To go meta, I think more than difficulty, people want a way to compete and excel.

They want to do content that others can’t do or be recognized for doing it in a manner that others can’t. This is very different than sheer difficulty.

I feel like speed or efficiency bonuses would be a better way to give people what they actually want than just making the encounters inaccessible.

I’ve never really minded talent achieving more. In GW1, speedclears were much more profitable than playing on the down low, yet if you wanted to be an imbagon with KWay because you thought it was fun, nothing was actually standing in your way of completing said content.

In GW2 however it’s becoming a bit of a different story. You can’t really go with sword/shield warrior in PvE, staff mesmer, etc. because by doing so you’re signing away your ability to just complete content, nevermind be profitable.

The core concepts of this game are flaky and pretty rubbish.

Bolded section is ludicrously untrue. Almost all pve content can be easily completed with far off builds, that’s part of the complaint people have.

New stuff certainly can’t. Your lack of reading comprehension is showing.

The mordrem are fairly difficult. That defense of the Camp was a nightmare if you weren’t one of the people who immediately subscribe to maximum damage output for the sake of the game. The boss, on the other hand, wasn’t difficult but it required more strategy.

You’ll note that I said it would be a big deal… not that it’s impossible. What we know of Ascension is that (among humans at least) it requires being Chosen, and that as far as we know only races associated with the gods can be Chosen.

If Caithe could ascend, this implies either that the sylvari have some distant connection with the gods… or that having such a connection is not required to be Chosen and to Ascend. Either has long-reaching lore ramifications, making it kind of a big deal.

(That said, I do think it’s more likely to turn out that the glyphs in question are simply Forgotten in origin, and the link is that both this site and the site of the tests of Ascension were once controlled by the Forgotten.)

Regarding seeing Mursaat pre-Ascension: The game assumes you play the storyline in the normal fashion, which means undergoing the tests of Ascension before you ever see a mursaat. Just like we don’t know for sure what the blessing of the Five Gods granted in Gate of Madness actually did, since it actually is impossible to do the Abaddon’s Gate mission before Gate of Madness.

Eh…I’m not sold on the “Chosen” bit. In contrast to the theory that Chosen have to be human or that a human has to be “Chosen” to Ascend is false. The Chosen are basically just people who are capable of Ascending, vis-à-vis the Flameseeker Prophecies, rather than any correlated communion with the Gods. There’s not nearly enough lore to say it’s empirical and it wouldn’t be a retcon for the writers to look back and add depth to information about Ascension.

With that said, your second paragraph is likely false – there doesn’t need to be a distant connection.

As far as the timeline, I’m aware. I’m just pointing out that the game makes no real distinction in Ascension other than for some mechanical purposes – and the lore behind Ascension is stifled to almost nothing. Most of the things people have been assuming about Ascension in this thread are casually related to the story of GW1, rather than anything about Ascension itself.

You’re completely misinterpreting. Look at what I said again:

as far as we know only races associated with the gods can be Chosen.”

Ascension, previously, has been implied to be something that is only available to those who are favoured by the gods. Implied. It’s entirely possible that this is not the case.

However, if it is not the case, this has big ramifications, as it implies that Ascension is not as tied to the gods as we have previously thought.

If it IS the case, and sylvari can Ascend anyway, it has even bigger ramifications, as it implies some connection between the sylvari and the gods.

I’m not saying that it would be a retcon or anything, just that it’d have deep ramifications.

How does it imply connection with the gods? All it does imply is that any race can Ascend (commune with the old gods), which shouldn’t be that surprising. How can you imply anything from the nil information we’ve been given about Ascension? Two humans trying to Ascend, one succeeding, doesn’t really lend enough information to imply ANYTHING.

Shouldn’t Mordremoth be easier to take down than Zhaitan? Zhaitan had a whole nation of corpses plus many ship crew to use from the beginning, spent 120 years to build its army and expand the territory, consume as much magic as it could. Mordremoth didn’t have such time and resources.

