBay are tough fighters and they have quite a few members fighting very hard in the late nights; any Oceanic players would not be alone and would have a lot of support from their community.
That’s just a silly blanket statement to say with TC in the room. Sharing is caring, if our pve players popped into wvw for the meta, then all the better. Our numbers would bloat bigger than t1 servers.
TC is used to influxes of casuals into WvW.
As you’ve noticed, it’s hard to get a GvG in T1, since you have to wait over an hour for their guild to get through the queue as it is.
Add their casuals, and they’ll have the worst time getting their entire guilds through.
They’ll still curbstomp us with off hours pressure; but I feel good about the fact that people will not be able to WvW at all for days at a time. Let them stew in those fairweather juices.
TL;DR: We put in more work than you’re giving us credit for. Same goes for FA. (Not that you’re talking down to us, but by relation, we’re included in that broad statement you made about T2)
Like I said, I have respect for TC and for FA. I don’t like how FA plays these days (Oh you are in a fight with the tougher server in the match,? We’ll attack you too) but I always liked them besides that.

Just over the last 2 weeks tier 1 servers have gotten more guilds than I can count on a single hand. HELL TC has even LOST some guilds recently.

Ive been on DB since day 1 and what ive seen is we have hovered in T2 since about the 3rd month of the game.

Tier 2 hasn’t been competitive because it keeps on being home to folks trying to “create” the next super-server.
I have no idea why Fort Aspenwood has failed to launch, but I hear a lot about internal problems and no one likes the way they play the map lately.
SBI is going to be interesting because they formed in order to win the Silver League but keep stacking so much they stand an excellent chance of drifting into the Gold League depending on how next week goes. I personally expect them to fold like a wet noodle, but we’ll see how it goes.
Thats an issue with DB, we have a large pve population that doesnt get involved with wvw that much, otherwise we would have a monster wvw population.
That’s the problem with every server in the game.

You are being purposefully ignorant if you think TC’s rise and DB’s rise are comparable.
Not at all. You did get this big by adding to your numbers, and it took you a long time. You didn’t get the “traditional” bandwagon, but you continued to get transfers after you moved into tier 2 and continued to gain after that.
Just because it wasn’t some overnight effort to try and stack a server, doesn’t mean you didn’t gain some people looking for better their situation and add themselves to an already large WvW population.
The most frustrating thing about fighting TC is that there are moments when we get a full map going that we can match them.
If SoS just had a few more NA groups we could provide for each other what both our servers have been lacking, a balanced match. Heck SBI is looking pretty game, perhaps we might get a balance tier 2 some point in the future.

As for SoRs issues, the rumours I’ve heard over in TC from a few folks who have transferred down is that it’s BG who always does it to SoR’s TS. Whether true or not, I have no idea. That’s just what some SoR transfers told me.

Assistance with transfers =/= Silver League
I say go Gunnar’s Hold. A European Vacation would be better than upsetting the Silver League in NA any further.
It’s still up to the roll in the last week. SoS could roll some lower ranked servers and drop enough to put SBI and FA into the spot.
I think Maguuma is stuck in Silver no matter what. Either way they are doomed to 2nd place no matter what happens.
So, are you stuck in the misery of a lower tier and feel you get no challenge?
Are you going to snore through leagues and still lose because of messed up coverage disparities?
Or are you on the other end of the spectrum and on a T1 server, looking down the barrel of 7 hour queues as every PvE casual queues up for the achievements? Perhaps you are tired of the egos and whatever new backpack skin you get for being in the top 3 isn’t worth the stress?
Now is the time to come to Sea of Sorrows. With the addition of just two medium sized guilds, we have jumped from 8th to 5th, and are a serious threat to Tarnished Coast.
One of our long term goals is to be part of creating a truly competitive Tier 2. With the addition of some WvW focused individuals, we can create a truly balanced threeway match; not the pathetic mismatch that has existed since launch.
Even more exciting, is the prospect of creating at least 6 competitive servers and encouraging and end to super-stacking at the top servers.
No cowards need apply; we are looking for people who want to change the face of WvW and do so into the headwinds of fairweathers, bribery, and corporate greed.
We do not offer gold or meaningless trinkets from manufactured League wins. We are offering you a shot at doing something meaningful in WvW and to prove that you are truly a step above.

Did SoS get a ton of transfers or did a few guilds leaving really gut us that badly during Oceanic/early SEA?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 60+ SoS blob like that map hopping zerg you had goin’ tonight. Good fights, though.
I’d be lying if I didn’t say we had some NA burning midnight oils; but the majority of it is our OCX and SEA getting a break from a week of FA and JQ.
On another note, we can see that leagues are affecting you too. We’ve never had this kind of advantage at night and it started really early last night. I see your day crew has woken up early and is pushing hard, but I think things are going to be a lot closer than anyone expected.
Not to start this on a negative note, but I notice that our TS always gets the hiccups against TC, and SoR noticed this as well.

TC is still a beast in NA, judging from ppt I think TC can beat SBI pretty handily.
I’m interested in how they match with SoS. They can obviously take us in NA, but do they have the nighttime and EU to rack up point against us?
Mags looks completely out of contention and this latest set back will probably be the straw that breaks FA.
SBI will get gold if they face TC (they appear to have lost ALOT of their night crew) next week.
SoS will land in either 5, 6, or 7th depending on what they and FA roll next week.
