I can’t say pets should be removed, just the Auto/Tab targeting shouldn’t be targeting the pet ‘first’.
Sorry, I can not agree with pet target spam as being part of the game. You guys should be lucky to even have pets.
If I want to kill a pet, I should manually target it, not auto.
WvW player pets are beyond annoying when targeting players. When in large battles I can hardly select players using my key-bind “Select Nearest Target”. I don’t mind turning to kill a pet in the group of players, but when this is all I select first out of the mass amount of players, it gets annoying quickly. I tab target again, only to have selected another pet.
Mesmer’s should be an exception to this rule, of course, as it is simply their build.
This game needs an option that players can select saying “Do not target enemy pet’s” — badly! I have spoken to several players, in /T in WvW, on my server and everyone is in agreement. A few said No, but the majority would like this option within the game.
Another feature I would like to see hapkitten Enemy Mobs within WvW zone need another name plate color. Red is a bad color in a WvW area with Mobs . At least make them Purple, or something to easily separate the distinction between an Enemy and a Mob. (it’s bad enough having tons of player pets, players and mob names all showing up as Red)
Here’s your answer:
Now, enjoy beating them. That’s what I do on them and it OWNS them.
Core™ i5 + GW2 = Not so good.
i5’s are nice, but when you run this game on an i7 there’s a huge difference. i5’s are basically good CPUs but meant more for a budget system. (a lot of people think they’re super-high end CPUs because they came out ‘after’ the i7’s, which is untrue.
If your motherboard and wallet support it, switch over to an i7.
ArenaNET says the game is no longer CPU bound, but that is not entirely true — it still relies heavily on the CPU, just not as much. Video cards do in fact get to work more now that the game has been released, but a nice CPU will make this game run a LOT smoother.
I think you should never generalize i5. An i5 3570/3570k would be able to run gw2 on high settings just pair it with a decent gpu card.
Understood, but giving up some L2/L3 cache for a gaming system is something I would never do.
You are overclocking that I2500k for one thing(Which they specifically say NOT to do). I get great FPS from a very similar setup.
I2500k
570 GTX
16 gigs DDR3And I am ALWAYS above 60 FPS.
Something is wrong with your system.
The reason they said that was because the game ‘was’ CPU bound. It no longer is ‘pure’ CPU bound (still is in many cases). When you overclock on something that’s hitting the CPU hard it has a greater chance of crashing because the overclock was unstable and higher loads.
Most games do NOT put on massive loads (I’m taking 50%+ CPU usage on ALL cores) and there for the users overclock will not get fully tested. When GW2 was CPU bound it put a higher load on the cores, thus hitting more usage and pushing the CPU to lock up.
Bad overclocks hurt frame rates and system crashes
Good overclocks increase frame rates and run stable
G.I. Joe — the more you know
You just went out and spent $1,000 on a video card and told us you put it on an I5-2500K? What is wrong with you?!
It’s a wonder why horrible companies like Alienware are making millions off consumers!

I sort of have the issue, but I have found that when your mouse pointer hovers an NPC or player, it either will not allow you to Pan, or go off an select the person.
Overall, GW2 is great and I think it’s doing well with a great launch, but some of these bugs really need to get addressed.
I can’t tell you HOW easy it is to RightClick+Pan and select a mob because the mouse pointer in the game is WAY OVER to sensitive to clicks. I constantly select other players/NPCs all the time I never meant to click.
I have put a ticket in for this, and as a hard-PVPer this is simply annoying.
When you hold down Right or Left mouse button(s) and try to zoom In/Out, the Zoom features does not work.
Please fixey!
I’m really getting sick of this, a lot. Boss just feared me and walked me off the ledge because the fear lasted long enough — so I fall to my death. Ok, fine, whatever ArenaNET.
Then the entire zone is in combat so there are ZERO way-points to teleport back to the area I died. SERIOUSLY?!
It’s bad enough being a Theif that you shadow step into terrain ALL the time, but then Bosses fear you off ledges and falling to you’re death is quickly reminded — you’re no longer allowed to go back and enjoy the spot you were in.
I’m sorry, but I’m just really, really sick of this type of garbage in the game. . . . don’t even get me started on the Nvidia driver exploit both Nvidia and ArenaNET keep ignoring!
I was finishing up more of my story last night, that is until I came across the “Horny Shamans” lol.
ArenaNet cracks up me up, but I love them!
Basically GW2 has some performance issues, along with latency issues at times. So our 3sec stealth is really 0sec, and here’s how:
Once Stealth is up, you’ve already lagged 1.5 sec
When it’s done, you’ve lagged another 1.5 sec
there for, stealth in PVP in this game, is pretty worthless until they make it either instant cast, or add more time to it later.
