Yeah, this area is for Polymock. I really really hope we get it soon.
Even though I didn’t play GW1, I saw how Polymock works and I really wish this will be in GW2 in the future!
Just like you have different movies, you have different games. If I want to be engaged in a game, I play a single player story driven game, like The Walking Dead. If I want to play a fun game, I might play a game like Portal 2 or Botanicula. But when I just want to relax, I play Guild Wars 2. It sounds to me like you just need a break.
I agree with your point! I guess OP just needs a break from all these!
To OP: I think the game is fun, and it’s because it has almost everything in an RPG that makes it fun (for me, anyways) and that includes choices, voice, combat, exploration, tasks, quests, story and etc.
I’d also like to add that Anet did a hell of a good job in making this game! (again, in my own opinion although there are some that share it with me)
Guild Wars 2 taught me determination and not giving up (Instances on where this is shown is during the Fall of Claw Island, Tybalt and the last PS with Trahearne).
GW2 can also teach players to work together and instances on where this occurs are the WvW and Dungeons. While it may not seem as if WvW promotes teamwork to some…. it does, and it’s because everyone there worked together with the commander (If that’s not teamwork, I don’t know what is!) As for the dungeons….well, teamwork is required here or the team is pretty much as good as dead!
I don’t want to play as centaurs… First of all, and as a human, they look hideous! Secondly, it just doesn’t feel right playing them. It’s just like you said (Pointing at OP), they have/will have design problems/issues.
Shhh, don’t…. It could be where all the Game Masters of ArenaNet comes from! (If there were any, to being with but correct me if I am wrong)
They need to reduce the area on where the targets will be so it will be easier for guilds (especially the small ones with less than 20 members) to find and kill. Killing is easy, it’s finding that’s hard as hell.
Tell me about it. The feeling of getting pushed back, over and over a gain is like slapping a kid, over and over again. It’s painful and getting back at it is sweet as hell! (Revenge is a dish best served cold!)
One boss, but AFAIK they are in no way easier than “standard” bounties. Depending which one you get it can be easy(ish) and frakking hard, but still doable.
Great! Thanks for your input. And btw, what is AFAIK?
I thought this thread would have died by now.
The game is doing financially well.
The game (content and balance) is doing well in comparison to other popular MMORPGs that were under a year old at their respective times. The community is in utter ruins as trolls and whining babies have risen from the waters of Orr and have taken over Lion’s Arch.
I knew the thread wouldn’t die a quick death because the naysayers were bound to come into it to try to argue their point. I just wanted a thread from the other side of the coin, since most of the threads about the games health have been negative (because people assume their opinions are going to kittenoed by most people).
I agree! I have yet to see a thread that mostly talks positively about the game’s health. There are a few threads in the Game Discussion branch that relates to that but not as widespread as this one.
Just how hard are the targets in the Guild Bounty Hunting Training Missions? they only give 3000 karma as a reward so I guess they aren’t hard but i am not sure! So anyways, how hard are they?
Yes it does, on so many aspects (Like what the posters above mine said).
I agree, the characters presented in Flame and Frost are great! and the story is interesting so far!
Arah’s shut down? nope, it’s still open in Borlis Pass!
Cowrex.9564 and Dyntheos.5719 feel free to add me in-game if you wanna chat about it rq, as that can be easier to back-and-forth than on forums.
If you want to go for 30/50 HoM points (all the tangible rewards) then here’s a few tips to get you going.
