If thief is so awesome and overpowered, why not play one?
Consider what happens when you nerf thief too much, they have no utility like elementalist and other classes have, no group buffs, they are absolutely worthless in dungeons, they are a roaming mobile scout class.
The second they nerf more things from thief, the balance may be worse and karma usually comes back to rear its ugly head.
Consider what an elementalist can do..
Permament Regeneration for the group…
Permament Swiftness for the group…
High Damage.
Very Mobile/Lots of Escape moves. (can even outrun a thief!)
Permament Mist Rain, which also heals the party.
Heal his own conditions.
AOE Protection.
Consider now what a warrior can do.
Permament Regeneration for the group…
Permament Swiftness for the group…. (Warhorn.)
Fury for the group 50% of the time…. “FOR GREAT JUSTICE!”
Shout Healing/Shout Cure Conditions…
Warhorn Cure Conditions…
Consider what a Guardian can do.
AOE Protections.
Cure 2 conditions every 10 seconds.
AOE group regeneration…
Thief? What can he do?
Run Away.

Its not like armor matters much, without any toughness/vitality ANY class will melt.
I only wanted it to be restricted to two types of armor per class.
A thief in plate armor makes no sense at all, but one in cloth armor does make sense.
A guardian in cloth armor makes sense as well. (see monk.)
A necromancer in plate armor makes sense. (they are tougher to kill then most classes.)
A Warrior in cloth armor makes sense. (see berserker.)
A Ranger in cloth armor makes sense. (see tracker.)
This would not limit the gameplay at all, this is just for appearance, your weapons and such do not change, neither do

This is just for appearance, you can tell which class is what by the sounds the class makes and what the classes do, you can tell this as soon as you enter combat and what kind of weapons they have, what there aura looks like and what animations they do.
I look at the persons WEAPON way before I look at what he looks like, if I see a hammer swinging down at me, nomatter who has it, I usually HAVE to dodge.
Robes would fit a Guardian, especially priestly looking ones, just for appearance of course, you could use a robe then plate armored legs and shoulders and gloves… make yourself look like a combat priest.
Another Example would be cloth for thief, just for appearance of course, wearing something fast and light for D/D (alot of the cloth armor looks really really nice and even ninja like for some of the molds…) would fit the thief like a glove.
This changes nothing except appearance… and really theres no reason you could not tell which class is which, especially if you want to argue about thieves which is probably what most people use in this.
This is why I restricted each class to one appearance set of armor, plate armor for thief just makes no sense at all, but on an engineer/necromancer? they are slow and bulky and TOUGH, so them having the plate option, just for appearance makes sense.
The Dye thing? Many Medium armor does this anyways nomatter what you wear, the workaround is using different colors for armor…
For Example, using Iron Dye on main pieces, and then using “Dark Midnight Blue” On armorish looking pieces makes them both match if its the heavy grey style of armor.

One of the biggest changes this makes is, instead of bullets, you shoot darts at your target, the sound and animations reflect this.
“1” Applys a Small Bleed. (1 second.)
“1”(2chain) Applys 2 Bleeds. (2 seconds.)
“1”(3chain) [Channal] Fire at the target three times, applying 3 bleeds. (3 seconds.)
“1”(stealth) No Change.

“2” Vital Shot needs to be changed to apply a strong poison, but do a little less damage. (6 seconds.)

“3” Unload Afflictions, this applys 4 Stacks of Bleeds (6 seconds on each), and Poison (6 seconds of poison, strong.) (Each fire looks like its shooting, while the left pistol is shooting darts of poison.) does little damage.

“4” Choking Gas: You throw a smoke bomb at your target, blinding and crippling and poisoning them for 4 seconds. (this is a ground target ability.)

“5” Stim Flurry: You fire darts filled with stimulant at your allies, granting regeneration and healing. (10 seconds.) (this is a ground target ability.)
(You basicly unload a barrage of healing darts at whatever your targeting.)
(This ability also makes thief unable to stealth for 10 seconds, and breaks stealth.)
Basicly it turns you into like a combat medic from swg, it turns pistol thief into kind of docter, after all a good thief knows where all the vital spots are.
It makes for a fun build, because it would add an option for thief that it doesn’t have… “support”.

That would be alot of work, but you could get the same effect by having leather chest/plate shoulders/plate gauntlets/plate boots and leather pants. (just an example.)
If I played a necromancer, I would spec for tank and wear something like this….
Cloth Robe..
Plate Shoulders.
Plate Legs.
Plate Gauntlets.
Plate Helmet.
Stack Toughness/Precision/Condition Damage, ect ect…
Would look cool, and look like hes tough, but HE is tough, there is no tank in the game, everyone can tank with enough toughness, and necromancers get alot…

1) Um.. if its that quickly then it wouldn’t matter, you would already be dead if your reflexes are that slow, it wouldn’t matter if it was a thief or engineer….
2) This is comming from someone who does mostly nothing but pvp… but the SOUNDS AND EFFECTS ALONE tell you what the other class is, if you hear the stealth sounds YOU Know its a thief.
3) Sorry, but if they pop out of stealth to attack you, then they are a thief, REGARDLESS of what they wear.

