Additionally, standing in a cluster of guardians popping their blocks while burning everything around them is a tad disheartening.
See, this is my problem, the burn on blocking. Get rid of that crud and put burning on weapon skills instead.
Quick update, doing GoM again worked on two of my accounts thus far. Slightly ticked off that I’ve had to do this again. Did it enough times for the achievements, etc. Also kinda irked there’s no utility version of Nomads. Nor are either of these available from any other source than a regular Laurel vendor for 30 laurels. Though at least I unlocked them now. I actually posted and asked about these two weeks ago.
When completing the first episode “Gates of Maguuma” (not the replay) on an alt I unlocked both ascended nomad’s amulets afterwards. This thing happend to unbug this problem.
This is the current get-around AFAIK.
I’ll give this a try and see. If I can find an alt not bugged.
Mini Toxic Hybrid, hands down, the most annoying sound in game.
LB needs more burning added to it, period. If Warrior auto can proc burning, so should DH. Traps should have ground targeting to match consecrations. Those two things would help QoL as a DH for me.
AWESOME, now can we get better output from LB too? Seriously, LB auto should have burning like a Warrior has. We’re supposed to be THE burning profession.
A healthy man needs 8000 kcal(2000 kj) to hold his weight or 4800 kcal to avoid malnourishment. So a cucumber is basically just solid, dirty water.
Certainly, if the man was very tall and an extreme endurance athlete training 8 hrs a day. A regular male of average height, even with a pretty active workload, would have to weight near 400 pounds to maintain weight while consuming 8000 kcal. These numbers are double what they should be. Btw, Cucumber has medicinal and nutritional value. Everyone, unless allergic, should have a little cucumber each week.
Next up, “Standard Enemy Name” toggle…..
I’d be very interested to know the politics (Or ideology) of those who are entitled (Feel they should have raid rewards without doing raids) and those who are against them (raid rewards for raids exclusively).
I have a theory that I’m working on right now about various things regarding this subject (How people with different political views fall into separate categories on just about everything, and what political ideology says about you).
What we hate in others is more than likely what we hate in ourselves. If our self concept views a personality trait in others with abundance, that trait is more than likely in abundance within us too. Consider this before casting down upon others…..
do you see an uproar in the community of players complaining about PvP getting their own exclusive stuff? or fractals getting their own stuff?
Because that stuff is not desirable, that’s why. If it was, there certainly would be rage. Especially in sPvP as people would flood the mode and not care at all about sPvP in itself.
There needs to be a reward for doing Raids. Hopefully these rewards will be sellable. Otherwise, outside of trying to sell a path, they’ll be no reason for me to repeat the content.
Here’s to hoping Raid rewards aren’t screwed by being gated. Nothing would turn me off more than having Legendary Armor requiring 1,000 tokens for a raid. With something silly like, each successful Raid drops 1 token per day!
I have played the second beta and have found that defending the outposts at night time is a pretty simple task.
I’ve been having a hard time getting players to play the content and get the achievements as it is. When every round has maxed out T5 camps that survive the whole night, then we talk about it being too “easy”. I’m already concerned that this map will be a ghost town in a couple of weeks after launch. If the difficulty increases, I think it’ll only expedite the issue.

or you can’t manage cleanses so save your life… literally
If cleansing outstripped condition application, then no one would be running condition builds. Cleanses are not balanced nor equal across professions. Thus, calling for “cleanses” is not a universal answer.
Burn Guards are nothing next too other professions. Come to WvW and get 18 stacks of confusion on you in under 2 seconds from a Mesmer who was in stealth.
Ground targeting, in general, needs to have a toggle. For Guardians in particular, I find it annoying having consecration skills being ground targeted and Traps not be. Would rather right click on each utility in the toolbar and change it’s targeting method.
If you play with a class you know nothing about obviously is going to be really difficult
Yay, you figured out your own answer. Please stop complaining as this isn’t the final content. This content is to test (aka beta) and for new players to get their feet wet. Most players are trying something “new” to them.
Ok, so we’re in a new part of the zone from last time. Sooo…. I guess they left no entrance for existing beta characters. Which kinda sucks folks….
Same here, just logged into my Beta character from last time. Hoping to jump right back into Verdant Brink but, there’s absolutely no way to get back in. Nor are there Masteries viewable either in PvE, just a regular skill bar
Even new character from today can’t reenter once they leave the area! Not unless you finish the story mode to unlock the wp.

