I’d like to thank SBI for their tenacity. I’ve never completed a monthly WvW requirement in 15 minutes before, but thanks to you going “full lemming” into us so much at South camp (SoS BL) I got well over 50 badges and probably 100+ kills in that short amount of time.
Gloating aside, I love your no quit attitudes over there. CD takes their ball and goes home mid-week but we can always count on you to mix it up a bit.
Huge shout-out to SBI and holding their BL. They proved when we attack the NE tower that they can hit a zerg hard without KIWI (The few times we’ve wiped until now, KIWI was involved.)
If SBI keeps improving like this…I better save up for Friday night repairs.
Do you realize how ridiculous you all sound to people not in your matchup? Every other word is “balls”.
9 times out of 10, a group of 3 is going to run from a group of 6, and so one until the numbers get too big to count and you all lag out and blame the other side for making it zerg vs. zerg.
The absolutely hilarious thing is that I would guess that roughly +70% of the WvW’rs on JQ and BG (TW jumped to SoR early, skewing that) transferred, while those servers were either in T1 or clearly going to T1; you all signed up for this.
Every former SBI, SoS, ET, IoJ, and HoD member who transferred to T1 held out their bowls and said “moar zerg please!”
Also…2v1? That was a tired topic in September, yet it’s still everyone’s favorite gripe of the day.
Rising Dusk,
Don’t get your hopes up too much. Only CO and WM are leaving (allegedly). RISE and a few others are staying on KN so they won’t be any pushover by anyone’s stretch of the imagination.
Not to mention all the former WM and night crew people who might not want to leave or might not want to spend the money.
Unless they have a complete server-wide meltdown, they won’t be any easier to face than us.

SoS you better burn the midnight oil and put the hammer on CD and SBI if you hope to move up. With Kain falling down into T3 they probably won’t crush Yaks like DB is doing an then you may not move up for a long while.
Ah good, I thought I might miss out on the Frost and Flame dungeon.
We noticed this as well and we don’t mind too much. We’re still rebuilding and you guys put up a good fight.
I wish that the KN/WM rumors would get an official signing off or not.
KN is going to T3 and I imagine they are ripe for an implosion. After all, it’s going to be a PvDoor campaign of epic boredom against Maguuma and YB.
For my money, I want them to go to SoR. No hating on BG, but a 3-way fight at night would be good for all of you.
It looks like the EMP move was more of a bust as most of them stayed. I was looking forward to seeing a tighter score all around.
The stack effect really needs to go away for the sake of quality WvW.
I think we can safely leave the “spy” arguments behind. If anyone is such a fanatic that they are willing to pay 80G (to go and come back), just to mess with the other team for a single match; then there isn’t much you can do to stop them.
I think it’s safe to say that these folks are native griefers who obviously do not care if they are risking a ban.
The only conspiracy, is the bizarre conspiracy of silence from the support team on why they can’t make a “PvP/WvW griefing” report option. Just give it a high trigger point in the database so that just a few angry people can’t abuse it.
I’m sure Thor (check the naked guy with the viking horns) would have wracked up enough reports to trigger and would have at least been contacted by an admin.
I’d just like to let people note who are writing off DB, they are likely to go to T2 soon. Their SEA coverage is beastly for a lower tier server and I think that with EMP they can take out FA pretty handily.
The new and improved TC might be a challenge for them, but the T1 egos should hop in the way back machine and remember the epic amount of condescending chatter that was pointed at SoS and SoR before they came to T1. T2 is not full of also rans, they are patiently building up and have a fire lit under them.
Personally I’m looking forward to the T3 rematch of SoS, SBI, and JQ sometime this fall.

