I wish they’d add patch notes for the upcoming Flame and Frost update. That way, we will know what to expect (Such as features and other changes in the game’s mechanics)
Well, there are plenty of things to do in GW2, and some of them are not entirely in the game’s mechanics like roleplaying. But if you’re not a fan of roleplay, you can always go with SPvP, Jumping Puzzles, WvWvW, Exploration, Questing (Doing the dynamic quests) and a lot more!
In short, there’s plenty of stuff to do in GW2.
Haha, I’ve just been thinking that it would be funny if ArenaNet would give us fake legendaries on April fools day. Would be an awesome prank that is sure to bring a lot of hate Painful but totally worth it
TC is my home server; take a stroll around Divinity’s Reach and gawk at the amount of RP going on from every corner.
Aside from the teeth-grinding people using would in every emote instead of just doing it, it’s quite inspiring.
Ooh, can’t wait to log in and guest at that server! I would love to join the RP thing going on around!
I find my characters’ deaths funny. I don’t know why but every time I see them die, I just imagine that they just shrug it off like it was nothing.
May not seem funny to others but it’s kind of funny to me
Or give us a skin that lets us become the Commandos!!!
My god…I should guest to this server as soon as my net speed goes back to normal (Dling a lot of stuff and it’s not what you think). Who knew that there would be an Rp server in GW2 (Regardless of being official).
Or bring them to GW2 jail using the commandos and stuff.
They might give us a strip tease or something…
Anyways, I hope they’ll show the list of features tomorrow. It would be awesome if there will be improvements on the current game other than the removal of culling,
Or it could be magic! Tyria is a very magical place after all but that’s just what I think in a very optimistic view.
Going to the realistic one, the bones and blood could have been taken by the player already (The loot) thus the blood and bones dissapeared!
Ohhh man I hope ArenaNet is looking at this and they will add this in the future!
Reason why is because it adds the immersion plus having your own housing just improves the aesthetics of the game.
I like being the humans mainly because they are very relatable (We are humans after all) and also because the voice actors playing them are just awesome!
And in second place to my favorite race are the Sylvari mainly because one facial structure has this kitten smile and they have a mysterious aura around them.
Reminds me of Spiderman…I don’t know how or why….but it does!
Of course! I’d love to have an underwater map in GW2 in terms of PvE. Although placing it in PvP would mean hell (It’s pretty hard to kill players underwater imo)
I can log on after work and within 10 minutes be in a siege in WvW, or be in a hotjoin sPvP match. I can, with difficulty, be in a dungeon group or fractals group. I can easily be making incremental progress on any number of PvE goals, or be halfway done with my daily (if I care).
Other MMOs I’ve played take hours of prep time before you can even start to play. My other MMO is EVE Online. It’s a great game, but it takes loads of logistics just to be able to get started. You have to have the proper ships in station beforehand, you have to have already skilled into the proper ships and weapons that your guild (ok, “corp”) uses, you have to know what time the fleet will form up and be there on time so you can wait 30 minutes for everyone who’s late. I enjoy both MMOs, but EVE is my “when I have loads of spare time” MMO. GW2 is my “when I have an hour before bed” MMO. I find EVE to be a more typical MMO experience in terms of time-investment. GW2 is far easier on time investment and therefore MUCH more casual-friendly.
One of the best things GW2 offers to players. This MMO has got to be the easiest to pick and play without any waiting at all. ANY waiting.(Emphasis on the any).
You have my admiration, if your ever looking to group with someone, look me up in “Yak’s Bend” server
Same goes to me, but in Borlis Pass.
Anyways, going off-topic for a bit…. Yak’s Bend, one of the best enemies of Borlis Pass in WvW Just saying
This thread is just great. Dear OP, you are one great….no….LEGENDARY gamer! You are one who never gave up and continued to find ways to enjoy the game. Just by reading your thread, I can tell you kept looking for ways to play the game.
Anyways, I’d like to say it once more….Kodesh, I admire your passion for gaming. And also thank you for giving hope to others similar to you
It makes me cry seeing fellow gamers achieve the improbable (Not impossible btw)
We are on Seafearers Rest! And have invited 3 guilds already! Its not this friday but the firday after! More dreamers Please
I’ll be there! What’s the exact date (I’m kinda confused on the “Friday after” thing)
I’ll bring some of my friends to attend and I’ll be on my formal attire Oh yea, the time too and when the place is settled, TELL US!
Agreed! It would make it easier to keep track of the karma the account has currently! And also to make it easier to buy stuff without having to get more karma.!
+1 for OP’s post!
I really love the game as it is
It would be awesome if ArenaNet is selling the Commando Skin set for characters with guns (Rifles will be replaced by an M16 or a sniper rifle) I would spend money for that
Nice! More the reason people should be buying gems
You do know that the name Guild Wars came from the event in the lore of Guild Wars?
The grove man! Tell me where the marriage will take place and I’ll be there for you!
