I heard about this thing where you could play GW2 using one monitor or even two monitors.
Just do that while they fix the problem. Considering a fraction of players use two monitors and an even smaller fraction use three+ monitors, your issue will never be a high priority.
I’ve seen quite a few dumb people post on this forum. Mkalafut is like, top 10 level dumb.
Very well thought out post. Funny how voicing my concerns (being a day 1 vet of GW1) gets me trolled so hard. And makes me somehow dumb.
But looking through your messages in your profile I’m not surprised you’d come here to say nothing constructive.
Day 1 GW1 vet coming through guys!
I’ve seen quite a few dumb people post on this forum. Mkalafut is like, top 10 level dumb.
I dont play Mesmer, but just posting to say the nerf of confusion is utterly idiotic. It was the ONE condition that forced players to play with a little brain, to be careful of what they were doing rather than spamming their skills like brainless. And now one of the 2 (maybe 3) way to play a mesmer has been killed.
Goodjob Anet, maybe one day you’ll play your own game and notice all the things you got wrong.
Go go gadget hyperbole!
lol @ organised group using various strategies.
You’re right, GW2 is the game that requires strategy. I guess I was succeeding in all Gw2 content wrong.
Good to see you finally get it right!

D/D had it coming, it was a matter of time, and everyone knew it.Live with it and move on.
Too bad the majority of nerfs will affect non D/D builds the most, as well as forcing players into more bunkering to counter the loss of mobility. So really, its the opposite effect.
But I guess we should live with that…

No.
But I can read.

Reading comprehension is something they teach in school. Difficult to be taught via random person on a game forum. Suffice to say in the reddit notes, every profession but Ele is being buffed, build diversity is talked about in regards to other classes but not Ele, the idea that Staff Eles are “safe” (despite being rubbish), etc.
If you can’t read, or read between the lines, then what can i teach you from behind a keyboard, via READING?
Make a Youtube video using interpretive dance.

Talk about kitten in a guy’s cornflakes.
Salvaging for orichalcum.
The gem to gold conversion rate is governed by supply and demand driven by players.
If you think the rate is too high, convince more people to buy more gems with money or convince people to stop buying gems with gold.
Tarnished Coast has successfully completed the event nearly every time I tried it in the past three weeks. The Balthazar waypoint is rarely contested on my server.
When it does fail, it’s entirely because of the two issues I listed: people letting the NPCs get flanked or people pulling AOE to the NPCs by standing on them.
People just need to better understand how to keep the NPCs alive. That means failure is because of poor execution, which should result in a failed event.
Bingo.
Hence the problem with horizontal progression. Going after different “skins” is great, but you can only wear one set of armor at the time. Eventually you’re going to settle on what you like, and then what? There’s nothing else to do on a character.
You could try playing the game because you enjoy playing it.
If you don’t enjoy it, well…
I agree with what some other people say here…L2P
If you’re not gonna bother learning your class, utilizing dodge and most importantly, upgrading your gear, then you’re going to have a bad time.
Not to mention, some weapons are better than others.
When solo lvling, aoe skills are a must
Aargh.
Why does ‘l2p’ equal ‘l2 use x weapons because y weapons aren’t viable until z level’. This is the kind of mindset that made me hate WoW.
Really. Are the ‘if you don’t agree with me on an aspect of the game then you are a bad player’ people this common here too?
They’re worse here. WoW L2Pers at least have a sense of humor, even if it involves Chuck Norris and arrows inside of knees.
Really? Sigh, if that’s the case I may just call it a day. One of the things that brought me over here was rumours of a nice online community. :|
Oh, I like Tarnished Coast’s community a lot. I have no doubt other server communities are good too. Here, on these forums, however, you’ll find a vacuous echo tunnel for developer statements.
Polly want a cracker?
Bot bans happen in waves. Gives developers time to gather data regarding how the bots are operating etc. in order to better counter bot activity in the future.
The krait getting in the way of the world event farmers….more please.
