Another thread on S/P players, and yet so little replies.
Mention Daggers, and it fills up with replies.
Sad ArenaNet
There has been a hidden change to this ability in PVE as well.
When you stealth while fighting a boss or mob it will continue to toss AoE down on you after you stealthed, period. This has been happening now since two patches ago, and was never documented within the patch notes.
I Shadow Refuged, walked on the other side of the room, the boss threw his missiles at me long after the stealth went down and I moved.
in PVE I use stealth to gain HoT, nothing more. So when I saw that the first time, I thought “Meh, lag maybe”. No, it happens every time now within PVE.
and he gives me infractions on the forums, and this is posted on the forums?
Proof that employee has personal issues towards me.
Tired of the no caller IDs showing up and getting hung up by the guy, threatening emails for him, and he allows these posts and doesn’t delete them or infract the forum poster?
but he infracts me???
ArenaNet, you have some serious issues at your company with a certain employee.
All these nerfs make me think they want thiefs just to be punching bags.
Thiefs innately have low hp, low defence, limited heals so we rely on skill to survive. Since we cant take a hit we are forced to not get hit but all these changes seem to counter that design plan. They’re saying thiefs are too nimble so lets force the squishiest melee class to sit there and facetank dmg.
Slowly, but surely, sadly, yes.
But they buffed the HECK out of Necro’s, and no one see’s that.
So ArenaNet decided that Infiltrator’s Return needs a Cast time added to it to stop players from spamming it. Let’s help them out with ideas. (I know there will not be a lot of replies to this thread due to the lack of players that actually play a S/P setup)
They don’t want us, according to what ‘they’ said, rofl-stomping players in sPVP (they never once mentioned PVE survival of S/P playing in PVE, they are basing this all off of sPVP)
Possible Solutions
- Make Infiltrator’s Return cost 4 Int (currently 2) to prevent the spamming
- Add CD to Shadow Return (one that prevents spamming)
ArenaNet has already nerfed Infiltrator’s Strike with the following
- Shadow Return distance reduced from Infinite (based on 15sec before it disappears) to 1200 range
- Removed CC breaking from Shadow Return
When the the reduction was added to the Shadow Return the difficulty of the ability went up tremendously, making that skill a very difficult one to use— it also kept the Thief WITHIN range of most classes as some skill ranges were around the 1200 mark, make S/P thieves a bit more easier to deal with. 1200 range still stinks, I know.
What us Sword theives are trying to point out to our creators is the following
- Thieves have one Stability: Dagger Storm (and it is a Elite ability)
- Sword/Pistol Thieves (when played well) do not rely on Stealth
- Because S/P Thieves do not rely on stealth we are out in the open way more, making Infiltrator’s Strike our survival ability to put distance on a Hammer Gaurdian, D/D Elemental, Ranger, Warrior with a GS chasing us down.
- list more if you can think of them below, these are just some of the concerns I have with the upcoming change
I have my difficulties out there with players who actually know how to deal with Infiltrator’s Strike. Players who are not familiar with it will, of course, have more difficulty dealing with it. That alone is an issue within every game and will never be a satisfying fix for everyone. (I actually have said for the past 10 years: Bad players get Good players nerfed — to a degree of course)
I want these class balancing employees to go into their office for the next few weeks and head into the meetings and really think about alternatives to this change. The suggested change from this team is horrible (sorry ArenaNet, infract me for saying that, but seriously, take criticism with a bit of pride, not hatred towards me)
In a previous post by one of these team-members stated “sPVP stomping” and never mentioned the PVE effects this would have on Sword Thieves. This puts us in a serious horrible situation. I don’t know about you, but I tend to have more armor than Heavy’s in PVE and even then Shadow Return helps keep me stay alive when I can clearly (when the screen isn’t full of mass cluttering of spells) see the boss is about to 1-shot me —-— I teleport back.