1: don’t aim for 50/50 HoM or God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals titles, time investment will be too high, you won’t do it
2: use http://hom.guildwars2.com/en/ to track your progress and set goals on what you’ll do to reach 30
3: pick a character and focus on playing it, try not to make alts – you only need alts for 50/50.a] your first goal should be (as grandmafunk suggested) playing in Nightfall to get the heroes, it’s the most rewarding of all the campaigns, gives you heroes and free bonus skills (with hero skill points)
b] find some skill builds for heroes that will work anywhere, i have a few i can give you or you can look up something like pvxwiki – the sooner you get those builds on your heroes the easier+faster it will be, invest in your heroes as fast as you can as early as you can – cheap max-stat weapons, good skills
c] as early as you can pick up the storybook (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Storybook) related to the campaign you are playing through. the bonuses they give for content you’ll be playing through anyway shouldn’t be overlooked!
d] apart from collecting heroes and giving them weapons/skills focus on completing each campaign (all missions, including optionals you can skip) on Normal WITH bonuses for a few easy titles toward HoM and significant map/town exposure.Like I said feel free to add me, i’m in aussie timezone though.

PS: i have a stack of stuff in GW1 that i would sell for GW2 gold – minis/money/weapons/etc. we’d both have to agree on an exchange rate and naturally there’s no way of affirming either of us don’t get scammed. up to you, i’m willing to risk since i won’t use the stuff any more anyway.
PPS: Dyntheos.5719 just re-read your post. If you only want a few points you shouldn’t buy all campaigns. You have to have Eye of the North to access HoM, you have to have one other campaign as well as Eye of the North, I suggest Nightfall. Will do boss! I’ll let you know as soon as I get it! It’s a good tihng that the GW Trilogy is only 29.99 bucks!
These are good ideas, but I would suggest against them. Play GW1 like it was played during its glory days. Find a guild (there are still players left), do some cooperative missions, have fun making your own build.
Don’t rely on heroes and PvX builds to get you through the game. Enjoy the game as it was originally intended. That was when it was glorious.
If you want titles and things, go for it, but really I would just play the game for the fun of playing the game, because without any rewards or titles, the game is good enough to play.
Are you really suggesting him to have Alesia carry him through the game?
To OP: do yourself a favour and get a good gwpvx monk build on your heroes. Will spare you a lot of headdesks.
I haven’t seen how monks play yet or even know about them although I’ll research about them and keep that in mind! Thanks!
Oh yea, and I have a few friends in GW2 who are willing to play Gw1 with me

It’s NOTHING like GW2.. so don’t expect it to be…
Of course I’m not expecting it to be like GW2. It’s a very different game!
If I had first started with GW2, I would probably hate GW1. The interface, gameplay, etc. is so different. However, playing GW1 for six years first is the only reason I’d be able to try it again.
If you are going to play just for lore, then focus on that – the story. It’s great. But the gameplay is really different and is, in my opinion, better in GW2. Don’t go in with high expectations. Pretend you’re watching a black and white movie… it’s not as pretty, and it might be difficult to watch, but focus on the story instead and you may enjoy it.
Actually, even though I started with GW2, the gameplay of GW1 is pretty good (honestly) Reason why is because I view GW1 as another game different from GW2.
Borlis Pass is packed with players and activity so it’s far from dying.
Don’t get this the wrong way. Gw2 is really awesome and I love it but I always wanted to try out GW1 (Never played it and because of that, I am missing on a lot of lore and other things). So anyways, any thoughts in Gw1 to give me more insight on it?
This has been their style since GW1.
I like their style It keeps things new and hot!
Seriously, I can’t take it anymore! The Super Adventure Box is just too much fun! Made me laugh (A lot!) to play a game inside a game! This is a very cool update ArenaNet, thanks for the laugh and fun! Pfft haha!
P.S. A lot of bunnies were hurt in the making of this post.
Its great fun! I have been gone for awhile, and logged on last night for the first time in awhile, due to “technical difficulties” and was met with the midi music, and started laughing, then it went to more enjoyment from there. I missed you GW2, and this event has made me laugh a lot too, and that is what a game is for…..fun!
Exactly!
Anyways, I really love the stunt Anet pulled! When I hear the 8-bit song in the main menu, I thought my Sound Card was broken only to find out it was actually the GW2 theme song in an 8-bit style
P.S. I’m not sure if it’s 8-bit or 16-bit…
I know what you mean.