Honestly… Armor means nothing in this game like it does “WoW” and other games, its all about toughness/endurance, and there isn’t a magic number above anyones head saying what toughness or stats or endurance they have.
You can meet a Warrior that can take an entire raid force, then meet one that melts in 3 seconds.
You can meet a Thief that dies instantly, then one that dodges/endures his way around several players.
You can meet a necromancer that melts instantly, then meet another one that can tank 10 people and then go into death shroud and run away…

Allow each character to pick voices, these voices allow the toon to say different things, and have different voice actors saying them in combat, the mood of the voices sets this as well.
This is kind of an idea from everquest…
- Cheerful “We will win for sure!”
- Righteous/Valorous “Remember %T!!” “Save everyone!”
- Vengeance “I’ll Butcher you…just like you’ve butchered my kin!” “Cleave them in two!”

Each Big Achievement (the Achievements on Character Select.) should add a base 5% Bonus Experience (to events as well.) to each of your characters that are 1-79 (Non-80s only).
Each Level 80 Character should add a base 20% Bonus Experience (to events as well.) to each of your characters that are 1-79 (Non-80s only).
Examples:
100% Map Discovery (5% Bonus Experience.)
Join the Vigil (5% Bonus Experience.)
Join the Priory(5% Bonus Experience.)
Join the Order of Whispers (5% Bonus Experience.)
Get a Legendary Weapon (5% Bonus Experience.)
Have a level 80. (20% Bonus Experience.)

ATM, I am kind of stuck, i’m working on my third character and it seems so slow and boring doing the low level content again, perhaps the ability to start at level 20-40-60 (20 levels for each level 80.)… but that would break story, experience bonuses do now.
Using this, I would get 65% Bonus Experience myself, but big deal? I’ve been through the game alot and I deserve to level a bit faster for my hard work, its not like i’m getting free gold for doing it, I just don’t have to spend as much time on an alt as I do my mains.

We held off Langlor for 6 hours last night vs about 60 Blackgate players, I stayed up till 5 AM with several people defending it, we held off Giant Omega Golems, waves of zergs with 3 orbs, and many other players.
We were outmanned 6 to 1 and out buffed, and still held our fortress, I got so tired though I had to log out.
Wake up this morning, its all gone…
Earned about 23 badges, which is really good.

Those 2 ticks alone uncontested damage make up the extra 400 damage you get from going power.

Due to the lack of gear with the stats. “Precision/Condition Damage” and having no jewelry for that, the necromancer lacks in alot of the power he was meant to have, if more gear showed up with these stats, then the necromancer’s true power would probably shine.

Power is completely USELESS without having precision, your critical attacks stacking with power would do far more damage then getting just raw power. (Precision magnifies based on your base power as well, so even if you lost all the power from the set it would just be better.)
Making it Precision would bring about the same damage as you would get with the power you have, you would not see a difference in damage, but since you actually critical, it opens FAR more options for you.

One of the best sets, but also one of the worst, the Carrion set was meant for condition damage and builds, but the “Power” portion of the set does nothing for condition damage, nore does it help apply bleeds any faster, alot of traits require you to critical to get more dots, but this set adds none.
Power is a completely useless statistic unless you have alot of precision, can we please change the Power on Carrion Set to a better, more useful stat.. Power without “Power” the ability to critical is USELESS… (I only have a 4% chance to critical, I have the entire set.)
“Precision.” – This would allow the Carrion to actually critical, even though the criticals would do far less damage then normally, it would actually PROC things like bleeds and poisons from sigils and traits that cause bleeding on criticals.
“Toughness.” – This would allow the Carrion to survive, and work really well with many builds, Carrions weren’t meant to die easily since the set and play-style is “wearing your opponent down.”

You all said it was a bit overpowered, so how about adding a little bit of time to it, say bumping it up from 25 to 28 seconds, this leave it to be a 22 second cooldown if you add down with the trait, 3 seconds off from it.
This ensures the play-style of a non-specter is not changed too much, Necromancers honestly don’t need a nerf, they need buffs.
Honestly, the reason I have offered the idea is because it gives the traits more value and syncs into what necromancers do best, heal and survive, the traits reflect that, and to have a -20% trait (one of the more valuable necromancer traits.) only effect 3 abilities while most other ones effect 5 abilities, it does not seem fair, this offers more balance among the necromancers base traits, they should not sacrifice so much without vain.