So you have a problem with players seeking out and participating in world events in order to have a chance at an exotic item? Perhaps you think players should just be pigeon holed into grinding trash mobs for money in which to buy such items on the TP, or “farm” dungeons for dungeon currency… perhaps you think players should have less to do end game as opposed to more.
Think before you speak next time please.
Could try taking a little bit of your own advice.
Genius move from A.net, they get increased revenue from people spending real $ to buy gems to buy the pickaxe and also remove large amounts of gold from the economy through people buying gems to buy the pickaxe.
I just ran around Gendarran Fields and in 5 minutes saw at least 20 suspicious barrels. All by myself.
Yeah.
I don’t believe that you could only find 1 single barrel. I think you’re using a bit of hyperbole to try and make a point.
roughly about 20-22g, lets take 21g, that abt 525 ori pick
So, u buy 525 picks (52,500 usage) on a single char…
Nt sure how a RNG or gambling is apply on a pickaxe.
Try looking at the permanent hairstyle contract. Currently it has a 405g OFFER
The 1 use version costs roughly 5g in conversion. So you need to have used the permanent one 81 times before it’s worth it. People just want these things because they are UNLIMITED!u compare hair to picks? I dun even know how r they related in any ways.
U know the Hair thing is Account bounded? u can use it on all 8 chars to have diff VISIBLE looks.
The analogy is sound.
One of the other guilds found and killed Sotzz without telling you.
There is usually hundreds of barrels on the map, the reason you didn’t see any barrels was because other guilds were also smashing them.
^ Clearly hasn’t been to a dungeon before.
Just admit you’re bad at the game and get it over with.
Just admit that people complaining about how static the combat is crushes your self esteem because you found it challenging.
This doesn’t make sense because it is you who has found the gw2 combat system challenging.. lol
I’ve never said anything regarding how difficult I find the combat system.
GG reading comprehension, time to go back to grade school, buddy.

Engineers now have a ‘kit slot’, where the second weapon slot is for most classes. They may place any kit here excepting the medical kit.
Engineers can now use hammers.
Necro Wells have had their CDs slightly lowered. The Necro staff 1 attack has increased missile speed. Power scaling on the Axe has been slightly increased.
Power scaling has been improved on Life Blast, it scales much further up at full life force, and down more at low life force. The missile speed on Dark Path has been greatly increased.
Cantrips now have slightly higher CDs (my main is an ele, and we really need this to bring our bunker builds in line before ANet does something really stupid to our dagger skills like what they did with RTL)
Dragon’s tooth is ground targeted, both flamestrike and stoneshards have slightly higher condition durations.
Static Field is now much larger, and lightning strikes periodically within the area. CD slightly increased. Ice spike is now a blast finisher.
Greater and lesser elementals can now attack while moving.
Ranger pets now have an active dodge skill.
Scaling on the ranger sword and dagger has been improved.
More ranger pets have been added.
Each race now has necro minions, engi turrets, and guardian weapons unique to their race.
The Norn Spirit forms can now attack while moving
The asura Golem skills and Power Suit can attack while moving.
NEW CULTURAL ARMORS FOR EVERYONE! YAY!
No more condition stacks limits
Tornado and Plague form now have a buff called intangible, which mitigates some damage from melee and a great amount of damage from ranged weapon attacks.
In fact, let’s just make a blanket declaration that all spammable skills can now be used while moving, because a basic attack that requires you to stand still is always going to be useless against one that allows you to move.
You had some really good ideas and then blew them all with a blanket statement to remove the condition limit.
^ Clearly hasn’t been to a dungeon before.
Just admit you’re bad at the game and get it over with.
Lets keep the system that doesn’t reward bad players for being bad.
Nobody cared about this topic the last time you made it, or the time before that, or the time before that.
Stop making this thread.
Looks like there are a lot of people who love being told what to do in Guild Wars 2.
Is this even a serious question? Cheated of monthly content…
Probably about 6-7%.