Rp Mode: Congratulations! Hope you guys have a happy life
As stated in the other thread on the same topic:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/No-GW2-Expansions-or-Sequels-Anytime-Soon/first
This isn’t actual news, it is something we have mentioned multiple times before. As the original interview says, and I quote:
“Expansions are definitely something that we’ll potentially look at in the future,” he explained. “We don’t have a timetable on it. We’re open to it, but I think our major focus as a studio is making the living world concept as strong as possibly can for the players that we’ve got.”No one said we will never do an expansion, all Colin says (again) is that we are currently focusing on Living Story and other ongoing to the live game.
You can see that the IGN title was a bit misleading, Colin wanted to focus the interview on what they are currently doing, not talk about an expansion yet.
That should clear it up with a few people in the forums but I highly doubt it will all be cleared up soon. I believe that is only when another interview that will provide clarification will the player base/people of GW2 actually be cleared up with this topic.
Anyways, I admire what Anet is doing. Instead of focusing on releasing a big expansion, they are currently working on the base game/vanilla.
There was a huge thread about this and Anet explained themselves.
Simply put, as they always said, first they finish the vanilla game and then build expansions.
It doesn’t meant they aren’t planning expansions, pretty sure Cantha and Elona can wait until the vanilla game is finished – but for now all the focus is on free content (which could also mean more lands).I believe it’s best to have a quality product than a bloated game with a ton of empty lands.
Pretty much how WoW (Just for reference) did it when Vanilla was still there.
Don’t worry, the expansion will come soon, just not now. Besides, there are the monthly updates you get. New features and other stuffs
Don’t worry guys, GW2 will probably have them in the future.
Charity. There is this charity in Borlis Pass wherein you have to pay the “poor” players there
For me, grinding is an instance wherein I am tasked to do the same kitten thing every time just to get the thing I wants. Good thing Guild Wars 2 gives me so many options to get what I want.
Awesome. It’s amazing how GW2 delivers a huge kitten MMO complete to fill the needs of players without ever changing into a subscription model.
Agreed! Love the art style of GW2, especially the beautiful music
Name: Cowrex (Real name-unknown)
Approximate Age: 22
Affiliation: Krytan and Canthan Bloodline
Race: Human
Cowrex is an Elementalist whose aim is to save the world from danger and help the ones in need. He is a very serious guy when it comes to matters of saving a life, hard choices and the like although he gets perverted on light situations…………and the girls hate him for that. One thing to take note of Cowrex is that “Cowrex” is not his real name, and he just got that from reading books of the durmand priory.
Cowrex is basically a short guy with only linings that make him look like he has abs when he really has none. He may be small but he’s actually quick, fast and deadly with magic.
HISTORY:
Youth
Cowrex had a very beautiful and wealthy (Yes, he is a rich person) life with his Canthan mother and Krytan Father and he only had 2 siblings named Jared and Bethany. His life was really going well until the night bandits came into his home in Queensdale and killed his 2 siblings, his mother and father. His mother’s dying words were: “Be good, don’t change and always remember, we’ll be there for you”. Cowrex was traumatized by this event and decided to hide his real name for unknown purposes. Afterwards, he left for Divinity’s Reach and stayed there for his entire youth.
Early Life
By the time Cowrex grew older and became and adult, he left Divinity’s Reach to help the village called Shaemoor from the centaurs (The beginning of his story in GW2). The only motivation he had in doing so was to save families from being broken just like how his’ did.
Current Status
Cowrex is currently the commander of the armed forces of the Pact and the current guild master of the [BB] guild. His current job involves artificing and tailoring. He currently lives at his home estate in Divinity’s Reach. In that estate, lives a few people who are held dear by Cowrex(Such as his maids, butler and guards).
Affiliations
Commander of the Armed Forces of the Pact
Guild Master of a Guild
Guilds and Groups
Cowrex is currently the guild master of the [BB] guild and it is unknown as to what the guild is for.
Family and Friends
Cowrex made plenty of friends during his journey from being an orphaned beggar to a rich teenager, to a commander. In his journey, he made plenty of friends, drank with them, fought with them, laughed with them and also, lost them. Each time he lost a friend in the bloody war of the Elder Dragons, he swore that he would avenge them.
PERSONALITY:
Temperament
Cowrex is a very serious and dark person when it comes to situations involving life, death, destruction, peace, family, friends, vengeance and the like. In addition, Cowrex has a very vengeful side. While he may seem as a dark and cold person, he actually has a bright, optimistic, and cheerful personality that kept him going in his journey. Also, he isn’t shy, but instead, he is extremely perverted and the women kept hitting him.
Quirks
Cowrex is unique in a way that he is extremely perverted but he becomes serious when it comes to serious situations. Also, Cowrex doesn’t really let friends go easily, as he would do anything to save them, even if it means his life.
Stories and Art Involving This Character
No one knows as to where he got his name “Cowrex” from. They only think that the name is circus-ish and not very intimidating but Cowrex really knows what it means. Also, no one knows what his full name is, even his last name as he buried the rest of his family’s memories with him (Everyone forgot his real name, even the last, since it’s been about 13-15 years since his family’s death) and there is a 0% he will show his real name anytime soon.
Other
Well, my character would love to roleplay with just about anyone. It would be awesome
I agree with Shoot, it’s a darned curse that makes you look like a coward…which then kitten es off some people, and then the one casting fear dies.
