I’m concerned about how “safe” our Guild banks will be when HoT launches? Is there any risk of losing what is in the guild Bank on release day?
What is wrong with you players with wanting so much? Boons used to be not so easily obtained. Now you’re complaining if you can’t have a full stack of perma boons?? This game shouldn’t become, “Boon Wars 2: the Game of Boons”. Boons should be limited as scarcity is what makes them special. The Dev’s have been making a design mistake by giving far too much access to boons and subsequently conditions. Dev’s in this area, less is more!
Make no bones about it
IC what you did there!
Here’s to hoping for the return of past items!
ALL of your damages are done via blocks and utilities so yea, that would be easy cheese mode there.
The “all of your damage” is the problem with “Burn Guards”. I hate running a block build. A denial build is just not fun for anyone! Hence why people call out the chesse terms. I’ve been trying to run a more active build but, a condi Guardian just synergizes horribly. Dragon Hunter just muddies it even further into meh. Someone needs to really sit down and go over Guardian again before HoT launches.
A REAPER, swinging a scythe, transforming into a death god! Who doesn’t want that as a Necre? (Doesn’t matter it’s strong or not)
Off topic but, since you asked, I actually do not!!! I wanted a lighter side of a “Life Force” wielder. Heck, instead of minion’s I was hoping for better formed spirits and apparitions? A Necro doesn’t, at all, has to have a theme of dark bloody gore. Reaper is just a slight slight variant of the same Necro.
Druid is a nice touch as I was hoping for an A/B variant of Light and Dark to the Professional themes.
Can we get the Beta’s to include Stronghold in custom Arena’s too please???
TY
Sorry OP but, those of us in TS while watching the stream are stoked to play Druid.
Pirate, it comes with a sword that makes a cannon! What more could anyone ask???
Considering I have over 300 MF and get very few exotics, I think I’m permanently on DR
Nope, not an anti farming thing, network thing, or anything other than simply under performing at a World Boss. You’ve got to earn that tag to get the chest. Zerker up to level appropriate gear and they’ll get the chest.
So much blind hatred. I wouldn’t be surprised, at all, if most of the replies come from folks whom have not researched this at all.
I get a kick out of the few post trying to turn the topic in an elitism thread. No, there wasn’t any of that in the OP’s post. For the OP, I would say when a person has to invest in anything, they’d appreciate and care for it more. So if something is for free and easily replaceable, one should expect it to not be cared for as much.
Don’t blame the community, please. The post we were reffering to (including every response that had a quote from this post – mine too, yey!) was deleted and only half of the thread remained.
It’s always amazing to see how “clearing up” the forums causes unnecessary confusion.
Fair enough, I understand it better now thank you.
OP, what race and gender was the character of the player that kicked you? If it was a Sylvari, that would explain everything. They only pretend to all nice and peaceful. When really it’s nothing but being passive aggressive! You know, being they are the spawn of a Dragon and all. Nothing good comes from a player whom chooses such a race for their in game avatar. Should ban the lot of them for the good of the game!

Do I need to farm all the heropoints 9x now?

As someone with a lot of character across a lot of accounts, I feel your pain I’d appreciate having a clear response from the Dev’s on what’s happening. Having a “Oh what the Kitten is this!” response on release day is not going to be pleasant. And, I’m pretty certain there’s going to be a lot of anger on release. Doing Hero Points and map completes are a big question mark over the next month.
Burning is just slightly above where it should be. They could easily change the formula from (0.155 * Condition Damage) + 131.5 to (0.125 * Condition Damage) + 131.5
This would bring it back in line to being slightly better than where it was prior to the 23rd trait rework patch.
Give Burning more baseline so Power builds get more free damage output? Meanwhile, Condi builds get less for the points they invest That’s just doesn’t seem to be the right thing to due with Burning. The condition itself needs less baseline and a touch more on the scaling modifier. Might needs a nerfing again which will help with less Burning output in general. For Guardians, they actually need more active Condi output on weapons skills and less on the block traits. Ele’s need duration reduction, especially on the signet! On Mesmer, burning needs to be completely removed. The rest of the professions aren’t too bad with burning right now.
Just posting this because we have that bug where our Aqua breather and outfit hat/headpiece stays persistent after we leave the water. My helm is not ticked to view and all you see is my character hair out of the water, as it should be. When leaving the water my aqua breather is still on and so now is that hat from the pirate outfit. I can tick/untick the helm’s visibility and the hat from the outfit is removed but, the Aqua breather remains persistent.
PvP has steadily grown in population and play hours going on nearly a year now. It’s sky-rocketed since the game went free, and the two weeks before this have been our best weeks literally since the week the game launched. We anticipate this week will be the best week login/play wise PvP has ever had in the history of Gw2.
Hope you folks are using I.P.‘s to help filter down those of us with multiple accounts? And, to be honest, we’re freaking bored and have little to do in game. Thus, we’re just killing time in PvP
I think players need to take a step back and not try to control the environment as if it’s a console game. Seeing a word and being offended is completely different than being “called” a word and being offended. Tolerance should be practiced before running to report anything in game.
