Being as bat nuts crazy as you are, you should never have any GM powers.
Just say no to instanced content.
just say no to more entitled and egoistic behavior within the community thats supposed to be the best online gaming community and people who should be playing single player games with a difficulty slider instead of a MMO.
I highlighted the keyword for you, community. Instanced content for 5 players doesn’t build a community, large scale open world content does. And, asking for special content created just for 5 people to play IS acting far more entitled than asking for more open world content for everyone to play.
Just say no to instanced content.
Maybe Anet should make content more logical. Where completing an event is more profitable than failing it. For the players, choosing the most profitable path is logical course of action.
For the general whine over this or any player interaction, go find another layer then. You can log in and out of the character or use guesting to find another layer. If you don’t like what the majority of players are doing, find somewhere else where you like what the players are doing.
Immob is the issue and it needs to get the F out! The Dev’s need to stop coming up with ways to troll other players. There’s not enough condi removal to deal with the condi spamming as it is. HoT will introduce a whole new level of suck on this.
Yes, crafting recipes should be account unlocks.
Yes please!!! I’d love a toggle instead of pressing ctrl all the time.
Thank you Dulfy
I would MUCH rather have the map be an account unlock. I’m the the one experiencing the maps, not the pixels. Once done, I really have no desire to have to experience unlocking them over and over, again and again. Being force to unlock them in such a fashion is a tedious grind. I have over 40 characters so I’m well aware of how much of a grind fest it is. Those characters are spread over several accounts though. So I’d still need to unlock the map per account.
When it comes to account unlocks, the next issue is crafting. Recipes should be account unlocks, not character. If all the recipes in the game were readily available, I may say otherwise. But, when you feel you can’t reroll a character just for some recipes, that’s not a good design.
The best place for it is NOT in PvE, but rather in WvW.
Only if your map isn’t queued, right? If it is, then you actively preventing players from WvW’ing. Also, by taking up that slot in queue, you’re being a detriment to your server.
after about 30min someone zoned in while i was killing the ambients at the hut.
Why in the world would you just kill the ambients, when you could be killing Candy Corn Elementals at nearly the same rate? Weapon Master achievements and Maize Farming are perfect together.
In short: A-net don’t support Maize Balm farming
Of course the Dev’s are ok with it, they MADE the Maize Balm to begin with. They knew exactly what players would do with them too.
For the trolling conversation, there’s just a small group of players whom hate and despise other players. They’ll go out of their way to troll and grieve any time, any where. Eotm, WvW, sPvP, champ trains, World Bosses, Meta Event’s, you name it and it’s been trolled before. The mindset of hunting down other players to screw over and anger, that’s the toxicity needing to be dealt with. For the minor player interaction issues that appear from time, that’s simply a matter of courtesy and sense not being in abundance.
Do you have solutions for fixing it
OP, you are obviously slanted in your point of view from the start. By even sugesting there needs to be “solutions” and “fixing” you are deeming it broken. So how about this, you play the game as you want and we’ll play the game as we want. That’s what need’s “fixing” around here.
Two threads come out of left field about Bloodtide coast? This kinda has the marking of a hater just trying to get things nerfed. The OP obviously feels any kind of farming is “illegal”. Just look at what he wrote about irony.
calling me out like i was doing something illegal( the irony).
There’s nothing wrong with Bloodtide Coast. So please stop trying to troll other players there and here. That’s the type of toxic the community doesn’t need.
….“The Applied Fortitude and Applied Strength effects have been removed.”….
As soon as I read this I came right to the forums to ask “WTF is this S..T????” I’ll read the rest of this now but, wow I couldn’t believe they’d water down WvW like that.
Well the fix looks pretty good so far, and we’re on track soooooooo…
“supa soon” is all I am going to say here. If it fails last minute please don’t poison my coffee… I need it for life ._.
