does anyone remember last night when we had the 25FC vs 60 or so GoM in the open field? that was insane.
The 2 lowest servers by far are FC and ET. In someone’s infinite wisdom, they aren’t matched up against each other this week. I guess being thumped by 2 sides instead of one is a great plan in bizaaro world.
You may not be able to fathom this, but we actually prefer not being matched up. We are both too weak to take on any of the servers right now when paired up. When the other two servers are more evenly matched nobody is camping our spawns. Just look at the difference between the last two weeks and the first week of the new matchups. This really is better for us at the bottom.
Scoring is going to turn out the same. Having 2 bigger population servers fight over 4 maps is gonna look a lot like 1 bigger population server fighting over 4 maps. Reset night looks close because everyone is excited to see the new matchup. There wont be any difference by the end of the week.
Just look at FC’s week with IoJ and DR to know that what you said is not true. Now I know that IoJ and DR hate each other so we did better than we should have, but beating DR with a little help is sooooo much better than the week before it or the two after it. http://mos.millenium.org/servers/view/48/75
Now I don’t know what server you play on but I can tell you everyone I talked to in that DR IoJ FC match had a lot of fun. We had more people on our teamspeak and people in the borderlands that were very active. The match was great! Did we win? No, of course not. The awesome thing was not being focused constantly. So yeah, this match up is way better for us.
Don’t try to speak for the lower tiers when clearly you have no idea what we feel.
Well aren’t you angry. I’ve spent 7 months of nightly WvW on FC. If you don’t think we beat DR solely because of IoJ’s payback hatred, you are insane. They were taking our towers from DR and then leaving them for us. This is all moot until they do something about the populations of the servers anyway. I’m glad you feel that getting your butt kicked a little less than last week is way better.
Clearly we are not on the same server because we didn’t get our butts handed to us on reset, at all. We went at it with DR and GoM. We even managed to hold SM castle for a while. We haven’t had this many waypoints on the map in ages. We are doing so much better this week. We had around 70 people in our TS for reset night. That population didn’t drop off for about 4 hours. Based off of just reset this week will be better than the last two.
I guess the difference comes from you thinking that 8k down after 24 hours isn’t a butt kicking. The overall score at the end of the week will be a shade closer and we will take third. I like ET because even though its for 2nd place, at least there is a close score battle all week long. None of these matchups is very fun. Losing by 160k and having a few waypoints and losing by 220k and being spawn camped both suck. Everyone shows up for restart and as the scores spread out, they disappear (or pile on) depending on what your server score is.

So people will only fight in situations that show skill if it’s a safe environment. Seriously, there is close to no penalty for dying. I don’t understand the mindset of some people, normally the mindless zergers, that can’t stand dying. If you’re in a PvP environment, you’re going to die. Don’t like it? Get better at the game. Don’t run away from it. Or do, but just stick to PvE.
Edit: If we were indeed just ganking everyone we saw, (which is not the case) just get a group together and kill us. Chase us out with a zerg. Whatever. It’s really not a hard concept.

Any duels going on before the new match-up? We may, or may not, see you for a while ET/FC! I missed fight night last night, so I’m hoping to find a few roamers out there today.
So basically you’re saying PAXA has no respect for people who want to duel because “this is pvp we own u lolz”. Thing is we never had any problems, EVER, until PAXA shows up. The reason there are no zergs rolling through is because they dont need to and they actually have some class, seeing how this matchup was insanely unbalanced and many people have posted on the forums that they were just waiting for fight night.
Sure you just attacked BS but c’mon.. saying this is open world pvp is not a kittening excuse.

I wouldn’t say its like bringing MMA fighters to a preschool class.. sure Hallucination and Lil Homie are insanely good 1v1 but they’ve been beaten or have had very good fights probably half the time while there
The huge fight last night in FC BL at the ruins was a lot of fun. It really felt like a legitimate open field battle(in terms of medieval esque type of battle) seeing as one zerg didn’t just steamroll the other creating a fight that lasted more then 10 minutes. It was also quite fun holding you guys off at the bridge and then comically switch sides of the bridge.
yes that was actually really fun. I wish Zerg fights were like that more often

I know exactly what mesmers are doing, when theyre doing it, how to counter it, when to dodge and when to attack. That said, mesmers are by far the hardest class to beat if they’re on an equal skill level.
Im not sure why thieves got this condition, their condi builds are already insanely powerful in wvw. now a condi that will probably hurt as much as burning when you move while being an extremely agile class that stays invisible, stacking bleeds and running away from you 95% of the time… I think its time to reroll to condi thief.

