I’m running in Stronghold and Defensive builds are worthless. Even my tankiest Guardian just get’s eaten alive. Can we get some sense of balance between offense and defense? If you go all in for defense, you should be pretty much indestructible. Though, at the same time you should not be able to do much, if any, damage at all. This is what I would call a good “balance” in combat.
Anyone else think this offense is out of control? That fights lasting longer would be more enjoyable and skillful? That being able to tank up would be fun too?

Don’t care how good or bad they are, they are obnoxious in both sight and sound with those skill effects.
Trying to stack swiftness and it’s getting bugged and stopping to function. Specifically, Guardians staff #3 “Symbol of Swiftness” I find getting bugged easily. Please fix this….
Let me add that when those tablets move, it’s nothing but eye cancer. Now I know why they wear blindfolds now…
Even just for an evening it shows that Rev’s are going to be painfully annoying. It’s mostly from the visual effects from skills being spammed all over the place. Dev’s for the love of God, please tone them the heck down! Including the sounds effects for skills like that road.
It would be great if we could turn off ground targeting. Making it baseline saved us wasting a trait and all but, it’s not always warranted. In fact, sometimes it’s even a hindrance to have ground targeting. So how about in the options panel to have an “off” setting? So once again we can have it insta-cast at our feet.
Just going to put this here… This was after TC failed to Golem rush JQ’s Garri on Tuesday evening. Full keep supply burned and no help from the Dev’s for JQ. Going to have to change our name to BGQ or something to get anything out of them.

Oh, this is the second round of EotM this is happening.
The supply generators are getting stuck after a point to one color. On some, the vet doesn’t respawn. After a while they seem to but, even after killing them and changing the circle color, the event doesn’t complete. Even the spawn supply isn’t letting us grab any.
It’s a pretty big mess atm for supply.
3. Guilds need to be able to buy a commander tag that only guild members can see. This is “Guild Wars”, give guilds better tools to use to function as guilds.

ok, so how do I report an active siege troll on JQ BL??? TC just tried to Golem rush Garri and failed. Then they flipped NW tower and now a siege troll has burned 1300 supply on building trebs at the supply sheds inside Garri. Would like to know how to report this.

I love golems and can’t wait for the mayhem. btw, if you’re a WvW veteran, you should have tens of thousands of badges to spend on golems.
Eotm already has scorps and koda’s. So, Golems won’t make much of a difference in EotM.
Stop and think, this is a great way to get rid of the excess badges we have without screwing up the economy. Also, it’ll be fun!

Stealth on Mesmer’s is at an idiotic level right now, idiotic. If the Dev’s played WvW or cared about it in the slightest, they’d never had given so much stealth to Mesmer’s.
There should be a / mapinfo command that pings the entire map. Would be great if it also briefly illuminated all friendlies on the mini map.
On SFR we generally have 20 active, 20 waiting for a raid to start and 20 alt accounts from the opposition standing around taking up space…
This, this is so much BS. Who knows, maybe someone is hacking and burying the characters below the map even. Between this kind of bs and cross server guilds 2v1’ing, WvW is pretty much broken. We endure it because WvW can still be fun if played by the rules. Though ruined by all those dishonorable individuals who insist on cheapening the game mode.
I wouldn’t be surprised if there are way’s of gaming the Q system already. The team sizes certainly are not equal. More than likely there is some type of variability to keep the scores more even or something. Because if it was a static and consistent number, then Anet should have no problems stating it openly. Hiding it has always been extremely shady.
I don’t know why it would be so hard to get a tier to organize an event to get a shoulder count. It would only take 15 minutes or less.
There should be a Spirit Shard to hero point conversion in game. That would make the discussion irrelevant to some extent. Also, make those of us whom have a metric kitten ton of them happy.
For those of you saying to just level or just 80, that’s not a solution. I have characters at specific levels for specific reasons. I had stacks of SP scrolls I could have used on them. And, had characters with everything unlocked on them. That was all removed during this update. At the very least, the Dev’s should have been crystal clear on what was about to happen so players could protect the investments they’ve made into their characters. Now, they should give us the ability to “fix” what they broke.
Absolutely should have a reset ability to training. How this wasn’t included was being quite thoughtless of Anet.
I was expecting them to release swimsuits in GW2 as outfits this summer but im surprised that they havent yet. Its the summer! Lets have the option to wear a Faren speedo or Kasmeer bikini as an outfit for gems (id honestly pay 20 bucks for it easily). Just a suggestion

Heck yes I wish they’d make swim wear! So tired of everything outfit but, would buy an outfit if it was the only way. Every year we ask for swim wear and the dev’s don’t listen.

I didn’t see the screen shots before they were removed. Though if a player wanted to stand idle for 24 hrs straight, it’s still ok to do so.

The new WvW map are not a part of HoT. They are coming out around the same time frame but, are not in the expansion. Thus, any testing is and should be outside of any offer’s from HoT.

