[goku] doesn’t need sleep
Yeah, you got that huge transfer lately, you don’t need more right?
EU got screwy this week. Higher chances of a tighter field in NA this week?
^ Really busting people’s chops on a Friday afternoon? It’d be nice if we could close the gap a little more with FA but the JQ factor in this match has things scrambled.
We’ll have our game faces on for tonight and be ready to roll.
Good luck to JQ (may you not leave a T1 matchup for a long time LOL) and to FA.
SoS isn’t a monolithic body ran by a “Shadow Council.”
I-It’s not!?
…
Then who have I been meeting with every Monday, at midnight, in the ol’ abandoned warehouse?
That’s the drunktank. WTH dude!?
Dragonbrand is 2-4 places too high, IoJ is roughly #9 or #10.
SoS beats Maguuma head to head and no one knows about SBI but either 8 or 7 is most likely.
You’d have a good time on SoS. We start our upgrades in NA, then our Oceanics, SEA, and EU finish them and keep them through those times. Your EST folks will find fully stacked keeps and towers all ready. You won’t have to spend all your time doing your own upgrades.
Your Oceanics will have plenty of people to play with as well.
Actually, forget about changing the brackets; because that’s not the problem.
The problem is that the only reason they did this was to boost gem sales (sorry I refuse to accept claims of ignorance on ANet’s party anymore).
You know what would also help gem sales?
Lowering map queues and locking T1 from anyone transferring in.
Think about it, all that moolah! All these guys just bandwagoned into T1 have exhausted their gold banks. They have nothing left and now they are facing even odds and 7 hour queues!
It’s not like Devona’s Rest or Crystal Desert has fundraisers for transfers going on, so these guys will have to BUY their gems!
Not only will their be a massive influx from that, but the rapid inflation in relation to Trading Post prices will also make Gem to Gold conversions more popular than ever!
So how about ANet, want a fantastic quarter and the Christmas Party to end all Christmas parties?
Or do you want to spend the holidays working on your resumes and waiting for hiring managers to comeback from vacation to do interviews?
Your call!
FA and SoS need to vent some frustration, and SBI needs to have it’s first T2 kitten -whuppin.
I think this may need to happen.
I’m so curious to see where the line is for us. Either way I think it’s about time we settle down somewhere with consistent good encounters so things aren’t so lopsided (which sucks for everybody). If we have to stumble into a meat grinder to get there, then let’s get it over with, lol. Looking forward to a good fight regardless of where we land!
You’ve guys have rolled low for 5 weeks now.
We really need to see how you face against the low-end of Tier 2. The reason I suggest both FA and SoS is that both servers have significant OCX so our groups will compete. If you get us and Mags, it’ll just be a story of SoS nightcapping and Mags daycapping. Nothing really proven.
IoJ did pretty good this match.
I think the #9 spot is yours; though that means you’ll be facing SBI or SoS 2 out of every 3 weeks.
FA and SoS need to vent some frustration, and SBI needs to have it’s first T2 kitten -whuppin.
I think this may need to happen.
TC-DB-Maguuma for the other. Get DB dropping down to where they belong (they lost to Ehmry Bay, which loses to BP, which loses to IoJ). Get them to T5 quickly so they can recover.
Just saying the full potential of some of your guilds gets tainted by your superiour numbers *cough NS, Agg. The only competition you will get is vs SoR as BG seems to be having some trouble in paradise. And that will be like 3 weeks out of 7 in the leagues.
Also have nothing against HzH, you guys are an admirable guild which stuck it out on JQ during the harsh times. Just have a problem with your gold sellers/recruiters and those bandwagoners which joined your server that will fill your queues once PVE comes into play.
#getgud. NS only runs 15

#Amgud
Out of curiosity whats your limit before you consider something a zerg? Serious question.
Nice to see you sleven. Where is christina?
Hmmm i think for most folks there are 3 type of zergs with difference in T1 vs T2 style
Small zerg is anything less than 15 for T2 while 20 for T1
Medium zerg is anything less than 25 for T2 while 40 for T1
Large kitten zerg is anything less than 50 for T2 while 80 for T1
Sup Fuzzion, Good to see ya again.
If you mean Lee, he split off from NS back in DB and as I understand it co-leads a guild [EE] that recently transferred to BG.
As for the zerg lines, I’m curious as to how Rooster and others would feel about the numbers listed above.
I think those numbers are quite accurate, i’m not actually against zergs i don’t mind them. While i do prefer smaller scale fights i’m not anti zerg, where my problem lies is with guilds transferring to t1 clearly knowing that competition will be thin with leagues coming out.
