This would be nice. Sometimes I forget to switch guild rep or switch to another character repping the wrong guild. This would ease that and promote guild cooperation rather than competition for members/rep. Also massive guilds that go beyond the member limit can effectively make their guilds “larger” this way. +1 from me.
I don’t care which way your sword curves, I think it looks wonderful just the way it is!
(0u^)I don’t think that hot blade fits in any sheath.
That’s ok, with that exposed heat pressed against their hip they know they can grip it and whip it out whenever they want for fun fun times! \(^o^)/

Totally want an armor set of this. But considering what Anet said about armor being very time consuming to develop… I still would heavily dislike an outfit that decides your look for you. I’d be satisfied with just the helmet armor piece. Maybe from there go to shoulders and gauntlets like the Scarlet’s Veil/Spaulders/Grasp.
I certainly would. GW2 has already given me more than my money’s worth multiple times over so paying another $50-100 in 2 or more years is no biggie for me personally.
Buying GW2 was like buying a lifetime pass to Universal Studios. Buying HoT was like buying a lifetime pass to Islands of Adventure. If there are preorder incentives like a character slot and skins I might as well since I’ll be playing it anyway.
Hard to imagine a GW2 hype train without Colin. Glad he left on good terms, that seems so rare nowadays. Good luck to him in all his future endeavors, and here’s looking forward to what a new director has in store for us!
Also agree. People wanted more dev interaction, Anet delivered. Glad they were so transparent and hopefully people stop being Chicken Littles and actually make some constructive discussion out of this.
Yes please. +1
I haven’t had more than 2-3 gold spams within a 2 week span since the bear-bow ranger bot trains were shut down. Usually I get even less than that. My AP is above 20k.
If you care about birthday gifts don’t delete you’re old characters. Otherwise go ahead and delete one or use an empty char slot to start anew and get your bearings.
Also Bog Otter’s Boomerang series is a good way to get an idea how GW2 has progressed over the years.
Titles should work for a Reputation System, hats how they worked in GW1 where we hat reputation due to havign different Factions in the game, providing you basically on how much reputation you collected for a said faction increasing benefits that were basically only useful for PvE only.
Thats how Titles should work in GW2 again to make them more meaningful and rewarding.
also this Game needs alot more Titles aot of unused potential there.
Not to say that this game needs better titles also – alot of the stuff that we have so far aren#t even at all real titles…Stufff like Been there, done that, Golden, Twice told legend, The be all and end all are no titles to me …
Titles are things like “Acolyte of Dwayna”, Grand Artisan, Professor, Hero of Lions Arch and so on..
Things, that say something out about you and your character, who or what they are.

Noooooo… I don’t want to be juggling titles every time I decide to do something different in game.
I’d call that falling with style!
I’d rather not… People complain about grinding achievements for masteries already, and this would just add to that. Also it would pressure me to choose a title for the bonus and not for the title’s “flavor”.
Did Shadow Behemoth for Queensdale events daily today and I announced it in chat. Several people didn’t even know where it was and asked for a waypoint. I don’t doubt people are leaving as they get bored, but there’s a decent stream of new players constantly coming in as well.
I want more “toy mounts” like the magic carpet, broom stick, etc. But I want to be able to use all my movement abilities while riding them. Like “Rocket Boots” on engie, various sword and greatsword skills on warrior, blink for Mesmer, ride the lightning for ele, etc.etc.etc.
I just want to use all the movement skills I already have while riding a purely cosmetic mount.
Also don’t delete your characters if you care about birthday gifts. You get a different one for every year your character has existed.
Yup best MMO for me. Though I don’t mind dabbling in multiple games either.