I was actually a kid/young teen in the 80s, with the first nintendo NES etc
This brings back a lot of old, wonderful feelings.
Amazing, genius job here Arenanet.
Us oldies who lived that era thank you for such a creative, heartfelt and fun april fools box of super adventure.
I may not have lived during the 80s or 90s but when I was 5 years old( Around 2000), I played a lot of games during the 80s and 90s era. Instead of playing the PS1, I just bought Sega consoles and also some old PC games.
Anyways, I agree with you, I guess this doesn’t seem just like an April Fool’s joke to ArenaNet, maybe they want to show us something even more beneath the pixels That’s what I think anyways.
Just relax and enjoy it. It won’t be here by next month anyways.
Best commercial ever!!

What kind of game is this? It’s an MMORPG.
Just wanted to check this post again for new updates and guys, let me tell you, I wasn’t dissapointed at all with the third update. In fact, I really liked it
Both. I spend a lot of time in the forums and in the game.
I love in the Borlis Pass server (america) and all the starting areas are jammed. Map chat is either filled with people looking for events/groups/guilds or just random things.
This thread is the epitome of awesomeness.
i was wondering what happened… I thought my sound card broke or something. It’s pretty awesome for Anet to do this! Keep up the good work guys!
Well, you could always take a break from playing GW2 (It’s not going to kill you when you do Unlike other MMOs) and play other games or do other things. By the time you feel like it, you can go back and play GW2.
Anyways, I don’t get any lag or performance issues whenever I play WvW. It could be a driver issue.
Guild Wars 2 isn’t revolutionary, it’s evolutionary since it did improve on the systems that mainstream MMOs use (Like the traditional questing, party, guild, dungeon and etc. systems). I played plenty of MMOs and they all had similar systems (With an exception to a few) and so far, GW2 is an MMO that just stands out than the rest of them (In my opinion)!
I know I am! I play the game at least for 1 to 9 hours a day It’s a really great game
Just going to throw my two copper into this and say that I’m glad Anet brought back the cut-scenes as well, it adds that little something extra as compared to the close up dialogue scenes we had for personal story.
Two copper =D I lol’d on that remark
My favorite update so far is the Flame and Frost: The Razing. Why? The cutscenes are great (Although needs improvement) and they actually fixed culling! Yipee!
Attention to all the GW2 players (Especially those who were playing since the beta), what are your thoughts on Guild Wars 2 so far? Is the game good? Is it average? Is it disappointing? Is it evolutionary? Anything will do just as long as you input what you think.
I can’t wait for it to be released.
Ohhh I see. That answers my other thought in the mind (And thanks) but I was referring to the ranks in the new WvW progression, the one with WxP.
Question. How many ranks are there in the new WvW progression? Are there 20? 80? More than 100? More than 1000? And so on…
Glad that people like these. We’ll do more in the future, perhaps.
WOOHOOO! Can’t wait for future updates (Especially the final part of the F & F series)
Even though I did not play GW1, I still checked out the cutscenes and wow, it was amazing. It’s a good ArenaNet brought it back to GW2
I agree! This has got to be the best update Anet has released! Ever!
Plus his face totally reminds me of someone!
As soon as I saw the screenshot (not the artwork) I thought of Sylvester Stallone in Rocky. Based on facial features, not haircut. It’s just one screenshot though and the angle might distort it a bit.
THERE! Braham totally reminds me of Sylvester!! Awesome
One word:
MAGIC
As for the patch notes, aren’t they always released after each update?
- Yes. I was wondering if there had been some sneak peek of upcoming changes that I missed.
Ohh I see. Well, I haven’t seen any sneak peek so far so we’ll probably just have to wait for a day or two .
Guys guys…Cowrex is the best name ever.
Combination of a cow and a t-rex
Well, there is one mod that anet did allow. The mod gives the users full control of the mouse in terms of camera (Similar to Kingdoms of Amalur or TERA)