Well, yes…sort of. But this is the first time we’ve experienced a dragon waking up. All of the others woke up before the game started.

Also, he might be stronger than Zhaitan. I think there was some mention (not sure where, though, so it could’ve just been speculation) that when one dragon falls (Zhaitan, for instance) the others get stronger due to the excess magic that they can consume. I imagine though that in the end, many of Mordremoth won’t have as vast an array of armies so much as just jungle creatures. He probably won’t have the calculating army like Zhaitan did.

I would argue Ascension doesn’t exist in GW2.

You’d be right. It doesn’t exist…yet.

The three glyphs on the wall above the shining portal though are the exact same as the three glyphs found at Augury Rock. Then they tease us with a ghost that’s the spitting image of The Ghostly Hero? That isn’t coincidental.

We might need Koing here

Yet I quote from the factions manuscripts book that comes with factions:

“Chang Hai, a prince who followed the path of the hero and became Ascendant before taking the throne.”

There is only one path of the hero and that is the crystal desert with Turai Ossa.

Weh No Su is an alternative because the celestial creatures are, in effect, intermediaries for the gods, in turn, guided by the envoys and oracles of the mists.

The gods then look down upon you and bless you with ascension or Weh No Su.

Originally even Elonians under went the path of the hero as all of Ossan descent do including our very own villainess, Varesh Ossa.

I don’t see why we need Konig here. People have certainly read information about Tyrian lore, he’s not that special.

He became Weh No Su, which is just the Canthan (and mechanical) equivalent of an Ascended. Lore-wise, they are still obscure enough to have differences since nothing is really mentioned about them and their mechanics are only equals for the sake of balance.

Path of the hero means to learn a profession, not the trials of Ascension. He was a Wammo, this doesn’t mean he went to the Crystal Desert and Ascended.

Where is the source of celestials having anything to do with the Gods? There’s not a single mention of it in Factions.

On the contrary, Ascension is correlated with the Old Gods while Weh No Su is correlated with the celestials. While they both have similar functions and mechanics regarding the Mists for the sake of balance in the game, there’s still no indicator of whether or not they are the same for any reason other than the sake of mechanical balance.

It is never said that there is an Elonian tradition to Ascend. Even Varesh Ossa never Ascended by traditional means, she just became a Margonite.

Could you tell us GW1 lore ignorants what this ascension stuff is about?

Ascension is basically communing with The Old Gods. So far it’s only been attributably accomplished by Margonites (who were servants of Abaddon) and our player character in GW1.

Caithe being Ascended – or even being capable of it – would be a really big deal. Ascension is a process connected to the gods, and being Chosen is, as far as we know, a trait that only humans can have. For a sylvari to Ascend would raise a lot of interesting questions.

Why would she not be capable of it? There are only three separate instances of Ascension mentioned in lore: Margonites were all basically servants of Abaddon, and their ascension is likely a direct result of their direct communication with a god. Turai Ossa and his people basically waged war on the Forgotten, split up out of greed and mistrust, etc. and never accomplished it (although they sought it). The only other example is our Guild Wars 1 hero, who would’ve never gone through these steps had it not been for Khilbron and Turai Ossa’s ghost. That’s basically three separate notations of Ascension and only one success after the exodus of the Gods.

We don’t have any information to suggest it wouldn’t be possible for other sentient races, and since the gods were very definitely real (although they aren’t Gods – as we once thought of them), I see no reason why Caithe couldn’t manage. As far as Chosen and such go, this is in a 5 year historical timeframe of knowledge…From 1067 to 1072 and this is limited knowledge within a limited timeframe due to all of this occurring within the White Mantle and Kryta which was inhabited by humans and beasts.

There’s no solid evidence to suggest that it couldn’t happen. Although whether or not it’s true is a stretched theory, I’ll admit.

