It’s still quite odd it always comes up mostly with mesmer effects which happen to be on a more feminine side indeed.
But apperently people are kittenless scared and disturbed by the feminine… especially guys.
So it’s a good thing to get more and more confronted to these sort of skill effects and" feminine energy" distributed equally among the genders.
Still I’m always happy about options so why not.
But then I want more options for every profession or options for no one.
I mean I don’t see why mesmers should get special treatment here.
For example I dislike the fact how warriors fight in such a straightforward brutish way, add an alternative that seems more flowy and has more finesse like in martial arts.

It would be actually fun if the Nightmare Court would be of use to defeat Mordremoth even though they are horrible individuals. Would give them more depth as a whole … and really strenghten that teneth that “the weed is brother to the blossom”
I say we just kill Trahearne and all is good again.
I’ll have number 94 if it’s still free :-)
I liked it.
The dynamic between the firstborn and secondborn was awesome. And overall this killed the perfect image sylvari conveyed previously.
Made them more believable and they felt more natural as a race.
That said it was too short for my taste.
I reckon it wouldn’t hurt to swift the stage away from the sylvari for a while though at some point.
Keep Mordremoth for later.

It certainly sounds like the same voice actress to me than the one from Twillight Arbor Faolain.
It’s just the actress seems to have a problem keeping her voice deep and the accent when she delivers more emotional/distressed and nervous lines.
But tbh I prefered it because she sounded way more natural during those then when she’s really forcing that accent and low tone.
Hey thanks allot for this
Faolain is really horrible.
I used to find her interesting back the and still do to a certain extend but this … made me actually hate her, how she moans about freedom of thinking and then like a big hypocrite trampeled all over Wynne’s just cause they were Ventari related and must know her secret for her egotisitcal power craving spiel.
Ultimately she only cares about people aslong as they are her lapdog and she can benefit from them, and Caithe is too naive, young and ignorant back then and easily manipulated by her.
It was painful to watch.
The entire story added substance to the sylvari though.
Just a bit too short for my taste.
The dynamic between the firstborn and secondborn was great.
Also Faolain’s view on how the mothertree is indeed somewhat of a control freak “molding all her children into perfect blossoms” even though she says the weed is brother to the blossom.
It makes sense sylvari could perceive her as quite the hypocrite that doesn’t love her children unconditionally, making her no better yet acting arrogantly, hiding behind a facade of softness while really she’s just being selfish herself.
Even Caithe agrees that she feels rather pressured.
But maybe damage was unavoidable in the end.
She’s ambitious nd a young mother, trying to set her children o na different path than the one that was probably destined for them.
Also they didn’t have internet and reality shows back then to research parenting.

I’m actually pretty excited for this update. It might enrichen the story and I really like Caithe and Faolain.
That said I hope it will involve more than just the flashback ;-)
Looking forward to play it at any rate.
I think what Shriketalon ment to say is that there are no people that solely exist in this manner, correct me if I am wrong.
And again, that is exactly what my life has been – existing for the sole purpose of making sure other people have an easier time of things.
Looking at them only like that is reductive and unrealistic ultimately.
Except, again, we’re talking about a real person. It can be proven with enough evidence if I had to sit in a court of law, honestly.
Ultimately everyone strives for something and depending from which angle you look at it the importance of the people in the story varies greatly.
It remains highly subjective in the end.I’m sure it does, but my point remains – there do exist people for whom there is only the function of making sure other people have things go smoothly as part of their lives/careers.
All this aside, it’s still not how I see Braham’s existence. As I said, he’s young and went from being all too eager to throw himself into things to become a legend to someone taking the harder path of self-discovery which is . . . mythologically speaking . . . the path of becoming a legend through knowing oneself.
Well you could be the exception to the rule really so my argument still isn’t refuted :P …
Or you’re just being a master pupetteer and wording it nicely, but really there’s a hidden agenda behind your actions that goes beyond other’s having a better life OR it’s temporary and you won’t be able to keep up with just doing that eternally, eventually you’ll feel empty.
Don’t take this overly seriously I’m just having fun wildy speculating ;-)
Also let’s assume you’re 100 % truthful. That’s 1 person. Most people around you surely don’t live their lives like that so having an entire cast just being support to 1 person seems unlikely.
Employess working for their bosses doesn’t count !
I LISTEN TO THEIR SCREAMS AND THE LAMENTATION OF THEIR WOMEN.
I think what Shriketalon ment to say is that there are no people that solely exist in this manner, correct me if I am wrong.
Looking at them only like that is reductive and unrealistic ultimately.
Yes of course some people play more the “assistant” type but that’s not all they are.
They seem to be like that only when one looks at them from the angle of 1 individual and if you have no interest about knowing more about them.
Some people also remain more secret about their desires, dreams and hopes.
There’s also cycles. The heros of today might not be the hero’s of tomorrow anymore.
The dynamics in groups can change depending on the situation, time and space.
Ultimately everyone strives for something and depending from which angle you look at it the importance of the people in the story varies greatly.
It remains highly subjective in the end.

