These changes are effectively removing Turrets from PvP. Turrets have far too small an HP pool for changes like this. The logical course of action for Engi’s is to get them out of harms way now. Just expect it…

Just going to leave this here… Show playing turret engi while actually tabbed out of the game and reading the forums.

While in Hotjoin or Unranked and only get’s one roaming thief to fight. This is a great example of nothing….

It is poorly designed but not because of the reasons you listed. They need to put in quickly escalating time bans from rated spvp for disconnects over the grace period. I had two this weekend were people left at the beginning of the match and never came back. That sort of thing should be punished with a day ban.

This is why I pretty much refuse to party any longer. Utterly sick of getting -3 because I accepted a party request and then someone I don’t even know dc’s, rage quits, or simply leaves just to be obnoxious. When winning mostly earns a single point, losing three points is just too costly to risk teaming up.

Lol. style doesn’t want to simply balance a class he wants to kill it.

Of course, it’s not their profession so they want it killed off. Most of the complaints on here are from players with little to no experience as an Engi. They get rolled by a better player on an Engi and instantly blame the profession and build. Since the alternative is a realization that bruises their ego.

btw, for the healing turret complaint, please learn math! Healing per second on an Engi is far lower that other professions.

If you think turrets are broken, then play it. Make more people rage about it and post on the forums. The more people realize how cancer it is, the better. All those people who think turrets are easy to beat, they haven’t met an organized turrets engi team. They think that TS and rotation gonna beat it. That’s not gonna work if the turrets engi also have TS and good rotation.

Play it, make more people cry, and one day ANet gonna fix it. Maybe one day…

I really think the players complaining bring more negativity and cancer than any build in game. We all have an equal opportunity to play any profession and build in game. If you chose to play an inefficient build and/or choose to remain ignorant of said builds, that is user error. Of which, the developers and the GW2 community should not be held responsible for.

OP, you were more than likely beaten by a superior team of players. You had a bad day, we get it.

While I don’t think the OP’s suggestion is exactly the change we’re going to go with, I thought I’d drop by and let you all know that the effectiveness of turret engineer is something we’re looking into very closely right now. Once our plans are a bit more concrete I’ll give an update.

If Turret builds get nerfed, expect whine/rage post about every build in game Josh. It’s a slippery slope to walk along. Look how people started piling on other builds already.

Meanwhile, there is nothing AFK about a turret build, nothing! Tron, I’m just as active if not more so than you in that condi thief video of yours. If you think it’s fair to be able to hop into a node, drop caltrops, and hop out you’re being completely disingenuous. Turret’s don’t have condi clears. So you are basically asking for an “I WIN” button. Not to mention every Shoutbow can continue to burn the entire area without consequences.

I do not know how to find out how many achievement points someone has. But it looks like the 3 guys were new.

Simply add as a friend or block them, then check your contact list. On the right hand column you’ll see the players AP.

I’m half wondering if the players are new or just new troll accounts. The way scoring appears to actually function on the leaderboard, a troll player could tank the score of others. With blowouts either giving +1 or -3, it would be easy to reduce the leaderboard totals. There’s simply no other reason for someone to sit at spawn or leave a match from the start.

Speak for yourself. As a Necro I even let myself get downed against especially slippery Thieves when I can’t catch them just so I can kill them with downstate in wub. With PvE stats and Fire Salsa I can get my 1 skill to hit for 1.4k and it hits about 2 times a sec. This means you dun goofed when Chill of Death proccs or when Fetid Ground is up.

Downstate #1 on my Necro can also proc fire and air sigils and maybe even spinal shivers trait. So it can hurt an enemy extremely. Most professions I’ll let bleed out but, Necro, Rangers, and sometimes Mesmers I do not.

For Shadow Refuge, a couple of times a nice thief has used it on me out of the blue. I’m downed and focused on machine gunning away at #1 looking for a rally. I’m going way too fast to stop in time before I break the stealth. We’d have to be in voice comm’s and call it out to prevent such a thing.

I have a 60% winrate over 110 games or so from solo queuing on the current leaderboard. Even my losses aren’t complete blow outs for the most part. Wouldn’t say I’m a masochist.

Think it is time for OP and others to stop and take an honest look at what they’re doing in game or how they’re contributing to their teams, and your builds and classes (some classes just don’t carry well). Maybe record videos to get feedback. There are supposedly elite players who I have seen do the most dogkitten things in games and lose a lot of games when they don’t need to.

