Get some condition removal, and maybe try ROLLING a Necro, Ranger, or Engie, so you can see how their skills work, and which to avoid. Watch some youtube vids of Condi tanks “pwning noobs,” and then play defensively with that in mind.
hi I rolled all of the above
on all 3 classes I have less than half the time on my guardian. Im also really good on my guardian. Howver with the exception of going against high burst on my engi, I can easily win almost every single 1v1 using the above 3 condi builds.
maybe you’re the one who should try to roll a melee DD build and try to fight a condi spam build (protip, except for specced warrs, you can’t)
I also kittening Lol’d when you said “play defensively” against condis. that’s step one to getting your kitten whooped HARD.
I wish that was true Draygo. Unfortunately in reality up to 8-10 players having several condi players is very very strong. Above 10 is where DD takes over.
In the current Meta I find myself having a nervous break down every time I have to have a 1v1 with a thief because it turns into some funky death match ballet. The amount they dodge around is ridiculous and it takes some Ninja style precision to get a clean hit. I really do dislike how immobile we are for a melee class.
guardians are practically the counter to thieves so tbh it’s probably a L2P issue. try using blinds and blocks at the right time and dodging when you suspect a backstab.
unless they’re s/d then use blinds and evades on their boon steal skills and try to zealots defense or WW when they spam 3

well considering bunker condis are autowin against all DD classes and the only way for me to win against them is to be literally twice as good and out play them in every way, asking for no condi spam is probably understandable (especially when 100g is on the line). though I was hoping to be facing that guy on either his warr or guard. tbh I’ll duel anything if it’s free, but the new meta with condi spam means no skill is involved in 90% of the fights now.

How do I always end up attracting the worst of em all eh?
Play time does not mean much considering how you can afk or bot all day.
And even IF you actively played during all that time, tells me nothing about your experience with a guardian or warrior.

you glitched inside a tower to look for holes around the tower.
you realize you have to get inside the tower to know whether or not there’s a hole right?
Just two fast questions about this.
Why did you both feel it was necessary to look for the holes(The Necro had already gotten into the tower, why get in with the guardian as well)?
What would have happened if I was not on my scheduled rounds that match and caught you two at the wall?
actually I will admit that was me, we were going around finding holes to report and we ended getting into a fight.. we just didn’t leave the tower once we got in it
yes the matchup of fallen giants .. once upon a time FC was in last place of T7 for a week.. before promptly being stomped back to the truly glorious tier.

So far your server has placed a cataptult on 3 seperate occasions on the northwest tower vista in the last matchup and the current one in order to counter a catapult placed by Bags to take down the wall. All catapults were extremely out of range of our own. One was placed by a player with the [GWTD] tag. THAT was dumb.

Two of our core 5 man players main guardians. We didn’t want to play three guards and tried different variations but that was the only way we could counter the condition spam. If it works it works.
Two guard, ele, mesmer and X is our main group, you guys just had so much condi X happened to be another guardian.

I don’t think GW2 is a game where 1 build rule over all others… I’ve seen many diferent builds from the ones you listed work nicely, so I’d say GW2 is more like Rock/Paper/Scissors… One build is effective against a certain kind of oponent, but it problably will be weak against another.
You people should stop pretending that everyone around here is the same, because if they really are, why haven’t made a build to counter that yet? I’ve beaten many of the Infamous Backstab/Heartseeker thieves and Zerker Greatsword Warrior with my engineer (which isn’t condition based, as she only have 210 CD). The ones I usually don’t kill are the ones that can run away easily, or the condition mesmers/necros which are the weakness for my engineer.
It’s more a “L2P issue” than a “OP Class issue”. But I agree that people that make builds designed to face foes on 1v1 and flee when things get rough deserve to die in shame… If you can’t win a fair fight, at least die with honor! Remember, you can always respawn at your base
idk man when I see the “40% condition duration” food buff I typically run I the opposite direction of them because the last thing I want is some engi or necro who spams condis despite me dodging all of his best skills and landing tons of hits, outplaying them dramatically, then still get owned just because kiting condis.

This is seeming like a spvp week. Play a primetime, nothing but zergs. Play at offpeak, nothing but zergs.
quit qq’ing. it’s the weekend. besides FC and ET have some of the best roamers in he bottom few (if not all) tiers. I’d hate for youto have to fight dark haven or IoJ or a server that actually does zerg.

- Burst ele versus bunker guard should probably be a win in the ele’s favor. Unless I’ve got something horribly wrong, burst eles use/should be using a zerker amulet. As offensive stats scale better than defensive ones, that would suggest that, in theory, a zerker ele should be able to defeat a bunker guard. The same also goes for Evade Thief vs Bunker.
- For evade thief versus condi necro, if you just looked at the meta, I’d say that the thief should win, assuming he’s running zerker (otherwise it’s a tossup). Pretty much a lot of the same reasons as above, and the fact that condis don’t scale quite as well as direct damage does, etc.
I’ll continue adding more input as I think of more things.

Would you mind defining “gimmicky builds”? It just seems that this kind of terminology is open to a wide variety of interpretation. I mean, most builds that “work” have a sort-of theme about them and some folks might call any kind of theme a sort-of “gimmick”. However, I do not think this is what you mean and I just wanted to try and understand your point of view.
don’t think about this too hard you might strain yourself. OP just means there’s builds that are extremely easy to play and do wayyy too well, especially if you know what you’re doing (looking at condi spamming builds imo)
Not really looking forward to this week. AR was nothing special and while I don’t know FC, from what I’ve seen so far, I’m not expecting much from them either.

anyway if you’re talking about “nothing special” in terms of massive zergs that roll over everything by pressing 1 I’m sorry we can’t do that. if you’re talking about in terms of small man skill then you’re going to have a harsh realization fighting against the several dozen extremely talented duelers here.
my thief friend said perma stealth thieves are the easiest thing in the game (plays 4 classes) and took a couple minutes to master. also took me about 5 mins to easily perma stealth.
Curious, why doesn’t FC use those numbers your sporting right now and go get your BL back ? Personally don’t care, if it wasn’t you taking AR it would have been SF, I’m just trying to figure out the thought process ?
because we only Zerg in order to destroy other SF zergs 2x our size