Rooster, what does SoS really want? Do they want to be number 6 in the gold league or do they want to be kings in the silver league? Just a general consensus of what SoS feels will suffice.
SoS isn’t a monolithic body ran by a “Shadow Council.”
The majority opinion is that we will not take any organized action to lose score, but neither are we going to put in extra hours or effort to get into the Gold League. If SoS moves into #6 it will be because we belong there.
SoS will fight as hard or harder over the next two weeks as we fought the last two, and thats just how we are.
So true rooster. Our 30 man groups should totally split into groups of 10 to prove our true skill!!!!!
You guys are fun to play against when it’s just you, but so many zerglets follow you around it’s hard to get that to happen.
CVT is very powerful in solo roaming, but the lack of power and precision shows in a group battle.
There’s going to be coverage discrepancies up and down the ranks, but the disparity between 3 and 4 is the most vast difference in the game. (4 and 5 was pretty steep, we’ll have to see how things work out with both losing numbers).
They need to create some drastic reasons to destack T1. All the recent changes have created more reason to stack there, they have to create reasons to leave or otherwise they’ll be able to do 2 leagues in Season 2 1-3 and 4-24
What are your play times? If you play at night (server time) you’ll enjoy Sea of Sorrows. I don’t think you’d go wrong with Crystal Desert either for PvE only.
The OP has hit upon a point. While free transfers did result in more “fickle” moves, I think the transferring has been many times worse and more devastating for the affected servers.
It is not a big deal to farm at least 20G or more a day for those determined to transfer. You can decide Monday morning to transfer and be on your new server before the next reset.
However, because of the financial aspect, individuals and guilds are less willing to take a chance on a different server. During free transfers it was easier to see how other servers were and you hadn’t wasted a week of your life running dungeons to pay for it.
I’m not advocating a return to free transfers, but it needs to no longer be the scapegoat.
Number of servers that collapsed during free transfers: 2
Number of servers collapsed sine the end of free transfers: 9
If you all are QQ about being outnumbered then you all are barking up the wrong tree. When I was on TC and we would get SoR, BG, or JQ, we loved it, we knew we were outnumbered, but we liked the fights, cause we always won, they might have won the ppt match, but we always won in open field, we would go up against 50-60 with just 30+ but we were organized, we used mumble, had good commanders, everyone was in chat and listened, even militia was in mumble and we all followed the tag, and we would always go for the open field fights, everytime, and we won almost everytime, so don’t sit here and cry about being outnumbered, numbers have absolutely nothing to do with it, a lot of people like to be the underdog, cause they know they can kick the bigger dogs kitten , even if they don’t win the over all fight.
Yeah, we can see it was so much fun on TC that you went to JQ.
So you LIKE and find it AMAZING to run around in a massive blob of skill lag that can’t do anything but rely on passives and your auto chain going off because the server will do that for you?
No, everyone in t1 also hates this. But honestly, it doesn’t happen that often. And when it does, its our own kitten fault.
The only time it does reliably happen is in three-way fights, almost always inside of Hills, Garry or Bay. If the fight only involves two servers, or if its out in the open without npcs, buildings, and siege, there’s very rarely much lag, even if both servers bring their full map queue.
I call shenanigans. Every time this week on SoS we can tell your Zerg is approaching when everyone starts getting skill lag. That’s just from JQ’s Zerg going against SoS’s relatively modest NA groups. I imagine in your 3 way T1 battles the entire map locks up 75% of the time.
Lower map population caps and allow free transfers off of T1 servers while locking T1 from incoming transfers for one week.
Problem solved; good fight, good night.
My personal research has Maguuma being placed in 5th after league play is over, right behind JQ. I hope we get some cookies for this.
Fort Aspenwood has taken a few on the chin, but they still have a sizeable Oceanic presence.
Unless you have heard something to imply that UA and the others are leaving FA, I think you are becoming delusional.
Also to think that JQ, after stacking even more ridiculously, is going to lose to TC is borderline insanity.
(edited by Chris.3290)
And if Anet doesn’t change the leagues, here’s something you guys can do to encourage destacking:
How to kill T1 stacking via boredom: don’t let them karma train.
That’s what they do to keep themselves busy during blowout matches. Deny them that luxury and they have nothing. Of course, that means you can’t karma train as well but for the greater good….Also, during NA prime time, consolidate ALL your forces into one map (or two). Let the other 2/3 maps be completely capped. They will find that there is only 1-2 maps with things to cap and people to fight. Agonizing queue times will be encountered as their entire wvw population tries to get into one map. Cue the queue QQs.
