The worst part of PvP is exemplified by the last Ranked match I was in. Right after the jump two on my “team”, I was solo Q’ing, left the match and stuck us with a 3v5. I kept trying hard so we can at least get the score to maybe 200 or 300 points. We already had over 100 and was hopeful we could do it. Next thing I know the remaining two on my team are just standing in spawn waiting for the match to end. I asked in map chat if anyone in the match isn’t playing for the leaderboard. They all said they weren’t! Some didn’t even know Ranked matches count for points on the leaderboard. Oy vey……

There’s nothing more annoying than getting stuck with a -3 and being completely helpless to do anything about it. That’s the past couple of hours erased in 5 minutes. THAT makes me not want to play.

With all the “reasons” given for why Turret Engi was/is a bad build, how does Pew Pew Rangers not teach a similar bad behavior? This past match the enemy teams top personal scorer was a Ranger that camped LB the entire match. That’s all he did was sit behind his teammates at max ranger and pew pew away. He probably looks at that score and believes he’s contributing the most.

Even I don’t like these Premades. Last night I found one of the biggest complainers on the forums about Turret Engi running 3 in their group. Flying Turrets in ridiculous fashion no less! Before that another Premade of 5 I fought twice. Luckily, these trollish premades are few it seems. They are easily beaten if you know what to do as the video shows.

Anyways, I’ve been experiencing an odd sort of lag or out of sync. Where my character still moves and everything seems fine, then BAM!!! insta-dead. I look at my combat log afterwards and see about 5-10 attacks that never appeared on my screen. Just had it on my Ranger actually. A Necro Lich’d and I hit GS #4 counter attack. My character was blocking without the counter kick. I’m like “Yeah Baby!” then then next thing I see is my character downed. It’s been happening the past couple of weeks.

For me, Condi shatter is one of, if not the worst, build in game. If any build deserves to be removed from the game, it’s that one.

Why? You just putted yourself at OP’s level.

Because I’m not even going to list how poor this game style is. Being mostly a WvW player, I’ve seen far more of this build than in sPvP.

Grab reflect and let them eat the rapid fire,or they knock themselves back,or you can steal their lb 3 stealth which is the most fun imo.

Because every build has reflects that are viable and have 8sec cd?

LB Power Rangers need toning down. I’m against high burst builds period.

Tell to that to your engie class, what do you get for the changes? A lot of good stuff right?

I wish rangers were also meta like your engies. You wish to tone down a class that is not even a part of the meta? LOL.

If the range was 1200 and you could be equally hit it wouldn’t be as bad. But, Rangers can get terrain advantages and simply camp LB from safety. That situation has to go bye bye. Then remove some of the vulnerability too. Applying 15 stacks in a couple of seconds is too much as well.

btw, I have 3 Rangers as well. I’m simply stating what needs to be toned down for balance.

If any build needs to be looked at next, it’s pew pew Rangers. Being able to camp LB from an advantage point most of the match shouldn’t be a thing. At least Warriors are getting on point.

Noticing they moved Turret traits and some Healing traits around on the trait lines. I agree with Turret being on the Inventions line. That just sounds like a solid definition of an Invention. Though shouldn’t healing traits be in Alchemy line? Just the sound of it, healing and Alchemy go better together to me.

Elixir infused bombs on the other hand was something truly unique and interesting and most of all, incredibly fun, if only the developers had ever given it some love so that players would even try it out.

No becuause they are to involved with making an expansion to please investors then fixing things that would please the consumer.

This consumer is very pleased with my Turret Engi build, very pleased indeed. I can’t even play it as often as I would like because of all the whiny kids today. It’s not even the triple turret build people complain most about. People see a single turret and they instantly go all Jersey Shore guy meme.

these nerfs need to happen <3 not because I think turrets are op or underpowered, I do not care for that argument. Turret engis are just amazingly not fun to fight, especially for new players.
I know so many players that tried pvp walked into a few teams that had turret engis on them and do you know what they said ? They said man meow this I’m done its not fun to get beaten by ai. If you get beaten by a better player that’s fine often you get to see some swanky stuff they are pulling to beat you and the reaction is actually positive in your head. Getting beaten by ai is nothing but frustrating. I’m sure some one (if any one replies to my post) will say but rotations! That beats turret engis.
I am only talking about the new pvper experience here. This build fundamentally makes that experience less fun and thus we lose potential members of our pvp community :’(.