Hehe, I really like crafting and your 5th scenario really caught my interest. It would be really nice indeed if ArenaNet were to introduce fresh disciplines probably covering other things. (Hopefully the ability to make furniture for housing)
Also, the 4th scenario is pretty cool to implement in-game, it gives more variety and spice in the crafting feature of the game.
Your other scenarios got me too but I prefer the 4th and 5th so anyways, I hope Anet will implement this in the future.
Nice ideas mate
+1 on suggestion
UNDERWEAR!UNDERWEAR!!!
Anyways, it would be awesome if they let us change it’s colors too
1. Any missions with Countess Anise! I can’t pick anyone specifically as they are all great! There is one line I love when we were using Logan as bait to lure a bandit leader out. she said something like, “Oh, our dear Logan playing the role of a hapless victim! This I have got to see!” The woman oozes mesmer from every fiber of her being! I actually wish I had the option to join the Shining Blade just so I could work for her!
2. Tybalt Leftpaw! I swear, every time he mentioned apples, I laughed. I eventually had a mission where he was disguised as Caudecus’ daughter but wasn’t given a different voice. That cracked me up from beginning to end! What I really love about him is that he’s char but he’s not a warmongering atheist like the rest. It’s so refreshing to know that they can be drastically different.
3. I love the skritt in general. I know a lot people think they are overgrown rats but I find a lot of things about them interesting. For one, they become exponentially smarter as they work together. I had a mission where 12 of them were with me and their leader suddenly was as articulate as an asuran. I also have a theory that if enough of them decided to, they could easily take down dragon champions or even dragons! They even know they get smarter in groups but choose to do so rarely. That tells me they prefer to live simplistic lives.
There was also one I ran from in a low level area and he immediately teased, “You ran from skirtt!” I couldn’t control my giggle as I turned around set his kitten on fire.
4. Logan and Rylock in the CoF and CoE story modes. This was written almost perfectly. The way they stopped fighting was a bit ham-fisted. It would have made more sense of the player asked Rylock what he would have done if he had to decide between his warband and Destiny’s Edge and that finally opened his eyes to Logan’s side of the story. Nevertheless, the makeup and bromance afterwards was highly entertaining! Sometimes I play the CoF story again just for the story! I would do CoE too but if it wasn’t for knowing Felicia Day voiced Zojja, I’d absolutely hate the character.
5. Seiran is such an awesome character that, if I ever write a Guild Wars 2 fanfic, she’ll definitely be in it.
Sierran ftw!!
Agree with Jemmi, the game is working pretty well and the launch was the smoothest compared too other MMOs.
Also, the game just keeps on adding new things (Which I don’t mind at all) which is still new and not yet molded into excellence.
Anyways, what I am pointing out is taht the game isn’t in BETA because for one thing, you don’t get those survey forms AND the game is working perfectly well.
OP, it took me 200 hours to get my first character to just get 50% elite gear(By elite, I am talking about the high end gear) and I did that by just playing the game. Really. I just played the game since launch and I only found out that I can get really good gear using the karma from the dailies I’ve done.
In short, it doesn’t feel very grind-y compared to other the MMOs I’ve played (SW:TOR and WoW)
Wait third part? What was the second part am i missing something?
All i remember is sign posts and tasty children’s drawings. Though I haven’t played since Jan.
It’s the fighting thing with the dredge on le Shiverpeak mountains. Te second part is the part where we fight back
I don’t mind at all! I can wait for an expansion for years Just as long as they improve on the game right now though
Only one reason I chose to stay in my server and it’s because I love that server, Can’t really quite explain it but by the time I chose that server, I knew it would be great. While the OP doesn’t want to include the friends and guilds in the reason, I’d just say that I’ve been on the same server ever since.
That’s it
Let’s go Borlis pass!
Rest in pieces rabbits….
Agreed with OP! This game is clearly amazing and has done right in so many aspects! While there are a few shortcomings, this game is great and it will be even greater in the future!
Also, the endgame is the entire game itself. Not sure if this will get into the minds of players but it’s true. I mean, I find the game very enjoyable.
That’s just so awesome! All those signatures will be worth a fortune in the future!
Plus the box design is epic
I don’t really mind the game as it is right now In fact, I love it! Just as the way I love GW2 since I saw it in its BETA phases.
IF I were to explain why, it would probably require paragraphs but long story short, it’s just fun. period
Dang, that’s really creepy. Going off-topic, even though it’s just a game, it’s really creeping me out!
Anyways, going back to le topic, I think those faces could be just old statues from the races generations before the current time of GW2
Furthermore, those being attacked are rangers and individualistic norn – they’re not fighters, on the whole.
Hey! I think you mean ranchers. I mean I know us rangers have a reputation but . . .
Hehe…it’s like a pie to the face but in a nicer way
I kind of like how ArenaNet connects to it’s playerbase through various things especially in the community meet and greet. Some may hate me for this but this just shows that they do care for the players just as they do from before.
Anyways, what did they talk about in the Community Meet and Greet? Any special info?
