So you mean there was decap engineer’s+ PU mesmers+sword thieve’s+ terrormancers+hammer warrior’s+Bunker guards…is this what you mean by unkillable?

All these professions have unkillable builds. (Unkillable basically meaning very-very difficult to down and a single missed skill will allow them to escape.)

Warriors are the easiest of this list to down. The rest are just not represented as much as warrior, but that doesn’t mean they are less difficult. Many are more difficult to nail down. Warrior was no access to every boon, pulls, pushes, stealth, teleports, clones or a near infinite amount protection, regen, cleanse.

Please be a little more balanced. Warrior is far from the biggest offender. It is just the one offender that is seen often.

Minus Stats: Alternate Way of Nerfing Zerker

To be honest, usually when something that requires a lot of server side work is announced, It is something that is already been in the works for a while. All the announcement is doing is allowing them to best how to pitch it and why when it gets released.

This is most common in closed party screenings of games/movies. They ask people what they thought of the experience. The illusion is that the people giving the feedback believe their comments will be acted upon. The reality is that the feedback is only used to find out how best to pitch the product in order for people to feel they are getting what they wanted.

The classic case of this was warrior longbow. They said nothing was set in stone. They defined why they were changing it. The next day many players showcased the reasons given were untrue and false. No response was ever given on this. The nerf went ahead simply because it was already done server side and the announcement was only there to create argument about powerful longbow was, to justify the nerf. Instead it showed how little the balance team knew about the game and instead showed whatever reasons were given were illusionary and the nerf was entirely politically motivated, it was always set in stone and just done to slow QQ down.

Bear this in mind with big patches. They are always set in stone. There reasons behind patch decisions may not make sense. Every thing else after is just an exercise oh how to pitch it when the day comes that it gets released.

As much as I hate that demeaning reply of yours, that is kind of what it comes down to by the end of it. I enjoy my warrior, and it’s getting nerfed. Pretty natural that I would react negatively to that don’t you think?

If you take your time and think WHY they are making these changes you will realise that they are long overdue. The critical damage nerf is caused by finally normalizing critical damage with all other stats, it’s actually a fix. Critical damage had values all over, and it’s finally getting balanced, the “nerf” is a direct result of making it work like other stats.

Healing Signet is one of the best healing skills in the game and 8% isn’t nearly enough, they need to nerf it more and make the active more powerful. Passive skills shouldn’t be strong, skills without counters shouldn’t be strong. There is no Warrior alive that ever uses the active of the Signet and it shouldn’t be that way. Better active, even less powerful passive is what they need. Sadly they nerf it by a simple 8% which is nothing.

I’ve read many threads about bad Anet decisions and how they “destroy” the game, but they were a lot more than a Warrior crying over some justified nerfs.

Warrior; Berserker=power/precision/crit damage
Condition= condi damage/whatever you like/whatever you like.

Crit damage was the most balanced as it revolved around measuring 3 values outside of toughness/healing/vitality

Warrior patches;
under powered, considered pathetic.

Buff to;
Stances
signets
healing
mace/sword/longbow

followed by nerfs to;
Longbow
mace
hammer
damage traits moved to master/grandmaster
stun modify damage
frenzy damage

Future updates includes nerfs to;
healing
crit damage
longbow again

There we have it. Everything you have buffed you have nerfed whilst still maintaining the movement of damage traits to higher tiers.

=you have left them worse than what you found them.

clap-clap.

Are they destroying their own game?..this is just warrior. This has happened to every profession. You tell me? “we don’t want whack-a-mole.”

P.S There is a reason why most of the better quality commanders in WvW are warrior’s. In guild chat or vent etc they are picking targets. keeps, which supplies to drain, which forts to attack and leave to look like they’re being invaded etc.

It shows through staright away in Tpvp/WvW staright away which side as the better shot callers/commanders. If you view a lot of good players video’s of mesmers etc..they’re are holding side points and duelling 1 vs 1..when they get into 2 vs 1 situations, look carefully at who is the first profession to come support. Look closely at who who is working along side the guardian holding center..and listen carefully to their chat when they ask someone to go push the opponents home. It is 99% of the time a warrior who is doing everything I have mentioned above and is aware of what is going on, even if they don’t have line of sight with every point on the map. Hence the QQ when mini map got changed in pvp. It hindered good shot callers ability to read the map at a glance.