Some very classy SoS players just now taking our Bay and Hill keep. 4:1 zerg and some of you dance at our dead bodies.
Given the repeated incidents of a few individuals on CD to resurrect mesmers through gates and people not releasing in order to spy (valid tactic) we regularly mock those who take a long time to release.
Given these events, you’ll not only find a majority of SoS folks doing this, but this is and has been standard practice in WvW for a while now. All it takes is one mesmer to not be spotted, and then he can res you and a few others and the next thing we know the keep has flipped without hardly any siege being used.
I’d go even further to point out that if you are waiting that long to wp home, then that’s time that you could have spent capping supply camps, taking out dolyaks, or even perhaps going for one of our towers while we clear out the keep.
For that last reason, more than any other, I would /laugh over you as well.
I think what Lyndis was implying is that SoS is suddenly inundated with trolls with massive amounts of siege and time who insist on using all the main keep’s supply and siege capping us on the entire map.
I for one, don’t think anyone on SBI or CD have anything to do with these trolls and I apologize right now if anyone accuses you without proof.
We’re attempting to deal with these individuals internally.
Where did that massive SBI kiwi zerg come from? Thankfully SBI has always gone to bed by 10pm PST (even in Tier 1 they didn’t break discipline)
I also thought it was very sweet how the SBI and CD folks on the SBI map looked out for each other. I know it’s not in either of your best interest to have us on the map, but CD was really good about stalking our folks as we tried to attack SBI and the way SBI swooped in to save Redbriar was a true tale of comradeship.
In all seriousness though, you guys were tough as nails tonight and every Friday gets a little more hairier.
Oops, sorry about that Eternal!
ok, obviously even the suggestion that the old adage “if you can’t beat them, join them” might be applicable seems to have upset people
Let me rephrase what I was trying to get across.
I respect the heck out of SBI and CD and the effort they have put in the last couple of weeks and I’m sure they are out giving hell to us as I write this.
You guys are awesome fighters and I’m enjoying this match.
When I saw that some people were upset about the nighttime situation, I felt bad. Additionally, I saw that some of the NA posters responding to that were seemingly callous to their situation.
Naturally my instinct was to say “if you aren’t appreciated there, you would be here.”
I’m quite frankly encouraged by the amount of server pride that met my response, though I wish it wasn’t so angrily directed at me.
SBI and CD members here have made it clear that they want to stick it out and my own server’s folks have made it clear that we should do nothing to make them think we don’t respect their determination (because we do).
So please put this issue to rest, because we have had a great and very cordial match and I would hate to do anything to disrupt that.
Thank you.
SoS is the best place if you want to find a full and active community that participates in every aspect of the game.
If you want to see what GW2 should be about, visit us this weekend.
Ghedoriah,
I didn’t mean it to be a recruiting message. As for members meshing or not with the community, we don’t screen individuals since it’s an open transfer process. I think that if anyone is at all curious about how we do things, they should look into how we work as a community and plan community events, WvW, etc.
I don’t want to turn anyone away if they are interested in joining our community and having fun with us.
As for what I wrote, I’m just being honest and straight with folks who have fought hard and I respect. As for recruiting them while we are fighting, I think it makes a lot more sense while we are fighting them.
“We just faced you yesterday and we think it’d be fun to be on the same team because you guys rock!” is a lot better than “Hey, we kinda remember you from a few weeks ago and we need warm bodies in our current matchup!”
I don’t mean to deprive CD and SBI of it’s population, but I look on here and there is some frustration and disappointment.
I’m not happy with some the behavior of some of our fairweather transfers over the last 2 months, but if someone said it was between transferring and quitting GW2; I’d send them off with blessings…as long as it wasn’t to JQ LOL.
Anyhow, I’ll let this sleeping dog lie. Apparently some folks were offended at the suggestion and that is not what I wanted to do.

Chris,
There is a 3rd option. I just think you wouldn’t like the sound of it. Send some SoS oceanics over to SBI and possibly CD to balance this tier out. I mean aside from your massive Oceanic crew, this tier would be pretty kitten even. Also, I doubt anyone in this tier would join SoS, either out of server pride or to get away from the imbalance/loses. Also, though our Oceanics struggle to keep up, fighting your NAs is so much better than Mag or YB. (Mag did enjoy a good fight club though.) So basically, instead of trying to exacerbate the imbalance, help to fix it and send SBI and maybe even CD some oceanics. Don’t try and tear apart our servers even more.
Fair suggestion, only problem is that the remaining SoS guilds are all PvX. We like to do PvE as well and our Oceanics probably don’t see the point in transferring, then having to guest over to our server every night to do PvE in a non-empty zone.

