(This makes sure D/D/Shortbow do not benefit, since they are BOTH fine and need no changes atm.)


Pistol Mastery:
Grant Might on critical hits with Pistol or Spear-gun.
Pistol and Spear-gun skills cost 1 less initiative.

(This is due to pistol skills being low damage, Pistol skills do not have high burst, however they do have “ok” dps, this will make Pistol skills easier to use and have a higher damage rating, letting us use other skills besides “UNLOAD”.)

Yes, this may make “Pistol Whip” a little hard, but with its low damage and self roots its not that hard to dodge, this is mainly for P/P, D/P, P/D. (Pistol Whip does less damage then the Auto-attack Chain now.)

[This is kind of like what Warriors get, forceful great-sword.]


Critical Haste, change to critical strikes.
Critical Chance with Sword Skills is increased by 15%.
(This makes swords have the higher DPS they deserve to have over Dagger/Dagger.)

[This is kind of like what Guardians get.]

(I’m not sure many use this trait because of how random it is, but feel free to comment below, I need to go.)

(To be honest, this might be a little much towards “Pistol Whip”, so I think the Pistol Mastery may only effect pistol-only traits.)

I just really want pistols to be useful again, and I will do whatever I can to make them fun.

Thieves have poor damage (infact they have on par DPS with necromancer if you want to have DPS comparisons over a minute fight.), they do however have high burst.

Burst can be prevented by doing a lot of things.

If they cannot kill you in that 5 second window, they are dead, they cannot do anything but run away or autoattack you and hope you die.

If you have runes/or submit resources to traits that prevent burst, thieves are MEAT.

Many players ignore this however, and complain instead, because its much easier to fix others then fix themselves.

Venoms and Traps are not viable.

Traps need to pulsate and hit more then one target. – Like Rangers.
Venoms need more traits, due to all the condition removal, traits are almost completely worthless and do not stack with eachother.

You need a “Nice Try.” Trait: When a venom is cured, a second effect is applied that isn’t as good as the first effect, but same duration.

Thief Venoms/Traps are broken/underpowered.

S/D is broken/underpowered.

Thieves also have alot of traits that need updated. (several don’t make sense.)
Thieves need a Bleed on Critical Trait added to their precision tree.

D/D / SB thief is fine, every other weapon selection is worthless.

I would rather the trait be something usable by every thief to max efficiency, the fact that one thief GREATLY benefits while the next thief does not for a common trait most thieves take greatly annoys me.

Alright, you get the 10 seconds you get from healing. (15 second CD.) I use the evade heal, because it just seems alot better then signet of malice.

So thats 10 seconds of Vigor, add 30 points in vitality, or even 20.

Thats 12 seconds.

Add Bountiful Theft, thats 15 when you steal, since you have 20 points in vitality, thats 18 seconds.

18+12 = 30 seconds, 20 pts in trickery will make stealth a 48 second CD.

Therefore, constantly healing/using steal (which I always do.) makes Vigor Permament.

I sacrifice a bit of damage to do this, but its 40 pts.

Endurance Regeneration caps at 100%. (I think.)

ANOTHER trick to get perma swiftness.

You can get Runes of the Centaur, make it where you heal and get swiftness, with boon duration this goes up, and with current dodge to get 2s of swiftness, you can get swiftness up to a full one minute duration by constantly healing yourself and rolling. (which you always do in combat anyways.)

I call it: The Monkey.

You can already get 100% Vigor, even without wasting all those points/food slot, and no, even with 100% Vigor, you can’t chain dodge forever.

Requiring you to chain burn your heal skill and go deep into Trickery is a whole different level of effort than simply continuing to dodge because the vigor is built-in to your dodges.

Requiring you to WASTE a food slot, and going deep into vitality for infinite vigor your way is useless as well.

This is just feedback, but the dagger looks kind of stupid, not many people would buy it and its currently on sale for 2-3g, whilst Scythe is 40g, almost 12 times the price.

The Hand is stupid, get rid of it.

Make the dagger look ceremonial and make it drop blood on the ground.

Because 1 handers have 981 damage, two handers have 1100 damage.

The skill slots are divided between the 1/2/3, 4/5.

The ‘3’ is based off both damage of weapons, divided by 2. (if you play thief.)

the ‘1’ skills damage is based of your main hand.

If you raised one handers damage up to two handers, there ‘1’/‘2’/‘3’ (or 1/2 if you play thief.) (main hand abilities.) would do close to the same damage.

Two-Handed Weapons have a passive 10% extra damage just from being two-handed, giving them 5% (x2) an extra 2 sigils in extra damage.

So, I think they should decrease the damage of two-handed weapons by 10% and add an extra 2 sigils.

You don’t understand, currently the trait is useless to thieves who use SoS, its 8% Movement Speed increase for about 0.8 seconds, because in the 1.2 seconds of the 2 seconds of the swiftness, you are dodging.

If it was 2 seconds of Vigor, the trait would work for all thief builds, not just the current FEW they already have.

Honestly, 2 seconds of vigor overpowered? Engineers can get 100% Vigor Forever.

2 seconds of vigor is nothing, it just restores a little bit of vigor back to the thief, it would make putting 5 points in acrobatics more useful.

Honestly, up the damage of unload by 50%, or change our traits to add Stacks of Bleeding on Criticals and Unload will be good.

5% Critical Chance over 90% Health is a Trash Trait, due to it only being good with backstabs and backstabs having 100% Critical Chance already.

50% Chance on Critical Hit to Bleed would go leaps and bounds to improve unload.

and when revealed it could light back up but look like your dazed but shadowy, ect ect…

2 Seconds of Swiftness on Dodge is almost nothing, since for that “2” seconds, the 1 second we are dodging, so we can’t even control our character for that second.

2 Seconds of Vigor makes much more sense, since we are getting what we spent back in tiny bits.

Remember, its “2” seconds still.

To be honest, since its very little, why not add 2 seconds of Vigor and Swiftness?

Can you change “2” seconds of swiftness to “2” seconds of vigor instead?

Thieves already have 25% Passive Movement Speed Signet, this means the trait only gives the thief 2 seconds of 8% movement speed buff, very low for a 5 point trait. (All thieves use this signet, its almost stupid not too since it adds so much for 1 utility slot.)

If the trait was Vigor instead, it would add some regeneration to our endurance and stack with other Vigor traits and give us more options for more builds.

Honestly there are several broken traits/bugs that effect thief at the moment, but people can only focus on the 1-2 builds they actually have…

Pistol/Pistol thief is completely broken and useless. (Little Damage, a lot of classes can remove whatever goes on them, Blind and do no damage for 6 Initiative… LOL….)

Dagger/Pistol Thief does no damage and is broken and useless.

Pistol/Dagger Thief is completely trollsy and does little damage, only useful in preventing people from capping anything in WvWvW.

Sword/Dagger is useless, its only situational against 1 class, Guardian.

Several Traits are bugged to not apply “boon duration”, a lot of traits are under-powered and don’t make any sense at all, Thieves have some of the lowest “DPS” (not burst damage.) in the game now because they have the lowest pool of time to do damage, it just happens all at once unlike other classes.

Thieves have “ok” traits, but honestly, with the changes to stealth every patch changing duration to be lower and revealed buff to be longer, the class is slowly getting pushed off the edge, just because we were overpowered with a certain build.

When we go into stealth, the borders around our screen should go darker and our abilities should darken a bit.

When we get revealed, the borders should turn a lighter “Oh Crap!” color, this should make it easier for us to tell when we are revealed, without having to look at buffs.