Depends on what you mean by play warrior;

In all PvP of an MMO nature, the warrior’s in any guild(s) had fairly straight forward builds. However off build skills required to play one well covered;

Know how to set up a team spike.
Know how much energy each caster profession currently has fairly accurately. (This is imperative for team spike.)
Know how long on each Monks elite and cooldowns are. (This is imperative for effective team spike.)
Know how much dodge/evade mechanics your target has.
Effectively know when a team is going to split and which ways they’re going to go.
Knowing when and where to call a target. This goes well beyond just looking at lowest HP. The lowest HP may still have the most defense and is in range of multi sources of healing/support
Know effectively how to snare/CC a target at the right time to keep them ineffective.

A lot of the great guilds of gw1 did this. This is why you’d see 2 teams both running mirror sets up to each other, yet one team would dominant. This team was ALWAYS the team with the better shot callers, which were always the warriors.

Many people think warrior is thug-thug-bang-bang. If that is what you doing with them, then you’re a casual player and hotjoin etc is a fun place to take them. If you’re not highlighting who the team should be going for, snaring and shutting down key targets at key times and effectively micro managing in your head who has what then you’re not playing Warrior to it’s fullest in organised or competitive play. A lot ppl just can’t do this and it’s better for them to pick one profession and master it and take the calls and cue’s from the team shot callers.

If you can do all this very well, you’ll soon see warrior has some of the most streamlined builds, but the most difficult play. 95% of what you should be doing to be great is done inside your head.

The above comments, with all respect, to me are from people who just pick up a warrior and slug with it and don’t understand that warrior should always be the first one in the fray, and know exactly what is happening and what to prevent and who to eliminate first.

I have complete my condition set armor for my warrior now. Comparing the two sets of zerker vs condi I have noticed;

The condi set did better in Fractals than what i thought it was going to, but it still paled to zerker when situations like;
1) Busting out of arch diviners cage takes 1x 100 blades vs 20-25 auto attacks.
2) In Spvp/wvw condi just can’t destroy a treb/gate or any inanimate object in a reasonable time.
3) Too many bosses are just immmune to interrupts/knock downs and melt condiitons off quickly.
4) Champion health pools laugh at conditions. In the warrior thread there is a video of a solo champ in arah. It takes the player 40ish seconds w/ zerker to destroy. After 6-7 minutes with conditions its health is down to 85%.
5) An excessive amount of inanimate objects that can’t be critical hit or condition stacked.
6) Many of the bleed stacks I was aiming to inflict were over written by other professions that even though they are berserker, their passive traits give a percentage to inflict bleed on critical hit. These unintentional conditions over write my conditions. Effectively it swapped [120 DoT] to a [55 DoT]

Berserkers just has so many reasons why it is preferable over carrion etc. It goes much deeper than just zerker can dodge and that is all the defense they need and people who invest in toughness can still get one shot no matter how much they stack defense.
It really is a deep issue that requires a lot more than a damage reduction to zerker.

Ascended weapon drops/fractal skins can be obtained from levels 20 and above.

Healing Signet Active Feedback Request

in Warrior

Posted by: CntrlAltDefeat.1465

CntrlAltDefeat.1465

Healing signet on a berserker warrior with greatsword and little stances feels right. Healing signet on soldiers warrior with hammer and all stances feels a too strong.

The ability to manipulate healing signets healing is the issue.

Have healing signet passively heal based off your toughness score. High toughness warrior’s with soldiers won’t benefit from it as much. Full zerker warrior’s who have invested more into offense over defense will benefit more. Keeping up sustain on great sword is not as easy has it is on hammer. Keeping up sustain on axe is not quite as easy as it is with sword. This way burst builds can still survive and sustain builds are less forgiving and will require timely dodges and/or blocks and uses of accurate mitigation stances. Currently we’re just seeing stance stacking and attack spamming from hammer warriors. This technique doesn’t work on great sword warriors who will often take frenzy and bulls rush and balanced stance and forgo endure pain/berserker stance on demand to maximize their burst. To me the answer was always obvious like this. Hope this contributes a new way of looking at HS for positive discussion.