Do I use Stealth as a S/P Thief? Sure, when I really need it. This is where ArenaNet has not done so well with the class. Instead of building or modifying the class to NOT rely on Stealth, they instead of have handed out stealthing ability like candy on Halloween — it is over used and way over abused. I use stealth as a “really, really need to fix this situation quick!” ability. I do not run around stealthing in and our making it MORE difficult for players to catch me vs. I want to fight them! I’ll stealth when I really need too.
Here’s another issue being ignored:
Thieves can throw on a dagger and Black Powder all day long making it extremely difficult for groups/zergs (sPvP too) to catch them and end the fight. Yet my Infiltrator’s Strike is the issue in their eyes? How long have Thieves been told “Your stealth is overpowered, it should be nerfed!” So when the masses clearly point out the issue, that gets overlooked? I don’t get that.
My using an ability to teleport me back, away from harms way, to survive another moment that costs me Initiative without the use of stealth is the big concern in with this class? That doesn’t clearly add up, at all. Sure the S/D thieves are abusing the Shadow Return, I’m sure I may have at times, too, but no where near some of the other class abuses (Elemental Vapor running into keeps/towers all day in WvW) we witness day in and day out.
So, ArenaNet will never read this thread, that much I can assure you (plus one of the employees there has a huge, huge dislike for me because he knows me in person) but your comments, suggestions and thoughts can be emailed to their company. I have listed, above, some of the ideas to help curve the abusiveness of the ability in a more logical meaningful way. If I am in harms way, I need to get out quickly, not spend time watching a cast bar on my screen — while at the same time costing me Int to use it.
S/P Thieves / S/D Thieves: Please help contribute ideas to this thread. I will gather up your comments and email them to someone at ArenaNet.
My assumption is that shadow return will not be able to break CC with that 1/4 cast time so S/D is effectively dead in PvP.
With this both D/P and S/D will no longer be viable in tPvP so hopefully we can get some buffs to offset this.
The nerf to CC Breaking in Infiltrators Strike Return ability was fine, and I understand that. But to PUT a cast time on it? (I AM A S/P THIEF, TOO!)
I miss Logic
Infiltrator’s Return
The thing I have heard the second most discussion regarding. This is a big change to this skill, but we beleive it is a necessary one. In many cases this is not going to matter. There are only 2 situations where this is a truly impactful change.
1) It stops you from using this skill while stunned, which puts more burden on Sword/Dagger thieves saving their stun breakers. This is the kind of gameplay we want to encourage because it puts more risk in using a rewarding skill like Infiltrator’s Strike.
2) Mostly in PvP, this skill can no longer be used by S/D thieves to teleport stomp someone. This is actually the more impactful moment as it occurs more often, but I think it puts the burden on these players to run a second weapon set that can help them in these situations (OH pistol for instance.)About point 1* most classes have Stability or Invulnerability, which make them inmune to stuns and trows, and beside of this, they have their own stun breakers too. Thieves has non of this features and that is why many of us use Infiltrator´s return, is like our stability, so my question is if you are gonna to remove stability from the other classes to make it a fair enough change to us?
This is a good point I don’t think has been hammered on enough.
Every other class in the game has access to stability besides thief (please don’t mention Daggerstorm as a counterpoint – that is not a way for thief to gain stability, its there so a 90s CD elite isn’t instant CC bait). Some classes have stunbreakers which also grant stability when used. You decided to gives thieves no access to stability – I feel an ability that allows you to teleport but remain stunned seems a fair tradeoff for the inability to gain stability via class skills.
Could not agree more. Clearly this is NOT being handled well within the class balancing group within the company. Everything he made (the OP) does not greatly clarify a GOOD cause of reason when you sit back and see that he is nerfing an ability purely based on sPVP. I guess they don’t think S/P thieves do PVE in their game, that much is clear.
Then the stability behind it all: we’re not allowed to go around with a good stability ability. Then we have a cast time to return? So much logic coming out of that room right now . . .
