No it’s not. I play in wvw mainly and now it’s impossible to hit someone in group, unless guy is standing still.
Mindless thieves are easy to kill even before and after nerf.
Even though i play thief as my main character, this nerf is good.
Thief is not the easiest class to play, but spamming backstab + attack-chain + shadow shot was making it too easy.
This change separates good thieves, that can adapt to the situation, from the mindless metabuild copiers.
I ask game makers to reconsider on this. Change it back. No CD. You added /upset emotion specially for thieves.

This is bullkitten. imagine your main attack would have 1sec cd after every failure to hit. And its so easy to get that failure. Targets tend to move, evade, blind, block attacks. Try to do it in group fights where aoe cc, and lots of stuff happening in a blink of eye. Try to backstab or any other attack from stealth. You jump in middle of group and you do no damage at all because your target has simply moved away slightly.
Eh, it’s no big deal. I guess now you may have to pay attention when stealthing instead of just spamming backstab.

Is this 1 second thingi supposed to affect a stealthed d/p thief that shadowshot and spam 1 for backstab, I don’t really get the idea behind this change except wanting thief players to position themselves properly for backstab.

position properly? how many tries before 3sec of stealth wears off do you think thief have? I can answer – 1. So you spend all of your initiative for stealth and then you have 1 try.

Anet – rollback this. Not easy to land backstab without this nerf, but now its nearly imposible. Due to other class interrupts, dodge, blind and other CC. That means if you fail to land backstab once you cant do it again in same stealth cycle. This CD is too random as you cant predict evades or blocks in a matter of blink.
If this is your thief vision please remove stealth. Reveal, no backstab. Do you see thieves as clowns jumping around with endless dodge? I’d still like to be predator not clown. lurking, hitting, running away.
And I would like to thank Anet for constant feedback. It works much better than wall of silence which was used 1 year ago.
I’d say merge servers and let players swap them once in a quarter. I do not like idea of being a minion server player tossed or linked with different boss servers.

Just curious, what world do you play for? I’m looking at the current breakdown of votes by world right now, and nearly every world has voted in favor of World Linking. There are a few that are 50/50, and one that is against it.
To be clear, some of us who have serious issues with the current Linking system are voting Yes because the possible alternatives provided to us via these forums (like merging) seem like they might end up worse – but this in no way reflects an ‘in favor’ mindset. Without a clear idea of what will happen next with a Yes majority, and a vague but troubling idea of the No outcome, what are you gonna do?
Speaking for myself on Kaineng, I am NOT in favor of World Linking as it stands right now. However, the poll seems to indicate that Linking will get some attention if this poll passes – so given an impossible choice, I guess it’s Yes. I’m hopeful it can be reworked into a positive system.
I hope this optimism is repaid – the many issues brought up on these forums are a great resource, and I’m open to direct contact if Anet is looking for a Kaineng player perspective at any time.

I agree with Henry. I’d display names too and allow chat between foes. In my early days of WvW I had more enemy friends than from my own server. Just ignored insults or rude people as I do in real life. Offense is taken not given. You choose how to react. Nobody forbids you to use any type of build or fighting style in WvW. It’s fun. One time you win another you loose. It’s a game. Good game with plenty nice people in it.
Anet could make voting interesting. By playing wvw you can earn voting tokens which you can trade to some merchant and make a ingame vote for features you would like to get most.
1. It will filter players who play wvw only.
2. it’s a fun way to contribute.

That’s my current build for condi d/d daredevil. As stated above #3 #3 #3. and daredevil with acrobatics gives you lots of evasion.
If ya want a little more evade to outlast the other players and kill them with condi’s, go for Channeled vigor for your heals.w endurance refill and Signet of agility for the extra 3 dodges. +stanima sigil for full endurance refill on every kill
I edited my build and now it’s almost perfected. Only classes with very good cleansing survives. if not fighting against zerg I change shadowstep into spider venom. lotus training and impairing daggers adds poison and slow/cripple/torment to target. If I need to escape switch to SB.
In some situations I capped camps with 1 or 2 defenders without paying attention to them. Recovery of this build is very good. More damage you do more hp you recover. constant evasion is done by #3 and dodge combo. Which also applies/improves conditions to nearby targets.
Thou I lost to high spike dealers with very good condition dmg handling. power thieves usually run away as most of their stuns do not work.