Pet Range reduction

CntrlAltDefeat.1465

I know this has been discussed a thousand times, and as per all sensible solutions that have been bantered about for a year, still nothing done. If a ranger is on their home, why is their pet still attacking me across an entire map on my home? Does this really need to be explained? Beside the issues that this allows rangers both range and melee contact in engagements, they can also just fix their pet to one target the entire match to keep continually annoying them?

Make this next patch make a difference. If the ranger is not in range to attack, neither is the pet. Also fix the broken lick wounds. When I down a ranger, and then attack like hell in underwater combat to down their pet so they can’t uber regen heal, only to discover their downed pet can still lick wounds..man, you’re making it hard for people to like you. We wanna like you, but you’re making hard some times.

Forget mesmers and their ‘cheesing’ it up clones for now. Forget minimal reductions to healing signets. Forget dhuumfire etc..patch all the basic stuff that is not working as intended. Surely you can understand the logic in this.

I can understand the sentiment towards why this build is consider obnoxious. It doesn’t require you to fully engage your opponent. A large amount of the time you are just repeating rotations in a round about area. It doesn’t matter if you don’t get big ol’ bomb dead center, it’s AoE is large. It doesn’t matter if you don’t drop supply crate dead center, you just need to be sorta close to it. As long as conditions can be fully invested into with only one stat, it makes builds this impossible to balance in an overall scope of the game without having to balance them singularly as an entity unto themselves. When you make a balance decision in order to advance the game and then find yourself saying, “Now that we’ve balanced everyone else..let’s look at how we can balance engi/thief independently to fit into what we are trying to achieve for everyone else.” Their core mechanics are just too outta step with everyone else.

Until conditions feature like power based builds, things will remain out of whack. As much as power needs precision and crit damage to be effective, conditions should need base damage, intensity and duration.

Profession stacking?

in PvP

Posted by: CntrlAltDefeat.1465

CntrlAltDefeat.1465

Heavy melee has always been a core profession to any RPG and MMO. It is a go to profession that many players like to play. In gw1 this style was represented by warrior and dervish professions. However even from its earliest days it didn’t take long for warrior style professions to extend and multiply in most games where barbarians, berserkers etc all began to evolve to satisfy the large number of people who enjoy this profession. In gw2 there is only one true heavy melee that is warrior. Guardians although on paper look similar, they are very different and play differently. This is why you see warrior over represented. A large number of player have only been given one profession that performs as they want their heavy melee to. If you introduced variations of the warrior in terms of cleric, berserkers and barbarians you’d see the profession suddenly spread as people move to more specific heavy melee playstayles that suit them. Even at login in gw2 there is 3 scholar professions, 3 scout professions and only 2 heavy professions. This was always going to lead to over representation because no play style diversity was ever given to heavy melee as it was to scholar caster professions. It is for this simple reason profession stacking shouldn’t happen. If you don’t like 3 warriors or guardians being in a single match, more diversity should have been given from the start. The only claim that something is OP is when you see multiple representations of it, even though it came from a large pool of alternate choices. In this case it would be necro massively over representing and elementalist barely featuring. A diverse pool of casters of where two of them get pick a lot more for pvp over the other showing mesmer/necro are far more OP than what what an elementalists can ever do. In warrior case it is because of the reverse, you have no variation of heavy melee, so warrior is all you can pick.

[Warrior] Healing Signet Active Ideas

in Profession Balance

Posted by: CntrlAltDefeat.1465

CntrlAltDefeat.1465

How does healing signet counter 1500 dps and poison that melts them very easily? By actively fighting to survive. Actively fighting to survive takes skill.

I only knew of a few classes that can Perma Poison people. So that one doesnt really count. Silly me – Pressing a block or immunity takes REAL skill. You are also forgetting that if they want to run they can…

Plus it will do a better job that people that can have perma regen due to it being 4 times as strong add on Adrenal Health and thats even more regen. Combined that into the class wit the Highest health and Highest armor with plenty of ways to block or invul damage while still healing AND still being able to damage. They could also go the Hammer route and just spam CC….Not everyone has easy access to stability.

Healing signet is probably 4 times stronger because there is weak busrt healing. What healing signet counters is low Dps, which most whiner are probably playing.

A warrior has to survive 30 seconds to regen his HP back up, any other class just needs to press one button for one second.