Don’t worry, they’ll nerf the utility Shadowstep too, eventually. :<
You bet your sweet butt they will. OMG MY REPLY IS GOING TO GET ME AN INFRACTION AGIAN! OH MY!
Are you serious, JonPeters? Have you guys not heard a single logical issue here? sPVP teleport stomp? Are you serious? What about PVE?
WHAT ABOUT S/P THIEVES THAT YOU HAVE IGNORED FOR OVER A YEAR NOW? Then you say this?
- Infiltrator’s Return

Yeah, OH pistols for instance: meaning you never realized how many players actually DO NOT play this setup. Those of us who HAVE been playing this for the past year because S/P actually takes a bit of understanding and skill to pull off a good S/P Thief. But, no, you guys based your nerfing off of S/D, proving me again and again and again that you have simply ignored the cry from S/P thieves ALL this time.
Proof again: S/P is the 1% build in this game. Then you base your nerf off on S/D thieves killing the 1% build even more. Thanks a lot ArenaNet, you proved me right again that you have ignored S/P for over a year now.
Kill us in PVP, then go on and kill us in PVE. You based all of your decision on PVP and S/D thieves. Way to go, you did a wonderful job!
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/Devs-Thinking-In-the-Box/
Read it
But wait! Mesmers and Elementals can get out of stun! Oh wait, Elementals can get up from downed state and run into a Keep/Tower and self heal up! <— Hey this is PVP isn’kitten Real fair isn’kitten. . .
Did you not hear: S/P thieves do NOT rely on stealth. Maybe you didn’t design the class to work that way (obviously because the devs do not understand S/P well enough), but that’s how S/P works. Let me show you how a S/P Thief works NOT A S/D THIEF! Care to join me PVP designers?
S/P: Now you’re supposed to hang around for a massive hit ‘that you can clearly see with your own eyes’ and stand there and take it. Good good job ArenaNet.
Here comes that infraction! Can’t handle the truth!
Seeing the replies in here is more proof of the 1% build – just not that many of us s/p builds. And because there is not enough of us to voice our concern ArenaNet will never hear out voices of concern.
Thanks to the S/D player the S/P players will be gone come Dec. 10. Maybe some day we can find a game where the developers actually care about the players concerns.
Once again you prove you hate S/P Thieves, as I have said now for a year:
“We have also somewhat reduced the effectiveness of high evasion thieves by reducing vigor up time and adding some cast time to the Shadow Return skill on the sword”
You’re asking me to use an ability that cost me Int to now have a cast time? You could have increase the Int cost, but you thought inside the box.
S/P doesn’t rely on Stealth like D/X or X/D thieves do, but you continually ignore what a S/P thief is within your own game.
Again and again, you nerf the 1% Thief setup in the game? Just doesn’t make sense. Just remove Swords from Thieves, you obviously have no idea how one is played – you certainly don’t have the stats on S/P to prove you know the class well enough, either.
1% ArenaNet, 1%
Let’s not forget this is a Survival for a S/P thief in Dungeons. When I see a boss about to slam me to the ground I Shadow Return out if my Dodge is down. Nope, you’re telling me “S/P Thieves are useless in our game. Thanks.”
Now I have a cast time to get out of trouble in your PVE and PVP system…And it cost me Int, too.
. . . Wait, yet Elementals can continue to run into Keeps via Vapor after being downed, get right back up, rinse and repeat.
I have lost hope in this games future
(edited by Crawford.4135)
ANET – I love the thief changes. HOwever, please consider improving ability to create better non stealth builds by thinking through how we can support groups in wvw. thank you.
There’s already a build setup to do that, and I’ve been doing it since the game was released.
Stop relying on a Dagger in your hand
There’s nothing wrong with Guild Wars 2 RNG, I have plenty of Blood Dust and no Fractal Sword skin after 500 Fractal runs.