You forget all Canthan emperors are ascended as well after Chang Hai, the first ascendant emperor of Cantha.

Weh No Su is just conceptually the equivalent of Ascension, no evidence to suggest lore-wise they’re the same. The game drives to make the effects the same, but to that effect of lore-breaking; Elonian characters achieve “Ascension” without actually doing anything, it just comes along at a certain point in their story. Secondly, your character can see Mursaat (who are supposed to be disguising themselves) before you’re Ascended.

I see no reason why the practical in-game equivalence (basically changing your secondary profession and travelling through the Mists -aka UW and FoW) means we have to accept that they have the same functions in lore. It’s an MMO, after all, and they tried very hard to make the game be somewhat balanced even if you only had one or two of the campaigns.

It’s the same functional reason we don’t attribute millions of examples of Ascension just because there were millions of player characters. There’s a line between function and lore and sometimes lore is casually smoothed over to serve specific functions.

Personaly I have another theory: he is Prince Rurik.

I disagree entirely. You don’t take heavy spoilers like the ascension glyphs along with a ghost that looks exactly like Turai Ossa, throw them together and don’t make the ghost be the Ghostly Hero. It just doesn’t work like that. Rather, he’ll probably be our character’s guide to ascension as well.

I do wonder though if Caithe’s not ascended, which might have something to do with the egg. Since this was before DE took the fight to Kralkatorrak and Glint’s not dead, it could possibly mean that Caithe’s an ascendant as well and Glint told her something that can’t be shared with anyone who’s not ascended, including the Pale Tree. It would make sense then why Caithe seems like such an outsider, no place with Faolain and no place with her Mother.

Anyone who thinks macros and botting don’t go hand-in-hand needs to do a little more research before they comment again.

Mind explaining then? Because as I see it, ANet’s definition of a macro is multiple outputs for a single keystroke. That doesn’t sound very much like a bot, since a bot operates on automated keystrokes without human intervention.

Actually it generally does have to be instructional, or at least visible. You’re not going to know the frets or chords just by watching someone play the guitar…unless you’re like absurdly hyper observant.

And how many qualifiers was that just now?

Disingenuous. You’re just selecting terms without context. You won’t get better at a dungeon by just watching someone do the dungeon, unless you’re hyper observant. Watching a video isn’t going to teach you about fire fields or the proper order of skills. Just playing with skilled players in a dungeon isn’t going to teach you about these things…unless they’re instructing you on the subject. Same with PvP, you might learn some basic positioning ideas – but when it comes to the finesse you’ll have your kitten in the dirt because there are varying degrees and you won’t have the finesse of impromptu combat and tactical direction.

It’s really the same with this. You can watch someone play a guitar, but it won’t really change your finesse with the knowledge – likely frets and chords will still be so far above your level of understanding by just watching or listening to someone play that it’s moot.

But, like every situation, qualifiers exist because there are exceptions to the rules. These exceptions are far and few in between though and they certainly don’t make any significant chunk of the game’s population.

If this was true for guitars (and everything) we would not have all the “tutorial” videos you can find on Youtube (and elsewhere) for learning/improving at guitar (and everything else).

I did say listening to someone play, not watching an instructional video on how to play.

It doesn’t even have to be instructional. Stop latching to one single word and clearly missing the point.

Doing (or first doing) is not optimal for every person. Stop trying to speak for everyone now.

Actually it generally does have to be instructional, or at least visible. You’re not going to know the frets or chords just by watching someone play the guitar…unless you’re like absurdly hyper observant.

It’s not that the monsters will complain, it’s the players. Earlier in the game, we saw macros that were rampant with botting. Ranger trains in certain areas farming the monsters like mad.

These were gold-sellers using programs and macros to gain loot to later sell to players willing to pay real cash for this service.

That’s the bigger issue.