On SBI I honestly don’t care much these days about anything past NA primetime
Thank you for expounding upon the point I’ve made. They would not face being abandoned if they came our way.

If I ever transfer, which is unlikely as WvW is not the only thing I do, and I love my guild (and they have stated that wont ever transfer as they are a Pve Guild mainly and CD is the unofficial LGBT server), I would do it to a T1 server not another mid-range server. I’m sure most “individuals” would do the same thing.
Those are excellent reasons to stay on CD, but why would anyone want to go to T1? Lagged out from giant zergs, JQ winning on sheer ego… It’s kinda a craphole anymore.
It’s always a personal decision and I’m sure 90% of you are happy to stay put no matter what happens.
However, some of you are going to keep hitting your heads against a wall, and frustration will mount until you come to dislike WvW.
SoS does not offer a permanent solution, because we most likely will not enjoy the same successes in T3; but you won’t be facing them alone if you are with us.
“Eternalight.4708: I’m honestly not sure what can be done to fix situations like this. We could easily tie the scoring to current WvW participation but we’d still have outmanned servers fighting larger forces day in and day out. Rough spot to be in.”
There are two options really:
1. Wait for us (SoS) to go away and pray we don’t come back.
2. Join us
I’m not trying to be a smart-aleck or show any disrespect for CD or SBI in this regard. It’s simply that we retained some of our NA WvW strength and we remain the unofficial Oceanic server.
I’m sure that if you’ve stayed with your server through the ups and downs, that you have a lot of server pride as we do; but the green spot of T4 will be filled with either a server with significant night presence (SoS, Maguuma, Kaineng) or with a large NA zerg like Yak’s Bend.
As far as option 1; you can either keep being frustrated for 1-2 more weeks until YB brings a whole new frustration to the game or you can roll over.
As for option 2; we are always welcoming to individual transferring players and even entire guilds who want to join our active community. We have regained our footing in WvW, without neglecting the desire for PvE and even SPvP.
Ball is in your court.
CD and SBI, I’m really glad you guys are keeping things classy and keeping up the fight. Even when we are ahead, we feel like it’s a giant whack-a-mole game as you refuse to abandon the fight no matter the odds.
No matter how much we think we know from our time in Tier 1, we are constantly reminded that we have a lot yet to learn when it comes to fighting even when we are down.
Keep it up and see you tonight!
Emerald Fang is an international community that has active members who are interested in all aspects of GW2. We have players ranging in age to their late teens, to their early 60’s.
We encourage our members to maintain a healthy balance in their spare time, with no requirements other than you come with a friendly attitude and that you never hesitate to ask us to team up for whatever endeavor interests you.
I would be remiss in not mentioning that we have a dedicated group of WvW fanatics and if you enjoy this experience, you will find yourself in very good (both in mindset and skillset) company!
CD, I loved playing with you guys in the past and I look forward to playing against you in the future. I’m glad you’ve turned things around and can now work towards reclaiming your rightful place and hopefully we’ll be able to have a spirited match sometime in the future. GL next week, we are all betting counting on you!
Why don’t they just zone lock the servers down WvW wise? Would that be hard to implement. One of the contenders for the top spot in the US is Blackgate, which was on the way down until a large EU guild transfered there and a lot of people jumped on the bandwagon after that news broke.
I love playing with EU folks and I wish they’s have a “world series” every 2 months and have like servers face off across the pond.
That being said, US players on EU and vice-versa are creating a situation where every server is openly recruiting people from other continents. For some of these folks, winning is absolutely everything and they seem satisfied to break the game for everyone else if it means they can beat their chests and claim dominance in a manufactured arena.