Please, Can We Just Fight Yet?
Fighting just to fight isn’t very interesting….
Just a heads up that these are still not being listed at the laurel merchant for those of us whom completed the story before you released the items. It’s like the anti-reward for doing the story the day you released the content.
Like Legendary Weapons, any other Legendary item should be tradeable on the TP. Otherwise, what’s the point of doing content over again? One and done should not be a design in raids. We should get rewarded for repeating content too. This is also how we all get to play any content in game and still have access to items. Multiple avenues of acquisition wouldn’t be required if everything flowed through the TP.
I bought another HoT expansion, the Ultimate edition this time, for the 4k gems to use on the sales. Unfortunately, I did not read that 72hr fine print and the gems never arrived in time. Luckily, I had some to gold to convert to buy some items but, not half what I wanted to. Guessing they’ll be another big sale come Wintersday. It’s only 3.75 months right?!?!?!
ugg…. a 3.75 month wait
With over 40 characters, I couldn’t imagine limiting myself to the mindset of a “main”? The character I run with is chosen by content, balance, and whim.
You either are matched with stacking burn guardians or eles with celestial stats. Its every match. Heres to another 3 years of unbalance.
And you all thought Turret Engi was bad for the mode
I PvP for fast dailies only. Otherwise, not much use or reason to play.
Yes, this is the sPvP forum but, please do come into WvW and then talk about balancing conditions. The conversation has to be brought in here though since the game is balanced around this mode only. And OP, don’t sweat the negative replies as they more than likely come from condi players. Obviously it’s not in their own self interest to be balanced.
while stomping everything like I was a lvl 40 in a level 1-10 zone.
Ok, I’m calling bunk on the OP’s entire story. First, he’s decided in just two hours from his first post that the games just not for him. He’s already complaining at lvl 9 which takes all of 30 minutes to get to. Then this quote, how would he even know what a lvl 40 would be like?
I call bunk, this is a mocked up story.
Pandaman already gave you the easiest way to multi-launch clients. As an avid GW2’er that loves to Multibox, let me give you a heads up. There’s a tiny player set that will bark, moan, and berate you for multi-boxing. Don’t let them bully you at all! Enjoy the challenge and excitement of trying to control two characters at once. I’ve even brought two into ranked and it was so much fail but, fun as heck!
editing to add: welcome to the wonderful world of account binding. You learn to love to hate it. Everything has to be bought multiple times.

Can we get Guild World Map instances of the zones please? I have no doubts the Mega Server system can have such a feature added to it. Could make PvE a lot more entertaining when it’s a Guild only map.
Pretty much if a guy is doing dodge jump all the time which in combat is impossible to do it every single time.
Wut??? I’m a mediocre player and I can dodge jump pretty consistently. Spacebar + V with the side of my thumb. Keyboards have a lot to do with player success. It’s one of those things where you have to find the right fit for you.
Lately it seems if something is unexplained, players instantly scream foul play. Instead of rationally trying to figure it out.
I do use WvW infusions as the reduced damage from Lords is substantial. Precision can be worth it to round up to a whole number. Say if you were at 49.2%, I’d put in some precision to hit 50%. Now if there was infusions for things like Boon Duration, Magic Find, Condi Duration, etc, those would be so worth it to me. Hot swappable Infusions would be a killer addition to the game. The gear grind / gold sink of equipment really took away from customizing.
Remember when we bought town clothes that we could mix and match? Then they became those cruddy worthless tonics
So many good skin pieces totally going to waste…
can we all group up in DR, sit in a circle and play our WH ?
Ministers WP is okplease make it happen
I found a dev yesterday and stood my Warrior next to him/her with the Warhorn set to auto attack. It’s time for the angry mobs of Tyria to hunt down every Dev in game until they relent and revert this horrible sound.
Are we killing WvW?
Just look at Jethro’s posts on here and the tin foil hat foolery and you’ll get your answer. Honestly though, “we” have been doing a good job at keeping the game mode GOING! Look at the bright side of it….
For #1, stacking is absolutely necessary. You can’t build a competitive World and community on wishful thinking. It takes a lot of work keeping the community organized and moving forward. That alone is what made the upper Tiered worlds what they are. We filled coverage gaps and minimized or eliminated queues to keep the community healthy. That’s something the Dev’s can never achieve through design alone. As the game aged and player attrition took place, everyone should have moved up if they preferred large scale combat. If ones preference is for the wilderness feeling of solo roaming, then staying on a lower tier’s as it’s the perfect fit.
It’s really not rocket science folks, as long as we have the ability to, we can make the most of the mode.
If you know of and can actually see the spy, then it wasn’t a very good spy at all. He or she should feel bad that they failed at even that then.
This wasn’t any kind of effect spying. Seeing as how you are referring to, I’m guessing the pin, as “MY JULIE!!!” then this was probably an internal server issue. Where someone cheesed off someone else and this video was the end result. As Synosius already mentioned, this was a very slow and inefficient way of killing a golem. This was slow and painful and was targeted directly at you OP. You folks have to work things like this out. If this person continues then of course Dev action should be taken.
I believe there’s not enough interest or general population for 8 tier’s and 24 worlds anymore. Having locked Tiers of descending map population limits would generate the best the mode can be. Off the top of my head I’d guess at 5 tiers with map pop’s of 75, 60, 50, 40, and 30, for the 5 tiers. This would allow players to find the best fit and community for their play style. I’d simply unlock and have free transfers for a month to let players find their way. Then I’d have a small fee, again a SMALL fee, for transferring afterwards. Because if you want a more refreshing and variable experience, then you want to generate player movement more than whole world movement.
Side note, the WvW population is probably 1/2 to 1/3 what the Dev’s believe it to be. Because many of us have multiple accounts on multiple worlds skewing any data the Dev’s have generated.
What… the hell… is THAT? I’m parking some Warriors with Warhorn set to auto near banks and busy area’s to get this reverted fast. Especially if we find Dev’s in game, we should surround them with Warhorns.