I believe they should let T1 get a crack at killing, I mean “stressing”, the server’s. No ones going to test it like we would.
The best tip is to harass the dev’s until they nerf Mesmer’s. They way over buffed them now.
I’d rather have the ability to turn off piercing though. Thinking about the Dev’s and some of their quirky Boss mechanics in PvE. What would be great to add baseline is a velocity buff. I’d even take a projectile velocity buff rolled into the “Unyielding Blast” trait. Now, as mentioned before, to have it transfer a condition on hit like Plague Blast too would be awesome. I love water combat on my Necro in WvW
editing to add, I wish Life Blast didn’t have the damage limitation at max range. We’re Necro’s, chasing people and keeping up with them as they run away isn’t easy

In hindsight, I feel that the Personal Story missed it’s mark. Not on the challenge of completing it but, on the content itself. Maybe the Personal Story should have been designed to be more of a cinematic experience? That the content should have incorporated and given more knowledge about combat itself, leveling, traits (now specializations), crafting and gathering, etc. Learning about the game would help make it interesting.

Have you tried the low level zones lately anyway? We’ve always been down-scaled. It was never difficult then and it sure isn’t difficult now. And no, there are plenty of people who do enjoy a challenge, so it’s not the least bit far from reality. There are plenty of people who just want to faceroll stuff too, and that’s fine, but you can’t deny there are different perspectives on the matter.
What’s the answer always given to players when they ask for PvE to be harder? The answer is always, where less gear! You have the choice in wearing maxed out gear or not. This discussion on the changes to level scaling is not even about perceived game difficulty, it’s about the raw stats. Stats that I paid a lot of gold to get. Not to have the Dev’s pull a bait and switch later on.
So I have been following this thread sense it was started and others and have been researching down scaling even started a thread on it myself with videos to explain it and I think this one I did explains this quite well check it out below.
You see even though we have all our traits and skills our characters are almost exactly equal with miner bonuses to those of equal level. I really am excited but at the same time I do not see why gaining stats through leveling should be in game anymore.
I watched your video and disagree with how “great” the scaling is. Also, I disagree that everyone “should be equal”. Because it’s a) not equal at all and b) a slap in the face for spending so much time and money getting Ascended gear. Lastly, as someone who’s loved making twinks in GW2, there’s way more to scaling than the discussion on this thread. If you think stats don’t make a difference, play more.
Editing: to add that the more I play around, the more I find out how wonky and uneven scaling is. Always disliked how crit chance drops and inherited weakness increases against scaled mobs. Aka.. glancing, glancing, glancing….

It’s pretty simple, I maxed my character and fully invested in Ascended gear. That should always place me amongst the most powerful players in any zone. Otherwise, my reward for leveling is worse performance? That I have to buy Ascended gear just to try and keep up my previous level of performance??? That kind of design is flat out absurd!

For the OP, yes I have to agree the Dev’s are trying to force play styles too much with this patch.
I’m trying to see the positive in this weeks changes but, having a very hard time doing so. This is especially aimed directly at the balance team. Combat in WvW is horrid now. Should we even begin to talk about condi Mesmer and Engi Nades? Heck, I was doing 5k burns before on my Engi, it’s too much. Power creep across the board has made combat much less fun. Two or three button presses can melt players. How is that fun at all??? This is the wrong direction for a game know for it’s great combat.
Dev’s, please get on the ball here and get to balancing. This weeks patch wasn’t close to being ready to go live. We’re not beta testers for you. Am I the only one pretty astonished there’s so many bugs and poor balancing?

How about condi in WvW which is nuts.
Players should know when to use and when not to use things in game. Using a bugged trait like this in a competitive game mode is bad form. So just don’t do it! I would use a lot more colorful descriptions of what kind of gamer you’d be for using this but, I already received my infraction for today
I am best EotM commander. Last time when i was commander we did defend FR keep over 3.5 hours. Didn’t leave keep at all because good commander always defend stuff.
So you imploded a map, wow how skillful……. I’m certain everyone on OG was bored as all heck as you trolled in the FR keep.
They are playing the game wrong. In any other game they would have been banned by now and this issue would be fixed!

This change was a disaster in my eye’s. There certainly wasn’t enough communication on exactly what was going to occur. I figured no more skill point scrolls would drop, no big deal. I already had a couple of thousand banked anyway. Now, I have my non 80’s that had everything unlocked with very little unlocked. I have thousands of these Spirit Shards with nothing to spend them on. Nor is there any way of converting them to hero points. What SHOULD happen is add a Spirit Shard to hero point purchase on Myani. Just add a 5th Bag on the left column below “Tomes of Knowledge” and labeled it Hero Points. Then we can simply take our characters there and exchange these BACK to something that unlocks utilities. As that is what I was storing scrolls for!
Nothing more fun than being #1 in Q for over an hour since reset. Only to have it bounce me to the back of the line. A whole hour wasted.
Anet, please fix the Q’s! Or, at least make it an account Q so we can do other things in the mean time.

Retal should be removed from the game period! It’s a kittenty passive that’s WAY too strong in zerg fights especially. On my Necro I just popped a couple of marks and wells on a zerg from the backline and took 37 hits of retal for about 10k damage. Not a single hit on me and yet, almost half my health gone?
no offense, but those numbers are perfectly possible even before the patch, so it doesn’t really have anything to do with the patch. To give you an example from my personal experience, this was like late last year, I had a full PVT guardian, with all the tanky trait lines as well. Full glass thief took me by surprise and spiked me for 36k damage in a split second.
Had to be lag or something else. No one is doing 36k damage to a PTV Guardian in a second. Seriously, the first pop is Aegis even.
For the OP, yes the power creep is absurd in this patch. Every live stream I’d ask “where’s the defense?” The darn dev’s made combat a troll’ish joke of who melts whom first. Nothing fun or skillful about this.