You aren’t serious are you? I recall smashing a laughable TTA Melee Ranger in a 1v1 with no interference.
100% sure you jumped me last night after declining to 1v1 you because we are out there to fight zerg/groups not 1v1. I played along anyway and eventually beat you on my mesmer (The little asura you dueled on center island). After downing you in the duel the Pink Yarr thief tried to rez you and then the rest of the people watching finished you because you were a waste of time and we had heard you ran away from some duels earlier when your HP was low. This is what obviously stemmed the hostility. I did give you a /bow for putting up a “good” fight though. ;]
Like I said before we aren’t out there to 1v1 and most of us run zerg busting builds not 1v1 builds so it’s pointless. Several of my guildies had said they tried to 1v1 you last night and when you get low you would run away. This is most likely why you were ganked by KoM the other times. Now I foresee a 5-10 man group ganking you every time we see you just for laughs because we know it makes you mad and you felt the need to come to the forums and lie/QQ/troll. ;]
The windmill is a perfect spot to find 1v1’s. Maybe you should head over there instead of jumping one player out of a 5-10 man group and expecting the rest of them not to jump in while you interrupt their group play. Who really wants to sit there and watch some terrible melee ranger 1v1 their guildies when they could be out smashing into zergs and getting cool fights fraps’d? Think about it.
Wow you beat a melee ranger on a mesmer in a 1v1. Do you want a reward for one of the most unbalanced 1v1 matchups ever? Good job though, I hear its hard to win with mesmers in 1v1.

I believe the match-ups are a bit more randomized…. if you havent realized seeing as how we played BP last week…. HoD would fair perfectly fine against DR and maybe NSP, or it’ll be a lot more of a closer match-up than what you’re giving us right now :P and yes…. I did spill icing on my arrow carts…
the only battle i saw with some merit was the one outside hills… the rest you guys had the keeps to support you which even at a 2:1 ratio still gives you an advantage… do you guys have any open field combat vids? I don’t think we’ve ever faced deth when SF was in t8
Deth comprises of players who played mostly with VK while you were down here. Remember VK at all?
Since I swithced from a 0/5/30/30/5 cleric/zerk build with soldier runes to the same 0/5/30/30/5 zerk/divinity build with divinity runes I’ve had much better luck against players. The thing is, there really isnt a way to outlive some eles and mesmers and the only way to beat them is to dps them down. Conditions will destroy us always imo, but tbh the 1 condi removal per shout has NOT hurt as much as I thought it would. I also run the signet heal and purity trait though, so I still get 2 condis removed every 10 seconds. Also not running soldier runes lets me tinker with my utilities a bit more; sometimes I switch out retreat/HTL for Judge’s intervention.
What heaven said, Deth is a very good 20ish man guild and probably one of the very few coordinated guilds with those numbers in the lower tiers. They usually win their even number fights and Im glad we just have SOMEONE who can do that job.
kitten I give HoD a compliment for being skilled pvpers and leave a smarty comment about PAXA because of our obvious previous conversations and it screws the whole thread… sorry guys.
I like hod more than any other Zerg server because they aren’t exactly a zerg server. So many good pvpers from KoM, VLK, PAXA that roaming can really be enjoyable (well not really PAXA they just spam immobilize on you for 15 minutes until they can finally 5v1 dps you to death, which is ok and fair) unlike other servers (GoM IoJ DR) where every player, and I mean every player, is a crappy zergling.
Kinda skeptic of running meditations again but seeing how those are completely different traits than my usual 0 30 30 5 5 meditation build I may try I out a bit
I have yet to meet the GomTart, GomnomBar , GomberryPie, etc, that can 1v1 most of the guys I fight are wimps, they 1v2 me and run away, but when the zerg comes around they gank me, Ive seen and have had better 1v1 fights with et and DR, just wait it out till the Zerg R us leaves again, we had a beautiful match up last week, I cant roam with out 10 GoM just coming out of nowhere, to those ive killed atleast u died .. while running xD
Ive gotten over the fact that most of GoM sucks 1v1 ( a lot of “Invaders” and “Assaulters” out there!) because of the fact most of them still run in groups of 3 or less. It at least makes it possible to beat them in the 1v2’s or 1v3’s. IoJ was just annoying because they hardly ran in groups smaller than 5, usually 10 to 15.
And today’s live action score report coming straight from FC Garrison! What started as a 7-man guild roam turned into a BL conquering engine of death =D
If only we had the insanely massive numbers of that magnitude that we could turn our large roaming groups into massive zergs…
Well even though GoM is more zergy than IoJ at least I can enjoy solo roaming a bit more, since ET and GoM don’t exclusively run in 5+ man groups to prevent their terrible pvp kitten to get owned by 1 player. Seriously I’m still upset by how much IoJ kitten ed me off.
Another FYI, if you had unlimited supplies, didn’t have any delay between builds, could build 24/7, it would take around 2 and a half weeks to get the title
