FA right now in my opinion is in the middle of no mans land. We’re either up against servers that dwarf us, or we are up against servers that we dwarf. I don’t remember the last time we had anything really close and exciting in my mind.

I would love to see some of the lower pop servers consolidated for this reason, or some of the top tier servers spreading out to lower pop ones.

I just checked millenium.org, and you have to go back to week 21 (17 weeks ago) for a non-extreme blow out match up involving FA.

Week 21 had FA/DB/TC. Where TC-rank4 won with 235K, 2nd place was FA-rank5 at 201K and DB-rank6 had 188K. Every contest from then til now looks like a 100K+ blow outs, except for week 24 which was around a 60K victory for DB.

17 weeks is a long time without a decent WvW match up.

TC went through some major stacking, a lot of people were expecting one or more T1 servers to implode like all their predecessors. We ended up with a T1.5 server that can’t compete in T1 but is too stacked for T2 to face.

It would be nice if TC were to destack a bit, but you can’t expect people getting blowout wins 5 out of 6 matches to voluntarily do so. TC also has a ginormous fairweather population that only shows up for those curbstomp battles.

We will have an announcement about the NA leagues and seasons generally soon. But there are changes coming in.

In order to make sure that as many people can enjoy the leagues as possible, they are raising the per map caps and are going to have a flat rate of 800 gems to transfer to any server of your choice

Awww Chris you know we love you fought alongside u guys a lot in the old days before the fallout with MERC and tbh Fang and KoME guild hv something in common we went thru the same pain, server meltdown, crazy matchup against up tier esp TC but both our guild stayed with home server and bleed nevertheless…
I’am actually happy for you guys that SOS grew strong I remembered once we were so close to beating SOS only 20k in pts diff:)

I’ve given my former server some crap in the past, but I’ve always respected KoME and the resiliency of CD in general.
As crappy as our forced 10 week matchup was I gained more respect for CD and those who toughed it out on SBI.

TC and BG have good WvW presences at those hours, but you said PvX. I’d recommend DB and CD for their SEA and SoS, FA, and IoJ for Oceanic.

Of course, if this is mainly a WvW decision I’d say you’d be most appreciated on TC (JQ needs Oceanics badly and both SoR and BG would like moe SEA to hold off JQ at those hours).

I really wish we rolled higher. Honestly I’m sick of the low rolls and getting matched up with servers who are trying to throw into silver. I hate the buffs, but I feel exactly the opposite of the op.
zeroing the ruins is a complete waste of time unless you have full map cap ( in which case the roamers should be working on the camps ) and small organized groups of 5-10 rule that area.
Yes, it’s rough on solo roamers, but WvW was never meant to be solo-able.

I took a break tonight on SoS to watch the most epic 1v1 I’ve ever seen between one of the CNB scouts, an ele, and another ele from KOME who had applied fortitude (the CNB ele did not.)
I couldn’t watch the whole thing but I know I circled the whole map and came around and they were still going at it.

If that level of skill is typical in their guild, then whichever server they choose to go to will be very lucky.

Anybody can karma train up when they have the numbers on their side, but it takes true grit to fight with your backs against the wall 80% of the time.

and NS used to be such a polite and well-mannered guild while on DB. It’s those new friends of theirs, that bunch of Ne’er Do-Wells calling themselves “Tier 1”.

Next they’ll be getting into that new drug “buying guilds for moar coverage” that is all the rage in that crowd and arguing the difference in East coast vs. West coast coverage with all those other hoodlums that run with those boys!

I couldn’t help but notice the odds of a SoS-SBI-IoJ matchup are about the same as the SoS-TC-SoR matchup we had a couple weeks back.

I would like to see this one for no other reason to give all three server’s nighttime folks something other to do than PvD.

nerd rage all you want over night coverage but you guys are going to have to deal with the fact that you and EhmBay are the only servers in the top 11 without a significant night presence. You are going to get rolled in those hours and the CONSTANT whining about it is getting old for everyone.