New players wouldn’t even know what is or isn’t AI or Passives. I’m pretty certain getting ganked by any burst build is going to turn off new players more than anything. Thieves and Mesmer’s have been inducing rage since launch.

Every server is different. Even within the server there will be exceptions too.

The only general consensus is that blue is the main map pin as it always was. I’m hoping they add another couple of colors soon though.

I am a player who likes to tinker with builds and also enjoys a bit of self-harm. So, I run with a 2-3-3-3-3 mesmer build who dies every time a friendly NPC sneezes near him.
Will I be able to run with my suicide mesmer build on the new system?
If not, I WILL LEAVE THE GAME FOREVER AND NEVER LOOK BACK GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD!

Devs: We’ll miss you!

Me: But you don’t have to lose me, all you have to do is leave me with my self-harm mesmer build and…

LOL! I too can’t help but see this as being worse than the N.P.E. changes. The majority of my builds do not use GM traits but, multiple minor and major ones. I also rarely max out lines but spend points across multiple ones.

As someone with several accounts and over 40 characters, I’m concerned how much these potential changes may fubar everything I’ve built since launch.

Also a big one is, superior siege creation without skill points.

It’s STILL GOING TO TAKE A FREAKING LONG TIME TO KILL SAID ENGINEER. You literally need 2-3 people to quickly kill the turret engineer

In my last ranked match of the night, I repeatedly wiped an over reaching Triple Turret Engi. He kept back capping our home and I killed him in under 15 seconds or less 1v. This was on my Thief since it’s the daily. Even on my own Turret Engi build, I have no issues pushing off and killing a Triple Turret Engi. If you noticed that I keep referring to them as Triple Turret Engi’s, that’s because there exists more than one build. This short sighted discussion of THAT build is going to nerf all other Engi’s who use a turret. And, there should be those of us that actually try to USE a turret or crate beyond the simple Toolbelt skills.

sigh, You can’t farm games in ranked while being AFK. Go ahead and try, let’s see how you do with that. The mostly likely result would be the thing getting farmed is you.

I just ran my thief for a few matches since it was the daily. It’s still a slower pacing and less frenetic than on my Turret build. In my last ranked match alone I wrecked a Turret Engi 1v several times. It took only a matter of maybe 8-10 seconds to do so. The Engi kept back capping our home and failed to hold it even with all his Turret’s in place.

No matter if it’s done by trait or by jumping it still requires the same ranged or AoE technique to destroy the Turrets. So there really isn’t much impact on game play. The issue as I see it is the false reporting. Especially when you are fully aware you are making false accusations of botting.

With the Hover Turret’s in the HoT trailer, I’m assuming Flying to be how Turret’s function in the future. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Dev’s had this planned for a long time. Only implementing some of it early, the incoming damage nerf, because of the forum complaints of late.

This might actually be a buff to Celestial Rifle turret engineer because the best use for the turrets seems to be the death knock-back which will happen very quickly after the change.

Yes and now that puts even more importance on a single trait. Which for my build, actually isn’t viable so <insert faux rage> I’m salty! GRrrrrr…… Anyways, Engi build diversity is really becoming non existent.

OP, you are more than likely falsely reporting players then. For Turret’s, Ground Targeting has always allowed us to place Turret’s on or against objects. Learn to target and range Turrets. If you have no range option in your build, then kindly unscrew your build.

The more I read, the more I see players with little to no experience being a Turret Engi in Ranked matches. All they know is they get knocked around and instantly assign blame. Just had a player whom complained and thought the CC was AI driven. I just sighed and continued playing.

As I said before, this make turrets disposable. The Turret build and it’s traits are dead. Now it’s either Cele Engi or no Engi at all. Even my Bomb build that I’ve been running with Turrets is dead. Thumper is only 12k hp and it’ll get nuked down in seconds. The only thing that could be useful would be to trait for “Accelerant-Packed Turrets” and drop turrets just to proc the trait. Which certainly isn’t good enough of a trait to be of used.