Don’t get too comfortable, poisoning is what thieves do best
nuuuuuu my coffee ._.
and you won’t even us coming… muahahahaha
5,2,2 and away
side note: at least we’re not stuck “living with it” for as long as the stealth on steal bug.
thoughts?
Disagree
You people need to be “Gibb Smacked” repeatedly. Of all things to complain about, geez….
Or, it’s a holiday weekend and they plan to go on holiday too? It’s a wild idea, I know.
I’m all for adding more to the home instances.
I don’t know that I’d ever want to use what you’re suggesting on a necro because it would destroy my interpretation of the character I’ve spent this long developing.
See, that’s the thing, where’s our choices? What I’m suggesting would allow us all to choose the theme we appreciate most. Though if we stick to just one interpretation and theme for each profession, we’re just limiting ourselves. Certainly we’ve all passed a Guardian with armor dyed dark, possibly Abyss, and with red flames everywhere. Is that befitting of a Guardian of the Light? No, that appearance doesn’t fit the theme of a Guardian at all. But, it’s probably a good indicator that this player would appreciate playing a dark Guardian of sorts. If there was a light and dark option in Specialization that player could have it. Instead, the player is getting a “Dragon Hunter” with a skill that has an Angel Wing looking animation??? I’m just going to leave this link here….
This isn’t a new suggestion actually, just a great use of specializations to create it. Think about how many Mesmer’s have asked for a different profession appearance than the purple butterflies. They like the skills and some of the concepts of the profession, just not the tone and appearance. Specialization could introduce more choices.

I’m looking at the Reaper and couldn’t help but wonder what could have been. Instead of giving us more of the same with the Necro, the dev’s had an opportunity to give us something special, something different.
A Necromancer is one of the Scholar professions. They learn to use and manipulate life force, right? Well I’m thinking, Life Force in itself isn’t about horror or death, it’s about life! I was wishing my Necro was going to be given a new light look and enhanced Life Force capabilities. Where “Death Shroud” was replaced by a light counterpart. Where “Life Transfer” literally transferred health from foes to allies. Where “Life Blast” was more literal and worked like the “Renewing Blast” trait does. The ability to wield and manipulate Life Force should be what a Necro is about too. Maybe the dev’s could have taken the theme toward, I don’t know, just something different. Call it a Valkyrie or whatever but, the Reaper just feels like more of the same ad nauseam.
Anyone else wishing “Specializations” did more to make our character’s feel like they’ve evolved? And, that professions had a light and dark counterpart for us to chose to explore with “specializations”?
Is this a P&D thread? One always wonders when there’s an economic question posted.
It is ruining the way I prefer the game to be played. I hate the fact that everyone will make so much more money than me.
Here’s the “tldr” it is in a nutshell. One counter to the OP’s counter is this, MOUNTS! Terrain speed is way to freak’n slow in this game as it is. Swiftness is an incredible nag as we traverse the zones. If anything slows or inhibits terrain speed further, then the demand for mounts will go thru the roof.
btw OP, nerfing the entire game and reducing the fun and enjoyment of the majority for the miniscule amount of dungeon runners is ludicrous!
Lucky if there’s even a tuft of fur left of Evon after Jory finds out he’s been profiting off her beloved sister’s passing. Selling cheap costume knock-offs of their family’s heirloom, such trash Evon is.
I just crafted Ascended Armor last night. Said the heck with it and put Traveler Runes in them. I know I know, I just lost 10% damage output but, Terrain speed is just to darn slow. I’m incredibly sick of being stuck with Signet of Shadows as well so, I said the heck with it. Otherwise, I’d have gone with Pack runes for certain. It’s a tough call when I’m swapping the armor between Ranger and Engi too.
I’ve curtailed my desire for this a bit but, I’m still at it. On my Feb 18th post, I said I was over 2k for each of the finishers from the ToT bags. I’m now at 5.6k and 5.3k for them. So I’ve opened twice as many as I had opened up to that point in Feb.