Exactly this! I’m usually in the upper 50’s to near 80% win rate per day. Then I log in and get those days where the game say’s “GO DIE IN A FIRE!” and my win rate is 31-33%. Which is funny because it happens every 4 or 5 days on a cycle. It’s too odd and specific to not be something. On Wednesday it started again and I just played thru it, as any good Masochists should, just to break even for the night. After 300 matches on the current leader board, I think it’s enough to notice “odd” matches.

Necromancer: Consume Conditions.

It is arguably one of the best heals in the entire game, it brings a full condition removal without giving up any vital utility skills/weapons/traits. Basically every single build runs it, and even if our other heals weren’t garbage it would still be a viable option in basically every build.

Now only if the cast time wasn’t horrid! It’s the most annoyingly laggy heal in game.

Yeah, I’m hit with a full hundred and a Kill shot without animations. I have zero clue what the heck is happening. Even Arcing slice was hitting for 11k. Which, I’ve never seen it hit that high.

What the heck is this broken GS/Rifle build I’ve seen now twice today? It hits tremendously hard and the worse part is it’s doing a full rotation in a blink of an eye. Literally, I see whirlwind and that’s about it and I’m dead. I look at my combat log and there’s this huge list of hits that had no animations. It doesn’t make any sense at all.

Anyone have any clues? I’m going to turn on recording so I report if needed.

Yup, whatever happened with yesterday’s beta, it seems to have screwed up today’s matches. I’ve had several 4v5’s tonight. Best one was a solo Q’d 4 vs 5 man premade. It’s like seriously Dev’s???? I should get leaderboard points for just entertaining/enduring such crud.

To be honest, I don’t know wtf is going on today’s match making. I usually have an above 50% win rate. Yesterday I went 70% for 10 matches. Now today, it’s utter blowouts and losses. I’m at 8 losses in a row as if the game’s match making decided “screw you” today. Completely abnormal and makes playing feel horrible. I’m looking at my GW2score record and there’s certainly a pattern of win, win, win, DIE! DIE! and then cycles. Maybe it’s whom I’m matched with, I don’t know.

Over the past couple of days I played 44 ranked matches with a 59% win rate. I made 11 points on the leader board total. Now today, I just had three losses in a row. First one had a salty player on my team complaining most of the time. Then the 2nd was a close match, which is fine. Then the third was an utter blowout. This person on my team started complaining right after we loaded into spawn. Then proceeded to prance around spawn the whole time complaining. These two matches are more than likely going to wipe out almost half the points from the previous 44 matches! WTF Anet, WTF???? Stop punishing player for trolls and things that are out of our control.

Anet needs to learn to reward time and effort! I did a quick PPM (points per match) on the top 1000 on the leader board. You have some players earning double the points of other players per match. More than likely it’s due to the sever penalty’s from blowout’s, DC’s, and trolls.

About troll’s, all I can say is, this ladder system is WAY too freaking punishing. One troll can basically cost any of us 3 points in one match. It’s more than likely we’ll only get 1 point per win. If we have a 50% win rate, which we should have about, that’s 6 matches or well over an hour lost to one troll in 5 minutes. It’s just flat out wrong that this can happen.

Btw, I’m talking about players whom rage quit at the start of a match. Or, players whom outright say they aren’t going to contribute and prance around spawn the whole match. There are simply some serious troll’s in ranked. Probably just bought extra accounts to tank everyone else on the leader board.

Since there is no way to prevent 4v5’s from happening, how about an NPC or buff to aid the outnumbered team? Seriously, just now in Stronghold the score was 745 to 10 because it was 4v5 from the beginning. There’s no benefit, at all, in staying in an outnumbered match.

Completely agree, going against Premades is ridiculous. Just fought a group that was at minimum a 4-1. From appearances, all were rank 80 from the Dragon finishers. So we had solo Q’ers with mixed ranks going against a Premade.

My major complaint is blowout matches and how easy it is to lose points. A couple of blow outs can destroy a couple of hours worth of progress.

No, I said that having taken on an already established Turret Engi on far, with a Turret Engi was the most fun I’ve had this week. It was also the most gratifying fight in weeks. Since we were equally built, beating the other player required more skill and timing than going against any other build in game. Especially when we must have went at it for a couple of minutes.