Shield stance last 3 seconds, that is 1200 HP restored. A thief auto attack hits 1500 damage in one hit, that HP restored is lost. Healing signet is balanced. What is not balanced is the other warrior heals.

If you think warriors are playable without healing signet, then use any other heal, come back and tell us your success, show us how that invulnerability, high armor, high HP is making you overpowered.

You will probably tell us, if truthfully, that you keep dying left and right.

I agree.
Play a greatsword/ longbow berserker warrior w/ frenzy/bull rush in utilities and the signet feels fine.

Play hammer/longbow w/soldiers and all stances and it feels OP. The Signet itself is fine, it is how the signet can be manipulated so heavily that gives it the min/max feel.

All I can say is a free to play game that has players who will spend money on certain items..what part of this transaction is misunderstood? Either retail what they’d like and make some money, or don’t and leave them disappointed and make no money. One of these options seems a lot better than the other.

While it seems that would work, it’s more effective to have things around for limited time, people panic and will impulse buy more readily thinking they won’t be able to get it later. Leave things around in store indefinitely and people put purchases off and then realise they didn’t really want it after all.

I guess this is why every major retailer in world aims to have diverse products for retail in a establishment as opposed to selling things off the back of a truck round town for a limited time. I think my example more accurately shows stocked shelves works better than limited time offers. Even in limited time offers retailers will extend period of purchase if demand shows revenue is still to be made. This is why music artists will set second and third concert dates, holiday sales will be extended to the Monday and rain checks offered. I have purchased armor skins for one off piece’s within the set well after a reasonable period of time. If this limited time thinking is correct, then it would be best if make overs packs etc were also only seldom released so people stocked up. The reality is that limited time offers exclusively work best for products that are limited in supply. In gw2 case all products are virtual so supply being perpetual to meet any opening. residual and after event event demand is financially sound. It costs little to keep the product stored in infinite supply for any current/future demand that will result in revenue. When stated like this, why would a retailer not keep a near infinite amount of product(s) that costs little to store and does not use up excessive display space that prohibits additional products being sold?

It only removed their death shroud and left their red bar still full. I won’t complain too much about DS only refilling life force and life stealing refilling red bar. It is more a question of when one is more appropriate to use over the other. The idea of they both fuel each other would create no opportunity cost within the mechanic itself.

The meta warrior build is 30/25/0/0/15 with GS Axe/Ma. If you don’t wanna swap, youre better off auto attacking with axe than camping GS

why would you choose axe/mace over axe/axe? i know mace has 4 stacks of vuln which are 4% damage while axe has fury which is 20% crit but my point is Whirling Axe to me seems better than Tremor and Dual Strike damage is twice Crushing Blows damage

If u take 30 in strength you can either choose slashing power for 10% more GS dmg or you can choose axe crit improvement. However with only 15 in burst mastery you can’t choose sharpen axes for cool down reductions on axe. It makes more sense to axe/mace so the first trait in strength you take is duel wielding. When this is combined with the vulnerability you can stack for yourself and team and quick hands your rotation is 100 blade>swap>vulnerability>evis>swap>100 blades…rinse-repeat.

Nicely polished video.
I like you’ve admitted you’re not a full time warrior player in their specific video’s. As much as I can understand hanging around the edges in group engagements and laying down longbow fire field and hammer stuns, it differs from what I learned was good warrior play versus generic warrior play. In gw1 the warriors in our guild were the first ones in, they had the highest mitigation and damage output, but more importantly they knew exactly who had used what, who was on half energy and who was on none and would keep track of who was where and single out who the weakest target was to organised spike. Warrior goes from being considered straight forward to advanced when you have people doing this.

The prot monk is on half energy and still has 11 seconds left on their elite.
The healer monk has over extended, but still has viable energy
Their mesmer is sitting on 2 interrupts
The ele has 6 seconds left on blinding surge
Line up their ranger for a spike in 4 seconds
use ‘cannot be blocked’ their rit still has weapon of warding up their sleeve
Our ranger go snare their healer monk and trapped them at being over extended
Ok everyone..3..2..1..spike

It becomes very impressive to play with these types of warrior’s who are not only contributing, they know exactly who to target at every single minute and what to use. It is what I personally feel warrior has lost in gw2 with teams always being spread out over 3 nodes.

