Truly sad news. Though the Living World is a great idea and one that’s been working really well. We’re all still here playing are we not???? Also, whom said they are “switching” to expansions only and discontinuing the Living World? All they’ve said is that it’s on hold as the priority is polishing and finishing the expansion. Anyone have links to something else on the subject?
I’ve done Arah story the past 5 or 6 day’s straight. It’s certainly possible to find a party. The only one I had to wait until the next day on was CoE story. Though I did HoW story instead on another needing it.
If it’s on you, then just hide the back piece. If it’s on other people, use the basic character models.
So players whom don’t like the back piece have to have their video settings set to suck globally? I think there’s a better solution than that. Certainly a more granular approach to it. Especially when a lot of the “immersion” breaking discussion comes from back pieces specifically.
This conversion falls on deaf ears. It’s like the constant community feedback on hobo sacks. #NoHobo2013, #NoHobo2014, #NoHobo2015
As I usually say, I’ve always believe items should be introduced into the game and stay available to everyone at any day of the week. There can be special hoops to jump through to obtaining the items but, there should be some avenue to getting it. This would curtail any capacity to “corner” a market. Also, items should be available to new players. Especially when they’ve been putting the game on deep discount to bring in a lot of new players.
Black Gate is of the top tier, I personally don’t suggest WvW at low levels but BG is where most of the WvW is at.
Take a look at this http://mos.millenium.org/na/matchups/
The ones at the top are where you’d want to go. (under the prediction ranking part)
Of course, if you look at that link, look at the server history. There you will find Jade Quarry is still the #1 gold medal winning server in NA. Devs are biased
That ‘leave guild’ button absolutely should not be beside the other button to stop repping. Leaving a personal guild that has no other members that can bring you back in can be devastating to your finances.
I agree with this. They should put the “Leave Guild” at the top or something, or at the VERY LEAST, make it so the 2 buttons are further apart.
Considering the Dev’s are well aware we use some guilds for banks, they should firstly give use more capacity to join Guilds. 5 Guilds certainly aren’t enough to join and have as banks. For leaving the guild, there should be a multi-step process to protect players.
Heck, I don’t know why we don’t have a Warehouse feature built into the game for storage. A horder like me really really wants one
Guild housing is coming. You can have a one person guild. Housing is coming!
Yet, most of the items and build outs will more than likely require guild commendations. As such, it’ll remove any possibility for personal and family guilds to really enjoy such a feature. Unless they made a gold/gems conversion for them too. I really don’t understand the logic of guild commendations to begin with. The place a guild as a higher priority than worlds. Which should be what the communities are built around.
Even with 16,000 viewers that’s less than half a percent of the the number of GW2 copies sold. So the impact will be negligible at best. While watching the video linked above, I can’t help but ask myself why anyone would send this person things? He’s probably wealthier in real life than the sender’s.
I despise the entire soulbind mechanic. I really, truly hate it.
Amen to that. Rather just get rid of soulbinding completely.
Basically going for a list of cool mini pets that you would enjoy seeing/having in game! (that will be hopefully added as the models are already done, just gotta shrink them) Personally I would love to see mistfire wolf as a mini. (scaled at about the same size as the mordrem teregriff mini). Anyone else have a specific one you would love to see? If so have a post a picture of it too! Lets see what kind of cool pets we can see! =P
As someone whom owns enough deluxe accounts to border on needing an intervention, I’d be completely ok with the Mistfire Wolf becoming a mini.
accidentally pressing my Windows button.
On my last keyboard I became so annoyed that I physically removed the Windows key from it. The keyboard I’m on now doesn’t have one thankfully.
Do you guys misclick in fights?
Does a bear ……. …. ….. ……….