I came from same UW. Size of community increased drastically with merge. Anyway people are ok in FSP. Much more fights going on. One thing what worries me most is CC which seems to be out of control. AOE CC/AOE spike dmg/imob. For small roaming groups up to 5 persons it’s nightmare. Roaming became survival not conquer. If you engage same size group or objective – blob arrives, kills you. You are forced to team up with bigger groups to make any kind of input. I believe those things will be solved/tuned after some time. So I keep calm and kill red dots on map until AOEccAOEspikeBlobKillsMe.
As thief I encounter such problems very often. I.e. standing close to camp supervisor and get “obstructed” message while shooting short bow. No visible obstacles between us. Usually its in Danelon Mine. You can not use any of port skills on stairs. Steal, shadow step, signet does not work, or work in random manner. If wall is destroyed you cannot teleport through it correctly. there are plenty places in borders, less in EB where teleport abilities does not work correctly. It’s embarrassing when you rely on ports but you cant use them i.e. while attacking tower lord. DH come, put some traps, you die.
I meet plenty of UW players on enemy borders. Our zerg in FSP = small roaming group.
the uw +fsp link hasn’t been going great. the wvw uw guilds have not just got the move, but the q’s and blob style to contend with. Also it was a rocky start I’ve not seen an UW com in EB since cutover w/e and not sure I will see one again…
I don’t blame fsp, we aren’t guests, you invite guests …post cutover I’m seeing less an less uw in EB some in the borders but activity is very low. Despite the small size of uw we are proud of our server (KDR) higher than fsp… etc. I don’t think this has been handled well. they should have rolled up the small servers we have more in common and know+respect each other.
It’s a mixed feeling for me. I miss server name, feeling being home, surrounded by players and guilds I know. Same for enemies. I usually stop to duel or chat with someone with friendly guild tag or player I often meet while roaming.
In other hand DBL started to become fun as they became filled with players. Queues does not bother me. Lag does. It’s nearly impossible to fight in EB when 2 blobs meet. In low population we havent had those often. Also I’m not a fan of huge blob fights. It’s boring.
Anyway I’m very glad because Anet did great job for wvw. Tracks, DBL improvements, return of Alpine maps. It just excites me to see where it will bring wvw.
P.S. no gliding in WvW please.

I flip them pretty regular on s/d thief staff/pp thief or d/d condi thief upgraded or not. The easiest of the three would be the d/d condi thief. More guards actually means more heals. SOM caltrops daggerstorm are all very useful.
Now that on one of the builds it better to attack the fringes and kite away some of the opponents and kill them in detail while on another (d/d with condi and DB) it better to go right for the meat of the pack merely means you have to be aware of the strengths and weaknesses of your build.
I tend to want to take the scouts out first on thief when kiting. As a thief I am pretty immune to Immobs with my build. I am fast of foot so can keep the veteran supervisor out of reach . The scouts are ranged and spam blinds and when my damage shut down because of that I can not take the camp down as quickly.
May be its out of topic but I can approve that to capture T3 camp + veterans with condi d/d thief is very easy.

Wildcreek tower dredge wall in EB bugged yesterday. Reinforced wall had low health (1%). Killed it and health bar disappeared. Wall became invulnerable.
In first 2 places you cant heartseek second time without getting revealed. In Mendons must be stealth trap.
This zone in SM is real pain in ars for thieves. steal or infiltrator signet does not behave correctly. then this bug with HS over BP. All happens in zone between inner wall and castle in particular places.
Also some towers are so bugged that even if you make BP/HS combo twice 500 yards from wall you get revealed. Wildcreek if I remember it correctly.
patch did not fixed it. We destroyed 2 fortified walls in Klovan. Wall restored itself while breaking appart during animation phase. After it wall became invulnerable.
Please make that downed player could not leave wvw too. Otherwise we will face honor problem with players leaving wvw in reason not to give PPK to opposite team.

In short, our team could enter to tower directly through fortified gates. Then I asked some enemy players to do it and they succeeded.
It happened after we repaired gates ±30%. But not sure bug works while gates were not broken and repaired. Checked SM gate which was not touched by siege, they had no such bug.
Lots of good ideas. Please read it devs.
Start with removing auto upgrades so value of supply would be important again. Also having supplies as a drops from dead foes sounds very reasonable.
They could make “no BL” event. Until BL overhaul/rollback would occur.

Steal, Infiltrator’s signet, Shadowstep does not work well for me in WvW new borders. Wonder if more players has similar issues.
Steal and infiltrators signet does not activate even if in range and no elevation on ground. It’s a lottery now. Tried them lots of times in keeps and towers.
Shadow step does not work in same circumstances.
1 more thing to note is stairs, or uneven ground. Cant hit enemy even if in range. Unless jumping on him directly.
Is it a bug or some classes has countermeasures agains thief mobility?

Hi,
I made it. It was in my bank settings to authorise only secure payments. Somehow it treated Anet’s payment forwarders not safe. Solution for me was temporary disable this feature and it worked. Hope it will help to anybody.

Card and owner details are ok. Double checked that. Card is valid. I used same card for any in game purchases before. Not sure what’s wrong.

Same problem. Tried to delete Guild wars folder, change DNS to google and back to ISP, but no progress. Usually such actions solved “after patch” problems.
Just for a record. I roam alone a lot and I had seen FoW wiping BT zergs/blobs pretty often. With lower ratios and even on their corner. When it happens I join FoW for a moment.
Blacktide earned reputation. Now live with it. You won’t be able to change it soon. Of course you have good players, but Nozzle said pretty much everything about reason why you win.
If outnumbered buff on map then killed foe cannot be resurrected by his alies and must WP.
Smaller groups would have chance against zergs, especially fighting in borderlands or protecting server keep.

Usually I run in WvW which I see it as a war. I prefer staying alive landing 14k+ backstab into zerker thief back and come here to read comments full of sadness about how easy D/P is. My advice would be – choose your playing style, then adjust gear, skills, rotations to get best out of it. Do not afraid to experiment. Here in forums you can find plenty of information about builds, play styles and etc. Good luck and do not forget to have fun with thief.
