All classes CAN… It’s just a matter of certain fights being purely reliant on luck for some classes and have virtually zero skill involved in them…

These changes have mostly quite good.
The account wallet is great, all my currencies in one window. Except for karma. I wish that was compiled in there too. But still, an excellent wallet to have.
Having champions now drop worthwhile loot is great, means now there’s a reason to fight them, be they in events or roaming out in the world.
The entire new instance is neat, being built right into the ground itself. I could see this being used as a training ground/arena after the Jubilee is over, for other events in Divinity’s Reach.
There’s probably more I can think of, but right now, this is a good job on the developer’s part, and for that, thank you.
Karma should be part of the wallet too.
I can’t wait to get home and DL this patch!

I concur. I love this game. The more festivals the better. They help celebrate the joy that this game brings me. I’m able to save money by playing just this game and also get pleasantly entertained.

It depends on the build really to make it through Dungeons and PvE content. Any profession can do these. As most have said, the “Balancing” is basically for PvP content. As long as you have a good mix of DPS and survivability and can pop the right boons and hold onto them, you can make it through anything PvE-wise. It’s the player base who determine that “Rangers can’t do this dungeon” or “Need all zerk Warriors for this dungeon”, but needless to say, every profession can do the content.

To clarify we had both QA and our internal core tests go through the content a whole bunch. The QA team focused on making sure that every profession could complete every boss (there are 12) with a reasonable level of skill and gear. The core testers mostly did what they do best and beat the pants off of the stuff we throw at them and tell us whether or not it was hard enough. I feel its worth mentioning that we would schedule tests for an hour or so and some of them would stay all day trying to beat it. But they were having fun, and that’s whats most important to me.
Queen’s Gauntlet is definitely the more challenging side of the Jubilee. That’s why it has its own achievement category and rewards. There’s even a gambit system wherein you can increase the difficulty for a better reward.
It’s not quite like anything we’ve ever done before. I think some of you are really going to have fun with it.
This makes me really want to try out this new content. This latest update is really looking great. I can’t wait for the 6th.

Then again, it’s not the only game with these kind of tendencies. Find a woman that plays Street Fighter and about 5:1 chances they main Chun-Li.

I would love it if the vendors would stay that give chests for the extra mats. I had a stockpile of Candy from the Dragon Bash living story and loved that I was able to offload that. That would be the only reason to keep any of the stuff in this zone here. They give Zephyr chests though and once the content ends, we won’t need those.

I’ll agree with the OP as well that I wasn’t a fan of the trials. I just decided to skip that part of this content all together. I achieved both mini’s by doing other Achievements so it wasn’t a loss. From what I understand, the drops and reward aren’t that great anyways. It sucks because I like doing most of the living story content when it drops. I actually usually just skip out on the mini-games but this time it was basically opposite.

This Achievement really is not that difficult.. at all. Had mine done within a couple days after the patch.
That’s because 2 days after the patch people were still new at it.
Now we know which element to choose if we plan on being the carrier, the defender or the attacker. Try doing it now. It’s much harder.
I still play this a lot. It’s a nice way to get some coin and loot for my toons that are nearing 80. Since I have the achievement already I can’t tell when I get a kill on a crystal bearer, but I still kill many. I love this mini game and do well in it. It may just not be for everyone though. All 3 aspects have their pluses and minuses and if you actually run with 1 or 2 teammates you will melt the opposition. I’ve easily played 50 matches of this mini game where i’ve only done about 18 of Southsun Survival.

I did the survival 2500 points achievement, but not the aspect arena ones.
Getting 2500 points in Survival was fun, but the aspect arena ones are kinda.. ugh. Anyone else feel that way?
I felt the opposite actually. I loved doing the Aspect Arena. I was able to get my 6 Gnashblade achievements without this so I just skipped even trying. Think I ended up only getting 500 pts..

I do agree with the OP. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen a thread started asking what’s a good PvE build and it snowballs into the best sPvP build or WvW aspect.
After much research though…. the PvE builds are basically the same thing. All you want to do is get DPS and boon Might and Fury as much as possible.