What you’re describing is a bot. Macros, at least by my understanding of them, are a lot different and I only see them as being genuinely exploitable in directly competitive gameplay. I fail to see how multiple commands for a single keystroke can benefit a person’s JP abilities. It can effect combat, but even then…there’s no one to complain there except monsters and the people without macros.

Only in competition would such a philosophy be completely shifted because there have to be an initial set of rules to enforce a fair and legitimized outcome.

I may be misremembering the terms of use but I thought it included a clause reserving the right to interpret or change implementation of individual clauses as they see fit without prior notification. Then again ToS are questionable as legal documents anyway.

You may not use any third-party program (such as a “bot”) in order to automate gameplay functions, including playing, chatting, interacting, or gathering gold or items within Guild Wars 2.

Guild Wars 2 Rules of Conduct

Despite our best efforts to detail the different sections with specific examples, there will always be areas that will ultimately be handled on a per incident basis by the Guild Wars 2 Customer Service Team. Even when not specified, NC Interactive, Inc. (“NCsoft”) and ArenaNet, Inc. (“ArenaNet”) have the sole right and final judgment of how to interpret and apply these rules and guidelines to any specific circumstance and situation, including proper punishment or exception.

You missed a section.

I don’t see any problem with macros…anywhere in PvE. Who’s really going to lose? The monsters? Those who are inable to use macros? With adequate reward balancing, I don’t really see any form of “cheating” in any PvE kind of environment because the environment is just composed of a bunch of meaningless pixels. Competitive areas like PvP and WvW, on the other hand, should have absurd restrictions on macro policy because fairness is common denominator.

But ANet policy trumps my viewpoint, so even the monsters have a vote.

Given their explanation for macros, I’d say an autoclicker falls well within the realm of something acceptable.

Incorrect. From multiple threads, Anet’s policy is that the use of auto-clickers is a bannable offense.

I’m aware. The logic is just irredeemably bad – especially when their very definition of acceptable vs. unacceptable tools conflicts with the usage (most of the time). What they call a macro in some instances, such as autoclicking, sounds more like a bot than autoclicking. Of course, autoclickers themselves are fairly vague but I fail to see how 1 keystroke = 1 action is not being upheld when an autoclicker is just clicking multiple items and automatically performing a keystroke without human intervention.

These are not single keystrokes for multiple actions, just automated keystrokes.

Given their explanation for macros, I’d say an autoclicker falls well within the realm of something acceptable. The way that they make it sound anyway, is that macros are only illegal if there is more than one output for input. Most autoclickers I’ve used, anyway, tend to just repatedly activate a certain key without my finger on it – rather than activate several commands on a single keystroke In a state of logic, this basically means:

1 -> A = Legal

1 -> A+B = Illegal

If anything, their macro policy seems to be okay with autoclickers and against instrument macros although, as always, there is room for exceptions to the general rule since some things (like instrument macros) are beautiful and are unnecessarily spoiled when the rules apply.

Incorrectly quoted, or terribly edited by moderation. Either way, in response to the adverb modifier, I fail to see how actually or really hold any difference in connotation. Unless I just didn’t understand the quoted portion, although I’m pretty sure I did.

Only 1% of the players post in the forums, so in the end everything posted here is the opinion of a minority.

stuff like that XD … at this point ill only play PVE if there is a item i really want lol the story does not do much for me anymore

I still think the Living Story is capable of delivering all of the things the OP mentioned. What I do not think, however, is that the current Living Story structure has been released frequently enough or in large enough patches. The way the Living Story is constructed can very easily deliver all of that, as we’ve seen it’s already delivered new maps.

But it’s going to be so kittening far down the line to get new races, skills or classes…that it all seems trivial. We have to wait until it can be released in-line with the story. It would be such a kitten move to just “OH A NEW PROFESSION” all of the sudden with absolutely no lead up to it. Something like Marjory’s change can be seen as an introduction to a new profession. Yet it’s being rolled out so slowly that it will be nearly 2016 before we even have any reasonable conclusion to that theory. What’s the point of waiting 3-4x as long for content because of the Living Story? The common argument is that people will burn through the content faster than they can develop it anyway, but since the term “replayability” is obviously not associated with that argument we can disregard it as complete horse kitten.

