RNG means any server within a given rating range can and will be matched together.

They’ll raise the caps eventually, be patient. If you don’t want to wait, transfer. Plenty of others servers with wvw communities just as good if not better.

Just because SoR is being dominated this week doesn’t mean they’ll be dominated next week or the week after. Matchups are randomly assigned.

SoR got 2nd place last week and 1st place the week before.

1)The idea does need some sort of tweaking or entire new idea, yes, there are some obvious flaws such as that. But there needs to be some sort of reward for those who selflessly spend their hard earned cash making those waypoint. I would love to hear your suggestion for a return on upgrading. People not letting their allies know would be absolutely nothing new since people do it all the time so they can just retake later for the WxP/loot. Additionally the amount returned scales with the upgrade so it doesn’t have to be a keep. instead of letting your own stuff good you could take something as small as an enemies camp and hold it for a long enough time to get a return on it.

1)No one plays for ppt anymore and nothing that anet does is going to suddenly make people care about it again. Fights>ppt. At this time in the games life, no amount of rewards for ppt’ing will change the wvw culture.
2)My suggestion for a return on upgrading? …. The upgrade itself???? Isn’t that quite obvious. The UI tells you what you get when you put in your money. I’m not saying the system is perfect (frankly, the time it takes for an upgrade to complete is the only cost we should have) but no change will ever be perfect. What we have now is fine. The reward is getting it to T3 and holding it for hours/days. It’s not like people aren’t upgrading/scouting/sieging it up now. Might be a problem on your own server.

2) No you cant just afk. You only get the successful defense when you kill something or destroy enemy siege. you could sit their hammering their siege with an ac for 3 ticks. you would only get it on the one it dies.

You get bronze medal for doing nothing. Good enough for a bot.

3)The bonus chest is a very small reward and requires you to play the next week and rank up multiply times to get all the rewards for your rank. The reward should be given without having to do anything since you earned the reward in the previous week

So it rewards continued WvW participation and you think it’s a bad?

Or in the case of NA servers, the guild got bought by the rival server or your server is dying/toxic and the guild wants to leave but remain in the same tier.

There were more or less daily threads about how people wanted the ability to play while queued, how they wanted variety and how they wanted new maps.

Still haven’t done what I asked. Your points are invalid until you do so.

1) Allow the people that purchase an upgrade to receive a percentage of the cost back to them per tick the item is owned. For example, if they spend 75 silver upgrading a keep they gain 10% -20% of it back to them per tick the item is owned. After they reach their base amount it keeps returning it back to the upgrader as profit so they can make money by upgrading and keeping it for long periods of time. This encourages more people to upgrade and gives a reason for those that do to defend it.

Ok so I go to some keep, spend a few silver on the cheapest upgrade then, because I know my server is dominant during the next xx hours or because the wvw is dead for most of the day in my tier, we won’t lose it and I’ll make a whole lot of money from doing nothing.
Oh no, someone else beat me to it! Now he’ll make the money and not me! Better not let my allies know if it’s under attack. That way we lose it and I can start the upgrade first when we recap it. I should also rage at that guy for starting the upgrade I was meant to.

2)Give people that earn the Successful Defense event completion award a chest equal to the award they would have gotten for taking it every time they earn it. Also up the WxP for the defense events so defenders can actually level up. This may need a little tweaking since a champ bag and dragonite bag every 3 minutes you defend a keep ( if you get the successful defense award which you don’t get that often) may be a little OP but it gives rewards to defenders that match that to those taking things. Making it more rewarding to defend then taking also encourages more people to defend and hold onto stuff then to let it go and just retake.

Ok, let me afk in my keep while my server mates do all the defending. I’ll get rewards for no effort, definitely working as intended.

3) Finally, I think they should give a reward chest to all people that WvW that week. The reward can be small but there should be some reward based on ranking that encourages people to try and earn first outside of the tournaments. 10 gold for first place and 250 badges of honor for first, 7 gold and 200 badges for 2nd and 5 gold and 150 for 3rd is my suggestion. This gives just something to reward people that play WvW all year round. Also adding their upgrading returns to their end of the week chest would be a easier idea then giving them gold every tick. With these changes I think that WvW will take a small step into becoming more balanced.

