This thread is a shining example of why, as a community, we can’t have anything nice.
WvW already exists.
But I guess you just want to gank lowbies going for the vistas in Queensdale.
the damage we take while falling should be scaled.
Nooooooooooooo!!!!
Sure, it would make more sense if it was, but where would be the fun in that?
What’s the point of getting to level 80 if you can’t jump off insanely high objects, stand up, and walk away like nothing happened? On a related note, though they may be next to useless in actual combat, I love those traits that half falling damage. Jumping off of things is fun. =P
Fall damage is scaled. It is a percentage of your maximum health.
Sigil of Ice is very useless.
I am okay with 2 second chill, which I can boost it up to 4 second.
I am okay with 10 second cooldown, which 4 second chill for every 10 second seems reasonable.
I am not okay with 30% chance.I’m incredibly glad you are not in charge of ANY balance decisions.
But he is absolutely right. The 30% proc chance is the major problem with it, and keeps it from actually working every 10 seconds.
So it is more accurate to say we are glad YOU have nothing to do with balance.
If you really can’t see why a guaranteed 2+ seconds of chill every 10 seconds would be overpowered, especially on weapons that cleave, we should probably leave it there.

You tell me “what’s up with that”. You who would rather spend hours upon hours siege humping water gate garrison, walking dolyaks to and from structures, spending gold on upgrades…. all for what? A few rank up chests at the end of the week? THAT’S what you’re spending all that time for? I will never understand people who ENJOY this dumb thing you call “PPT”.
Next time you ask “what’s up with that”. You tell me which sounds more fun. Farming points for your server so you can say that you won? (Ironically since it sounds like your playing NA timezone you’re contribution means almost NOTHING since only the off hours decide who wins PPT) Or would you rather test your fighting skills that you’ve honed and been training since you first picked up the game against some of the best players in the game?
Seriously, what’s up with that?
You COMPLETELY missed the entire point of this thread.
The OP isn’t asking why people do GvG at all. They’re asking why people who do GvG are such kittens.
Also, please don’t bother answering, lel use stability, lel stunbreaks, lel dodges. This not a solo problem but more of a team gameplay issue.
I.e. don’t respond with counters to my argument.
It’s there, I had to go to the Heart of the Mists 2-3 times before it updated and unlocked all my skins.
You can sell it when you give back the (probably) hundreds of hours of use you got out of the weapon on both characters.
If I came back to a game after a long time I think I’d rather see that things have changed rather than stay the same.
It’s not that great in PVE aswell. Before patch you needed 6 transmutation stones to change your outfit up to lvl 79, now you will need to use 18 [3:1 ratio, and i’m sure map completition will give you 1 charge, not 3]. Sorry, but this is just money grab, nothing more :/
People actually used Transmutation Stones? Seriously? For gear at level <79, which you replace every couple of levels.
I have like 400 of the things that are now going to be actually useful.
I took this tonight, it has now become one of my favorites. I was thinking though, Post your favorite screenshots you have taken.
Being a huge fan of GW1 this is breaking my heart :-(
The screenshot is AWESOME but stands for everything whats wrong with GW2
Pistols and playable asura?
No.
No no no.
No.“No” what? at least you could use some argument here, could you try to elaborate on that “No”?
No I do not agree with OP’s idea of titles having special effects.
LF 3 War must have greatsword master title for +2% damage.
You can edit your message box to show only Guild messages.
Like how everybody in the thread just completely ignored this.
How do you get a headache from looking at a big head? lol, just wait a day if it bothers you that much. Kind of ruins the spirit of the holiday if people can just opt out of a prank.
but anyways, you could try setting your computer’s date forward to april 2nd. Or back to March whatever. It seems to be client side.
I THINK some people have a type of Coulrophobia(for the lack of a name for it).
Coulrophobia is a fear of clowns and mimes, and other individuals whose identity and intentions are obscured by things like makeup. What does that have to do with bobbleheads?
You said it right here(out of context), “and other individuals whose identity and intentions are obscured by things like makeup.”. In a sense the bobbleheads are an obscured representation of its true self AND I DID SAY, “for the lack of a name for it”. Go figure.
Someone has to be the word police.