Repair every professions mechanics that have not worked properly for months.

Clear transparency with where this is all going. I can’t tell what the pvp in this game is hoping to achieve or make of itself. It is casual, is it competitive?, is balanced around team or individual?, against safe play or dynamic play?

Quit the nerfs where the reasons given for why don’t make sense or are simply not true.

Quit talking about skills being clear and visible and allowing for counter play when some professions skills have no posture, animation or cue. Laws are only laws when they apply to everyone. Either everyone has animations/postures/cues..or none of us do and we all have skill bars.

Make good on statements. “we’ll be working on reducing particle before years end.” There is currently more particle currently with all the new finishers added each update.

Change camera angles so the camera is not behind a tree or curtain. Remove environment if need be.

Forget creative design evolution if there is no feedback about was taken from all of this and what is going to be implemented. I have politicians for this in my life, I don’t need it from video’s game I play to pass time.

If you love time gating so much, time gate forums. People can post one thing every 24 hours. Look carefully about what you like to comment on, and what you feel others have commented enough. It removes bickering, asinine knee jerk comments where someone got spanked and now wants to soap box. Is it censorship? perhaps..but censorship for the best.

Make yourself more visible in game. You created it. You should enjoy your work. Nothing gives better perspective than being in it. I can imagine your busy, really busy. I think it would give more confidence to the community to line up in soloQ, or be matched in tpvp or just even see an a-net insignia running round hotjoin.

Healing Signet: Why it's the best

in PvP

Posted by: CntrlAltDefeat.1465

CntrlAltDefeat.1465

During the last Ready Up I heard a developer mention that if Healing Signet’s base heal was nerfed by too much it would be under Healing Surge’s HPS and implied that this would make Healing Signet worthless. This is untrue

If you look at many fights, both 1v1 and team, a target is most vulnerable after his first heal and directly before his heal recharges.

For example if I’m playing Necro and I use my Consume Conditions heal, 20 seconds later if I’m low I’m an extremely vulnerable target.

Healing Signet allows Warriors to completely negate this period of vulnerability because by the time another class would be trying to successfully set up their heal without being interrupted, a warrior has essentially already completed their healing for that period of time.

This is essentially the strength of healing signet. But it isn’t all.

Stances make healing signet even stronger because it essentially allows for free healing during the period which it’s up, unlike if warrior were to run a burst heal. The normal counter to a heal like signet would be burst, but since Warriors have extremely high HP + Armor, and stances, burst actually loses to warriors because they can out sustain.

I think that logic dictates that a passive heal like this should actually heal for less than a burst heal which requires activation + cast time.

I don’t run berserker stance, so can I have an exception? I often don’t run endure pain on demand either? Can this build have an double exception?

Healing signet+stances=child proof. A child will stand there toe to toe and keep fighting. An adult won’t. The same logic applies when you see a engineer drop big ol’ bomb and have a rifle equipped and you don’t have stability on demand. You can stand there and duke it out and talk about how unfair it is, or you can back off until the situation favors you more. Winning wars is about choosing your battles. An adult know this. A child will just try to punch you in the face over and over. Hold physical damage for 4 seconds when you have to, then release it. Hold back all your conditions and play defensively for 5 auto attacks and then release conditions. Cleansing ire can remove up to three, if you can only apply three conditions then your a weak condition stacker at best. There is no huge secret to know this. Roll a warrior 30-0-0-10-30 (The highest dps) Use healing signet with bulls rush, frenzy and signet of stamina as your cleanse. Get back to use all with how OP you felt. I play warrior, thief, mesmer, ranger and sometimes necro and after a few months of warior’s being every where, i now find them the most predictable of all professions to play against. Their biggest issue is people qq’ing because of frustration because they keep doing what they’ve always done to warrior’s and hoping this time the result will be different.