It’s like I didn’t already know that bonus chests were awarded based on a server’s placing for that week!

Yes, they do. It was added relatively recently. You get a “no line of sight” error when trying many of the shots that back-of-wall and other clever placement used to accomplish.

And like I said, it has some leeway in it. It’s not a literal line-of-sight. It’s just trying to prevent things like building one inside a tower and firing directly onto the opposite side of the nearest wall, as was done in third-party software zoom unlocks.

Well of course for a common wall we see everywhere ac’s can’t hit over it. Been like that since launch. I can still hit them through gaps above the door. I can still build them on stair cases and hit over the wall (eg. stairs at bay lord room). I can still build them behind short walls (like at the portal for west inner garri) and hit outside. All these places the enemy can’t see my ac but I can see them.

My point still stands, ac’s don’t require line of sight because I can build them behind obstructions and still hit things.

If they didnt have lower numbers, they wouldnt be rank 4-27 now, would they? PPT is 80% about population and coverage. WvW is not so packed there is population competition across all tiers.

Just choose one of the top 3 if you want population, its the same darn thing no matter the server. Unless you got a raid guild following you there, one person more wont make it any more or less populated than it currently is.

I doubt he wants to sit in queues, or be forced into EoTM for some PvW for most of the evening during prime time, so adding one more player in the queue would be a problem for him at least.

What queues? Even on SFR there is rarely a queue to BL during weeks days and even when it is it’ not like you have to wait hours in it. If I am really unlucky I have to wait 20 mins but usually it is no more than 5 mins.

Wait till season 3 starts. 100 man eb queue was the the bare minimum during prime time lol.

I hope you realize that there is one very simple solution that will stop posts like this being made. LOL I’m laughing at some of the people on that list. Three of the people that are on it don’t know jack kitten but to hump the meta and toughness and call out Sacrx comms because they are too stupid to come up with their own.

Where are HOPE, Ark, PYRO, APeX? who cares if PYRO is gone get in contact with their old raid leader, Ark is still around HOPE still plays so does APeX. People hump the kittening toughness beat a guild and they think they are better. Get EU guilds as well, yes they hump the meta and toughness far more than NA but kitten they would be better than some of the people on that list.

Ark runs some crazy kittened up builds, but they are still a force to be reckoned with. APeX hasn’t had a periphery team at all, yet they are still sitting as one of the top guilds in NA (it would be really interesting when APeX does get a periphery team) they play old fashion and still kitten . HOPE runs a kitten ton of people but they still have far more knowledge then a handful of people on that list. PYRO was known to be one of the most adaptable guilds in NA.

It is just appalling to see some of the people that have been chosen to represent the NA GvG scene, absolutely shocking. I honestly can’t wait to hear the crap that will be coming out of the mouths of some of those people.

It’s clearly labelled as “T1 GvG”. Nice use of an oxymoron I must say.

When you bring an entire zoneblob of 80 players, where 50 of them are banners to keep your kitten alive over and over and over while facing a 40-45 man open raid – of course it will take forever to get you down but I am yet to lose a fight to you on SFR when you don’t have more than 2x our numbers Ins

And there is Deso’s second problem, they simply can’t count! I’ve had a full zone blob on me once since i moved over. It’s actually quite hard to get a blob during primetime because SFR has so many closed raids and guilds raiding that you’re lucky if you can get over 40. Unless of course you play in EB, but i’ve not played in EB more than a handful of times.

And once Deso find out i’m leading a blob usually comes hunting me straight away, kinda fun

I eagerly await this video so I can point out the inconsistencies with your claims and what we see in the video. I surely hope the mini map won’t get blocked because that’s really the only way you can prove any of your claims.

She’d face the same treatment no matter what server she was on. Up levels are a liability to the players around them. Easy target for easy rallies.

It’s a two way street. You can say that guilds don’t have the right to demand ownership of a game area (which I agree with) but what gives her the right to devalue the gameplay experience of others?

There are many ways to level up your character. I suggest you tell your friend to focus on getting to lvl 80 and getting a good build before venturing into WvW. Not only will WvW be infinitely more fun for her but she’ll also be useful to the players around her.