Countess Anise - friend or foe?

in Living World

Posted by: Cuddy.6247

Cuddy.6247

I doubt Anise would ever turn out to be a foe. I’m just wondering what her angle is.

Generally, I don’t trust Anise. I’m willing to believe that she puts the Queen’s welfare above everything else, but ever since she pointedly left Logan out of planning the Queen’s protection while planning her jubilee celebration, I’ve wondered if she might be too paranoid to be dependable, at least for everyone who isn’t the Queen. It’s one thing to avoid leaks, but it’s another to keep relevant, proven people (Logan, the captain of the Seraph in Divinity’s Reach) in the dark. She’s good at what she does, sure, but one person can only be so good.

As for her age, I don’t think it’s anything outlandish, if possibly older than she appears. I’ve heard suggestions that she’s Livia from GW1, but I’m skeptical, mostly because the switch from powerful necromancer to powerful mesmer seems very clumsy as a narrative. It seems unlike that she’d be a focused necromancer up for ~180 years, until her last appearance in 1256AE, and then spend the next ~60 years (Jennah’s coronation was in 1316AE) learning mesmer magic and relying on that instead.

Well, Livia could probably, certainly master more than one magic in her 180 years. Not only that, but she also had the Scepter of Orr – the environmental skills attached to weapons in GW2, as we can see with several Personal Story instances, are obviously pretty expansive. We have to remember, too, that the NPCs don’t necessarily follow the same rules as our PCs do – in GW1 some enemies even had up to three professions, and NPCs like Palawa Joko and Mad King Thorn had several elite skills. So perhaps she is just a necromancer with some powerful illusions at her disposal. There’s really no telling, when it’s all said and done, what Livia and/or Anise could be capable of as NPCs.

I’m hesitant to draw any direct Livia -> Anise conclusions as well, though. I’m wondering if maybe Livia is Anise’s mother? Nobody really knows anything about Anise’s past.

Sadly though, the reaction to Canach’s question about her age just seems like a trope to me. I’m just that salty when it comes to the writing, I don’t think there’s anything there other than a jab at the social construct where it’s rude to assume anyone with two X chromosomes is older than they are.

Also, applying an AC skin to the weapon is the easiest way to keep track of the Sigil is active or not. If the weapon glows blue, it’s night time, +10% yay. If it stops glowing, time to switch to the alternate weapon with the Sigil of Force instead.

I would also suggest using a translator. Think of a word you like, throw it through a few translations and see how it looks in other languages. It might give you ideas.

I know there’s even Draconic and Klingon translators out there if you search for them, so I’m sure there’s more than that for odd stuff.

Translators are great. I especially enjoy Google translator…it butchers the translations to a point that by the time you get something that sounds cool…that’s really all it is – something that sounds cool. It’s no longer a translation.

My thoughts: "Play How You Want"

Their argument boils down to “incentives force me to do it.” They make no distinction.

There’s still a slight shift in the mentality and the capacity for play in newer content. If playing the Living Story is really written off as something optional with incentives, we can start just moving the argument back to the very foundation of gaming and removing all accountability to what should and shouldn’t be everyone-friendly content. Why not just make Guild Wars 2 the Dark Souls of MMOs?

The recent changes have had an unbelievable uproar of people who don’t realize the dailies are pretty optional but the blatant disregard to any realism of the subject is far from genuine or precise.

Be more creative with your names? Seriously, I’m able to name most of my characters off of song titles still. Just be a teenie bit creative. I’m not saying that “Legolas The Archer” isn’t creative, but it took no effort on your part to make. Honestly, if you think the Guild Wars 2 naming scheme is a blockade…may you never try WoW. Even with the name lift during Draenor you still have to name your character something god awful like “Asqwepatta” just to have it not be taken.