GW2 you are on fire!
More like burning, with stacks. Which is ok, maybe it’ll wake the dev’s up and they’ll nerf it finally.
which brings me to another thing, make anotehr cap, this one not a map cap, but a “total players in wvw” cap that would be lower then the sum of all 4 map caps. so people can float as it is needed, at least a 20 or 25 man group.
No, absolutely not. That’s not the LARGE SCALE combat I and many others enjoy. That’s why I say AGAIN, there needs to be Tiers with differing populations. This thought of, every server has to be minimized and equaled, has to die and die fast. A 20 or 25 man float group is nothing but boring.
Was thinking, wouldn’t it be nice to have a medium preset or even better custom presets for the Graphics options? Just having a low and high preset isn’t much.
So if some guild doesn’t raid or 2 guilds doesn’t raid during 1-2 days the population together with status can open up, get in some scrubcakes who can’t relie on new unstable system then it getting closed with MORE people in.
Naw some servers were, as the dev stated, WAY above the “full” threshold when they initiated these new rules. So they’ll likely never be Very High for months yet.
The dev’s have decided on some arbitrarily small WvW population target. So small that we’d all burn out and leave the game after having to play immense amounts of OT just to fill a map or two. Stacking a server was the solution to coverage and population issues. Because everyone’s equal when we all hit the map queue.
There’s simply not enough players to fill the amount of server’s. I can’t stress enough that there should be a low, medium, and high, when it comes to WvW populations and map population limits. Players have differing taste in WvW. A “one size fit’s all” game mode will never be more than mediocre at best.
This thread is gonna get locked faster than Porsche in the wrong side of town.
Just sayin…
Are you kidding, it’s a guild on Blackgate, the Dev’s love promoting Blackgate. Surprised they didn’t host it on the official GW2 twitch.
The ability to keep the buffs up and running requires constant clicking. Talk about a nag button!!!! With all the Quality of Life complaints in “Click Wars 2”, I’m surprised the Dev’s would make such a poor decision in changing the duration. The issues of hand health and how fast the game eats up mice and keyboards, I really am stunned the Dev’s would make something so demanding of clicks. Even with constant clicking, some buffs can drop to a few seconds left before they reapply. The duration of applied buffs is just way too short.
If it’s about eating up the Candy Corn supply, the Dev’s should have just increased the amount of candy corn per click to 4.
I’m just tossing this out there, the game is now using more CPU percentages than it’s been all year. I do not know what has decreased it’s efficiency but, I’m hoping the Dev’s lower the CPU requirements. Even with the HuD turned off, the CPU requirements are higher than previous builds. As far as I can tell, this is something within the past month.
If anyone knows how to lower CPU usage, beyond reducing graphic settings, I’d love to know.

I still completely disagree with a lot of the info and suggestions on here. For WvW to be healthy, the players have to be having fun, to be engaged enough, to be a WvW community. Forcing players to separate and force size and scale shows Anet’s lack of caring for communities.
The biggest difference in the Tiers functionally is the scale of combat. People on the top tiers prefer and enjoy the largest scaled combat available. Others like smaller scaled combat like 15vs15vs15. That’s why people are transferring to T3 right now. Trying to force players into a generic “one size fits all” scaling is full of fail. You’ll just end up lessening the experience most players are receiving. Unless you are in that Goldilocks zone of liking the middle.
I’m already starting to dislike specializations because of the Reaper. I don’t like having a weapon locked into a build. Reaper Shroud and GS should be split apart and chosen freely. I’m back to using Dagger’s and Well’s. Though I just made Vulcanus which is going to rot because I don’t like Reaper that much.
Please dev’s, calm the effects down by a factor of 5!!!! Trying playing against a couple of Dragon Hunter’s and dear God its utterly obnoxious. Think less is more on the effects please?
I caught a devious one earlier today. Must have been speed hacking to scout the north. Even with swiftness I couldn’t keep up with him. Meanwhile I had him targeted the whole time and he had no swiftness! Once he realized I was shadowing him then I saw swiftness icon pop. Later on I found this person using an AC and zoom hacking. You’d think a WvW player would have more honor and integrity for the sake of the game mode.
It doesn’t work like that any more.
The system is so full of fail I can’t even begin to say how utterly disgusted I am at it. How there can be no Q’s and most maps being a ghost town for an entire week and still be locked at full??? That say’s to me that this “system” is full of bunk. The dev’s say they don’t want us to play OT or take time off work during seasons, well…. that’s bunk! Even at playing 10 hours a day there’s no way to keep the maps populated.
I’m honestly believe that someone manually set the locked worlds to Perma Locked. That even if the system tried to open up a world, it cannot as it’s been overridden by this lockout.