Do not believe anyone whom say’s they don’t flub up.
Arah p3, 500ap player joins in. Pug is about to kick him, I ask if he knows the path; yes. Pug wipes at lupi, he solo’s and kills him.
AP what now?
With so many buying additional or replace accounts, AP doesn’t stand for skill at all.
Smh i want to SPvP with a Warrior using Greatsword,,, i am that mad!!!!
You don’t like Booster’s?? btw. on the wiki there’s drop rate research being done on most containers in game.
Knowing a dungeon path != knowing the game.
Dungeons is major part of the game knowledge.
Dungeons are completely optional content. I myself rather dislike instanced game modes like Dungeons and much rather stick to WvW and PvE.
My Wolf sense of smell is picking up the scent of bleep bleep. I don’t know if these are actual fans of this person or part of a PR team coming on the forums and Reddit to announce to us all that this person is playing the game.
For me, most streamers are designated as “non value added”. A couple are informative and pleasant. For the rest, they add no value to my gaming experience. I hope Anet spends more on their in house staff that are good on the official video productions.
What was the economic purpose of inflating silk demand compared to leather?
If you haven’t noticed, the Dev’s like to dangle a carrot in front of each player. They do this to entice and encourage us to spend money. Once we’re hooked onto the carrot, whatever shiny it may be, they allow us to roughly have 80% to 90% of the materials and processes to obtain it easily. It’s in that last 10% to 20% where they hope we’ll decide to take the short cut of buying gems and converting to gold. There’s also the time gating involved in that last 10% to 20% that keeps us playing longer. Thus, if you wonder why there always seems to be that one thing or couple of things preventing you from getting what you want, it’s designed to be that way. Silk is one of those items in the 10% to 20% when it comes to obtaining Ascended Armor. For the volume of Silk required, I wouldn’t be surprised if the volume and velocity of silk trading makes it one of the larger gold sinks in game. This would be something for Wanze to figure out. Which items on the TP are the largest gold sinks.
/tiredrambling
Being able to salvage mats to a lower grade would be a great concept too. Instead of promotion in the forge, having the capacity to salvage and demote an item. For example salvaging Gossamer for silk, Silk for Linen, Mithril for platinum, Elderwood for hard wood, and etc. etc.
When you are playing the game and realize after an hour that you forgot to turn the sound system on. Yet, you still heard every sound in game the past hour.
And as it is supposed to be a long term goal, I think the prices are fine.
Though I do believe with your in game wealth Wanze, you may have become a bit desensitized and removed from the majority of the player base. It’s like going out to restaurant and buying a $49.95 steak would seem fine to a millionaire but, outrageous to someone with a middle class income.
For light ascended armor, what it is about 500g for the bolts of damask? That seems a bit steep for the value they bring. They really need to have a hot swap feature for runes and infusions. Which is another topic for a different thread.
For silk prices, I’d much rather see players increasing supply on their own. More people playing content, not the TP. More players running in light armor, not all heavies. Players should be saving their bags and opening them on their light armor’s instead. And yes, as Wanze pointed out to be patient. When I get enough silk to make a bolt, I make a bolt. I don’t even bother rushing it anymore. Especially when I can rune multiple set’s of exotics with more specialized runes that out perform Ascended gear with generic runes usually.
btw.. I had to edit this because (dollar sign 50) was kittened???? huh?
(edited by DeWolfe.2174)
Soooo…. is this whole “rant” thread really just an advertising ploy? For me, I’d rather log in and actually play than watch someone else. Unless someone’s on an opposing server in WvW, than I do enjoy hunting and ganking them.
Wondering if Zephoid is referring to the Wraith Mask? Which does look amazing on humans. Though if you think it looks bad on Sylvari’s, you should see how horrid it is on Norns. If only the human variant was available for everyone…
Lol ‘burning, burning, burning!!’ <—— my asura
My brain went to Sid Caesar saying “Oh… we on Fiya!!!” in “It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World”.
LOL Wooden Potatoes has been driving me nuts with his Wivvern-ing…now you guys too?! Wind-up merchants
LoL, W.P. was pretty much what instigated this thread. Bog Otter mentioned “Wivering” in one of his videos too. After watching so much content yesterday and the myriad of way’s people pronounced it, I figured this would be a fun topic to poke at.
And yes, Jim Varney was in my thoughts when I made the title
I’d much rather have a choice of weapon slot skills for either power or condition. Thus, each weapon has two choices. Kinda like we can slot different utilities, just have this style of UI for weapon slots.
Thief pistol main hand AA is weak for power and washes out bleeds on the stack. It’s just not good all around really. Though I still use it because I like P/P actions.
Yes, and on that webpage you linked, there is another link to Dictionary.com. From there you can click on the little speaker icon to hear how it’s pronounced.
Before it becomes a thing, Wyvern is pronounced as (why-vern).

