Why did my low level characters lose all of the utilities I had unlocked on them? I earned the ability to unlock all of the utilities on them. They should have been grandfathered into the new system. It seems whatever was on the utility bar was grandfathered. All the others was lost. Neither do I understand why my characters that are a couple of years old didn’t have everything unlocked either?
There should be a way to convert the Spirit Shards back to Hero Points as they were. WTF am I supposed to do with thousands of these shards anyway?
How in the heck is standing there and doing any rotation considered “skill”? FF, didn’t you kids ever have a My Simon as kids? At least that required good short term memory. Doing a “rotation” in GW2 doesn’t even require that!
I don’t even know where to begin for it?
The dev’s could or should do two things. One is add a Guild tab in the LFG tool. I’d certainly try to help small guild grab the hall. The Second is raise the maximum capacity of Guild Memberships we can have. 5 certainly isn’t enough now with this new system coming in.
On a brighter note, in the trailer for Guild Halls they show 10 players grabbing the crystal in the hall. So if it only took 10 Dev’s to do it, that’s what 3-4 regular players?
<zing!>
My P/P Thief losing Ricochet
I don’t know wtf the dev’s were thinking on this. I’m on it right now as a last hurrah run.
My Bomb healing Turret Engi in sPvP is another build that was lost completely the past two months.
I think today patch is going to be a cluster kitten of WTF. As in that’s what players are going to be raging and saying with every engagement.

so be grateful and get HYPED for HoT!
How about I use common sense and remain cautious of any purchase? Going “ZOMG get Hyped” leads to impulse buying and wasteful spending.

$50 bundle for new players is a very good deal.
$50 upgrade to my current software, not so much.
What’s funny is, my 3 newer accounts get a discount toward HoT. Meanwhile, my original accounts will cost more to upgrade. Kinda of the exact opposite of what I’d hope for. The latest accounts I was going to wait until there was a black Friday or Wintersday / Christmas sale. Still a bit of a mess but, it’s some progress in the right direction.
Or, just make minor runes and sigils white level items!!!!!! Boom, instantly sold as junk now.
On one hand I’m asking myself, why aren’t you opening them? On the other hand, yes I wish everything stacked on itself. Stacking would be a great QoL improvement.
Hot Vanilla (nothing added) for $35 would have went over really well. I think a large majority would have slapped down the credit card and purchased it right away. That missing fourth purchasing option is what created all the havok this week.
I’ll more than likely be helping any guild claim the Hall the first week or so. Hopefully it’ll only take the first day or two to get everyone set up. Lot’s of personal and family guild though. Just hoping Anet raises the amount of Guilds we can join. I assume most of us are 5/5 right now.
What you want is player housing (which I want too) Which will be a separate feature (or expansion of the guild hall feature) at a later time hopefully.
Unfortunately, it’ll probably arrive toward the end of the games life cycle. Been asking for a greater home instance since shortly after launch. And, I agree with the OP that only a few will have the opportunity to use Guild Hall features. The rest of us just get to experience it as a spectator.
I’m with the OP and ask for far more from the home instance. Most of the Guild Hall features appear will probably be far beyond what an individual can accomplish. Then there’s person taste and desires that only a home instance can cover.
I see the entire conversation as nothing more or less bargaining. Which there is nothing wrong with at all. In fact, it should be expected.
Very good post OP. I find the overuse of the word “entitlement” originates from U.S. politics. It’s been the general buzz word for “evil” from one group in particular. So now if you don’t like, want, or believe what another likes, wants, or believes they mindlessly toss out “entitled” as a slur. The irony is that the greater quantity of a personality trait an individual has, the greater they perceive it in others too.
Being a hoarder for the win!
Now only if I didn’t toss out that 20+ stacks of Dragonite last week, sigh.
As a WvW player, I raid with my World! I couldn’t care less about someones guild tag. As it should be since again, it’s World vs World. So guild missions should have no baring, benefit, or requirement for WvW. Dev’s are making a muddied mess out of the meaning of WvW.
Worried about how this system will empower and favor Guild groups over a Worlds militia. Guild groups already have an advantage as it is. Hoping the dev’s keep this in mind while balancing.
Well, it’d only be natural for guilds to be more powerful than militias. It’s like saying skilled players > skill-spammers or that organized tactics > zerg mentality. That’s just common sense.
It is natural for a Guild group to be more powerful than militia through coordination, yes. But, to be artificially aided beyond that is not good for WvW. Worlds are made up of various individuals and our individual skill should matter. To state this bluntly, giving blob guilds shinies and nukes is ridiculous. There should be a World Workshop in the Citadels where everyone has equal opportunity and capacity to interact with and support their world.