Karka master race dual wielding ranger longbows with humans as pets.
Whip definitely for mesmers. Really any Dominatrix weapon is made for them.
Lances/polearms/ in general would be welcomed for any class too really.
Also balance will never really be achieved so I say bring on the new weapons even though ti would be interesting if they brought new fighting mechanics to the game. But then again I reckon old weapons could also simply be updated sometime to incorporate those new mechanics.

“PEASANTS ! I AM INVINCIBLE”. The video made me laugh so hard. Defeating Barradin through the means of interpretative dancing sounds fun though.
The new leveling system so far, is a REALLY BAD JOKE. That said it made some people do some funny videos on youtube about it …
Guess atleast I had a laugh because of it for a few minutes.
But in all seriousness… the change is insulting to our intelligence and poorly done.
But worst of all, it’s boring.
You can do much better than this, so what’s your next move ?
Surprise me like you did with Season 2 ;D
(edited by Deim Hunir.8503)
Well based on these pictures I think I prefer the right one. But both are cool.
downloading right now.
I don’t really need such a service but it’s still fun to see what combos you come up with
Upcoming plot twist! (That I pulled out of nowhere and is based on nothing besides idle speculation).
His name is Stonehealer and the dwarves are made of stone now. He will be the one to reverse this condition, bringing the dwarves back to Guild Wars 2 as a playable race!
Sure but only if we get to make bearded females.
Yes it’s certain the pale tree knows more, that’s for sure but it seems to me like she HAD to withhold the info for a while to give the sylvari enough time and a chance to actually build a society solid enough so they have something to hold on to when they realise they migth be minions of Mordy and grow desperate and insane.
If they had known from the start they might have embraced their primary nature and purpose far too fast and it would have been game over almost right from the start.
The nightmare court would have an even more valid point saying that the teachings of Ventari are a load of fluffy rubbish getting in the way of their “true nature”.
They might have a bigger chance to have an actual choice now and withstand the corruption.
The Pale Tree might be stronger now too with the dream getting nurtured by many sylvari who took a different route than intended.

I miss her cacti pigtails.
I kinda don’t want him to die this soon already … I’d rather have us take down another dragon next, like Jormag cause I don’t care much for him and he’s hurting poor innocent Quaggan !
Dahling, that drawing is simply fabulous.
It would be hilarious if they truly did that.
Lama Drama GIEV NAO ! I mean … yes I concurr about rangers getting lama pets.
So it’s official, she is of the cycle of the noon ! I thought that was fitting with her rash, getting the job done and consequences be kitten ed nature.
CRY MORE SALTY TEARS FLESHLINGS AND KEEP WATERING US SALADS.
Maybe the soil lacks minerals lately with the dragons sucking everything up so they go crazy, I don’t know.
I personally really enjoy the jumping aspects… it’s actually one of the things that doesn’t make it just “another MMO among others” because let’s be honest here, the barrier seperating it from being your generic mmo is rather thin at the moment.
I actually wish we had some skills to perform midair too.
Hmmm wouldn’t this probably be more likely an easteregg for GW 1 fans ? Or perhaps it simply implies that the realm of torment and Tyria pretty much just mirror each other.
But who knows !
It certainly has sparkled an interesting conversation.
Also there was this abaddon fractal planned at some point… so perhaps it is no coincidence indeed and there truly is a link.
The Inquest was indeed fun to fight. We really need more ennemies like this.
Good Job on the story, it really is an improvement !
I personally was pleasantly surprised. The story was actually decent, the characters felt more coherent and the map looks awesome. The atmosphere it has is great.
Also the mobs in the story were actuallym ore interesting than you braindead autoattacking ennemies.
Also The fastest Moa of the west … fun they added a mechanic were CC is relevant again atleast.
Good start so far.
Shame they did not manage to implement Scarlet’s arc more like this before but what’s done is done now.

