I checked Guildhead and it showed over 300 personal story quests. This could probably be from the different choices, races and character biography.
Anyways, moving on to my question, how many Personal Story quests are there in a single playthrough?
I love Nolan’s voice on the human male characters. Make them sound like the epic, calm and caring type
Not to mention it sounds funny at times (In a good way)
Nice one Nolan!
It’s a good thing that you enjoy the game in a really normal paced manner like how it should be!
Awesome post, OP!
i got abyss&celestial and other good stuff from them
I wish I could get the Abyss dye!
Don’t worry. One of the devs (I think it was Robert) said they were improving drop rates next patch, so you’ll get a bit more greens.
Thank god! I was getting tired of the blue drops! Can’t wait to see the improvement on the next patch!
It could be there for design reasons but there might be more to it than what the eye sees
Hope this gets cleared up soon!
The game has its own universe, and might even have slightly different laws of physics than us. And there is always the use of magic.. Asuran golems work on magic, the helicopters might also make use of magic to keep from falling… I know Charr aren’t really magic users, but it must be considered as well.
That’s a lore-ish way of putting it! And I agree, it could be magic that keeps it afloat
Borlis Pass here,
Ive brought in two new players, and have got another 2-3 to return with me.
WvWvW is pretty full lately, and the world seems very strong.
The main reason your seeing a decline is because GW2 launched with a TONNE of servers and has yet to merge any. Most games by now have merged a few servers together. Population has finally started to balance across the servers plus theres guesting so many people may home on one server but play a lot on another.
Last night in BP in the 1-15 area for the norn there was a huge event and at least 30+ players were around at it, fighting away merrily.
So the game is not dead, its just a lot more spread out nowadays because there are afterall 5 major cities (and you dont need to be in one to use the trading hubs/craft), huge areas to explore and tonnes of different content places to visit. Plus, the dungeon areas are often packed.
Then theres also the fact theres multiple instances.
Oh, and as an aside, i HATE the trinity.
Despite the fact i play a healer, always, i still hate it and guild wars was very refreshing. Love guardian.
Same here! I brought four of my friends to the game! And I agree, Borlis Pass is a busy server
People everywhere especially in LA.
-Cowrex of Borlis Pass
You can go pick Borlis Pass. Good server with lots of nice people, not to mention, active ones. Also, the population is high here!
And don’t worry, there aren’t many “drama” or “jockeys” in this server
I still have fun playing with my level 80 and going back into the lower leveled zones. Why?
1. I just feel like a kitten doing so (May sound weird but it is one of the reasons why I always go back to old zones
2. The zones are beautiful to look at, which is why I want to go back to them (Gives a nostalgic feeling)
3. Randomness in everything. Something could happen in specific areas, so I always go check the old areas out.
Mother of god! Level 31 in the TUTORIAL?! How did you do it?
We already have WvW for that.
Also, making Tyria an open PvP world will be hard to accomplish considering that the areas are designed mainly for PvE, not PvP
Lol, I read the topic wrong.
Going to the main topic at hand, I’ve seen the difference between the Kryta of GW1 and 2, and I have to say I personally prefer the one in 2 (1 is nice, and had a nostalgic feeling to it, despite me not being able to play it) mainly because of the vibrant colors and the sheer massiveness of the area. Also, the woodlands of Kryta feel just right on where it is (From a GW2 player’s standpoint, anyways).
Also, Zhaitan’s awakening could have morphed the world of Tyria like the rising of Orr, and the destruction of LA, which might have caused a few changes around the world of Tyria.
I do not know if this is a repost or not but here goes…
Anyone excited for the new update at Feb 26? Mad? Dissapointed? Happy? Joyful? Etc,etc, etc.
I don’t think I would delete one! For one thing, I spent alot of time on my level 80 Elementalist and kitten I got him so many exotic and rare stuff, so deleting him would be a waste. Additionally, I grew attached to him!
If there was a universal dungeon token, then of all 25 explorable dungeon paths, only the easiest 1-5 would ever get run and all the others would get neglected.
Exactly why there are different coins!
Well, I already showed alot of videos about GW2 to my friends and they bought them because of it. One video is the Manifesto Trailer, another is the Get Ready trailer, another is the Teaser Trailer and finally, a few gameplay videos from different uploaders.
Works like a charm, but it depends on how convincing you are
One word: Diversity.
Maybe it’s a design thing, wherein the diverse coins are there to bring players to repeat the dungeons over and over (There are different paths in Explorable mode, so it isn’t very boring) and to keep the dungeon alive. I mean, making a universal dungeon could mean players will just focus on one and forget the rest.
Really sorry for your loss OP. But don’t lose hope, you can always make a new guild if you won’t get your leadership title back. I know that it’s hard and off-putting to do the work all over again. So I can just say this:
I was once in a guild full of people, we worked our kitten off till we got level 4 in almost every upgrade but everybody left. I rebuilt the guild again and left. So I almost gave up in making the guild. I almost lost hope. But, I remembered that I have good friends in the game, so I made a new guild called the Billy Boys. I invited a few of my friends and it started out small. We’ve had problems in recruiting but we worked our kitten off again for 3 months till we got our level 3 upgrades. And during the course of those months, I’ve made new friends and met plenty of people, I gained their loyalty through hard work. Despite having shortcomings such as guild members leaving, it doesn’t matter. I still have my friends in the guild. One of my friends is my brother (Thanks so much bro).
Anyways, what I am trying to say is, no matter what happens, just keep doing things until you get what you are aiming for.
Also, I wanted to have a huge kitten guild, but instead, I got a small guild. Although that small guild has alot of my friends in it.
:D Anyways, have fun OP, and hope for the best and remember, if all else fails, make a new one. Hard at first but worth it!
Going to miss Gamespy, the website which I check out daily for news about PC games (Especially the GW2 articles)…
R.I.P Gamespy 1999-2013
Manly tears are coming…
Sniff
anyways, what do you guys think about Gamespy shutting down?
Ooh, while I haven’t played GW1 (And I only started to notice it once I heard and got interested in GW2), I would love to have artificial company with me when I am going to dungeons and all that. It keeps the world of Tyria even more alive than it already is!
Hopefully, the kinks and the bugs (Which people mention) of the Hero system might be fixed up!
Guild Wars 2 is just utterly beautiful! (Like I said in my other posts). The artwork in this game is phenomenal (Really!) and the environments match the game style!
Also, the character models looks great! (Especially the women models
Huehuehue)
Overall, the game is great and I took over 250 screenshots so far!
Borlis Pass is very busy. Believe it or not but everyday there’s always something to do. Also, there are alot of players in starting areas, different locations, racial cities, WvW, SPvP, dungeons and LA.
In short, Borlis Pass is still kicking!