And for all the oceanics, asians and euros out there who aren’t in T2:
They DO have them. Stop transferring to T1 and head to T2. The foundations have been built…. now come and let it flourish.TC has : KH, Awe, xTyr, INVC, NAGA -> all oceanic/sea guilds – TC is the RP server and has a large pve community. If you want people to pve with during your wvw down time, TC has you covered. A lot of CD’s old asian community is now on TC. TC also has a solid militia force. No matter what time of day, there WILL be people out in WvW (eu prime time included).
FA has: uA, AVTR, NV, DPS, Meow, BKB -> all oceanic/sea guilds – If you’re oceanic, you should know that FA absorbed a lot of IoJ’s oceanic community. That includes several pvx/pve guilds which I did not list. And let’s not forget the asian community DPS/BKB (malaysians, filipinos) as well as quite a number of Japanese pvx guilds.
Both TC/FA have enough of their NA online during EU prime so if any euro guilds transfer to them, you won’t be alone. Some brave guilds just need to get the ball rolling. Take the first leap. Do what IRON did for SoR that eventually lead to KISS and AFTL moving over.
Have you faced any T1 in a while? Because if you have you know you need a queued map to hold off a determined T1 assault to stop the karma train. It’s the reality that it’s hard to get any PuGs into WvW outside of that night.
Welcome Bears to JQ
Welcome someone who applied to BEAR while on JQ.
Fixed :p
Sorry for the late correction, didn’t have the whole story at the time.
So are [BEAR]s a cross server guild? Sorry if this was asked before.
I’ll have to wait until SEA time to ask them, but it was either an individual saving to transfer, or someone spying on BEAR’s guild chat (I don’t believe anything organized on JQ’s party, just a lone individual looking to troll + give his server a greater advantage since massive numbers + 3 bloodlusts just aren’t enough).
It does bring up a good point when you see something like that make sure you note it and encourage others not to listen since that kind of thing was what makes Tier 1 an awful place.
You talk to the long time T1 folks, they don’t want to face T2 either. Only TC offers them any kind of competition and even TC is starting to bleed guilds to T1.
ANet is ignoring this problem because of the massive amounts of money being made in the gem store to finance these mass transfers.
Yet, who’s left to transfer once the only people still playing are in T1?
Already 5 server communities have been completely decimated, and several more have been hit hard.
There’s still some servers with guts and pride (SoS and Maguuma are both pretty resilient) and some lower servers have done well (SBI and IoJ).
For how long will that last when every new WvW development seems designed to encourage transfers to the highest ranked servers? What if they all stack a single server? (MERC’s transfer last week raised that specter)
To ArenaNet, please save an important and amazing part of your game.
Another vote for SBI/SoS/Mag
But not this week because I’m going camping. The following week would be good.
Agreed, it needs to be the final week for a sense of finality.
Next week we need SBI to get TC (not FA, though; they are too fragile as it is) and do good enough to get closer to us in score.
I personally think Maguuma will get destroyed because the rest of us have good nighttime and enough NA that they can’t wrack up many points; but we’ll have to see.
It will be very interesting to see if Mag and SoS push SBI hard (shock n’ awe) to quickly demoralize their transfers or if the Mag/SoS rivalry wins out.
Of all the WvW rivalries, the Mag/SoS one has the most said about it with the least amount of reality (aka you’d never tell from the trashtalk, but there is a lot of mutual respect).
Based on
nPr = n! / (n – r)!
6P3 = 6! / (6 – 3)! = 6! / 3! = (6)(5)(4) = 120There are a total of 120 possible permutations in the gold league.
But then again my maths is horrible. Can someone confirm if this true?
You are counting their color as a possible permutation.
There are 10 possible matchups (listed below for simplicity) with ~60 (poor math being used here) different color combinations possible.
1. 123/456
2. 124/356
3.125/346
4.126/345
5.134/256
6.135/246
7.136/245
8.234/156
9.235/146
10.236/145
I was a kitten poor math student, but is it wrong?
I don’t know when the population cap was risen, but every day brings news of more guilds leaving T2 servers and going to T1 servers.
I want to know how they aren’t FULL yet?
I know the gem sales must be boosting ArenaNet’s profits, but I wonder who over there thinks this is in any way healthy for the long-term aspects of this game?
I think I’m going to swear off any game that has microtransactions ever again. The temptation to do over your customers to meet profit estimates is too great for any company to resist.
I saw the thread struggling to reach 10 pages and thought I would help out, nice timing on the server outage for WvW;
Fort Aspenwood 1 865.837 -29.213 5th,
Sea of Sorrows 1 782.709 +13.693 6th,
Maguuma 1 774.913 +67.605 7th.