The obscuring of target models by particle effects in this game are the worst I’ve seen. There’s a megadestroyer in there somewhere, you can sort of see his leg. This is with the option selected to make targets more visible.
I could not agree more, and that photo you posted is a prime example. We’re expected to Dodge when a boss is about to do something, but how can you know when to dodge if you can’t see what he’s doing?
I can’t see through the clutter because the game is too laggy in WvW. Only the players care about WvW performance.
First thing to remember is this:
Intel i5’s are not high-end gaming systems, they are budget CPUs only
If you can afford a little extra (I said little, keep that in mind) money go for an i7 based CPU if you plan on going Intel.
What is the biggest difference between i5’s and i7’s Intel processors:
- L3 Cache
Simpler terms:
“Level 3 or L3 cache is specialized memory that works hand-in-hand with L1 and L2 cache to improve computer performance. L1, L2 and L3 cache are computer processing unit (CPU) caches, verses other types of caches in the system such as hard disk cache. CPU cache caters to the needs of the microprocessor by anticipating data requests so that processing instructions are provided without delay. CPU cache is faster than random access memory (RAM), and is designed to prevent bottlenecks in performance. source: http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-l3-cache.htm”
So – you want more L3 Cache for gaming, a lot more, the most you can afford. i5’s will not give you this, they’re not meant to be high-end systems as they are affordable CPUs for your day-to-day simple games and tasks. No they are not bad CPUs, but they are not high-end CPUs either.
People will argue this until they are blue in the face stating “Well…My system runs great and my games are smooth!” Maybe so, but their defenition of “great” and “smooth” are completely different than mine, or yours — so ignore the naysayer’s and you’ll be fine. L3 Cache is a huge benefit when doing high-end calculations (gaming being one) giving the processor a larger buffer, so to speak, to handle the instructions being pumped in. A typical i5 will have much lower L3 Cache where the i7 will give you more, usually a lot more.
i3/i5 – your standard business PC for day-to-day tasks
i7+ – your high-end gaming / media creation
SolarNova runs an i7 3930, great CPU, it is also a 6-Core CPU which may be overkill but hey, if you have the extra cash do it. (We all know games don’t take full advantage of 6-Cores, that’s not the point of going for a 6-Core CPU). I run the 3920 and it’s a great CPU, it’s just below SolarNova’s CPU. HOWEVER: These are the 2011 Sockets, they are NOT cheap by any means. 2011 Sockets are Extreme-High-End systems. Motherboards for 2011 sockets typically run $100 – $150 more just for the motherboard. The memory for 2011 sockets also cost more because 2011 is a Quad-Channel memory controller on the CPU. Only serious hardcore gamers would go for 2011 socket systems (again, these are not cheap)
If you have the cash, then go for a 2011 setup, otherwise if you’re looking for a budget system you can still build an i7 system that is outstanding. (if you enjoy games: avoid i5 CPUs — and with the cost difference, go for the extra L3 Cache)
If you want any of us to spec out a system, there’s plenty here to help, but you will run into arguments about what you should buy. I’m only going to provide advice of the areas you may want to consider. CPUs, Motherboards, Memory and Video cards are my expertise (I even build $20,000 servers). I know my hardware, and avoid fighting with people that want to argue knowledge rather than providing simple logical assistance
Like SolarNova said: “Give us a realistic budget and we can help”
(edited by Crawford.4135)
I just think that this game would be a lot more enjoyable for a lot more people if each profession was as good as Warriors are in general in all aspects of the game.
Warriors have the most hps, the most armor and do close to the most damage. They have access great passive health regeneration as well.
The have some of the better utilities, and all their utilities have much shorter cooldowns than other comparable classes.
My main is an elementalist but I had enough extra tokens and materials to make full ascended gear for my warrior, so I did, and the game is night and day different. It feels like I’ve been playing half a class this entire time. Within a mere 15 minutes of play, I could tell that the Warrior was more powerful and better suited to every aspect of the game.