So you think that instead arenanet will just let you save up 200 tickets in exchange for just 250 badges?
So, in other words. Instead of spending 300 tickets to buy one mistforged weapon. You can spend an extra 750 badges and get three mistforged weapons?
I admire your optimism, but i really dont think so.
What’s the point of adding the MF recipe then, if you’re gonna go spend MORE and do the extra effort, for the exact same item?
This.
The reason why i think it is a must need it will bring more rping , bring more pvping amongs guilds aka gvg GOD I MISS THAT also gives more to the gamers haveiing own housing , would give rpers more in dept to there rping and also to the perosnlize there own toons and have or be able to craft it guild halls the same way i basicly was looking for this so much when guild wars 2 came out main reason why i bought the game was for that it was a big let down that this wasnt added but the game it self wasa great turn around i look forward to anet and guild wars 2 to bring these housing and guild halls out i think speak for alot of ppl when i say pplease brign these things out
2 commas!
Hello I just don’t understand how the PvP players have a very sure chance of obtaining a legendary weapon gift or precursor and you guys don’t implement the same for PvE players. Just stating that in my opinion its unfair and bias.
Before this tournament an sPvP player could never get a legendary. In my opinion this is unfair and biased.
The daily tracker is right there in the top right of the screen, directly under the personal story tracker. There is absolutely no way someone can miss it. On the road to level 34 the new player has almost certainly completed a daily or two already.
Why is someone who has just purchased the game less important than you?
How does someone who has just purchased the game and has a level 34 character complete daily objectives in Iron Marches? That person has to miss out on the daily rewards.
Why should that player miss out on daily rewards?
Because they haven’t been phased out yet?
Wait… you’re talking to the OP, aren’t you?
Yeah….
I used it on my mesmer when I was leveling her solo around the world. The wolf did me a whole lot better than a couple of seconds of quickness or turning an enemy into a moa.
Did you buy the Heroic edition or the Deluxe edition?
Post the combat log.
Thread of the year? 12 days in.
You can push with knockback skills.

Probably cheaper to make superior runes of the krait. You’ll need to make a lot though. 50+
- Destructible objects are immune to bleeds
I think it would be dumber if you could bleed a tent to destroy it.
Hahahaha. This game would collapse the minute that a subscription fee is implemented. I am very sure that the majority of the population would leave, including myself. Then the GW2 box would be used to keep me warm at night when I use it in place of fire starter. It’s a good idea for the minority, but for the majority, it is not.
Didn’t even read it.
7 whole months.
- Map completion: Lol, this one will never even be considered, I know, due to the gifts and etc. But as someone who has absolutely no interest in the world completion rubbish, cant help but wish the WPs to be unlocked at the very least.
I’m going to ignore the rest of this topic just to tell you that this is a terrible idea.
Hard to say but generally speaking I’ve probably acquired more gold by using WP than I’ve paid in fees. I think the highest fee is around 5s but I forgot where the two points were. Had to pay that just the other day.
I think the most expensive wps travel is between temple of grenth’s wp and CoF.
Eye of the North to Shipwreck Rock (Grenth was contested so I couldn’t see the price) was 5.36 silver.
You can get ~67 waypoint uses for 1 gold at level 80 at the cheapest.
The game has been out for a year so if I took a conservative estimate of 40 waypoint uses per day I would have waypointed 14600 times which would cost around 219 gold if I went very short distances each time.
I estimate, including repair costs, that I’ve spent ~360-400 gold waypointing and repairing.
Waypoint costs are not something people tend to think about. Whatever you estimate your cost being you should probably quadruple it to get an accurate estimate.
You could easily spend 40-50 silver a day chasing world bosses.
Guild mate has a sylvari character named Gourdon Ramsay.
The areas that count towards the achievement are specifically areas that when uncovered have a little bit of text on the map.
If you go to the wiki and look at any zone the map will be divided into sections, these are the sections you need to uncover.
Haha. Definitely not. Three out of four of my friends quit this game, and I asked them to take a look at some of the new content recently. Two of them logged in and played for about 5 minutes, then logged out and said they’d rather play barbie dolls with their kids or get hit by an oncoming train. The other person logged in for about 10 seconds, calmly logged out and uninstalled GW2, then took the disc and threw it out the nearest window into his backyard, to which the dogs happily devoured it and tore it apart.