Dragonbrand 1 698.915 -113.468 8thGood luck
Yeah that outage was definitely convenient for SoS.
::evil glare:: How many devs do you have that play on SoS out of curiosity?
;)
There’s one guy who sits in front of the bank building in LA for hours and never moves. Never seen him doing anything in PvE or WvW with us.
Based on

Welcome Bears to JQ
Welcome someone who applied to BEAR while on JQ.
Fixed :p
Sorry for the late correction, didn’t have the whole story at the time.
The grub is there to break up PuG zergs.
It’s one of the most brilliant additions to the game and I hope they keep it strong.
I guess hosing up WvW for a day set Maguuma back and SoS ahead. Very odd.
Welcome Bears to JQ
Welcome someone who left Bear you mean.
So honest question; if Maguuma goes into gold, what are the folks who don’t GvG there going to do?
This is what I don’t understand about the T1 servers recent recruitment drives for more people. You’ll spend 4-6 out of the 7 weeks in the league being bored kittenless. People really transfer for some poxy finisher??? Amazing!
It’s about the other tier 1 servers. If either SoR, JQ or BG were forced with the likelihood that they would not do better than third for the foreseeable future, they’d risk a migration of guilds or a full implosion.
It’s the tier 1 bandwagon mindset and whether or not you are for or against it, it’s something you have to do to stay on the chest thumping hamster-wheel.
I have nothing against those that choose it, I just wish ANet would stop rewarding it.
SoS ticking +185 for a few hours while they work on these bugs (they won’t roll back because of PvE, so this could take a while).
Good, it’ll make Maguuma sweat a little harder LOL
I guess Devon wanted to show off his skill in a big way.
Right as a new monthly lands,
Fort Aspenwood’s coverage just got better
Thanks Congress!
Obama’s at it again!
Obama must play on FA. The fix is in!
SoS hated JQ for almost 3 months during the early days of T1.
SoS, lets hug and let bygones be bygones. /hugs
On SoS we still, to this day, whenever something goes screwy or our TS goes down, etc. the saying is “I blame JQ.”
The worst thing you ever did to us, was let BG surpass our medal count. I’m not sure we’re ready to forgive you for that one yet. :P
I’ve been sidetracked from WvW the past couple of days. Going to go in and try to get some trains started!
Gonna train the 3 towers and 5 camps you don’t own…how ambitious!
If you need proof that we are unbreakable in terms of our spirit, look at our current match. We took JQ’s garrison twice yesterday for the lulz and continue to fight outnumbered.
Another moth into Tier 1’s flame.
10pm EST is when the Oceanics come on. The only server less than tier 3 that has any in numbers is IoJ. KN has some SEA guilds, but I don’t know how easy they are to work with.
DB has a large SEA guild but they are dropping and no telling how many will stay on at the moment.
In Tier 3 there is Sea of Sorrows with a large Oceanic population ( not so large that you can’t go in a small roaming group). If you like underdog fights look at our matchup this week and you’ll see a real David and Goliath battle going on.
You’ll be happy on Sea of Sorrows. We have good numbers in our Oceanic and SEA time zones (more than enough to join a few zergs) but not such insane numbers that you can’t roam by yourself or with a small group.
We have been called the “unofficial Oceanic server” so you have a large population that isn’t going to up and leave or any nonsense like that.
I personally find it hilarious SBI is even in consideration for the 6th spot. They haven’t even faced a server in the top 10 since february. They still have over 100 points to even break even with Mag/SoS, they would need some absolutely astronomical luck to even get there
They roll TC and DB next week they’ll be right up there with us, so it’s not that absurd atm.
I hope they do gain points so it increases the likelihood of a match between the 3 of us in the final week before leagues (I can dream).
I knew we’d finally get ahead of TC!
A few fair weather pugs /laugh and all hell breaks loose…
You’re exempt, we’ve seen class from NS to the point where you stand out from the rest of JQ.
Thanks CAA, and to answer your questioning, we stress the “unofficial” part of things. We just started out with a large Oceanic player-base and continue to have a large population today (our PvE and PvX casual population in those hours is quite large).
Maguumans, look; you’re definitely not bad. You got some great GvG players and you got a lot of spirit.
I actually wouldn’t worry about you guys getting “broken” morale-wise if you do go into Gold.
However, you are going to have a very humbling reality check on where you really stand if you do. You are going to find how far your NA really is from T1 quality and quantity.
You are going to get rolled by any T1 server and the sooner you realize it the better off you’ll be and you can make the best of it.
Edit: .7 points till you get to 6th, might as well congratulate you now, but can you keep it?