The more I look into BDO the less excited I get for it. Gender/class locking kills what awesome elements its character creator has (ex: I can make the most accurate Daniel Radcliffe, but as is I could never make him Harry Potter), world bosses are dumber and have less mechanics than pre-update Shatterer, quests are the most mundane examples of kill/fetch/escort quests, grinding brainless mobs is the accepted way to level up (and better hope no one else is there to snipe your kills), and the smooth fluid combat is wasted on dumb AI, the cash shop is very controversial right now, PvE end game seems to be Garrison levels of “send out NPCs to go out and gather/craft stuff”, what WvW elements it has in open world PvP only happens on Saturdays since that’s the only time castles are contestable, in-game armor sets look nearly identical throughout leveling process so most characters will look the same despite awesome character creator, the open world is vast beautiful and seamless but empty of anything other than “cluster of mobs here, cluster of mobs there”, no dungeons/raids (though I don’t mind this much at all personally), many are considering it the perfect “Netflix game” (AFK fishing for money, AFK level your horse, etc.) so I guess if I did get into BDO I could literally play it and GW2 at the same time anyway lol, etc…
There are still awesome elements though. Assassin’s Creed style parkour and climbing, you can properly sit on pretty much any ledge (except chairs under tables, you can’t pull them out), lean on walls and go free camera, building ships/caravans, housing (though WildStar’s is better imo), catching/raising horses, when castles are actually contestable the “guild wars” looks fun… but that’s all fluff relative to everything else and the more my list of disappointments grow the more I can hear DAUM going “soon” and “eventually” just as much as every other MMO on the market…
I was going to buy it, but now I’m firmly on the fence waiting for more news haha. At most I only see myself playing Saturdays to get my WvW fix.
In my mind the only thing that can really be judged is WvW, because there are three zones with no overflows. But even then some WvW players could be playing Edge of the Mists because they don’t like the new borderlands.
Like most, can only speak from personal experience, but we wouldn’t be caught dead in EoTM as we never considered it WvW. Some might call that a “hardcore” attitude, personally having known hardcore guilds and GvG guilds, I’d say that was tame.
Those driving the WvW and GvG scene from years gone have left a long time ago and those who were more casual have gone now. Our current guild message…
Coming from Maguuma, largely considered the “for the fights” server back in the day (#magswag), I agree that the general attitude was/is that EotM is only for PvE ktrainers, leveling alts, training noob commanders etc.
Having said that, when EotM first came out our most popular commander disappeared from WvW and primarily played EotM (and was made fun of a lot for doing so). Even after that, between seasons, he regularly played it (and also attracted many Maguumiebears to follow him often filling a map). So yeah, pretty much all the havoc squads and GvG guilds are gone or dispersed (and I miss them a lot too), but I’d argue even on fight club Maguuma the vast majority of the “WvW” population were those pugs following a pugmander. And they are far less picky about playing on EotM than what would be considered a proper WvWer.
I play EotM a lot myself, though I’m probably the most PvE casual on Maguuma lol. I recognize a few server-mates and sometimes people recognize some of my characters there and I get a whisper every now and then. shrugs WvW is certainly hurting a lot, but I still occasionally find things that keep me optimistic.
“Anet could give us a lot of new maps if …” That was the bit that threw me off. yeah I get you now.
Valve is evil.
Adobe is evil.
Anet is not evil.
omg Adobe Creative Cloud angers me so…
On the other side you can read/watch a lot for example about the weapon designers. (For example the people that wrote and spoke during on stream about the new legendary’s) They actually design weapons for blc and ingame. So each design for blc they work on is time and design taken from ingame available items through pve for example.
Well what makes you think that loot item design is something that is slowing down the production of new maps then? They can design all the in-game loot they want, that’s not going to speed up development of enemy AI, event chains, map layouts, etc.
Another area is the staff that designs collections. Each gemshop collection they design could have been an ingame collection, same effort! (If you don’t believe it, watch the streams anet did at the time they release their collection system)
Again, nothing to do with developing AI, events, or layouts. They could already have collections planned for future maps or they may have their hands tied until more things on the other teams progress.
So yes not everyone is working on the gemshop, but every work that is put into the gemshop could have been put ingame through pve/pvp/wvw with the same effort too. (And I agree fully with you, that the gemshop probably has the big advantage that they need no programmers at all to put it in, but the same way is possible with collections! Best example that there is no big work difference in implementig are the blc weapons and their collections!)
OK so you’re just saying you want gem store items as loot. Again, nothing that will develop more maps nor the various mechanics within them. That’s fine to have that opinion, it’s always cool to open a bag and find something new. But if it really offends you that much, just buy gems with gold.