Trust me I feel your pain. TC has been stuck with JQ and BG for god knows how long now, it’s the reason why I don’t WvW anymore. When we drop down to tier 2 for a week or two I’ll rejoin WvW, not saying TC stay in tier 2, but a break from Tier 1 would be refreshing and worth playinv WvW again.

I moved from Tarnished Coast after recently moving to TC thinking maybe they would be able to win one time out of four or five, but, because they have no way of winning and are in the wrong tier as many servers are now I was forced move again.

Losing week after week is demoralizing even in a game.

Guess Anet wants to keep people spending money for moves by not fixing WvW.

I’m VERY much considering a transfer myself. I love TC, I think we have the best community by far, very friendly! But yea, losing every week sucks, and I don’t go into WvW to fight for 2nd place. We just don’t have the numbers to actually shot for 1st place, and we all know in WvW numbers > skill of the players. Sooo I’m looking at Tier 2 servers and more specifically SoS.

And what happens when TC loses enough players that SoS moves up to tier 1 and takes TCs spot as perpetual loser. Do you then transfer again just so you can win?

I’ll stick with SoS for awhile, but yea if it becomes the new TC I’d transfer again. I don’t mind losing every now and then. But NEVER coming in 1st …nope not doin it.

The gap between Arborstone’s rating and Baruch Bay’s rating is more than 100 which means they can never swap places due to the limits in the matchup calculation.

Only way to solve this is for more guilds to transfer to Arborstone so they win by a much bigger margin (this is a hint to all you french guilds that are jumping ship from Viz/JS – stop going to international servers).

Or Anet manually bring them up, which they’ve done before for T8 NA. Someone just needs to bring it to their attention.

Kodash is overpopulated roamingwise. VERY overpopulated. My guild (running 1-5 players) has trouble to find any roaming fights these days. And if so, there is a big chance of other Kodashies attacking the enemies, which makes an outnumbered fight (in the beginning) very boring, as it just turns to a steamroll.
No offense, many players just get bored and want to fight something i guess.
All in all i wouldn´t recommend going on Kodash anymore, it should be much more entertaining to play against them.

My guild is now thinking of leaving Kodash to play against Kodash more often, so we would have more fights.

So please tell us about the situation on your new EU-Server

Why would you leave when Kodash is rank 3 and will fight Gandara and Desolation very often. Gandara and Desolation have huge roaming population. Even SFR has a lot of roamers.

deso and sfr have no small scale roaming guilds that I can think of. I seriously can’t remember a single one in either of those servers. maybe they do exist but I’ve never seen them.

SFR has at least 4 that I can think of off the top of my head. I can’t even walk across a map without running into Deso roamers. Who cares if the roamers aren’t in a roaming guild. Roamers are roamers no matter the tag.

Why would you leave when Kodash is rank 3 and will fight Gandara and Desolation very often. Gandara and Desolation have huge roaming population. Even SFR has a lot of roamers.

I consider this a different problem than the readability of Asura animations. Yes, they could be fixed in the same way with many of the solutions the players have suggested. However, all melee attacks hit outside the visible animation for all races. That specific problem is not easy to solve because it is a product of us trying to create fluid combat.

Is it really that hard to make it so that skill animations (eg dragon’s breath) are the same size across all 5 races?

Yes you are at a disadvantage because your weapons/armor will still have sub lvl 80 stats.
Unless you know exactly what you are doing (positioning wise) you will also be a liability to any allies you follow. You will be an easy target or what most people call it, a rallybot.

Most don’t but it’s getting ridiculous on SFR. 4 maps queued during prime time. EB queues are looking like what is was like during leagues. Few days ago SFR got a high of ~130 in queue for EB and double digit queues for the bl’s.

Anet very recently patched one of the methods that got people under the map (noticed the new ramp in the south island near the sentry?). They’ve been working through them one by one.

Except it wouldnt work because of a huge influx of trolls and not enough overflows to supply every GvG with their own one since the game creates overflows only if the current ones all reached their soft cap.

It works in pve when trying to get organized groups into maps for teq/wurm. No reason it shouldn’t work for this as well.

Fill the map to create a new instance. When a members gets into the new instance, have him taxi everyone else over.