I like the idea of a scrap system that at least I can slowly build toward it. I also like the idea of it being outright tradeable. I never understood the reasoning behind it being account bound.
Meh, might as well just block them. It’s not worth entertaining such a childish conversation as you described. IF these players were any good they’d try to have an adult conversation on the subject. Besides that “Rotating” is probably the most kittenized term in PvP. There is no one single right way to do it.
but but, what about the poor Mesmer’s who haven’t realized the handicap we’ve all had while fighting against them?
Access to the Beta stress test received a lot of complaints. Greatest of them was the language and how it was not earned. In the end, the poor RNG distribution of these portals pretty much equals that of the Newsletter invites. When someone can get a Portal within 20 minutes and another not get one after 40+ hours, then nothing is really being earned at all.
Expecting complaints now that the Portal drops are being removed.
Staff 4/4/6 is the way to go
Perfectly sums up what’s wrong with balance. Proc’ing an adept trait for such high damage is utterly broken.
There are many forms of “skill” to possess. Unfortunately, in context to GW2 combat, the term skill mostly refers to the fastest pacing, quickest reaction times, and most button presses. I on the other hand much rather have a combat system and builds that reward a wider range of pacing. That favor more deliberate, patient, and thoughtful play. The dev’s speak of adding more counter play and yet, fights already do not last long enough to have decent counter play. A couple of seconds of back and forth between combatants is not valued counter play. For Hot, it seems to be bringing into the game even more offensive capabilities. So I do not believe Hot will be more “skill” based by my definition at all.
Editing to add that clone death builds should go. Confusion should be a CC and not cause damage. Retal should be outright removed from the game. Basically anything that rewards inaction should be removed.

If it’s not available to T1 NA for stress testing, then you ain’t stressing sheet!
Just give of access, we’ll break it, and then you can upgrade it.
I’ve encountered a single turret engi.
Yeah, I only played a couple of matches on my Thief today. Ran into one Turret Engi and I felt bad. Here he’s tossing down all his turret’s and getting ready fight a 2v. I popped Dagger Storm and wiped the Turrets in what seemed like only an a couple of seconds.
That was too painful to continue watching. I pulled the rip cord before 10 minutes.
but this lack of communication is a joke
Oh come on, the Dev’s sat there on live stream for what, 4 to 5 hours? All just to let us know and give feedback on what they are considering doing. That live stream was them saying, “Hey how about this?” and giving us all equal opportunity to give feedback. That was A LOT of communication with us. Certainly we all had an opinion, either it being liked or disliked, on some of the ideas and concepts. But, come on, being up front and communicating with us like that was great.
For PvP breading toxic behavior, yes it does. Take a deep breath and remember it’s a game. Also, it may be wise to consider the other players in the match. If someone absolutely rekt’s you in a match, why not be happy for them and give a “GJ!” afterwards? I know I’ve whispered afterwards telling someone their build is insane to fight and some other compliments. Of course, smack talkers tend to get either blocked, put in their place, or both. I’ve actively hunted for a team and/or solo players just to try and gank them a match or two later . It’s part of the fun
Might as well share what my lil Asura named “Dirty Turrets” was running. I called it my “Boom’n Boon” build because I was sharing all Boons but Aegis, with almost 50% up time. I tried it out post patch and it’s dead.

I was running a cele bomb build with turrets. From the Bomb Healing, boon sharing, mass regen, and the high level of CC’s, it was as supportive as it could be. Of course the fields and blast finishers gave it a lot of usability. In contrast to popular belief about turret builds, what was great about my build was that it really shined when played hyper actively.
For now, the build isn’t faring well at all. Which is all a mute point really since Bomb Healing is being completely removed from the game anyway. “Experimental Turret’s” is worthless now that turret’s have no sustainability. Even if I were to put the turrets outside of harms way, they’d also end up being outside of boon sharing range.