I went into WvW yesterday, ran into about 5-8 Warrior 1v1 fights. I still hold to what I have called that class since WvW came into my eyes: Warriors = Forest Gump. “Run Forest, Run!” Greatswords on Warriors, but no box of chocolates. Only 1 got away because he ran to his Zerg.
Thieves are so incredibly important in wvw. Guilds are very, very particular with who they want to play thief because it’s a high risk role which requires a lot of skill and battlefield awareness. It’s a tough class to play in wvw (actual wvw, not roaming) and only 2-3 are needed in a zerg. Good thieves are in high demand.
My guild is jonesing for a couple great thieves. It was my first lvl 80 but I’m honestly jot that great at it so I switched to guard which fits me so much better. The engis in my guildare loved as well as they can bring so many fields and knockdowns into the melee range as well as mess with the periphery. Mesmers are also of great use with boon stripping and now mantra builds. I dodon’t really understand where this guy gets his “only 4 professions needed” deal. Yes its heavy in those 4 but the other professions ha e excellent uses. Just don’t need as many.
That said, I am sad about the lack of viability rangers have in WvW. At least in zergish fights. A good ranger coyld be used as a periphery hunter alongside thieves I suppose. Some guilds are using them for that.
Heh, you’re the first and only guild I have ever known that wants “good thieves” because I have yet to really see any good ones in WvW. I have yet to see ANY thing pull off what I can to a 50-Man zerg in WvW and walk away from it. I tried teaching other thieves the exact same thing telling them “Hey, YOU ARE a huge benefit in a zerg, you are greatly needed, here’s what you do, ok?”
Why? Because I get sick of Thieves saying “Oh, we’re so useless in WvW zergs, we’re pointless”. No, they are pointless because they refuse to see how their class was designed and how to benefit it. “But if I can’t 1shot someone inside a Zerg, we’re useless!” <— More bad Thief talk I see in this game.
ArenaNet, hates, my, guts, with, a, very, huge, hatred, passion. They absolutely despise me. (I’m not kidding, I’m dead serious). But, that’s their problem, not mine – I just find it funny . . .
There is a time for a Dagger, there is a time for a Pistol, there is a time for a Bow and there is a time for a Sword. Thieves haven’t figured that out yet and stick to Dagger/X (or X/Dagger) and a Bow. That’s all you see: a Dagger/Bow Thief that will claim up and down that “it’s the best setup for WvW zergs” till their blue in the face.
“Oh but you should see this thief who only uses a Bow! HE IS GOOD!” Sorry, but no. No, and no.
I gave up trying to help Thieves a while back because they refuse to understand the class and accept they are one of the biggest benefits in a Zerg, more than any other class. So, I will just remain the only, and last come next years releases, thief that knew how to be effective in a zerg.
I have always said that common sense is either born in your, or not at all. It’s like watching American Idol: You can sing, or you can’t sing.
If I had comments like this on a thread I made my stalker ArenaNet friend would have locked the thread and given me an infraction…(sorry, I just find it funny that the moderators in these forums are actual players). There is a lot of hate towards Anet in here. On top of that you’re talking bad about parts of their game and they throw a huge fit over that.
Hey a company I worked for put a lot resource into a project it wasn’t even funny. As a few years went by 3 other programs they had going were dragging behind. So much was focused in one area that these 3 other programs ended up failing miserably. (I’m not making that up, either)
What did you guys think when they focused on content release every two weeks? Other areas of this game are going to suffer, it’s just business practice and that’s how things happen. No one will ever change how a business is run, it’s just how it is.
OP must be talking about Elementals. And that wouldn’t be surprising.
That losers what buy legendary for real money really exists?
More money for Anet. Nothing bad about that
rollseyes
Enough please
“Anet keeps its people on a very tight leash.”