What would tempt you to make a new character?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Cuddy.6247

Well, I for one don’t really have a problem with making new characters as it stands. However, I have quite a few characters (eight, to be exact – two of which I’ve never actually played but they’re placeholders because I desperately want to play them). I would like to see some more armor sets that inspire me to make a particular character, add variety to weapons and weapon skills or add some new races/professions.

I might also be a bit more excited for making new characters if they make leveling for veterans even easier. Only problem I see with this idea though is how do they implement something that makes it easier to level up and has the potential to discriminate veterans and new players. I love new players, but I remember when I was new and leveling up my first time was a great learning experience that nobody should have the “luxury” of skipping.

Dumb reasons why you can't play a class/race

In contrast to the OP as well, I have some dumb reasons why I play a certain way (rather than not play a class/race). My human guardian uses sword/shield with 2/4/4/2/2 solely for cosmetics, my norn guardian runs 0/0/6/6/2 solely for cosmetics, my mesmer mains staff (even in PvE) for cosmetics…

I let cosmetics basically dictate whether or not I play something. That, and I have fun with a lot of stuff. I’ve got a fulfilling life, really, my guardian build might be trash but anyone who gets their panties in a twist over it is even worse.

I don’t see how they “pretend” to follow the Spirits of the Wild. Generally the hunts they go on are based around a certain kill and it’s about becoming a legend and stuff like that. It’s a bit like college frat parties, especially alemoots, but they’ve got a proud culture built on individualism.

250 years have passed. I mean…do we really need to detail all of the changes that can happen in real life over the span of 250 years? Personally, I think it just really puts the immense time lapse into some real perspective.

I can’t play Charr because of their hunched over look.

If they looked like this I would.

but instead they look like this….

This used to bother me a lot more than it does now. Now it doesn’t bother me because the only charr I have is basically a ripoff of Rytlock with T3 and FDS/warhorn.

I want a sylvari, I’m not sure how I want to make it. Most armors seem kind of improbable/human and the cultural armor is kind of lame.

I don’t have an asura yet because I want to have an asuran elementalist with a scepter/focus and cultural T3 armor and I just don’t like scepter/focus on elementalist.

Those are my dumb reasons why I don’t have an asuran or sylvari yet. Although I’m getting kind of close to making a sylvari – I was browsing the sylvari subsection of the forums to look for inspiration.

Also OP, I think this is a good thread. There are so many dumb reasons why you might dislike a character that make no logical sense and people want to add their commentary. Since most people are, you know, human, there’s bound to be a few dumb/weird reasons why people dislike something. It’s interesting to come in here and see people have strange reasons why don’t/do something just like me. Makes the world more human, instead a bunch of logical robots.

New dailies and XP gain

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Cuddy.6247

Okay so the new dailies are driving me crazy. I cannot shake the fact that I am being forced to play PVP or WvW when I do not want to

I’m unsure of how you’re forced to play PvP or WvW? You have several options in PvE that you can work with, albeit stricter than the previous daily system. If you’re a new player, you don’t have that luxury, but if you have a single level 80 you have 4 choices from each category.

It doesn’t force you anywhere unless you’re a new player, in which case I call it persuaded exploration, and once you’re a veteran and have found a comfort zone it gives you enough to work with to be fine.

If it’s an alt account or something…I don’t really know what to tell you. I guess get more character slots instead of buying another account?

New dailies and XP gain

It’s really good. I’ve gotten like 10 Tomes of Knowledge since the change.

I made this post a few months back:

Honestly the new system isn’t too bad for new player retention.

A simple solution for veterans, though…make Tomes of Knowledge more accessible outside of PvP and make level 20 scrolls usable at any level, why only 1-20? Why not 40-60?