Look…. PvE’ers, you PvE’ing and there’s next to nothing in challenge. Might needs toning down for PvP game modes. For those professions that have a lot of passive condition output might is very potent. Even more so now that Vulnerability affects condition damage taken.
Mini’s need their own volume slider adjustment. Taking it step further, one slider for personal mini’s and another slider for public mini’s.
Amusingly, since armor does not show through outfits you can not have the pirate outfit and eyepatch visible at the same time
Mix and Match needs to be a thing again. These outfits are still incredibly un-fun when we can’t customize them at all.
You can’t force players to enjoy what you enjoy. If players like EotM and continue playing the game, then it’s good for the game as a whole.
The work around worked on two of my bugged accounts. Are you folks certain you did the story all the way to the end? Also, double check the Laurel merchant, it’s a long list and they are toward the bottom.
For WvW reta is the main reason ele’s dont run full zerker, the reta hurt when you use meteor shower.
Actually, many Ele’s run full zerk in WvW. The Retal damage that is returned to you when attacking a target is based on the source of the retal buff, not your own. You target may even be full condi and yet hit you with a very powerful retaliation, if the retal was given by a high power build.
I’m all for builds with passives and such but, Retal needs to be removed from the bleeping game. Either that or a 3sec ICD from the same target. If they wanted to keep it in PvE fine but, in WvW and PVP it should go.
I’d rather just see the current five home instances un-instanced and made part of the open world… then give us some real player homes. Complete customisation, stick the nodes in there and sell a ton of extra cosmetic kitten on the gem store to make it worth Anet’s effort.
Why yes, I’d love to have quaggan guards at the door.
I’d go for this! They should also try to include fishing as it’s been asked for over and over. Better keep those Quaggans safe. The Krait may not be the only ones catching them soon
Ahhhh, T1 problems. I feel for you guys, really I do. However, down in my tier, getting a group larger than 15 people on either side is a miracle. Most of the time its just little me and some other peep ramming doors with our golems and then swapping to heal tank solo builds. I feel for you guys =P
made for humor, do not get angry or offended XD
Sorry to hear, it’s why the Dev’s should have consolidated server’s a year ago already.
For the wall issues, wall depth needs to be increased by 50%. This way you can stand on the back of the wall in safety. Also, Mesmer Temporal curtain needs to be reworked badly! Talk about a LoS issue….. Same with Dragon’s tooth. Though at least the Ele has to get right up against the wall for it.
I have so many characters I could start my own race! Ok, maybe a tribe???? Seriously though, I’ve forgotten how much of a nag opening maps and doing map complete’s are. I’ve been unlocking maps the past couple of days and doing some achievements across accounts to get everything up to date before HoT. It’s sooooo…… SUCKS!!! Grindy, annoying, boring, I just can’t say anything positive about the experience. It’s basically just asking me to do the same thing so many times over that it’s, ugh. So something that would make map completing account wide from character wide for veteran players would be appreciated.
High price is nice. I will get more gold for my loot.
Because the heck with everyone else, right? #smh
OP, how about a “No” to your suggestion from me too. Farming is part of gaming. This maps excels at it and should not be changed at all. Use the LFG tool and find the style of map you are looking for. For Pete’s sake there’s only 2 variables! Choosing between A or B is asking too much effort for you to choose from?
Or, this thread is really about greed and envy. The OP simply wants no one else to have anything good and so asked for it to be removed. Kinda trollish if you ask me.
Examples, how about “the Sims” and “Farmville”? Home instances should go that route. How the heck is it even an “home” instance when we can’t personalize it at all? And, the placement of the nodes within them are flat out horrid too. Come on dev’s be a bit more reasonable with this request.
No, they just need to tone burning down. Right now its just a tad bit overboard.
They need to tone down conditions across the board. The entire game needs a damage output nerfing. WAY too much power creep this year, way too much.

Your links contain no data other than a Red post saying something is changing. There’s is absolutely nothing more to it than that.
The population is determined in part by peak-load metrics
Having an over abundance of players for a 3 to 4 hours period per day should not automatically flag a server to full status. The “off peak” as you put it, should easily outweigh those couple of hours with a queue/s. Right now though, the population required to flag this “Full Status” appears to be set arbitrarily and set too low. Far below what it would take to fill all 4 maps, over a 24 hours period, with 60+ players playing for a couple of hours each. A well balanced server should have such populations to achieve that and not have such extreme highs and lows to create labels as “peak” and “off peak”. The only thing that should create general highs and low are the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Consider those high’s and lows as WvW’s circadian rhythm. Those the maps caps can be designed around.
A general design philosophy shift since the Mega Server system hit has been one of creating social cliques, instead of promoting larger World communities. I prefer a larger World Community because hey, the more the merrier, right? Anyway’s, larger communities become places where people can reside and be a part of with far less social/peer pressure than the cliques. Introvert’s, from my experience, do better in larger communities where they can blend in and be supportive from the back ground.