PS: Actually if you look it up, it’s a pure marketing/economic decision that anet spams us with gemshop items instead of a different way. And there is nothing wrong with that, because anet shall make money and they shall have the happiest shareholders that exist! The question is the proportion and that proportion could be handled way differently and better for the customers. (For example, only create 6 (or less) new blc sets each year and reroll one old set every month) or every two month.
Correct, but again nothing to do with map development. You just meant you want more items in the loot tables rather than the gem shop. I can understand that, though I don’t mind either way. I just earn gold to get gems if I don’t want to pay cash.
What most of the hardcore fanboys and new player still don’t unterstand (look at the other posts here):
Anet could give us a lot of new maps if anet wouldn’t waste so much ressources every two weeks on a new bltc set + costume + glider + some other gemshop item.
And what you don’t seem to understand is the team making all those pretty gliders, weapons, costumes, minis, etc. are probably all artists and animators designing skins to already existing mechanics. They probably have no expertise in figuring out how mobs attack/defend, nor interact with each other or the players, nor design maps and how events take place within their space. Heck, they very well might not even be the same artists who make the trees, rocks, wildlife, etc. within those maps. They might be solely costume and weapon designers and throwing them into a level design team would have little to no value.
Not sure if said already here, but I posted in another thread. A Monkey King cloud (like Goku’s Flying Nimbus) would’ve been perfect for the lunar new year.
Also if all races get “surfing” animations like Charr on brooms, steam punk hover boards, or surf boards like Silver Surfer.
I would love a Flying Nimbus
Also this would make a great glider skin as well..
Haha you would “Vegeta” :P

honestly, BDO didn’t offer a gameplay as good as here. And most of ppl are getting fooled by the “OMGARHD, Character Creation” which in fact is pretty locked by the job classes. In the end, an Girl Archer will be pretty similar to another girl archer, unless you put the sliders to the end (which, GW2 can do too).
Yeah I DL’d the character creator. It’s freely available. Moveable/resizable tattoos, all those minute face sections you can shift around, widen/lengthen limbs, shifting the hair around! It was amazing and I wish I could have a lot of those things here, but it did turn out to be surprisingly limiting. Apparently they’re changing from the Korean version so classes aren’t gender locked, but even then each class is locked to a specific base body type. Place is gonna be full of Ian McKellen Gandalf wizards…
The whole time I just kept thinking “I can’t make Yoda with this”, “nor Mickey Mouse”, “maybe Piccolo, but could he have antennae?”, “Disney’s Beast?”
Just having Sylvari, Asura, and Charr available to all classes is surprisingly more liberating.
I’ll try BDO, probably will have fun, but so far not expecting I’ll stay there long.
Not sure if said already, but a Monkey King cloud or Goku’s “Flying Nimbus” would’ve been perfect for the Lunar Year.
And if characters use a “surf” animation like Charr on a broom I’d like to have a surf board “Silver Surfer” style.

What we’ve seen so far, more than anything, is that not enough people over all purchased the expansion. Those who haven’t can’t comment on whether or not it’s hard core enough for them.
Every bit of evidence I can think of seems to indicate people not buying the game in the first place, not just people who think the game is too hard. More than likely too expensive is as much as a culprit as anything.
Yeah, especially given what NCsoft said about not turning as many P4F into B2P customers as expected, I’m more leaning toward this line of thinking as well. People who didn’t buy HoT to begin with have no idea how hard it is.
Please forgive my generalization, but these P4F players were willing to wait 3 years and over multiple $10 sales to get GW2 “for free”, or were completely unaware of the game until it was free. Then they’re told next expansion they’ll get HoT for free and the next expansion will be B2P again. If I put myself in that mindset, willing to wait years for a free game, I’d probably sit tight too. Enjoy central Tyria in the meantime.
Keeping the barrier to entry down at $50 total was a fantastic move in my opinion. But the execution could still use some tweaking I think. Maybe next expansion keep Central Tyria free as it is, but bundle HoT and expac2 together at $50? Maybe with similar veteran appreciation gifts (character slot and outfit)? Then continue that pattern, HoT+expac2+expac3=$50, etc… The barrier remains where it is and people who feel “HoT isn’t worth it” might change their mind if the content is doubled at that point.