Either leveling process was a chore for veterans, these changes aren’t actually any worse and people who think they are should really seek diagnosis for their problems.

I’m glad that it actually happened. I feel like my characters can actually prep for any future babies to be created and just insta-80 with extreme ease. So much XP gain from the new dailies that you can pass off to other characters, it’s really nice.

To All The Naysayers

I’d have to go with Drarnor on this one. While I applaud your use of sense in this thread, mounts is a horrible example. Mostly because the idea of mounts that people are requesting is absurdly unnecessary because the waypoint system works for fast travelling, mounts provide no combat and they’re extremely junky.

There are a lot of other things – such as minipets, outfits, armors or weapon skins – that players feel should be highly prioritized over a mount system for legitimate reasons. These things can actually improve your aesthetic game while still being used in combat situations. While I would certainly like to see mounts in the future as nothing else other than some broom or carpet that you pull out in town and ride around on like an idiot – it’s so far down the list of sensible requests that it’s not up for discussion (yet).

But really, I do enjoy your sense in disregarding their non-arguments. It’s nice to read that someone reads the sense in the trivialization of such additions and the “arguments” against the additions are as fake as a three dollar bill.

Dear Mr. Stein, cliffhangers do not work

in Living World

Cuddy.6247

Cliffhangers do not work in a MMO, especially not if you try to tie new gameplay to the story.

The problem are not the cliffhangers but the episodic structure.

I disagree strongly with both statements:

  • I like cliffhangers.
  • I like the episodic structure.

it was the trivialization of an important cliffhanger by (what seemed to me to be) a gratuitous digression

I totally agree. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, these cliffhangers aren’t so bad – it’s never resolving them that gets weary. There are so many loose ends at this point I feel a little bit overwhelmed and underwhelmed because I’ve lost track of what might be important information and what might just be filler (which exists in every story, whether people like it or not). I feel like having too many threads in the story doesn’t make it interesting, it makes it a tangled mess that people stop liking.

I don’t think it’s a GoT reference since that expression could be found a lot. It’s a bit like assuming every brains/brawn crime duo is a ripoff of Mr. Croup and Mr. Vandemar when really it’s just a commonly used trope that nobody can actually lay claim to it.

Cliffhangers work. Never getting around to tying up cliffhangers, however, doesn’t. How many cliffhangers do we have now that haven’t been resolved? Way too many.

I’m soo thrilled to see what’s in the cave we’ve found in the last episode… not.
You’re right too, there are many loose ends but this episodic storytelling kills it for me. Cliffhanger or not, being stuck with the same content for two weeks or more, just to move a step forward in the story to then wait again is killing any tension for me.
That’s why I like the Personal Story more: You can choose when you want to progress (If you’re lvl 80 atleast. Yay for the NPE changes!).

If I would replay the whole season 2, I would need one day maximal.
And the story would feel good and epic but it doesn’t because I needed more than half a year to get as far as I would get in one day if the story would’ve been released at once.

THERE’S THE MASTER OF PEACE.

AND RYTLOCK.

AND CAITHE.

AND GLINT’S EGG.

AND MORDREMOTH.

…But have we forgotten about Aerin, the locket, the world leaders? Have we really forgotten all about Scarlet and Omadd’s machine? It still feels like it’s all speculation with no real investigation or answers. And I only imagine Rytlock isn’t forgotten because I think they mention vaguely how they’re down by one member in the recent episode. Still, it just seems like we’ve started a whole lot of kitten and don’t tie anything up.

This game’s plot is starting to feel like what Kingdom Hearts was becoming before 3DS (which KH3 better end on a strong point, because they REALLY threw a grenade in the plot with Chain of Memories and Birth by Sleep).

I know everyone was off their rocker on how much they hated Scarlet/Aerin/ferns as the center of their story…but is that really a reason to just drop it? I don’t think so. I say let them kitten and moan and let’s have some real closure in some of these story arcs.
