Best thread I’ve seen so far. I agree OP. This is how I’ve felt after a month or two of playing GW2. I miss the old huge exploration without all the waypoints and all that. I hope the expansion packs of GW2 can fix this.

That’s what ANet wanted, probably. Why all of the dragons should be killed by just staying there and spamming one skill? Lore-wise, gameplay-wise, mechanically-wise it’s a stupid concept.
Now, even from a RP standpoint, ‘champions of Tyria’ unite to destroy a dragon champion, who became stronger because of a currently unknown source (next Living Stories should explain that).
Two days ago I just logged in to my home server Desolation, when some of my [VILE] guildies said that they’re in Teq main and are willing to kill it. I’ve joined them, people were telling over chat to group up, take their positions and we managed to kill him with 4 minutes left. I don’t know if there was Teamspeak channel where everyone was, because when I tried to find it, I couldn’t. So it makes me question about people saying that: ‘Teq is useless now; I could at least kill him before the update; he’s a dust town; he demands tons of organisation to be killed’ etc. When I feel like I just want to participate, I go to Sparkfly Fen if someone announces he’s about to land, fight him, get my reward and feel epic for fighting him. Nothing bad here.
My opinion is that this fight is just right. He’s not meant to be killed 24/7, but if those ‘champions of Tyria’ wants to, why not then. From gameplay, RP, whatever else standpoint, I don’t see that it’s wrong. Also one may join high population servers and fight Tequatl as well.

I’m very fine with not having the trinity. It makes GW2 more flexible that way.

The train does allow the players to socialize. Heck, I made 2 or 3 friends in the train by going with them. To detail if fully, I joined the train and I started talking to the members of the train and by doing so, I made new friends. So what I am trying to say is, the train isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s very enjoyable and it provides plenty of interaction to new and old players alike.

I was looking forward to A-Net releasing new land areas to explore, with more quests in the style of the personal story. I was looking forward to continuing to battle the elder dragons as a champion of the Pact.

So far, every content patch has been a big disappointment for me.

We haven’t even gotten any new skills!

She could the the deus ex machina of GW2’s story and continuity. I hope in the future she’ll fill the gaps of what happened between the updates and as to how it did.

I do wish Anet will release more LS updates that are centered to the game’s lore and main story since they did say they will release an expansion’s worth of content. Story is part of that content (I’m referring to the main story, not side stories)

I am starting to dislike it unless ArenaNet will add a more lore-centric LS update or PS arc :S

I can’t agree more with you OP. Scarlet really IS the best villain I’ve seen so far in GW2. I was amazed at her story I have a feeling she’ll be the one to bring the world down to it’s knees.

Plus I kinda liked how she is tied to the Flame and Frost arc

Scarlet doesn’t really have that unique or good of a story thus far. Mind you, I’m speaking without having done the new dungeon path yet.

Guild Wars 2 villain’s don’t even come close to the epicness of the villains in Guild Wars 1. Scarlet and all other villains are nothing compared to the Lich, Shiro, Varesh or (I don’t like this quite as much as the 3 I mentioned before this one) the Great Destroyer.

Or Menzies (even though we never meet him).
Or Dhuum.
Or Lazarus.
Or Reiko.

Well I read about her in one short story. It may not be enough for some but at least she’s different from all the other villains in GW2. Also, I haven’t played GW1 yet so I don’t know much about their bosses although I have heard the The Great Destroyer is really kitten.

expansion=new maps,more heart quest,more dynamic events,more npcs,new tier of armors added,more time gated crafting,more vistas and poi.

If Anet does an expansion like they did with GW, it’ll be a whole new area(Elona most likely) and a stand-alone game that can be linked to GW2 like Factions and Nightfall were to Prophecies. There is still probably 35-50% of the current map that can be used for LS and maybe even just free content like we got with Southsun.

Lol I wish Cantha and Elona will be released soon either through an expansion or LS updates.

I think by the time the next LS update comes out.
