Hey guys I’m not going to research my rant. I’m just going to rant OK?
Amazon is a 3rd party…
You aren’t paying for the core game.
Quality A Grade thread mate. Try to do some research next time.
Small guilds are just parties with a fancy name.
For 3 years you’ve been banging on about this. Let it go buddy.
It will be accepted as the new normal. It’s just that utilities, elites, and heal skills you had access to will be wiped out, and you will have to buy them again with mastery points which are only derived from your level and doing at least 69 skill challenges.
I thought that the new player experience was quite nice though. and no doubt that this new new player experience will be equally as nice.
65 skill challenges, not 69.
thanks, don’t know where the 69 came from.
You’ve got a dirty mind.
It literally costs you nothing to log in and check for yourself.
Your thread is off to a blinding start m8.
What do you expect when you start a thread like a bratty child?
Heaven forbid you actually have to use a skill other than good ole #1 or use your dodge in PvE.
You know the reason why it is in 2 hours blocks right? So they can take down the servers and make tweaks for the next 2 hour block. Otherwise you would just run the test for a constant block of hours.
Pretty hard to change things when no-one is in the office.
That is why the test is during during office hours.
I assume every race will eventually get the spotlight in some upcoming xpac/update, probably against their own dragon. I can’t wait to see what the Charr get. I’m calling it now, the Black Citadel will go all Metroplex on us and turn into a giant catcow robot
Preordering now.

You don’t know the time frame of pre-order being available.
There could be 5 beta events in the time the pre-order beta access becomes available.
I lost Genesis (93g hammer) due to the rollbacks. Submitted a ticket to have it returned. ANET rep told me that they checked their records and the rollbacks were not their fault. As such, they refused to return my lost items. I tried to escalate the ticket. I plan on posting the whole conversation if not resolved.
I look forward to you trying to make someone just doing their job out to be the bad guy.
It’s FAR easier to refund money on preorders that people over pay for than it is to require every preorderer to pay more money.
This just happened to me after killing Teq.. Lost all my loot all the Karma everything like I never did anything. If I am going to put the time in to fight the world bosses and then be penalized for spending said time, I will just stop doing that content. This is ridiculous.
Wow.
You’re acting like a rollback is a daily occurrence and not something that happens once every 2 years.
The permanent items in my characters inventory is really annoying. I have items, I never use, yet it is still something in may keep for the future – like https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pile_of_Phantasmal_Residue
It’s cluttered with stuff like this. And I don’t get why they introduce new currencies like the geodes and bandit badges but don’t implement it into the currency tab.
Use your bank thats what its there for
I bought a bank slot… it was filled within 30 minutes, it hardly solves the problem
Buy another one i guess your not maxed out
I am maxed out on bank and bags.
i have different armor and weapon sets. Tonics, toys, currencies, environmental weapons, non deposit crafting materials.
I bet your house is full of newspapers.
Only 2 classes can fear. (Plus a couple of pets and a stolen skill)
So what’s the point?
Players in 2014: We don’t like these fortnightly updates, give us an expansion!
Players in 2015: We don’t want to wait for the expansion, give us fortnightly updates!
I don’t care if Joe Bloke knows I have a legendary. I know that I have a legendary and that is all that matters.
But I forget this game is about waving your kitten in other people’s faces all the time.
TWO WHOLE HOURS!
I know the feeling but understand where you’re coming from.
I made the big decision to reroll my thief a few weeks ago, she was 2 yrs old with full map completion and weaponsmithing 500. Human to Norn.
I’m very glad I did it now, I’ve relevelled the crafting and did all map completion, as a challenge I wanted to see how long it took, 44hrs game time.
All you really miss out on is Birthday Boosters.
Good Luck in deciding!
Just a question. Why would you not buy an extra character slot and make another thief?
That way you still have the original character in addition to the new one.
That’s what I’ve always done.
Work an hour of overtime.
Buy gems.
Convert to gold.
Overuse is ruining your mouse. Don’t blame this on Guild Wars 2.
What are you talking about? They are all really close to the tp. It takes like an extra 5 seconds to run.
I am a Leatherworker and an Armorsmith and it takes 10-11 seconds (with a 25% speed buff, no less) to get to the nearest Black Lion NPC, and then it takes another 10-11 seconds to run back to my crafting station(s). It may not sound like much time to you, but over time that 20-22 seconds adds up that could be better spent crafting at a more efficient pace.
THAT is what I am talking about, and yes, it is annoying having to walk all that way in case I forgot and/or need a specific material when I am not in the mood to farm it.
P.S. From the Master Chef, it takes exactly 4 1/2 seconds to get to the nearest Black Lion NPC. From the Master Tailor, it takes a little less than or equal to 5 1/2 seconds to get to the nearest Black Lion NPC.
To me, that is a big difference vs. the other crafting stations in LA.
There is no excuse why a Black Lion NPC cannot be placed on that grass-covered rock in the middle (where the bonfire is located) where all the other crafting stations are.
Are you SERIOUSLY suggesting that the BLTC NPCs be moved because it takes you 10-15 WHOLE SECONDS longer than a different crafting profession?
Boggles the kittening mind.
So you can see when the bosses hit 75, 50, and 25%.
Dunno why this isn’t a thing already…
I think it’s fascinating that there are evidently people who aren’t neurologically wired to spot “half” and “half of a half” by eyeballing it. That kind of visual approximation would seem like sort of a critical life skill to me.
So how many of these division do we really need/want? Some flags also flip at 90% and 33%…
Not all of us can tell the difference between 50% and 51% like you.
There’s probably no footprints because if you had a legendary main-hand as well it would use the footprints for that.