I’ll tell you my experience. I had to keep switching guilds because I was pretty much the only one that ever logged in anymore. And they were massive guilds too! Each had just over 470 members, and they were thriving a few months ago. I am now in a guild with 100 members, of which 30 are active every few days. I can’t find anyone in PvE (and I play PvE for like 6 hours a day), and I can’t even capture a mini tower in WvW because I’m the only one there. Honestly, even patch days are looking sad on my server. There used to be huge numbers of people that showed up. Now I’m lucky to even get 7 people for Jormag or any other meta boss.
Ladies and gentlemen, the most hyperbolic post in the history of the GW2 forums.
They said they would replace magic find with something else so that it is not a loss. If they don’t do this with Celestial gear, it is simply a fact that they lied.

Let’s go over how John Smith outlined the Gem Exchange again.
It was founded with a extremely large but finite supply of Gems and a much smaller amount of gold. The Gems you get when buying comes from this supply and Gold you get by selling gems come from this supply.
The exchange rate is the ratio between the amount of exchange Gems and exchange Gold. At the start to was around 100 Gems for every 25s. The Gold to Gems rate is this ratio divided by 0.85 while Gems to Gold rate is this ratio multiplied by 0.85.
As Gems are bought the amount of Gems in the exchange goes down while the amount of Gold at the exchange increases which makes the rate go up. Conversely buying Gold with Gems decreases the amount of Gold at the exchange while increasing the amount of Gems at the exchange which makes the rate go down.
This means the more Gems we buy, the more the rate increases. And since it’s a ratio it will increase at a faster and faster pace as the number of Gems in the exchange dwindle. The theory is that at some point the Gem to Gold rate, which increases at the same rate as Gold to Gems, will become attractive enough for players to by Gems with cash and exchange them for Gold. And once Gems entering the exchange balances the Gems leaving the exchange, the rates will stabilize.
Problem is too many players believe that Gold to Gems is the primary way to buy items from the Gem store. IT’s NOT, NEVER WAS. ANet need players to buy Gems with cash. That’s what pays the bills. The exchange has multiple purposes. First it’s ANet rewarding those who figured out a way to make a lot of gold in the game since they are driving the economy. Second, it allowed players early on a taste of what’s available at the Gem store with out needing to invest anymore money into the game. That’s the true purpose of BLTCs, it’s a Whitman sampler of Gem store items. Third, the exchange is also a way for ANet to sell gold without creating anymore other than the initial small exchange supply, the rest being player funded. Same is true with resupplying the exchange with Gems, it’s up to the players to sell Gems to the exchange. ANet will only create Gems for cold hard cash. So at some point in the future the Gems that are being bought for Gold WILL BE Gems that players once bought for cash. The exchange is truly an exchange.
The question now is does this method, as oppose to determining the rate of the proxy currency on an open market like it’s done in EVE or Wildstar is better or worse than the automated system we have. Of course in those games all the supply is player driven, there was/will be no seeding the supply of the proxy currency. So is our method encouraging players to adopt playing styles that focus solely on gold generation, which is self defeating in the long run as the rate goes up faster as more gems are bought than sold, independent of the actual change in money supply?
No one will understand the truth here.
It’s far easier for the dumbs to blame ANet or NCSoft.
To the uninformed masses someone at ANet or NCSoft is just sitting at a computer cranking a slider up laughing maniacally…
It’s funny, but I could just work an hour of overtime and make more gold converting gems to gold than I could possibly farm in that hour and this rate is only getting better for me.
“The selfish ones are the people trying to make others play the game the way they don’t want to play it.”
I would be quite happy for farmers to go to their own overflow and kill champions as much as they want. Unfortunately when someone joins a zone they can’t choose the people they are playing with even though they are reliant on them to complete the event. They can’t kick the people who are only interested in their own loot bags and replace them with people who will work together to complete the event.