Awesome! While the Harlem shake thing is overused, I find it awesome when it’s done in an awesome game!
Awesome work! Post it once the artwork is finished
I’ll go download it if it’s done
It looks like he’s saying “I’m NOT dead
”
Love that pose
It looks like he is striking the “finger” though (Which makes it awesome!)
I know I sure have. xD

Weird and awesome in a funny way!
Divinity’s Reach is utterly amazing! I love how ArenaNet took their time in making this big kitten city!
Ooh, probably you’ll get your own big kitten website about GW2 Comics when you keep doing this and improving on your art style
That’s so cute
Now if only Anet would turn that into a guild logo, it would be awesome
I want to get the light armored Dredge set. I forgot which dungeon do you get it from though.
sorrows embrace
There! Thanks
I want to get the light armored Dredge set. I forgot which dungeon do you get it from though.
Just a suggestion, why don’t we apply Gamification in the forums? I think it’s an awesome idea, that way, people are encouraged to post more and be more open or honest.
Anyways, for those who do not know what gamification is, it is the use of game-thinking and game mechanics in a non-game context in order to engage users and solve problems. Gamification techniques leverage people’s natural desires for competition, achievement, status, self-expression, altruism, and closure. A core strategy for gamifying is to provide rewards for players for accomplishing desired tasks. Types of rewards include points, achievement badges or levels, the filling of a progress bar, and providing the user with virtual currency.
In short, placing the gamification mechanic will make the forums a fun place to be in albeit being a serious one!
That’s just my suggestion though, so anyways, what do you guys think? Like it? Love it? Hate it? Yay? Boo?
It would be awesome to actually have the Tengu as a playable race
It gives more depth in the game.
Although getting a new race would mean plenty of voice work, animations, personal stories, NPC interaction and the like.
They are “worthy” I just got 3 or 4 boxes and you will get lots of rares in it (Good for salvaging ectos or equipping) but I haven’t gotten an exotic yet.
As far as I know, the exotics only have a small chance of showing in the box.
Welcome back to the game mate! Glad to see things turned out well for you
I hope so. The personal story is just awesome (In my own opinion).
Probably in a few months or so
Borlis Pass has so many people in it. In fact, LA is crowded with players. Other areas around the world are packed with players but it’s the starting areas that are jammed with players. So in short, Borlis Pass server is alive and kicking!
OP, i think your opinions doesnt make sense;
gw2 is bland: “but make roads to tell me where to go”
gw2 combat is staying there pressing the same buttons over and over; “but im not good enough to solo events in the game, i get destroyed” (btw, all non group events a so easily soloable if you play good)i think the problem is that youre a bad gamer.
or very very young, 12-13y old maybe.the game give you a LOT of opportunities.
but it doesnt take your hand that much (but it still does in some ways).
so, be smart, and start to think.if it isnt the type of thinking for you, too bad!
you can go play pvp, theres no vistas and no need for roads.
but i just think youll get destroyed and come back crying here.
That is an awesome way of putting! You have my +1, sir!
Anyways, seriously speaking, Directed at OP, he’s (By he, I was referring to Avatar) right. You should not always expect your hand being carried everywhere you go (Although your hand does get carried in some parts of the game but it’s minimal).
Anyways, what I am trying to say is, the opportunities are already there, in the game! You just need to find them, and if you can’t find them, make them. Examples of making them is creating a small event in town (I know I did!)
I already have 1 level 80 character (Human Elementalist). I have to say, it took me about 125 hours to get to level 80 (Yes, I take my time playing and not rushing like hell), and in those 125 hours, I enjoyed literally everything about the game. Although saying everything is an understatement. That’s because I haven’t done everything yet. In fact, I only finish 42 % of the map
And I still have lots of unexplored territories and regions to cover. I still have dungeons to finish, gear to make, and all the like.
While it may sound grind-y and very repetitive.. it’s not, it’s because there is always something new in this game. Each day, I can always expect something outrageous, funny, epic or just awesome!
In short, the game’s end game (Which is the entire game) is pure awesome!
P.S. The story is actually very good (In my opinion), I like the characters(Yes, even Trahearne, he only seems boring because of his scholarly attitude), the way it was presented, the music, and the choices!
Does arenanet pay you people to write such lavish things? This is a bit unrealistic
Seriously? How the hell does Anet even pay me? Besides, that’s in my opinion anyways, no need to get all kitten about it. It may sound unrealistic but the reason why I can expect something happen each day is because of my friends there, they always do something.
And yes, I have spent more than 100 hours in the game and I only reached 42% of map completion, believe it or not.
Also, I find Trahearne interesting, despite other people thinking that he’s boring. Like I said, the reason why he’s boring is because of his scholarly attitude.
Anyways, what I want to tell you is that this game is just great. It may have a few issues with it but I learned how to curb my expectations from it. In other words, you can say I am just optimistic about the game.
One of the problems you have to deal with in the forums is that some people tend to consider you to be wrong if your opinion is not in line with theirs.
With that being said, I agree with you that the game is great and I am not yet bored of it.
Great! I’ll keep that in mind the next time I post a reply or topic
Thanks!