And you can have that extra 3-4% if you’re willing to give up your runes. Runes alone can give you +165 power, about as much as you’ll get from your ascended gear.
Wrong.
If you compare Ascended trinkets you’ll notice they are about 10% better than Exotics. So why should we assume that armour and weapons are going to give a much lesser boost over Exotics than the trinkets do?
On top of having ~10% higher stats, the armour bonus and damage bonus will be increased as well (something that trinkets don’t do).
If I give up my runes to make up for the loss in Power I’d lose group support (using Dwayna). On the topic of need vs. want:
-You don’t need to play the game, but you want to.
-You don’t need to level up in the game, but you want to.
-You don’t need to move your character, but you want to.
-You don’t need to get gear for your characters, but you want to.
-You don’t need to kill things ingame, but you want to.
-You don’t need to do events, but you want to.
-You don’t need to pick up loot, but you want to.List could go on and on. In the end, nothing you do really needs to be done. You only do it because you want to.
Soooooo wrong. You’re not taking into account your base stats which constitute more than 50% of your total stats.
Yes a single piece of ascended gear is 10% stronger than an equivalent exotic piece, but that 10% does not translate into a 10% boost for your character.
When you take into account every character’s base stats, the increase from ascended gear (over exotic) is even less significant.
Just using the power attribute as an example and only berserker’s armour and jewellery:
Exotic items give about 1692 power (916 base + 776 exotics)
Ascended items give about 1749 power (916 base + 833 ascended)(1749/1692)*100 = 103.36%
Full ascended gear gives less than 4% increase in power over exotic gear.
Then factor in huge potential gains in +power from trait points and food etc. and the difference between exotic and ascended gear becomes even less significant.
And what’s the difference going to be when the full Ascended armour and weapon set comes out? When just the jewelry gives ‘only’ a 4% difference, imagine how much difference a full set of Ascended is going to make once it releases.
Probably about 6-7%.
And you can have that extra 3-4% if you’re willing to give up your runes. Runes alone can give you +165 power, about as much as you’ll get from your ascended gear.
@ Vanthian.9267
Sry not to many are going to read what you posted its a bit too much for non math major. The point was that even if with the numbers as they are will not excludes you from content in the game making all Ascended WANT and not NEED.This is the point of this thread beyond that your getting off-topic badly.
It is still very much on topic. The higher numbers will be needed and required eventually. Do they scale FotM with Masterwork Gear in mind? No, they do not. They are designing the high levels for Ascended.
You can say that, “But… but… that is only one place in the game!”. That is very true, at the moment. That does not lend towards the future in which they have stated that more Agony bosses will filter their way into the game at some point. Which means that eventually Ascended items will be needed for the game (as it is now).
My first example still stands. Why would you stand around eating nothing but Jelly sandwiches when you can be having a 3 full course meal?
Also, taking out the base stats shows the pure increase from Exotic to Ascended and not the buffed base numbers. Consider this simplified version.
Exotic gear gives: 5 Power
Ascended gives: 7 Power
So the increase is: 40%Now, say base stats where 10 each.
Then you would have…
Exotic gear + Base = 15 Power
Ascended gear + Base = 17 Power
Which comes to: 13.33333%As you can see, the second example is miss leading in the actual increase of the single items power. The second example is a overall increase. Very different things.
Please note: When presenting a percentage as fact while using a formula that gives something completely different than what you are trying to prove is a way of trying to sway a crowd. Politicians and polls do it all the time.
So when talking about a Percent Increase of a item; show the increase form item to item… not the overall increase or the difference percentage between the two.
I believe you will find that there are exactly 0 scenarios in Guild Wars 2 where your base stats are not taken into account.
If I gave you a full set of exotic gear and a full set of ascended gear and asked you to compare the stats and give me a percentage increase that the ascended gear afforded you, would you give me the (incorrect) value of 10% or the correct value of 3%?
(edited by CobaltSixty.1542)
Why should we take base stats out of the argument? Do they suddenly not exist because we are comparing two sets of gear?