Not alot is fun to fight against in this game.

That’s why I say Snowball Mayhem is actually the best PvP in the game. It simply is the most fun 5v5 PvP available. The skills themselves and the animations are fun.

Speaking of Final Fantasy, most of them are all visually stunning. FFXIII is an especially gorgeous game. I really wish those in Anet Art Department would play and be inspired by it. GW2 is still way too dark, grunge, and goth for it’s own good. I look at the new wvw maps coming out and wonder, why would I be fighting for this cruddy place?

I don’t care what the kitten you wanna say about them being OP, easy to counter, not easy to counter, whatever. Simple fricking matter of the fact is. This is just unfun to fight/play against.

The most unfun profession to fight against is certainly Mesmer. Even thieves don’t compare to the “unfun” value as Mesmer’s. There is simply nothing fun about fighting a Mesmer at all. Give Engi’s a “Turret’s on dodge” trait and see how much “fun” it is.

One of the most fun matches this week was going after a Turret Engi. Nothing more fun than decapping, capping, holding, and defeating a Turret Engi, with a Turret Engi. Because the more a fight is protracted, the more precision and skill is required to win.

I just received the case and some components for a new build for a friend. I’ll be buying a Corsair Professional Series AX760i 760 Watt power supply this weekend for the build. It’s pricey but well worth it. Especially when you consider how much one could spend on replacement parts. For you OP, it was all the replacement video cards. Making the extra initial cost well worth it.

For the person above, I never has an Asus board fail on me yet. I just purchased on for the new build too.

For game settings, I always recommend using the 60 fps frame limiter too. I see no reason for going above that. Having it limited saves electricity and reduces heat. Which both reduces wear on internal parts.

I’m mostly referring to the minus 3 point system. Even if we party up, the best we can earn is 1 point on the leaderboard. If one person leaves, we lose 3 points. The reward for being in a party just doesn’t outweigh how punishing the -3 points are.

For example, gaining 3 points takes me an average of 6 matches since I have a 50% win ratio. Yet, in one match I can lose 3 points. All for accepting a party request and having someone leave the match or dc. That seems terribly unbalance and rewards playing solo more than anything.

The question is, why should we ever join a party/team if we can lose points on the leaderboard so severely from someone else leaving or simply dc’ing? Why are players punished even if they played through an entire match outnumbered? The risk versus reward of being in a party is too great to justify being social and partying up. Isn’t that bad for the game?

What does everyone else think? Should you lose points because of my participation? Should I lose points because of your participation? Or, should the system be based on the merit of an individuals participation?

You realize an expansion is coming out, right? That this expansion will change everything in PvP. Thus, I don’t expect the Dev’s to spend any time working on what we have now. Besides, you have all three points and are winning the match. So I still do not see how “OP” Engi’s are.

Though I will say that this mid air thing is cheap and shameful. To be honest I’m having a hard time seeing where the jump point was to even have placed these.

If it helps OP, there are times where Rocket Turret bugs and doesn’t fire at all. This is when putting points toward properly traiting for ground targeting. You’ll toss it against landscape as it should and just sits there useless. Most don’t even notice because we’ll detonate it fast to get it off CD.

Though I do bark at players doing the floating turret thing in a match.

Then after turret Engi’s, what’s next? You’ve been raging like a crazy on the forums over a build you just rolled two days ago. So basically, all the previous complaints was from having zero first hand knowledge and experience. If you raged less often maybe reader’s would take you more seriously.

Run it for a week and you’ll see how the build flat lines. It’s a good entry build that has good pacing. Which is the only build with such pacing on a profession that otherwise has very frenetic pacing. Without this build, many probably give up on Engi’s too soon. They are probably one of the least used professions in game.

Been playing with this trait today too. It can certain use a buff for a GM trait. I’d say at minimum it needs a 25% increase in base. Scaling I’m uncertain of as I haven’t pushed it that far yet.

I barked at someone in ranked last night for doing this. We know it’s possible though we all should know this isn’t intended. On a technical standpoint, to get turret’s out of reach we have to sacrifice and put two points into tools for “Deployable Turret’s”. The floating bug allows players to get them out of reach without having to trait for it. That’s why I say it’s not intended.

From my point of view, I do not know if it’s cele or the capacity of those professions to stack might that is the issue. Remove that capacity to run that much might and they’ll balance out without touching cele amulet itself.
