To clear up my confusion, which has caused everyone else to get confused, I’ve updated the original post to correctly indicate when we are resetting. The times are:
01:00 UTC Saturday for NA matchups.
18:00 UTC Friday for EU matchups.
I’ll take full responsibility for this mess and will add this to my collection of arguments against daylight saving time.
We are not planning to adjust the server times for DST, because it is just overly complicated to keep up with. As of Friday, taking into account DST, the match up will reset at 6 PM on the West Coast of the United States, which is 9 PM on the East Coast. It will reset at 7 PM in the U.K.
I’m going to lock this as there is the other post for all your posting needs.
This is just for WvW it has no effect on the daily reset.

We’ve been working hard at finding a solution to the problem of setting up separate reset times for the European and North American regions and I’m happy to say we’ve accomplished it! Starting next matchup and going forward the North American WvW matchup will reset Friday at 9:00 PM EST, which is 01:00 UTC Saturday, and the European matchup will reset at 18:00 UTC. It’s our hope that this will make for a better experience for everyone.

They will have full access to the game. Just think of them as free WXP.
I’ve got to get the okay from them first, not everybody wants the spotlight. I soak that right up though.
I main an Ele. I was speaking less about myself and more about the rest of the team who definitely don’t get the recognition they deserve. Just remember every change you see had a bunch of people working on it.

We are in the process of working out how/if we can split the NA and EU resets. For now, this change is the way going forward. It’s my hope we will have an update about this soon as I’ve made it a priority.
We are looking into what it will take to split the times out on a per region basis and we’ll do everything we can to make that the case as soon as possible. In the meantime, this change will make things better for European players, who have been dealing with a very inconvenient time since launch.
Please have the foresight NOT to reward for taking supplies from Keep or Tower… just saying

We are currently working on making rewards for play outside of killing and capping more rewarding, but it is complicated. Giving people WXP for doing things is a very high likelihood.

Feel free to move the discussion here. The WvW matchup is reset at the same time because of the way the system works. We can’t separate the reset time for EU and NA because of this.

As part of our ongoing effort to improve the game experience with changes big and small, we’ve decided to change the time of the WvW match resets. The current time is 00:00 UTC on Saturdays, which is mighty inconvenient for our European friends who want to get in on the action of the newest match right away. We’ve decided that moving the reset time back by 2 hours to 22:00 UTC on Friday night to try and find a more happy medium for NA and EU servers. This will go into effect beginning this week and will be the new time going forward. Hopefully this makes it easier for you all to jump right in at the start of a new matchup.

We are not going to remove the score. What we are going to try and do is find a way to make the score relevant throughout a match, but it is not an easy solution.

We would really like to bring back the play that orbs provided to WvW. That being said the initial version of orbs was like Swiss cheese.

We really want to bring back the orbs in some form or another, but it is a complicated thing and so there is no timeline, nor are there specifics as to what form they would take when they return. We have top people working on it! But I can’t give you anything more than that, as there is nothing more to give.

can you do something about it resetting your maximum supply to 10 when you pick it up while holding 15?

Agreed. We need to figure out how we want to handle this, however, so I can’t say when we’ll do something about it or what the nature of the solution will be.
I don’t disagree with the premise, except for the very trenchant analysis of Syeria, which is that by doing that we discourage people from playing together and in fact create a high likelihood that people will be upset with other players for showing up and costing them WXP. At the core of our game is the premise that you should always be excited to see other players and while in WvW that can be positive excitement from your teammates or the rush you feel just before getting crushed by the other server, we don’t want to do anything to damage that. I think there is something we can do to solve the problem here without discouraging people from playing together, but we haven’t figured it out just yet.
While I think there is a good argument for this, we haven’t discussed it enough yet for me to say if we would or would not want to go this route. We are looking at the commander system generally, because we think it can be improved upon, and as part of that discussion we’ll almost certainly look into how you become a commander.
We are aware of this little strategy and have our top minds hammering out possible solutions.
The chest, as mentioned above, contains supply which doesn’t appear as anything if you have auto-loot on. We are aware of the confusion and we are doing something to make it less weird.
We’ll look into this today and likely get a bug in on it, as that seems like something we’d prefer not to have be the case.
This is on the list of things we will address soon. There are some number of titles that are extremely long term, which is fine, but I’d like for there to be ones that can be achieved in the interim. I can’t say when it will happen, but it will happen.
We are working on adding more info to these leaderboards right now and the first area we are intending to get to is displaying WvW rank data. I would like to see us get some guild specific info as well, but the first step is the individual info. The suggestions here are also areas we’ll likely look into, if they are feasible.