So let me get this straight. I (and every other farmer) am supposed to sacrifice my farm so every kitten person who has yet to kill Scarlet can have their achievement? Mind you, farmers or no farmers, the event is successfully completed 50% or more of the time. So they maybe have to join another one or two invasions to get their achievement, while I’m endlessly trying to complete the achievement for them, with no benefit to myself. That makes perfect sense. Nevertheless, I got a better idea, how about you go take your self entitled butt to overflow, and complete the achievement there.
My loot bags are full every time I do these wars events and I’ve got more exotic items than I’ve ever seen in a week before. Nobody needs to become complicit in the failing of these events in order to get a decent reward for their time.
This event is only worth it if you’re farming champions. Otherwise, there are better places to farm. End of story.
l o kittening l.
pot, kettle. kettle, pot
I’m glad they went the single minipet for everyone idea rather than the GW1 model where players with more characters essentially got richer than those with less. I know I personally made 8 characters on launch day for that exact reason and I’m pretty sure a lot of other people also did this
However, I feel we should have received a separate mail with the minipet for the account birthday (so that you only receive one) and a birthday present per character that contained the extra boosts.
This is the description in the Gem Store when you hover over the item:
A full set of heavy armor skins based on the original Guild Wars Primeval armour set. This skin has no stats of its own and can only be equipped by characters who wear heavy armour.
The skin can be applied once per piece to replace the appearance of another heavy armour item.
This skin can be converted for PvP use.
Consumable
Account BoundWhile it may possibly be confusing for someone new to the game, if you already know what armour your profession uses, then it’s just a case you didn’t read the description properly.
Look man. Is just armor skins. So I didn’t want to waste time look in BLTC. Also I didn’t expect that armor skins only for specify class.
That onus is down to you then for not looking at what you’re purchasing.
Anet hasn’t cheated you in any way, shape or form, since they’ve written what the armour is, and for what armour class it’s used for and, by your own admission, you didn’t bother to read the label.
Robotukas did not purchase primeval armour from the BLTC.
Robotukas received the set of armour after buying the heroic edition of Guild Wars 2 and selecting primeval armour as the legacy choice. Robotukas is asking why the suit of legacy armour you receive from this heroic edition does not mention what armour class it is for before it is accepted.
You should not have to check the gem store to simply see what class of armour you are receiving. Especially considering new players to the game will be presented with this the instant they log in.
I’m glad the commander tag isn’t a 100G license to spam.
Where does it say that?
They could mean things like the Unlimited Gathering Tools, since they tended to be based around that particular story-arc and were exclusive to the store.
10 Days of Black Lion Sales – Begins August 23
Starting at 12:01AM PT on Friday, August 23, each day for 10 consecutive days we’ll be bringing back items and weapon skins that had limited sales during the first year of Guild Wars 2.*This is in such poor taste. I still can not even believe they are doing this. *
What in the actual kitten.
Exchange cash money for a visa debit gift card (places like myer or even woolworths/coles might have them).
Buy gems because it is literally a prepaid credit card.

There has been a total of maybe 5 hours unscheduled down time and maybe a day of scheduled down time in the entire year GW2 has been released.
Get over yourself.
Part of the problem I’ve noticed recently is actually more to do with other players attitudes than the commanders themselves.
For example the other day in the Pavilion a commander and presumably a group of other players were farming destroyers when the two boss events started up. Some people wanted to go and fight the bosses while others wanted to keep farming.
Normally this shouldn’t be an issue at all, there were more than enough people on the map to do both. But some people seemed to have it fixed in their head that they couldn’t go and do the bosses unless and until the commander did, or another commander came on and started doing them.
So instead of just coming to join those of us making our way to the boss they sat in the ring in the middle demanding, in increasingly abusive language, that the commander stop doing what she wanted and do what they wanted to do…so that they would be able to follow.
Hopefully that’s an isolated incident but I have seen similar things in other situations, people having unrealistic expectations of commanders, like assuming if they’re near a dungeon entrance then it will be open soon and they are personally responsible for making this happen, no matter what they’re actually doing there.
Of course I’ve also seen some really bad commanders, either doing the opposite of that and demanding that everyone on the map does as they’re told just because they switched their icon on, or just doing a bad job of leading people through whatever they’re doing. But I think there’s definitely 2 sides to the issue.
You can lead a horse to water, people are idiots.