I realise there is damage coefficients on ranger, but these weapon sets also do condition damage which can/could be exploited. You inflict multiple hits whilst evading 60% of their hits at optimal windows.

it may sound silly but MMs can do pretty good against Hambow noobs,
since most of them are just that, noobs.
if you grab the trait that gives minions a 10% chance each hit to remove boons you can pretty much nullify any stability/regen they have, then just cc them to death while your minions pummel away at their health, be sure to keep poison up so healing sig and adrenal won’t heal very much and keep your minions out of the fire (by fearing the warrior out so the minions follow)
usually the war will chase you so you can lead him (and your minions) out of the fire

you have 2 fears, 2 immobilizes, 1 chill, 1 knockdown, 1 blind, (and thats just from staff)
scepter gives you perma poison and a cripple, throw on warhorn and you have another cripple and a daze.

Careful-careful..you’re providing A-net the fodder to nerf MM by stacking their accomplishments on a build that is 50% A.I and can still boost that amount of tactics with minimal micro managing.

1) Kite to somewhere that doesn’t have a tonne of particle going on. Preferably on hill on terrain. This messes with their AoE skills.

2) play the weapon, not the player. Just auto attack happily until you see them come towards you>back way>wait for a leap>dodge>see weapon swap>dodge towards them and behind them and that will misfire any bow attempt and put it on short cool down>keep frustrating them until you know they have blown their stances. After that they become 200% easier to remove from the map.

I am a warrior player and I think hambow is good, but ultimately it is a very weird weapon. It over achieve’s in PvP and is underwhelming in PvE. That alone suggests it could do with a rework. As long as the rework is good, most players would be satisfied.

I can understand the frustration. A good sword/dagger thief will own me every time. Too much “Here then there..no I am not..gotcha..in yer face..see ya later.” Going on with it. However, when you do see someone play it correctly, it is really quite beautiful to watch. You know at the end of it you stood little chance. However Thieve’s currently suffer horribly from any form of diversity. Every single build relies on the same mechanic—-stealth—- They have virtually no stability and most of their cleanse they have to stealth. A lot of thief players have begged for thief to be given more sustain, and less dependence on stealth. This is why they evade lots with roll for initiative etc..because if they get caught, they are pretty much dead without having any stability, cleanses etc that all fit nicely into any build they maybe using. Sword/dagger is kinda like they got pigeon holed, and while in that hole became good at what they had left. It turns out after months of different people experimenting, posting builds, theory crafting etc..the sword/dagger was born and it happens to be fairly deadly when executed right. You can’t really hate the player, you can only hate the game that reduced them to constantly having to use stealth, nerfed daggers, nerfed everything and only left them sword (Which has also been nerfed.) Stealth/high evade has always been a bad idea in any form of PvP and difficult to balance well in a changing meta. A-net took the risk of including it and now the dog can’t be put back on the chain without thief becoming entirely useless to play in any form of the game.

The dishonorable debuff design is bad because this game doesn’t yet have its casual game mode and with only ~10 min matches for increased rewards on soloTeamQ and yoloQ it becomes a different matter. What should happen if the population was high enough is the game pauses and finds another player or have the other team randomly select someone to sit out.

Gw1 with all it had was able to set the dishonorable debuff around 15 minute to a few hrs.

Doesn’t have casual play? The entire game is casual. There is no true competitive scene.

Right now warriors dominate, absolutely dominate, tPvP, WvW and PVE/dungeons.

Guild Warriors 2

Why? Because they have high damage, high sustain, high mobility, high armor, great condition removal and lots of AoE, and they are incredibly easy to play.

If you were a developer on the balance team, how could you possibly stand up and be proud of your work?

It’s a farce.

You’ve highlight just how little you actually know about warrior. Please take your grudge match that you got spanked by one and get over it. They are easy to play if your some sort of candy warrior that skips on the edges of the battle, rather than being directly in it. Their condition removal is dependent on investing 20 into a tree..what if you dont wanna invest in that tree?..you have shake it off for 1 removal. Also stop with the high armor bullocks, the difference between light and heavy armor is in total 100ish toughness, which is laughable. 2300 toughness or 2400..there is no difference, so please stop acting like this major. Only investment in toughness in traits/runes/skill trees matters. Base armor means squat.

You have not considered that the difference between heavy and light armor is 40 toughness. A laughable difference at best. You have also not considered the 10K buffer of life force in death shroud. That is why 300hps on necro feels right, and 390 on warrior feels right. I am glad we have had this difference pointed out and not swept under the rug.

How much damage does endure pain and berserker stance block?
While the Warrior is STILL being healed, something that DeathShroud doesn’t allow.