Here are the updated world ratings as of the matchups ending on 4/5:
*Note, the large change to Eredon’s Terrace and Ferguson’s Crossing is due to us manually adjusting their ratings up by 300 before the conclusion of the previous match. Thus they actually dropped about 35 from that adjustment after the match concluded.

There was not and culling is still gone.
To try and nip this all in the bud, Customer Support has been examining these cases as they get them, it’s just a complicated thing. Posting on the forums, while tempting, is not the best way to get these answered. I will, generally speaking, talk to Customer Support on Monday to try and get more action on cases that are reported to them. If you send the report in, it will get looked at. If you post about it on the forums, it will not. Not out of malice or as a punishment, but because I’m just not going to look at these threads any more.
I talked to our server guys and we just don’t have the ability to reset these at different times. As much as that is an unsatisfying answer for you in the EU, it is reality.
2 things for you Benny.
1) I don’t know if you are supposed to get there or not but I will check on Monday when I get in.
2) If it happens to be that you aren’t supposed to, I will personally fix it to make sure you can’t.
If you somehow end up banned, I’ll make sure to look into it. Of course, if you get banned for something else, you are on your own. :P
Skill lag, as many here have pointed out, is a server side issue. Your PC’s components will not have any impact on it.
To be clear, assuming we make this change, it would have basically 0% to do with world completion. While that would certainly be a side effect of the change, I’d like to do it because it will add a small amount of variety to the matchups, nothing more and nothing less.

Uh…yeah, we know! We should have been able to get out of T8 on our own steam a LONG time ago (1/4 of a year of domination is simply too long). But due to how Glicko works and how skewed the ratings were in T8, there was simply zero chance of us getting out of T8 on our own steam without some sort of adjustment to the ratings.
So why should T8 NA get special treatment? Why not a universally applied answer? As an academic and a historian you should know that giving a minority special treatment is not a solution.
The biggest reason is that the solution is to attempt to break up what has become an ossified matchup. It is hardly a solution to the underlying problem, but it will hopefully put some variety back into the T8 and T7 matchups in NA which were sorely lacking in that because of the rating system we use for matchups.
How is this throwing GoM under the bus? I’m just curious, because even if they normalize t8, you still have a week to not come in third place again.
But that’s the thing, according to Devon the ratings bump might be enough to drop them down tonight.
So the key here is that if we do this correctly, then they will be able to get out of T8 by kicking tail. There are other underlying problems here that are more complicated to fix, but the change we are making should make it more likely that there is some movement between T7 and T8 on a regular basis, rather than the way it currently is. As for throwing anyone under the bus, this is still based on how you perform in the current matchup. The only way to get dropped down to T8, is to have done poorly in T7.
Interestingly enough we just were discussing this with Habib, master of all things WvW and I think we will do this soon, if it is as easy to do as we hope. It will just make things a little more interesting.
Remember that this is merely a band-aid solution for now. One that will hopefully return some movement between T7 and T8. For it to be permanently solved will require more work and time. But, this should make things better for now.

It would appear that the change we are making will impact the ratings for the next matchup. I do not know specifically who will end up where, but it is likely that SF will break out and someone else will drop. If not this week, then likely the next.