And you think the effect of it is mundane? When that thing is wielded it turns into a giant pulsing forcefield on your arm… Hardly mundane.
All of the other offhand only (torch, warhorn, focus) legendaries have footfalls.
How long would it take though to get like 30 Points in HoM, fastest way, for someone who never touched the game before
It will take you months, maybe a year.
When we’re talking about a game where you can set dust storms on fire, blind bats and bleed earth elementals, or where you can fall from 3 stories + height and live, I think it becomes clear that realism was not the goal here as far as game mechanics were concerned.
Bats have amazing vision.
rev class isint that good, not sure if u guys noticed but the class had 0 mobility skills. sure its cool and stuff but if u cant escape from a fight its not that useful unless its super ttanky or has kiting abilities like an engi.
Where did you see a list of all the skills?
The disparity between how much time I spent getting that stuff, and the things I have to show for it in GW2 is just a little depressing.
I forgot that GW1 was only made so you could get items for GW2.
How did people figure these things out to put them on the internet?
You mean like that place we already have that has 3 factions and 4(5) maps for you to PvP?
I think that taking off these restrictions for players who have played for over 1 year would solve the problem. Either that, or keep it as an achievement chest reward. Might sound silly, but it fixes 2 issues at once. (Messaging problems, achievement chest rewards)
Removing spam restrictions just because someone has played the game for a year is TERRIBLE IDEA.
All hit boxes are the same size.
Otherwise everyone in PvP would be required to be an asura or they would be at an immediate disadvantage.
You might not get picked out of a crowd in WvW as easily with a small character but it won’t help you solo since anyone can just hold ctrl to see your red name bright as day.
Just take a break, the game will be here when you get back.
So they fix the problem with the blaster, but still leave what I believe is the majority of players with a useless non stacking with older up to level 20 scrolls.
How is it useless? Create a new character.. instant level 20. Brilliant. Non-stacking? oh no, another slot taken. Delete it if you want.
I’d think something like the ability to finish Personal Story would be a higher priority.
If you have after 2 years of playing Guild Wars characters under lvl 20 then you are doing something WRONG!
btw I have ~ 13 scrolls (but I got 1st b-day present multiple times with some of my chars)
You heard it hear first ladies and gentlemen! Creating a new character after 2 years is WRONG!
A player with the A-net tag, is just a normal player and doesn’t have any dev powers, the in-game devs are invisible or take form of inanimate objects
Don’t think so. A dev posted today in another thread exactly what employees look like in game when reping the company.
All A.Net employees can use the tag/icon. But not all employees have GM powers.
You’ll notice the A.Net employee isn’t named GM Der_py.
This is going places.
to the OP , a paid Expac would also have 2 new races n 2 new professions and GVG/HOH so yeah ill take an expac any day
You’ll probably get fired from ANet for leaking this information.
Well that’s just like, your opinion, man.
You should be able to get them WITHOUT being FORCED to play a style you don’t want.
PvP—just crap to me, but if you like it, enjoy and have fun.
You can get them without doing content you choose not to do.
By BUYING THEM.
The most recently applied condition is removed first. Adding an extra stack of bleeding or vulnerability moves it to the top of the list, so bleeding could be the first condition inflicted yet still the first to be removed.
I can see why they made the change. They don’t want players to be able to have the effects of a bloodlust/corruption etc sigil if they aren’t using a weapon which has that sigil.
It was effectively giving players an extra sigil on their weapons because players would just build 25 stacks then switch for a different weapon.
Here, on this forums, the vast majority of players consider GW1 superior in all aspects, not just few, to GW2. I’d love to see where your opinion comes from, though, as your view is rather striking to me.
It is not about nostalgia since I stopped playing the game long time ago knowing it was time to leave it, just like I left WoW after many years of playing.
It’s more about being objective, and by that there is no possible way to even have an opinion of the above, i.e. that quality-wise GW2 is better. It is just not right to say so. Why? Look at the random dialogues from GW1 story and GW2 living story – the latter feels as if it were made for 10-year-old children to please the masses, while GW1 was meant to be a niche game, which ironically, still sells better than GW2.
Furthermore, double class system, the variety in between builds, classes, variety and looks of skins and weapons – all that, even in spite of time, still looks and feels better in GW1.
The best way to illustrate this is to just start the GW1 and look at the ranger mechanic of the bow. There, in GW1, an arrow is taken from the back of the character and placed on the bowstring, while in GW2 you don’t see an arrow being placed on the bowstring – you can see it fired only. It is truly astonishing to see such a thing in a game that is so much older than GW2.
Overall, GW1 was better thought a game, undoubtedly. Although you may have some personal views regarding GW2 being better in some aspects, overall, as a game, it is hardly so to evidence it, I think.
To sum up, not being too much of a pessimist, I am aware that all this “dumbed down” content and idea of GW2 was to please the masses and get as many people into the game as possible, but unfortunately, for those remembering the times of advanced mechanics and complexity of some of the older MMOs like Lineage 1/2, EverQuest or even WoW ( which is now dumbed down, too, after recent game reworks demanded by “masses of players” ). Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s made for stupid people or children, I’m just saying we’re not going to see games as ambitious as they once were, all due to the idea of pleasing the masses and getting as much income as possible.
GW1 doesn’t have bow strings.
Flipping on the TP actually takes money out of the economy. 15% every single time something is sold.
who is Kormir again?
The kitten that body blocked you the whole way through the realm of torment before stealing all the credit.
Agreed. Was commanding a lane and kept getting suppressed, was extremely annoying.
Maybe disable chat suppression for commanders?
This makes the commander tag a 100G license to be an obnoxious spammer.