It looks like to me Anet is giving up on the concept of World Communities and going to incentivize super sized guilds instead. Which will certainly leave behind family guilds too. Not very happy about this new direction they are going.

- don’t worry about learning crafting again (not a big deal)
Considering some of the recipes still haven’t been reintroduced, I wouldn’t go with another account. Then there’s all the Ascended Gear I have that’s not transferable. The skins, mini’s, and dyes that I can’t transfer. Even the near 300 magic find is a consideration. Basically, I’m always going to put my main account front and center.
TY, I watched the video. They still said 5 guilds only. I’m hoping they raise the limit to 8 or 10.
Yes Sir, couldn’t help but think of this movie clip this week.
I’m sticking with leaving everything as it is and adding a HoT Vanilla for $35. If you want or need a character slot, just get it thru the gems store for $10.

How about increasing the number of guilds we can join? It’s nice that Guilds are getting an overhaul. It’s obvious Anet is focusing on getting us all into larger Guilds now. But, I’m not going to throw out my personal and family guilds that I’ve spent years building up. How about increasing the number of guilds we can join to alleviate this conflict please?
For me, Riccochet is a must have. The damage output against multiple targets is essential.
Not enough people will do this for it to work. Already a lot of games have been sold if the posts here are anything to go by.
If post on here are anything to go by, few have bought them actually. Looks like mostly impulse buying the Ultimate package. Which isn’t even being argued over.
My Necro is probably my favorite character right now. Been running it this entire spring. For the Rev, meh I wasn’t impressed by it in beta at all. I really didn’t like the profession and the eye bleeding animation spamming it has. That brick road spam is horrid. So no, I wouldn’t delete any existing characters right now. Wait for HoT to be released before making any rash moves.

You can say it’s just $50 dollar all you want. That doesn’t fix the problem. Because the problem is NOT the price for me.
How did your marketing team miss this? HOW?
FTFY
Because for some of us, the $50 entry fee IS the problem. The rest of it just worsens the base issue.
Guilds, especially guild bank ones, act as a gold sink. No matter the name of the currency, they’ll probably be a gold conversion available. If not then, well, someone really needs firing over at Anet because they don’t know the game well enough.
OP, the problem a lot of us are having isn’t the value of the Ultimate Edition, it’s the base priced one. Simply being, the cost of entry should be lower. I was estimating the base/vanilla expansion to be about about $30-$40. If I owned only one account I would probably get the Ultimate one too. But, for me to do that now it would cost more than some make in a whole month! That’s the other issue with pricing, it’s appears to be based around the high cost of living area’s of the US. $100 is a lot of money in other parts of the planet when you factor in exchange rates.
2/10, the troll isn’t strong in this one.
Get gud
#trollstrong2015
OP, I agree and have said several times since last night that “HoT: Vanilla” should have been priced at $35. This is access to HoT for preexisting players. THEN, they could have the $50 for HoT + base GW2 for new players or players wanting another account. Followed by the special editions with all the bells and whistles.
Whomever in marketing came up with this pricing structure really overestimated their value. Also didn’t take into account that a lot of us existing players have purchased multiple accounts. Pretty much everyone I know has multiple accounts. All requiring the expansion for a uniform game play. I wouldn’t be surprised if less than half of the existing account population don’t get upgraded to HoT at these prices.