If you had the mobility of a Necro it could easily be much more than 10k, especially if you are outnumbered.

Healing signet does NOT feel right, that’s the whole point of the thread, it has no counters and works without ANY regard to environment ( enemies, combat, cooldowns, etc…).

Good question. I don’t use berserkers or have endure pain on demand. So I can’t tell you. Yeah..guess what, there is plenty of warrior’s who don’t use those skills. I can tell you though that I hit a necro with full whirling axe for 11.5k+evis for 7.1+ final thrust for 4.8k in a 8 second window and that only removed their death shroud. So please don’t talk about what is OP mitigation and what is not. Especially not on a necro. Healing signet can be interrupt as well, the person just has to use it, which no one does. You can’t interrupt any skill that sits idle and doesn’t get used. As a dev has said, using it is a big mistake..that is why it can’t be interrupted..because it is never activiated in the first place.

Good work. Some may say this is cheap, but it is just 5 people using pure efficiency on a boss where the major design concept for bosses was to have enormous HP pools and OP attacks balanced by the fact they attack slow. Maybe more work and variation should have gone into bosses so each one didn’t follow the same design concept.

thiefs are easy kills if you dont panic and immobilise them. Mesmers got nerfe. Only problem is healing signet, this thing should only heal on target hit just like signet of malice.

Signet of malice, much like the ele heal do their healing on attack and cast. The attack doesn’t have to hit. So by this thinking 100 blades, whirling axe, flurry, whirlwind attack, triple shot, longbow auto attack will generate more healing than what signet would. If your going down..just throw channeled attacks. If they approach you they get bashed to death, if they back off you heal up unharmed. Great suggestion. Love it.

Dueled a necro.
Counted their dodges and waited for them to be on zero vigor.
Whirling axe for full connect and did 11.5k damage.
Moved straight into evis crit for 7.1K damage
Swap to sword/shield and flurry immobilised them.
Broke flurry animation and used final thrust for 4.8K

You’d think that would be a “squishy” profession downed.

Nope. That was just their death shroud removed. I kid you not. You just tanked 20k damage and call me OP.

I couldn’t agree more with this thread. Dungeons have become stale to me. Fractals have become stale. PvP has become a mess of MM, spirit rangers, bunker engineers that can still condition, nade, big ol bomb you death. Warrior hambow and duel swords every where..yet the warrior who does not have endure pain on demand, no berserker stance and uses bull rush and frenzy and dolyak signet is getting lumped with the other 2 as OP and getting nerfed for justifications that didn’t stand up to scrutiny. There is a WvW warrior vid of greatsword warrior versus sword dagger thief..I can see exactly what the warrior is doing..as for the thief, not a single gesture or cue when or where they are going to disappear..to even watch how horribly rushed missed it’s mark in the video every single time is painful.
Darksouls 2 gets released in March. 2 other MMo’s are released dated this year. Bioware Montreal working on next mass effect series. Sorry gw2..you made it too hard for me to like you in the end. There is just no feeling as to where this game is going. You start off in hotjoin and endure the mess. You move up to soloQ to avoid the mess and get 4 vs 5. You go to Tpvp to avoid 4 vs 5 and get matched to a team 1000 ranks higher than you because the tpvp is too small. I like a-net. I love them..but i have also had the worst meal ever in my favourite restaurant..that’s what PvP feels like to me. You know it could have been better..but even skilled guys miss the mark entirely sometimes. It is just sad something that had so much investment just missed the mark and forget everything that made their previous offering so good. All for the sake of breaking trinity’s and breaking this, breaking that….well, it truly does feel like you broke it alright. I know it seems like I am a nasty piece of work rejoicing in saying hurtful things. This couldn’t be further from the truth. I was just a fan who really looked forward to gw2 and when I entered pvp and waited and waited for it get better..it only got worse and worse. “everything you liked about gw1 and more…” It has nothing from gw1 and progressively removing more and more. Warrior’s may as well go take a seat next to ele and wtheycan reminisce about how they liked us in gw1.

Only proves what warrior players are trying to say. Hambow ain’t the same creature as greatsword users. The nerfs they’re looking at because of how much hate there is towards hambow is gonna kill all warriors that don’t use hammer and relay not on stunning people to death, but conserving vigor for when they need it and having to pinpoint greatsword and use bow to predict where heavy stealth/teleport professions are gonna be.