Does that sound more fair? Or do y’all think it’ll spark the same drama HoT faced? Current HoT purchasers going “unfair! I paid for HoT 3 years ago!”.
Like a few other people, I feel there are multiple issues at work here too. LW S1 and S2 for example. HoT is like a Star Wars boxset that only contains “Return of the Jedi” where you can buy “the Empire Strikes Back” separately and “A New Hope” is unavailable altogether. If you’ve never seen A New Hope are you going to bother with that box set?
First bundle S2 with the pack and I know the nature of S1 keeps it from being purchasable like S2, but the issue is still a major barrier in my opinion. What if S1 were a recurring year-long event? Each episode treated like a festival event and regularly dropped in, alongside the other festivals we’ve become accustomed to? Having HoT alongside Halloween wasn’t that bad IMO. Then simply continue LW and expansions as they have been doing with instanced story mixed with some open world dialogue like HoT?
I don’t know how much work goes into adapting S1 like that, but that must be easier than rebuilding it all from the ground up? At least more manageable? And I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of P4F players are cycling through their various personal stories waiting to see what Anet does next.

And yeah a lot of people are waiting for SAB. That would bring people back.
SAB is not GW2 though. It’s a separate 3d platformer inside GW2. If people would come back just for that, that would be hilarious irony.
Well, I didn’t mean we’d get launch numbers back. But it was very well received and you’ve gotta admit a lot of people wanted it for a long time now yeah?

I really cant understand what people like you want to prove, or what goal are you seeking…
Just the facts. All NCsoft titles showed a boost in revenue and GW2 in particular “surged”.
GW2 passed from the 2nd best game in sells for NCsoft in 2014 to 3rd, in a year where it had an expansion launched, while the new 2nd didnt have any.
Also a year of GW2 content draught leading to the expansion, and refunds transitioning to P4F. Staying stable during that period is pretty good in my mind.
Solid sales doesnt mean good sales. It is just vocabulary to investors, so they dont fly.
I’ll take solid sales over bad sales any day. (Also what Vayne said)
If changes are coming on the kind of content, quantity and frequency inGW2, is beacuse ncsoft realized the game need them. Why cant we see it as well?
Every company changes their product/service in an attempt to improve said product/service. Nobody I see disagrees things couldn’t be better, things can always be better.
And of course NCsoft is not going to die, they had great performance and revenues, but mainly thanks toLineage 1 and B&S, not thanks to GW2, who underperformed and its in need of changes.
Lineage 1 has always been their main cash cow, and there’s a reason it’s no longer available in the west, and it’s pretty much just sitting where it has been for years now. And B&S’s bump is not much higher than their typical stable state. So what’s your point exactly? All NCsoft titles did well last year, with GW2 getting the largest boost nearly doubling its revenue and somehow GW2 wasn’t a part of raising NCsofts’ revenue? Please.
They need to bring people back to the game, or new ones. And for that task they need a new kind of game, more apealing, both in prize and content. Ncsoft knows it, hopefully player base realize that someday as well…
We are in this position and with HoT because some people demanded this and Anet listened to them.
Pls, lets start for once to tell anet something that actually help the game, its sales and increase our fun in game playtime, instead of cover reality and accept the disappointment as something good.
Well, I continued the “how to improve” discussion after that post. GW2 had successful difficult content front and center before. Challenging group content is still popular with silverwastes (one hit KO hounds in labyrinth, multiple bosses/mechanics). Shatterer is just as popular as ever and is “less casual”, though still relatively easy. I largely feel casual friendliness is not the issue here.

@Daikon,
Been thinking about it for a long time as well, and honestly? I think it might have something to do with just how well GW2 brought in players who would have never played MMOs before.
From my perspective as a Veteran MMO player, pre-HoT GW2 had zero challenge in getting any horizontial progression done, with Liquid Gold being a main driver behind earning the vast majority of items.
Fast-forward to HoT, now certain items are behind working on a map for a currency, and the crowd who originally could get a similar kind of progression anywhere else in Tyria, likely in a gold farming spot like Frostgourge train or World Bosses, find that they have to actually play a certain map for getting say the Bladed Armor.