Someone else who disagrees with WP.
http://whyigame.wordpress.com/2013/02/17/gw2-traditional-quests-hell-no/
Though WP is quality.
I agree with this reply!
While WP has some good points, I don’t really see how GW2 is hollow compared to other MMOs (Which I- in my opinion-think are hollow)
Yep, you read the title right, chairs! Now what about it?
Well, I am just suggesting to add chairs where can sit on in the game. While this doesn’t do a great deal of impact to some, it just adds minor details to the game which make it even more awesome!
Imagine sitting down while talking with friends or while drinking! That would be a blast (In my opinion, anyways
)
So anyways, what do you guys think?
OP, this has got to be the longest post I have ever read in the suggestions page! Really awesome work! Nice!
Anyways, I agree with your post 100 %, I would love to see all these features implemented in game!
It would make the game even more fun than it already is
Cheers!

Have you considered the fact that Anet is not one homogenized group of “game designers” all doing the same job? Or even all capable of doing all the different jobs involved in making this game.
Like most companies it’s made up of a lot of people with their own skills and specialisations. Pulling the artists and writers and marketing guys who are making the new content off of that and telling them to fix bugs wouldn’t achieve anything. They probably have no more idea of how to do it than most of us do. (I say most of us because I’m sure if I said “any of us” at least one person would tell me they’re a computer programmer.)
Do you think your job would get done faster if everyone else in the company was told to stop doing their jobs and come help you? Or would it waste a lot of your time trying to walk them through things they have no clue on when you could be getting on and actually getting something done?
On top of which as other people have said they need to do both. If they were 100% focused on fixing bugs and were refusing to add anything new until the game was 100% bug free this forum would be full of people complaining that it’s ridiculous that the game has been out for almost 6 months and they haven’t added anything.
Edit: Also like other people have said I’ve noticed a lot of bug fixes since launch. For example the Battle for Beetletun chain and the Swamp chain were both frozen on Desolation at launch. Recently I went back to Queensdale and not only found both working but even found people who had no idea they’d ever been broken.
At launch I also noticed a lot of small camera and text bugs which have been fixed and I don’t think they bothered to include them in the patch notes. (Before anyone asked I think they fix minor bugs like these and not some of the bigger ones because these are easy to fix, it probably took a programmer less than a minute.)
Well, just to point out one statement of yours wherein Anet should get the game 100% bug-free, it’s really hard to do that, and that’s a fact. In fact, huge games like Elder Scrolls, World of Warcraft and hell ,even any other game would have bugs, little or small.

I’ll visit your server soon
It’s amazing to know that there are plenty of players who make use of the game’s tools
Props to the Knights and Anet!
We should buy more of those for the rare or exotic gear