Hot should be no more than a $35 entry fee for existing players. From there we can choose to buy an additional character slot from the gem store at any time. Having additional bundles with extra’s is fine. It’s the $50 flat entry fee that’s the problem for me as it’s basically full game pricing.
Isn’t $40 – $50 pretty normal for an MMO expansion ?
It is ppl just want it for free.
No, not free at all. If the basic upgrade path for existing players was $35, there wouldn’t be such ill feelings and complaints. Especially when they’ve been putting accounts on sale and many of us have purchased additional accounts. Now it’s going to fracture our game play as Anet will be lucky if players buy one xpac, let alone a handful of them at these prices.
I was going to freak out and demand new players buy the core game for $10 instead of getting it for $0 but then I saw I ate more than $10 worth of snacks in the time it took to make this post and I realized that amount of money isnt really worth whining over. But I have to whine about something to post on the forums so I guess it will be about people whining about the $10 I was going to whine about, which ill do as soon as I wash the cheetos dust off my keyboard and figure out a witty way to do so.
TLDR JUST BUY THE STUPID THING AND GET OVER IT. $50 IS LIKE 4 TRIPS TO BURGER KING AND THE XPAC WILL HAVE MORE CONTENT THAN THAT. NOT A LOT OF MONEY AT ALL.
If you eat that much junk food, may I recommend a good dietitian for you?
OUCH!!!! GG, I didn’t expect it to be THAT expensive.
ikr..? i was hoping it would be $30..thats a punch in the gut..
A little lower, a little lower…..
OUCH!!!! GG, I didn’t expect it to be THAT expensive. And I say that especially as someone whom has several accounts.
After reading the original post, is it me or is the OP’s name too befitting?
:)
Real life – people insecure about their bodies/whatever
Video game – people insecure about their swords
Excuse me, I’m not insecure about my sword at all. I simply know it’s bigger.
Gotta love the moral hierarchy of some people. The game promotes us to hack, slash, bludgeon, and kill mobs and each other. That appears to be totally acceptable behavior, right? Though ask for a little sex appeal and some players toss out the anchor because that’s just totally unacceptable??? I shake my head at this…..
For armor’s, we absolutely should be getting more. More practical and more elegant, and yes more sexy. Enough with the flames, skulls, bones, and overly ornate stuff. Since it’s summer, how about swimwear finally??? We’ve only been asking since Southsun was introduced.
No one outside of the Dev’s know the numbers. We don’t know what the totals are, if they are static or variable, if they are equal across all 3 worlds, etc.
Norns, my once favorite Race, is now barely used. Being a large visual target is certainly a negative for them. Norn’s should have some design advantages to balance this fact. At the very least, revert the Snow Leopard nerf. Maybe then we’ll see an elite transform used once more.
If I still had me EU account I’d help hunt this kitten down. This player deserves some serious shaming for this. Though I did lol a little bit while watching you get chased down in the video.
Now this was in WvW but, I watched a thief ganking yaks by nothing more than chaining together CoD. Virtually he was perma stealthed the whole time. A little whisp was all one could see. So adding Caltrops is just icing on the cake.
If I won a million bucks I’d first off buy THE BEST TOP OF THE LINE gaming system..
I wouldn’t recommend that. You can spend $1,500 on a system that would play this or just about any other game at max settings for HD.
For me, I ’d probably spend a thousand or two on gems for the heck of it.
But as mentioned, if you want a “more realistic” model, Sylvari (both male and female) will be more to your liking
Zylvari are not more “realistic”. We simply need more choice and customization across the board when it comes to body shapes and sizes.
Especially when so many are new/bad at this. I’ve been so raging in team chat during the matches today. Editing to add how a starting 4v5 became a 3v5. PvP is still just not that fun when this crud happens.

Or, you can use software to set your mouse’s scroll wheel to function as the click. Then just scroll away at stacks instead of clicking completely.