Is this gating? Maybe, but it also creates a sort of scarcity for the items, which brings us back to the whole horizontial progression. You know very well what the player next to you did when they covered themselves in blades, even the Chest item. And all the players who were so accustomed to being able to do anything, even the most mundane or easy of tasks, find themselves being forced to do content that is a step up from Core, but its the fact that they are being forced that drives them away.
The question we have to ask is if this is a GOOD thing? Because on that same token, there’s no rush for getting the full armor set, you can do so at your own pace! Bladed Armor or items of that nature will always be there for players to gain…
This game probably has the largest amount of individual game cultures in it of any MMO out there. Heck, when SAB comes back I bet we will see a massive influx just from that side-game. There are just so many cultures it becomes hard to please everyone.
Heh, that’s me! GW2 Baby’s first MMO.
“Gating skins” runs into the same issue I’m pondering though. Skins were gated plenty in Central Tyria. WvW seasons, dungeon skins before the PvP tracks, SAB, etc., etc. , etc. all had exclusive content with little to no outcry. Just like I don’t think “casual vs. hardcore” is the heart of the issue either since there was a lot of challenging group content throughout GW2’s life so far (tower of nightmares, marionette, TT, etc.).
Yeah there are many different cultures within GW2 that can’t all be catered to at once. That may be part of the issue, though looking back I still feel Anet couldn’t have done much more there either. Even WvW, which feels largely negelected, the BL has changed numerous times already. There used to be orbs that got taken out because they made for lop-sided matches, there was a Krait event on a center island that was switched out with the ruins to promote splitting up zergs and minimize under water combat, GvG guilds got a coliseum in Obsidian Sanctum to hold their “fight club”, EotM was added to entertain players waiting in queue. Whatever players feel about WvW, they can’t say Anet hasn’t done a lot for it. Even the new desert BL has a lot of stuff going on in it that was meant to address player concerns. Anet’s really good at pumping out content for everyone, it just doesn’t seem to always stick.
And yeah a lot of people are waiting for SAB. That would bring people back.

All this talk about ‘more challenge’ ‘more casual’ ‘hardcore’… I think those terms are so subjective just saying them doesn’t help Anet at all. Saying “don’t cater to those people, cater to my people for we are the larger demographic” is just useless.
If it were a matter of tough content keeping people out, nobody would do Triple Trouble as long as they had, nor the SilverWastes meta where you have to coordinate lanes, at least roughly understand multiple boss mechanics, and deal with one hit KO hounds in the labyrinth. Tequatl was a huge event, the Marionette was very well received. Tons of people played in the Crown Pavilion. The climactic battle against Scarlet in LA. If it were a simple matter of “make things easier” none of those things would have been as popular as they were.
I think the casual “friendliness” is not the direct issue here. There’s something deeper that is keeping people dissatisfied…

For anyone assuming NCsoft/Anet must be unhappy right now…
“NCSoft, the Korean MMORPG juggernaut, released Q4 2015 earnings today and they reported $196.7M in revenue, the highest in over a year, largely thanks to Guild Wars 2 (the Heart of Thorns expansion launched in Q4). "
…
“NCSoft’s stock (Korea Stock Exchange: 036570) has performed exceptionally well over the last few months, especially since global stocks have been in free-fall since 2016 began. NCSoft’s stock is sitting at multi-year highs.” (http://mmos.com/news/ncsoft-q4-revenues-increase)
“NCsoft says that its QOQ sales and profits were up thanks to “balanced growth from all major IPs” and that “operating marging reached 32% driven by an increase in high-marging overseas royalty revenue.” Guild Wars 2 in particular “surged” upward in the fourth quarter”
…
“NCsoft says GW2 “solidified its position as a main revenue driver by adding on expansion pack sales to stable in-game item sales.” " (http://massivelyop.com/2016/02/10/ncsoft-reports-q4-2015-sales-surge-for-guild-wars-2-bump-for-wildstar/)
So yeah, HoT didn’t sell as “well as expected”. It still “sold well”. Well enough to be among their top 2-3 games and be credited directly by NCsoft.