Every game is built with the same intent in making the company money. Sure the employees enjoyed making/creating the game and I am sure they love their work. The end-product is the definition of the ultimate goal: make money.
By curving this, and curving that the company is able to push the game in the direction it needs while placing some fun in it for the players.
I’m not saying ArenaNet hates its own product, they love their product very much. To keep the game going, and to keep the majority happy, certain aspects are driven to keep the players satisfied while at the same time making a buck.
They’re going to bend what needs bending to offer pleasure to those who purchase their product. To keep that product alive the players must adjust to those changes/bendings. A company only cares greatly at the time of market for its fan-base. After this the fan-base becomes “customer-base”. From this point the leash is shortened with a tighter collar and the means to profit.
Do I hate ArenaNet? No
Do I hate GW2? No
I just hate when politics destroy good things.
…I’m sure this is a reference to something else, but I have no idea what you’re talking about. Was there another thread on this somewhere around here that I missed?
He just said “GuildWars2Guru community”. It’s where the players can actually speak their mind without being reprimanded for sneezing, have real discussions and have the sense that someone actually read what you posted.
“there will be more . . .” possible, haven’t heard of that yet. However I don’t think I’ll be into this game by then (2014 releases) if this is their idea of art style. It was ok before, some hit and miss. This time, sadly, it was a big miss.
But those Halloween skins, those are really nice. I’m wondering what the heck happened. I hate when games do the “RP Skin ONLY” garbage in games. It’s pure nonsense to me.
What do people expect with a RANGED based class? Everyone acts like the class is supposed to be fun. It’s Ranged!
Every time I have watched a Ranged class PVP video I paint my entire apartment and watch it dry. It’s honestly more fun. Ranged is Ranged, it’s never going to be “ZOMG!”. Standing back and watching missiles shoot to your enemy will never be exciting.
OK so you know how I see Ranged Classes. Now take a Ranged class and toss it into GW2. Ever watched paint dry with a microscope?
Halloween “TOWN” skins looks far more superior than the Ascended gear skins? TOWN skins? I would buy the Halloween skins if they were not TOWN clothes only.
Did this accidentally get switched around in a meeting, because this seriously blows my mind.
There’s still time, and a very fraction of hope, that a redesign is done on the Ascended armor skins.
(oh, and I’ll get an infraction for ‘talking’ in the Forums, my ArenaNet stalker is back)
You know the joke among players is:
Guild Wars 2 was originally going to be AION 2, until ArenaNet wanted the game to be their game.
Same RNG as AION, but AION now has a better RNG than Guild Wars 2.
Guilds are nothing but drama queens in the making, so I tend to avoid them. I do WvW without a party/guild, I do not see the benefit of being in a guild in this game (guild world wide buffs, ect., etc.).
Solo Wars 2
(that’s how I play it, and I’ll pug anything else I need)
Yes, the new targeting system is horrible. Even worse is they built in a priority system. If a Vet is behind a normal mob it continues to select the vet over, and over, and over. I have to use the other keybind JUST to select the mob I want.
I hate it!
I too agree with this. You sit back and wonder about this games performance issues and here’s one small area that could possible help. Like the Jor Sword, it glows and lights up the areas around me, but no one else can see that because it’s a lighting effect that can hurt performance to others, I guess.
I would like to see this as a option to toggle off, I don’t care to see Legendary footprints – more so in WvW!
I think the new Ascended gear is just horrible. I don’t know what they were thinking when they came up with it. The Ascended weapons are so dull so I expected the gear would be worse. I wasn’t wrong.
You’d think for something you have to actually work hard for would have something creative, but I was wrong there.
Your best bet is to give this game more time if you are thinking about coming back. Currently the only thing going for this game is WvW (and those who enjoy sPVP). Sure they release content every two weeks but I don’t care about living story – it’s boring to me. I’m sure if I sat down and looked it over it wouldn’t be so bad.