People may think what they want about Turret builds in general but, I’ll continue to believe mine was good addition to PvP. At least my build had to get Dirty and melee. It’s sad to see such a build lost to the Meta. Let’s all nade spam, yaaa’aay……. <yawn>

The game is a platform. What players do with the platform is up to them. Therein lies the problem with PvP. Players can be friendly, considerate, and thoughtful. Or, they can choose to be the opposite. Which unfortunately players choose to be the opposite too often. I’ll put Anet to task on some design issues but, the players themselves have to take responsibility for the atmosphere too.
For Blu leaving, I wish him well and thank him for being here. Hope to see him here again soon.
The game is designed for those who only like posting big numbers and getting fast kills. The pacing is twitchy, jumpy, and frenetic for the highly ADHD and overly caffeinated lot. You will not find thoughtful counter play and a lot of thinking in that kind of designed environment. It’s why damage output and offensive skills far outweigh defensive skills. I don’t see this changing any time soon. I’d be stunned if they created another fun bunker build ever again.
Of all my accounts, only my one in the beta stress test got this gift. I also bought a second “Deluxe upgrade” on this account during the 75% off sale. Just for the Heroic Armor since it wasn’t originally available on the deluxe accounts.
I’m just happy to get this “gift”. I’ve been about ready to punch the monitor after farming the Silverwaste for over 30 hours this week. This kind of evens the books a bit.
Nice, TY Anet! Guessing they are just surprise gifts.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Boost_Enchantment_Powder
Now you only have about 9 bank slots used. Since it’s not worth using on some boost, other boost it doesn’t work on at all.
Burned thru a Birthday Booster so I’m obviously over 24 hours trying to get this. No luck yet.
OP, if you are under the zones level, the mobs WILL aggressively aggro onto you. It’s done purposefully to keep players out of zones they aren’t ready for. I took a level 20’ish to Cursed Shore during last Christmas. Mobs would lock on from extreme ranges. Luckily I had a thief escort who plowed the road of all the mobs.
Yup, a nice item trashed by the horrid system to obtain it. Least they could do is introduce the Reward Tracks a couple of times a year. There’s plenty of Christmas in July type sales, etc. No reason why not to really.
The best idea s to make it account bound! There’s several account bound exotics to warrant this item being one too.
a viable burst
Because that’s all this game needs, more burst builds…..
smh
The level of ego and crud talk in this thread is why so few PvP in this game. It sucks the life and fun out of the game more than any build ever has.
no worries, i’ll just grab the ground target trait and throw them to impossible to reach locations XD
(ontop of pillars is a good spot!)and yes…this is the next thing they need to fix
i was going to to say that myself
They said Ground targeting will be baseline didn’t they? So Flying them will be gone but, tossing them against things will still work. BUT, half the time they don’t even fire when placed up on things anyway. A couple of weeks ago they really started acting up.
I really despise the Mini Toxic Hybrid. It’s incredibly loud and obnoxious.
I could live with others, but this pest makes me rage.
First of all it sounds like someone is clearing his throat and then spitting it out.
Then it’s extremely loud for any mini and its obnoxious noise carries far and then it repeats every few seconds.I wish there was a hack for this, like sweetfx or smth, to cancel out this riddiculous nerve wrecking noise.
For months I honestly thought it was a new sound effect for Charr’s. It sounds so much like a Charr trying to clear a hairball. Good God when standing at one of the major banks when this sound goes off, right?
I really despise the Mini Toxic Hybrid. It’s incredibly loud and obnoxious.
Turrets played by Sentinel stat full bunkers disappear.
simply not based on full selfish tank-mode
There are those of us who DO NOT play that Turret build. There are those of us, at least I do, try to eek whatever team support we can. Those builds are getting hit by this change too. Of course, I know I’m in a minority when JP say’s no one uses that on the AMA.
They may have differing names and differing graphics but, the actual feel and pacing of combat is getting reduced. So small in fact that it could fit inside a Cracker Jack box. Figuratively speaking of course.