Anyone thinking NCsoft and Anet are in panic mode… they’re not. Your argument boils down to “they got rich, but not filthy stinking Scrooge McDuck swimming in a tower of gold coins rich. Man what a failure.” Maybe they aren’t streaking through the streets and showering each other with champagne and confetti, but I’d bet they aren’t unhappy either.
Yeah it’s like Anet(Courage) making HoT(Mac and Cheese) for customers(Li’l Muriel).
“More challenge!” “Too much challenge!” “More heals!” “Heals too strong!” “More expansion less LW!” “Yay expansion!” splat “We hate expansions… When’s LW?”
As much as I’d like to have some names I have used in past games, I don’t think an inactive person (who may become active at some point in the future) would be happy returning to Guild Wars 2 and find his characters are generically renamed to a default with letters and numbers. I’d be disappointed if that were to happen to me if I left and returned.
Just sayin’, my idea would avoid that. Notice the 9267 at the end of my name? If I were to be inactive for 2 years then come back, that would be added to the end of the names of all my characters (it also ignores character limit). Then when I log back on, I’m mailed a number of name change kits corresponding to the number of characters I have, so I can change all their names back.
If I returned to find I had to figure out new names for my 20+ characters, even if given 20+ kits, that would be a barrier to entry I wouldn’t be willing to deal with. And there are people with far more characters than me.
Bog Otter’s boomerang videos summarize things fairly well.
They’re tailored to help returning players.
Since I have many toons parked in LA I’ll probably start from the light house.
piccolo from dbz and mickey mouse
That Mickey Mouse is me! Thanks for sharing it!
I also have a Piccolo. It’s a little different from that one though!
As someone whose entire roster of over 20 toons are pop-culture references/cosplays, I do often find exact names are already taken. That being said I’ve always found satisfactory names just by adding their occupation, title, or various other descriptors.
For example during the beta weekends I tried out revenant and after playing dress up decided I could make an ok looking ninja turtle. I managed to reserve ALL 4 TURTLES just by adding their family name “Hamato” (like Hamato Yoshi, so Hamato Leonardo, Hamato Donatello, etc.) . This was after the beta weekends in the middle of the HoT hype train and a couple seasons into Nickelodeon’kitten reimagining of the franchise which is still going strong today. Even if those names were taken (which I was expecting) I would have adapted with something like “Blue Leader Leo” or “Party Dude Mikey” or “T M N T Raphael”.
The same extends to any name. Want to RP as Bob? Maybe Bob is a bartender so you could call him “Bob The Bartender”, “Bartender Bob”, “Bob Booze”. Point is there are near infinite ways to name the same character. Just think beyond the name alone.

nunchucks. for everything. Had dual swords for Leo, dagger-daggers that look like sai for Raph, we’re getting melee staff with HoT for Donnie… I need nunchucks.
Not before you disagree the rep rule, that doesn’t sound alternative to me, more like, I want it this way, it has to be this way.
Well then that’s your linear thinking narrowing your interpretation of what I was saying. I have already said “it works for you, not for me” “not that it’s better or worse, just that there are other ways” etc.
If that comes off to you as “I want to take away the kind of group you have fun in and make them all the kind of group I have fun in” then you are seriously stretching my words sir.
Or if you mean I want to play with flexible rep guilds, then yes I do. And for me to join those guilds, yes I want them to be that way. Obviously I don’t join otherwise. That doesn’t mean I don’t want you to play with 100% rep guilds.
You should have fun the way you want to have fun as long as you don’t intrude on other people’s fun, whether that’s with a 100% rep guild or not. I hope I’ve made that clear now.
So you’re saying my thought process is logical? I can live with that. And you can maintain a relationship with multiple guilds at different times a lot like you can 500 people at different times. Do you think the 50 people you see in prime time are consistently the same you see during off hours? You’re still maintaining relationships with different people.
linear thinking is a systematic step-by-step kind of thinking and many people call this way of thinking logic
while non-linear don’t follow the step-by-step thinking and many people call this way of thinking creative and innovativecreating a community, relationships aren’t something you write from A to Z, in a step by step manner. theoretically, you can do certain things in certain ways but in practice, it doesn’t work perfectly so. a community isn’t compose of just logic but also human factors like behaviours, thinking, culture, emotions etc.
a guild can be built by luck, got lucky and recruited a good group of nice people who are repping and not only that, also contributing to your guild. a guild can also be built by hardwork and bad luck, recruiting bad group of people who don’t bother to rep or even when they do rep, they don’t bother to contribute and create troubles instead, filtering through different kind of people to get the right people. a guild can also be built by backstabbing another guild and taking their members away, even if is a small portion.