I said in a post earlier today that I feel the Dev’s are trying too hard to be antagonist. I honestly feel that creating drama is a part of the Anet design philosophy. Civility is rare enough in the world and in Tyria, it’s more so.
Oh, and how about a trait on Bow that proc’s more burning on auto attack? Warrior has such a trait on it Long Bow auto.
Karl, can we get a universal change to utilities and their targeting? How about a toggle on each traits, say for example shift +Mouse 2, that set’s them to either standard casting or ground targeting? I would be an easy change on the UI by simply having the targeting reticle or not. Then we can change the style of ground targeting still in our options panel. This would be amazing and create new situational forms of play. Especially to utilities like traps
dont expect them to tell you how to abuse the system.
Abuse of what exactly? The WvW map queues have always been the universal balancing mechanism, not server populations. As long as there is sufficient players to fill or nearly fill the Queues, then any amount over this limit will inherently have diminishing returns. To the point where players will transfer and move around on their own so they can get past the queues to play. Attempting to shrink and spread out server population thru limits, to the point where they eliminate hitting map queues, will cause nothing but more imbalance and more coverage issues. And, as I mentioned above, this will entice players to play an exorbitant amount of hours per week trying to compete. The whole not going to school, calling in sick to work, not sleeping for a couple of days, etc.
No, the Dev’s do not have the time and cannot replicate what a Worlds Community does. Though they can push a button and set arbitrary limitations upon them. The Dev’s should be working with a Worlds community to strengthen and help them. Instead, they seem determined to be antagonist.
Their algorithm looks at a variety of factors and all of them relate to WvW. There’s absolutely no reason to expect that a “full” server won’t have peak and off-peak hours; it’s not in the least surprising that you might not see anyone during off-hours.
They “say” they have an algorithm. They have not mentioned any of these “factors” either. After 3 years of WvW’ing, I take most statements from the Dev’s as nothing more than flowery words of sunshine and rainbows with little substance.
The “not seeing anyone” in a competitive environment is exactly what creates an unhealthy level of time invested. When the server population to man hour requirements of the maps are in healthy balance, there should not be any time where the maps are empty. Empty maps and the desire to win leads to excessive behaviors. If you WvW often you’d have experienced this behavior in others and most likely yourself too.
I would like to address a problem that may/may not be answered, and that is the problem of full servers. I do not know how some servers appear to be full, when whole guilds leave for other servers, and yet the server still shows it as being full.
Because it’s the Dev’s/Dev manually pushing buttons. I have no confidence or belief in the Dev’s on these population numbers. How can a server be full and yet, I can log in and run around a map with maybe 2 or 3 other people on it during off hours? That pretty much defines how poor the decisions on population control have been. What’s the worst about these lowered populations is that it encourages playing over time to a very unhealthy level.
OP, I’ve suggested from the start that they should add more content that inclined toward “Farmville” and “The Sims”. The dev’s can hold onto their E-Spotrs theme but, there’s for more casual players out there that like those other franchises. Giving them a reason to come play GW2 is just good business practices.
or play another game.
Awesome idea, I’m certain the Dev’s would love to know that the most likely solution to their player lockout is the game loses even more players.
btw… this arbitrary sever cap is far below what the map queues dictate our populations should be.
[Suggestion]:Return best burn to Ele/Tempest
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: DeWolfe.2174
I’d just like to point out that the Guardian should be the best Burn Profession in game.
probably be the same content as the last two years.
Except, we have a new Lions Arch. Sooo… I don’t see them working in the exact same content.
So many that I can’t accurately answer this right now….. I create characters with themes in mind. Heck, I have a Warrior just for running during Wintersday! He wait’s and holds all the Wintersday themed items and stuff.
Iv’e been checking AP’s often and do find a lot of new accounts. Though I’m guessing many of the new F2P accounts are being used by veteran players seeking that “new” feeling again. When I see an D/D Ele in a starter zone doing a good rotation, I pretty much know it’s not a brand new player I’m guessing the Dev’s correlate data to determine the actual player base form the multiple accounts many of us have now.
“Selfless Potion”, the irony is deep with this one.
I’d say there simply isn’t enough gratitude to manufacture more right now. Maybe come the holidays they’ll be a rich enough resource to produce more stars.
I suggested a use after the “Lunar New Year” event. I asked if our essence of luck could be crafted into Homemade Lucky Envelopes? Luck to Lucky, it just fits thematically right??? Since they were fun and unique, they could also be used to directly craft Lunar New Year fireworks. At least these changes wouldn’t effect the economy and create a supply chain for those items.
The evolution of Mawdrey to Legendary status sounds like a Mawdrey that would eat you! I ain’t strapping that thing to my back! no no no no no no no
My issues thus far have been losing the buff due to DC’ing and Mega Server map instances imploding.