When you take into account every character’s base stats, the increase from ascended gear (over exotic) is even less significant.
Just using the power attribute as an example and only berserker’s armour and jewellery:
Exotic items give about 1692 power (916 base + 776 exotics)

I want to ask OP to come with me at dredge part to show me how to survive at lvl 38-40 without stealth or cheats.
also without dying on switches and obviously without mechanics not accessible to all profession (i.e. stealth that is a far worse abuse used there we all know why).
Then we can proceed to try cliffside Killing both room (its doable).
Lets do it and just post here the result
You can PM me….
If you don t accept or we fail (i won t be a burden for sure) i ask you to stop with this nonesense…dredge is already one of the most annoying fractals…..
Rewards have been nerfed and frankly sounds like what happened to AC of some players complaining that a lvl 35 dungeon was too easy………If you can’t do it legit than you don’t deserve to do it at all. What will you do on those when they do get fixed? Whine about not being able to do it anymore? Using exploits is preventing people to learn encounters and improve their skill. You are actually hurting the playerbase by doing it in the long run. So instead of justifying your exploit use why don’t you learn and improve yourself instead.
as said stop talking and show you can
Or maybe you cannot…..More Facts less words…the forum is already to full of Forum-pros that fails in game.
Being one of the most dedicated fotm palyers you won t convince me of this nonsense.
I think OP and all Others complaining just use different EXPLOITS they don t even know are such…or are on a low level and cannot understand how its not possible tanking 5-20 mobs dealing 10.000 each attack standing still on platforms.
Prove me wrong or stop complaining….
P.S: about hurting playerbase…
I want to thank people like you for friends leaving….
They were casual players who liked to run some dungeons sometimes…..TO HAVE FUN !
after they “revamped” AC due to players like you they just drop being because they saw another low level activity taken away from them.So think who is hurting playerbase between us WHO self entitle to say people how to play the game without possibly the proper knowledge….or people explaining why people use workaround to PROBLEMATIC and unfun parts…
Considering rewards also.
Stop talking please.
You’re never getting the extra 10 laurels.
Karma being account bound is pretty silly, that entire system was designed such that if you wanted to buy armour/weapons with karma you would need to earn them on that character…
If you don’t feel like playing the game. Don’t play the game.
Pretty simple.
My particular gripe (not charging Karma to post here on the forums) was not addressed. I’m sure I’ve mentioned it at least twice and as noone responded I can only assume 100% support from the community for that initiative.
Why you no implement this week rarrr?
Nice suggestion but I don’t think Anet has the resources to do this, otherwise a “simple” dungeon finder would have been up ages ago.
sarcasm alert sarcasm alert
heh. Molachev kittentail.
Yeah it actually isn’t any better than any of the other threads.
You make a thread like this every single week.
You had too many people on him. These guys scale up against you. We had Half Bake tonight with about 5 or 6 people and used conditions/combos really well. My mistfire wolf did some great dmg too.
Ugh, sounds like ANet didn’t learn anything from the Balthazar temple.
Scaling seems to go haywire once it hits a certain number of characters in both cases.
Almost as if the scaling is set up to be exponential.
That might actually be on purpose. One of the new targets for the training mission is described as “2-MULT will anti-zerg your faces off.”
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Guild-bounties-bounty-hunt-time/1685868
We have a winner.
Yeah, they totally nerfed the unidentified dyes that can get from laurels, which are identical to any other unidentified dyes.
Great thread.
sPvP:
- added rewards that are useful for PvE
This will never happen.
I could literally auto attack over 500 times with spiteful spirit on me and not die on my GW2 warrior.
Meanwhile my auto attack crits for 1000000 damage because you only have 60 armour.
The only PvE thing you get out of the JP is 2 green/rare items. The rest is PvP related.
i.e. the majority of the reward for the WvW jumping puzzle is WvW rewards.
Who’d have thunk it.
Opposition teams stopping you from getting free siege blueprints so that you have to pay for the siege you are going to use against them.
Seems like a pretty legitimate tactic.