Just play 6 games and you will probably have the 15 kills already, next to the extra loot bag…
It’s 12 games of Aspect Arena to get the loot bag.

I’d like to say that I LOVE this idea!!!! This will help clean up my bank (in which I was nearly about to purchase another tab). I also love the fact that I can share my gold and karma easily now. I hated having to run to the Bank or switch toons, deposit, switch back, and withdraw. Not to mention the zoning in and out to get to banks to achieve that feat.
I don’t understand the negative backlash for the gold though. I’ve never ONCE made a mistake of making a purchase. Should ANET be responsible for putting up safeguards because people aren’t paying attention themselves? I don’t think so. I hear the argument that lag or bugs can help cause a mistake and to me, that is the only logical and real argument to make.
I can’t wait for Tuesday and this update. How long until the LFG tool?

Is it going to include awesome cinematics that are completely unwatchable when using 3 monitors like every other event. If not for youtube I would have even less an idea of what is going on and why I am doing the things im doing.

I didn’t care too much for the second half of the Dragon Bash content. The Aetherblade Dungeon wasn’t worth the time and struggles to get through for that to be rewarding. To each their own though. So far I’m enjoying this latest batch of new content. The Aspect mini game is by far my favorite. I’ve played many games where everyone was going for objective and had some great 4v4 PvP battles.
As another said, to each their own opinion though. We won’t all like every content release. When a bad one comes along, just do your normal PvE or sPvp or WvW stuff you did before and wait 2 weeks for new stuff. It’s how I handle the content I’m not thrilled with.

I love this game. I was having a lot of fun yesterday playing and went on a rather nice roll. It’s fun when your teammates know what to do and you run around in a group of 3 or 4 and have different aspects. That way you can just melt other teams. I loved it and played for about an hour straight yesterday. Gained about 1g and the rare item from the loot drop. Very fun though. I haven’t tried the Hunger Games mini game yet.

I rarely have this problem. I did for a little bit but then I turned Auto-Target off.
Now I use Tab to Target the closest enemy and when fighting.. I don’t click into the madness unless it’s an AOE. I hit my number skills ie. 1,2,3,4 or I click the skill on the skill bar. The less clicking in the battle area the better IMO.

I’m curious now. I’ve heard a couple times that Ruby Orbs is the way to go. Is that really the case? I was always under the assumption that Superior Runes gave you the best stat boost. Not so at all? Is it just preference?

If you don’t want to grind dungeons.. You can get Exotic gear for 250K Karma in Orr.
Then use Laurels and grind Fractals for Ascended Trinkets.
I just got my Eng to 80 last night as well. It’s my 4th 80 though. You can become an Altaholic like myself or there are a few other options.

Your personal MF stat really doesn’t matter. What matters is your MF relative to everyone else in the game. The more people that have MF -> The more drops people get -> The less every drop is worth.
That can’t be accurate….
I thought MF changed your percentage on a drop table basically. The higher percentage you have, the greater chance on the drop table. It shouldn’t effect other players though.

I just purchased an Ascended MF piece last night. No tears here.
I used Laurels (stockpiled up to 130 before I used them all last night) and WvW tokens as I never WvW and ANET decided to give me a crap load from Achievement Chests.
It would be cool if ANET gave something, which I’m sure they will. I mean.. I got a free Kite just for buying Gems.

What about the players who HAVEN’T made full MF gear? I was one of those. I was actually about to pursue a MF gear set, but then this news dropped. Good for me and all those who haven’t done this. People complained about having to have a MF gear set to go with their other gear set. ANET is changing that……

So I just dinged 80 on my Engineer. I want to use this toon as my MF hound.
I’m currently using P/P and I’m pretty sure I did 25/30/0/15/10 for my build.. I felt like this would be a decent build for PvE and my style.
I purchased a nice Ascended Amulet to give myself a 10%MF boost as well as a 20%infusion.
My question is, what’s the next best case to maximize my MF? I’ll want to continue to grow my DPS as well I’m guessing.