Dev comments on healing signet...

in PvP

Posted by: CntrlAltDefeat.1465

CntrlAltDefeat.1465

It’s extremely difficult for any class to fight hambow warrior on a point.
The HUGE fire field, their sustain, large HP pool, immobilization, interrupts, (and the sword bug). Berserker stance is broken especially with Lyssa runes that procs every 60seconds. Losing all conditions AND gain all boons (especially stability and aegis) is just outrageous.

Lyssa runes need a 90second internal cool down, in my opinion. I don’t think ANET ever considered having it proc every 45sec or 60sec. Runes should not define any class, but in this meta Lyssa runes is just as broken as healing signet.

How bout on extremely high spike damage, with multiple sources of stealth?..this is what all thieve’s have with venoms. Only hammer warrior has what your mentioning. This whole argument has nothing to do with healing signet at all. Thieve’s can produce healing per dagger swing and in stealth making lyssa and passive healing more stronger on paper for them than it is for warrior. Another warrior hate without looking at the actual facts that what you are complaining about is more exploitable on other professions than the one this forum is meant to be about.

What I’m trying to pose is: would healing signet be as broken if warriors didn’t run Lyssa runes? In other words, does the complete condition wipe every 48-60sec (basically stops all condi dmg) contribute the way healing signet is now. Definitely hard to sustain any poison on the warrior.

You don’t have to sustain poison on warrior. You only have to achieve 5K base dmg every 11 seconds. Auto attack does this on it own. As many people have pointed out the issues is made up of multiple issues. Soldiers amulet, cleric jewel, lyssa runes, extremely forgiving playstyle, extraordinary AoE fields, elites on short cooldowns, damage/toughness and healing all located in the same trait line for hammer, superior sustain where it gates stronger over time as your stability, vigor, blocks run out leading to windows of no counter play apart from perma soft snaring/blinding if u can. I don’t use hammer or lyssa or soldiers. With builds that don’t runs forgiving builds you quickly see healing signet and lyssa lose a lot of their power because you just can’t AoE every 10 seconds for 95% hit rate. I represent the people who will get most hurt by these nerfs. The people who elected not to run OP builds, but traditional engage DPS builds where your aiming to be skillful rather than center green AoE fields on recharge. I have said it before I still stand by it. “If you can’t fair well with greatsword, warrior is probably not for you. It is just how forgiving hammer is that makes you believe warrior is the right choice for you.”

Ranger and Warrior hotfix

CntrlAltDefeat.1465

As a warrior player I agree. I don’t think the warrior changes are good. The only warrior build that pretty much every one hates is hambow with soldier amulet and, if you’re playing against someone who truly wants to faceroll, they put a clerics inset in it. The build is just really forgiving. It has full points in toughness and healing. To me, the ultimate fix instead of changing signet across the board would be to alter clerics amulet to have 100% effect on active heals, 50% effect on passive heals from signets that warriors and rangers have. This way it will affect guardian passives, but not their regen or active heal or buff heals. After this hammer just needs a straight rethink for PvP. It is just too continuously strong in sustain and forgiving, especially paired with longbow. It becomes tedious to play against. By comparison when running a warrior 30-0-20-0-20 with greatsword/ bow and berserkers jewel and eagle runes it becomes apparent healing signet is not gonna save you at all if you you miss your marks and don’t sit on vigor to avoid the things you need to. If you don’t align that yellow line dead center, you lose 75% of your damage. If you don’t cut down the angles, you’ll never get good damage output from 100 blades. This is the core problem to me. One build that is giving a really bad name to the entire profession and myopic nerfs to bring that one build in line that ultimately makes the entire profession worse off. It is the same with spirit ranger..one build that has so much negative sentiment it is ruining the rest of the profession.

All I saw was what happens when you decide to run all melee. A lot of reaching for brass rings with all the range, AoE and particle blind. When you need to keep 2 xslotted gap closers and have a leap finisher, and 2 movement skills attached to greatsword..that’s when it is clear you’ve made range far too effective at running circles around melee and they have to not run what they want, but what they too just so they can stay in contact.