Exactly. It is why I offered an alternative multi-guild option for having active players at all hours when you only offered a 100% rep option. I created an alternative using my creativity. I’m sure others could create more. Creativity doesn’t have to be an abstract thing, many breakthroughs are developed through creative use of logical thinking.

it is a matter of linear thinking vs non-linear thinking
im not saying non-rep is not possible, my guild was never a full rep from the get go. we only implement it later. so, again, im not saying that it is impossible to build guild with little rep enforcement, again, i even mentioned that any small/medium sized guild that enforce rep rule are sub-standard guilds. this also include small/medium sized guilds that tried to make rep rule like evil cult rules, those are sub-standard guilds as well.
however, the point is many people are very focused in linear thinking and not considering any other perspectives. then, i noticed quite a number of people trying to make rep rule as some kind of evil existence. yes, there are a lot of bad full rep guilds here and there but it isnt fair to group all those successful large guilds together with them.
now, the question is, what is a large guild? it is not just mere total numbers of people you have in your roster but rather your overall activeness of the guild that spread across multiple timezone, not just one single timezone. it is easy to create a single timezone guild, i’ve been through that but to sustain a multiple timezones guild is where things start to get complicated.
Well, about non-linear thinking why not just join multiple lax rep guilds who are active in different time zones then? You get active population throughout the day and still have the freedom to rep whoever you want. Not saying it’s better or worse than your way but assuming a single 100% rep massive guild is the only way to play with people at all hours seems like linear thinking to me.
obviously, your thinking is linear as it is. yes, i agree, logically you can join 5 guilds which then combine up to 2.5k people. logically, that is one way anyone can do it. but let me ask you this, are you going to personally know all 2.5k people? is it even possible to make friends with 2.5k and sustain those relationships?
I don’t see why one would have to do so with over 2k people in the first place. I never said you had to join multiple massive guilds. Just join small-med guilds. Again there’s that non-linear thinking, providing options. But if you want to interact with 2.5k people, that’s yet another reason to go with multiple guilds over one massive 500 guild. Lol
Sorry, it is a good thing that you enjoy your 100% rep guild. Clearly you have a strong bond with them, and it’s great that you’ve maintained a solid community with them. While I don’t agree about 100% rep I can at least respect that your guild is fun for the people who do agree with you.

Different strokes for different folks in this case clearly. Either way for the OP I still say if (and only if) the large guild is a fully 100% rep guild that will not tolerate helping friends build their own guilds or whatever you plan to do with your RL friends and you can’t wait to see how HoT changes things, I would leave the large guild and look for other options. Obviously if they are mostly rep and tolerate you repping your friends occasionally then there’s no problem.
i dont think you run a large guild before.
No, but I am a member of a 300-400 member guild with nearly no rep required even when playing together and we all get on ts and coordinate just fine. Plenty rep and donate to keep things running including myself. So I know it can work. Apparently 100% rep works for your guild and whatever you enjoy doing is cool. It just wouldn’t work for me.
That is totally false. It worked “for you”. You like the way how it is “for you”.
Some people dont’ think it work “for them”. Not everyone likes the same thing.
Your guild may have like 20-30 people you can play with. And maybe 10 people online at off time.
I like to be in a guild with 50 people online at all time. Even 3am eastern time. Your guild won’t “work for me”. If a guild is a no rep guild. It is almost impossible for them to have 50 people online 24/7. Unless they are a mega multiguild.
Um… that’s what I said… 100% rep is not what works for me but works for the other guy. Also yes there are multiple guilds that work within that one guild I mentioned. It’s still a guild and we all interact/work together. No I don’t think it would be for you either.