Problem with the Living Story is if you come back, you can’t enjoy what already came. Also the server performance in WvW is really, really bad. I don’t know the future of this game, but from what I see it doesn’t look good. Unless this company is able to pull a trick out of their hats and really drill down to fixing issues, I don’t see this game getting better.
GW2 is not a bad game, but the development, bug fixes and updates to the Fractals (and other areas) leaves a lot to be said.
Warriors are the number one played class, which is odd. But that’s ok, because they are the Forest Gump (Run Forest Run!) class of the game.
1v1 = Greatsword and RUN!
I’m ok with the icons, but not the Elemental and Engineer. They are way too similar.
Can we please increase item stacking from 250 to 1000?
Also when reporting a Gold Seller, please set it to Auto-Block in the players /Block?
Thanks
I don’t use Sbows at all (but will switch out to stealth the group with SS)
If you’re dying from Melee’ing then you should probably relook at your gear and trait setup.
I’m 2.9K armor (PVE build/gear) and can take 2hits from a boss while the Heavy’s get downed on 1Hit
Stop using a Dagger in Zergs
Learn to gear for Zergs
Stop using a Sbow in Zergs
Malice is your friend followed up with Dagger Storm on Zergs
Use teleporting abilities to go in and out of Zergs
Stop using Zerker gear for Zergs
Thieves are THE best AoE’er in the game. If you can’t see that then you should probably find another class to play.
They did cross breed. Where do you think Charr came from ?
JPs have no place in a PVP environment. The PVP JPs bring is so far and few compared to the world of WvW.
Take them out.
Remove Jumping Puzzle’s from WvW period!
It’s bad enough waiting on a Queue for 4hrs while people do PVE garbage in WvW in the first place.
Laggy servers? Queue times? Get rid of the flippin’ PVE garbage!
- Commander Icon Colors (should not be choosable, but random)
- Commanders should have specific chat colors (players should be able to filter all other chat out so they can read Commander chant only on a separate tab)
- Commander Icon: More than just a Blue Arrow. It would be nice to have multiple symbols as well.
I don’t know about the rest of you but I am getting really sick of it. These physical servers need serious attention. “It’s not the server” No, it is along with the lacking support.
Or are they even physical servers? Seems like they run on shared VM with minimal requirements.
Why are they ignoring the latency issues within this game?
If you rely that much on BV (sad), then this now forces you to choose “Residual Venom”, the way it was really intended in the first place.
Every time I see a Thief with BV on their buffbarI instantly Immobilize them to put them into panic mode to force them to use it, only to teleport away from them. I may still be stunned for that short moment, but I forced them to burn it.
BV is nice, but it’s SO relied on it isn’t even funny.
When I used it, I used it for:
- Stopping an enemy player from running away
That by far is its best use. Thieves that have, for months, relied on it for “OMG QUICK KILL! HEHEHEHEHE” are finally being told: that’s a horrible way to use the Elite Utility. It’s not meant to give bad thieves a free kill, it’s meant to be utilized wisely.
(edited by Crawford.4135)
As a thief, I can admit that perma stealth with zero hard counters was op’d. those of you who rely on that crutch will have to l2p like the rest of us thieves who took the higher road.
I could not agree more with this statement. I took the high road after picking up a Sword and a Pistol and never looked back. Thought the developers have not really given much to that setup it’s still more fun than a D/D build, that’s for sure. S/P: where a Thief really does have to L2P
Why mesmerism even have stealth is beyond me. Bad judgement on dev part.
Welcome Dagger Thieves to S/P! Now you are being aligned with the infamous 1%Thief Players in the game.
Honest the changes I whole hardedly agree with. I am a Thief and I have seen nothing but abuse on the nerfs they did – Abuse Ability, Devs will eventually come change it. These wont be the last I am sure, but we are not stealth Gods and too many think that’s how we were built. We are escape artists with dps. That’s it.