Just wondering if anyone has received any Foxfire clusters from the Elderwood home instance node? I know the drop rate is rare. Though I haven’t received a single one since purchase and I’m going beyond the typical drop rates. Probably just be poor RNG but, thought I’d check on the forums.
Yes please, to that entire list of items.
Make another Mawdrey. No one said you can’t have more than one.
Wings in white please, why just black?
MY opinion is that it’s Daniel Dociu fault. Dark, muted, broken, old, dead, dirty, you name the look of something in an unhealthy state and that’s his artwork in a nutshell. Wishing they’d hire someone with different taste to add more dimension and depth to the game finally.
We should either buy these to completely cause havoc and maybe they’ll tweak these smaller. Or, start wearing the holographic wings to counter it.
The event should not scale up if no action has been taken by a character. No matter how close in proximity to the event they may be. If anything, the Dev’s may need to tighten up the scaling features in the Silverwaste. Though nothing additional is required.
Good idea OP, very good.
Could always take a light armor class and go farm Large Ritual Bags in Fireheart Rise if you want more silk in the economy.
Wait, there’s a big difference between in game and in real life. Also, my spider sense is tingling on this thread. As I wonder if it’s even really occurring. Also wondering if someone was doing something to others first to instigate such a response?
Eek, I think you all are going way to burnt of a color for gold. Unless you want an old tarnished gold look? Lemon Zest is another great looking gold on metallic objects. It’s pretty close to what color is on Light of Dwayna.
Define “true” gold? Because neither of the ones mentioned have the brilliance and sheen of polished gold. I can save you up to 80g by telling you to try Honey Ice instead. Though as mentioned, it really depends on the based material. We don’t even know if your monitor is color calibrated, etc etc. So pick which ever looks best to you.
I made a thread on the Min Toxic Hybrid being WAY too loud on the environment channel. THAT pita has to be lowered by the Dev’s as it’s not properly normalized with other sounds in the channel.
For the character select screen, there are no environmental sounds as you’ve described OP. Only the GW2 theme play’s in the background of the character select screen.
Boss #2 Reflect when he spins. Kill pods for OP buff. When it runs to the vinewraith, CHASE IT. Watch out for aoes later in the fight.
The pustules explode if they are touched by the poison projectiles of the boss, then they cause a huge aoe poison field that deals lots of damage. If there is enough reflects there is no reason to destroy the pustules (other than getting the buff) but usually there isn’t a perfect 100% uptime of reflects, some poison projectiles pass and lots of people die.
I never expect enough reflects and hunt the pustules unmercifully. Especially the NW corner where there’s 3 of them tightly grouped. Those seem to be missed as players tend to stay on the S and SE side of the area.
Using built-in function isn’t botting. Botting is using 3rd party programs automatizing your gameplay.
So… if I were to say, load up my ranger, go walk into SW at a tower with my pet on the “attack anything” stance. Walk away from the game, come back half an hour later and open my reward chests for having “contributed” to the event… that’s fine? Hmm, always thought that was frowned upon. I mean I’m just using built in game functionality right?
Is it botting or exploiting, no it is not. The misuse of these terms is getting out of hand, really. For your scenario, it should not work. The events scaling system, as far as I understand it, is designed to discern between active and inactive players. You and your pet wouldn’t draw aggro if idle for some time. Which means you wouldn’t get a reward then. If you drew aggro, from any of the SW mobs, you’d certainly find a dead character when you returned to the game. Unless you were saved by active players. Which is then leeching and well, you shouldn’t do that at all. Have you not seen the many complaint threads of AFK in the SW? If you want to try AFK’ing, then please do try some Bloodstone Pot Pie while doing it.

The question is, were these Golems parked at spawn for safe keeping and a troll moved them on the owner? Or, did someone build these and then leave them there themself? If it was a troll, then they really should get banned. As I can imagine the most likely scenario was that the golems were parked for future use and an enemy fly hacker moved them like this.
Makes me wish there was a Guild Garage instance at spawn.

Players could always organize a WvW KTrain day? Most of us are bored and getting burnt out anyway. It shouldn’t be too hard to get everyone to set aside one day for this. We’re already organizing Tier wide fight nights, push weeks, and GvG’s. Shouldn’t be too difficult to do this really. For example, say March 6th @ 0:00 UTC til the WvW reset is Global Map Complete Day.
The dev’s could help too by getting into WvW and run around with some red tags lit.

I’ve needed one vista for completion for nigh on six months now, and I’m kitten ed if I can get it. The fort where it is is never in my servers hands.
I’m pretty certain if one looked over the data, that fort has been held by your world many times over in 6 months.
I’m all for fishing! Also, having it as a gathering method as well. There is no reason why one shouldn’t be rewarded and receive in game progression while fishing.
It’s a consumable item that’s not cheap. Please, if you see players doing this, be respectful and do not interfere. If you’d like to join them ask and respect whatever answer you are given. You can always wait your turn or find another location. If you are wondering, yes there’s etiquette to follow in game just as you would in life. Think of it like a game at a park. You wouldn’t run onto a basketball court and try grabbing the ball during a game, would you? That’s pretty much the equivalent of what running into players already engaged in an activity in game.
<snicker> uh huh, it’s SO massive it’s absolutely game breaking!! No, if it’s even 10% is not significant enough to worry about. Also, if this one food is so beneficial for the expansion, you can bet they’ll be new recipes for craftable versions of this food. Look at all the original Dragon Bash foods, craftable version became available.(massive loss of damage)
For the few whom are trying to pull a “pump and dump” with this item on the TP, realize no one should will be falling for it. You are simply trading amongst yourselves.
Without the gem to gold conversion, Anet would likely have to switch to a subscription system.
I understand the upgrade extractor is to force players into buying Gems. Though, I’d much rather have Legendaries and Ascended gear have a hot swappable feature. We’d see better builds and especially more specific builds built to content in game. Right now all my Ascended gear has a more generic upgrade to them. Making them really not much better at all than having Exotic with specific upgrades in them. The best example of this having a WvW set of gear, then dungeon, and FotM gear. Add that to the armor weights and racial appearances and the amount of gear needed really adds up.
Please God, Z-axis slider/control! That and FoV were the two biggest request I had right from launch.
Editing to add, I find myself many times trying to scroll back the camera to zoom out. I could not fathom using first person for combat. Seems like it would reduce my performance greatly.