I don’t like PvD you guys get in midday and early NA but I accept that is when you are strong and that you are strong to the point where we shouldn’t expect to get much done when you are at full strength.

That said, salute to all the Ehmry Bay and Maguuma players who brought more fight to the battlefield than to the forums.

The death of GvGs is probably hitting them hard as well. They have a lot of small guilds with high skill, but low overall population.

Hope you guys get a break for next week and can settle down.

I would predict a VERY close match against those two servers for IoJ.
YB is very strong defensively (I wonder how ram mastery is treating them, probably not kindly) and BP has excellent field tactics (not as good as they boast, though).
IoJ would have to lean extensively on it’s night presence to get any headway and it would come down to Friday I’m sure. My money would be the score would be decided with less than 20k spread by Friday reset.

I’m sure he has room in his heart for both of us.

Yes, but that’s at the crux of why I created this thread. If there are no queues in NA, where are all these people going?

There’s been countless guilds who have gone to NA (particularly T1), that if it happened on the EU side, the queue times would be insane.

Yet there’s still a push for recruiting in NA, even when there’s a wealth of bodies. I understand, in theory, that it’s to provide relief for players who are burning out from doing 12-14 hour days, but surely there’s been enough movement in the NA tier that all bases are covered?

So either when people get to T1 NA, as an example, they find the gameplay not to their liking and they transfer off again, or going there has somehow made them stop playing entirely. Otherwise there would be a finite number reached and no need to recruit more — because there’s only so many players that can get onto a map. Any other ideas/reasons you can think of?

And why is this not happening on the EU side … that a transfer of three or four guilds to a server means hour long queues and reactionary protest?

It’s puzzling.

It’s because T1 NA chews up and spits out guilds. They go to T1, get lagged out and queued up; then get frustrated and leave because they buy the big lie that T1 WvW is the only tier that matters (they even put that at the top of their thread this week, BTW).

It’s true that some of the largest guilds are really out of place in T2 or T3; but I think a lot of NA folks are so enamored of the T1 status that they won’t consider that maybe there are different styles of play and different ways to play rather than blobbing and spamming 1.

Want to keep the idea of bloodlust but not break the stats game?

Just make bloodlust increase the chances of armor not being damaged by 33% and/or add a buff to resurrection time for people on that server.

Do something to keep people in the fight longer and get them back in the fight quicker. That is more powerful than a stat buff, but more positive for people to fight for.

I for one definitely don’t miss those days. Gosh, I would sit in a queue for 4 hours some nights on Blackgate! (granted, that gave me plenty of time to clean my house – but sometimes I would get distracted by a chore and my queue would pop and I wouldn’t notice it until the last second when the timer runs out, LOL) Not to mention – want to play with your guild? Good luck cramming everyone into the Borderland! Map stale and want to switch? YAY! Half your guild is now stuck in a queue! gg!

Yeah, we were a smaller guild and pretty non-vocal during the SoS T1 days so we often got stuck with the least desirable assignments, so getting through queue often didn’t take long.

I’m offended that you posted that on the T1 thread hours before you shared that with us. That delay…hmm, must be considering their offer.

EhmBay is now a lot like CD, in that they hit kitten the weekend but then fizzle during the week unless it’s very close.
I wish we could have had this 3-way match up right at the start of RNG when EhmBay was at their strongest.

As for the “buying” of guilds, I’m amazed that anyone respectable guild would want that stigma. It’s one thing if a guild was looking and accepted assistance. However, how could a group look themselves in the mirror after being effectively bribed?

If we were able to land 4-5 total guild transfers I am confident we could rise to 4th place in the league. If Kaineng is bleeding like it sounds we could knock them out of the top 3 where it would then be YB, IoJ, and us.

I think HoD and NS have some things to say about that.

NS the first T1 contender to get dropped by transfers could get interesting. HoD probably has some people that remember the glory days.