That’s the thing that makes me sad. I actually could have lived with this fix if atleast beforehand they would have fixed the crazy pathing issues this skill has. I mean it fails to activate way too often on certain terrains… and it’s been over 2 years with this problem persisting and something tells me it’s not gonna get fixed for a long time still.
The bugs on the mesmer are just becoming flat out annoying after playing it over 2 years.
People are backlashing because they are tired other bugs that have been around since launch, that hamper the skills functionality, get ignored but then they decide to fix these types of bugs, as if a completely buggy unreliable skill was even that op to begin with.
(edited by Deim Hunir.8503)
So basically it took them over 2 years to notice this “bug”. Nice … I guess the focus will be fixed in 2 years aswell then.
This is disheartening…there’s plenty of other stuff that needs more urgent fixing than I-leap ever did… not to mention it even isn’t fixed since this skill fails constantly as soon as it’s not on flat terrain.
(edited by Deim Hunir.8503)
Let’s see …
Largos
Centaurs
Skritt
Tengu
Quaggans ?
But I’ll play pretty much anything really if it’s nicely done.
Here’s my sylvari thief. Full Nightmare armour.
She’s not that much of a silent assassin type but more the kind of person with a kleptomaniac habit. She just can’t resist shinies !
(edited by Deim Hunir.8503)
Here’s my sylvari thief.
Not sure what happened on the second shot, but after going AFK she randomly started having a powdery Aura and leaving whisps behind >_>
So far I am pleased myself. It was tedious and boring before when leveling on empty maps.
I don’t miss the Holy Trinity but what I do miss is smarter mobs with a more diverse skillset. Also more viable roles in pvE , sure… which might happen if the mobs did more than auto attack every 5-10 secs dealing big chunks of damage ( and stuff like defiant and unshakable being used far too often on bosses … and condition caps etc)
(edited by Deim Hunir.8503)
First I want to see how it’s gonna play out but tbh I think it sounds pretty good so far.
It got quite boring wandering around on empty maps while leveling up…
(edited by Deim Hunir.8503)
Heavy armour has a few options that look decent. Medium has 0 and Light has like 1 that looks pretty bad imo, not flattering at all.
Norn have a few more options aswell, especially for heavy armour, if you are into norn that is.
As things stand your best bet atm is to run a heavy armour class for that.
Medium tends to look somewhat similar on both sexes while light usually goes in opposites.
The more revealing the female outfit is the more paranoid they get about the male counterpart to cover every inch of flesh up.
The thing I dislike about this trait is that it won’t have as much control as a Gw 1 interrupt effect unless it has no internal cooldown which I doubt.
The problem is I can’t trigger the skill when needed on the specific enemy skill unless I withold from using any interrupts at all till said skill pops up.
That sounds a bit annoying and potentially troublesome.
Maybe this has potential for very agressive builds that don’t overly rely on interrupts.
Let’s wait and see I guess.
Well to be honest they need to revamp pvE in general so control effects are more meaningful.
Defiant is a silly mechanic, unshakable even more and let’s not get started on the condition immunity they introduced with the last update.
thank you so much for this ! I especially love the branches with the flowers for the guys and the rose buns for the gals. Just awesome !
Ohhhhh new weapon types for classes would be pretty darn exciting.
I have to agree that level 30 is rather late. It will definitely make the leveling experience more boring, more so on certain classes than on others.
I mean I can see it being OK on a warrior who already has plenty of weapon options to play around but not necessarly on a thief, necro and mesmer.
